QUERU ‘Cantina Mexicana’ in Wijk 28 Centrum

Fantastisch authentiek Mexicaans gegeten met in elke taco een smaakexplosie. Echt gezellig zit je er niet: het is heel (tl)licht en krappe tafeltjes, maar het fantastische eten maakt dit meer dan goed. Bestel er een Margarita bij en vergeet asjeblieft niet de superverse overheerlijke guacemole te bestellen. De rekening is verbazingwekkend laag voor wat je ervoor allemaal krijgt voorgeschoteld.

En un viaje reciente a visitar a mi Hijo cenamos aquí. Fue increíble. La calidad de la comida preparada por la cocina era excepcional, así como el servicio era eficiente y atento. Para un buen mexicano con un toque pruebe aquí no le decepcionará. sugiera reservar, ya que es tranquilo y concurrido un lugar que no debe perderse mientras está en La Haya! Bien hecho al equipo de Queru.

Good food, very fresh and well balanced in spice. The service was also excellent.

Amazing food. Authentic Mexican restaurant. Fresh ingredients food well prepared. Nice cocktails and very good wine. It feels like going back to Mexico for a while. I would recommend this place.

Came here for the first time, honestly the best mexican food i’ve had in the Netherlands. Waiters are all very attentive and kind, i wish this place nothing but the best!

Nice service, nice place, great variation of drinks - yet for food, mostly are pork tacos. Will be great to see more chicken or meat variation within the tacos (and maybe one or two more vegan options) in the future. Loving the oyster (heard from a friend that the oyster is a must try, and i ordered it 2x). Menus are singles, but they also have bigger portion (with 2-3 tacos within). Taste wise is really good. Worth the visit, but please reserve beforehand - as on the weekends it could get quite full.

QUERU es una joya absoluta! El servicio de las camareras fue excepcional, atento, amable, y nos hizo sentir como en casa. Los cócteles estaban listos, y las Carnitas de Puerco y el guacamole eran simplemente increíbles, tan sabrosos y frescos. Las porciones eran generosas, dejándonos plenamente satisfechos. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar para una gran experiencia gastronómica!

QUERU is an absolute gem! The service from the waitresses was outstanding, attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. The cocktails were spot on, and the Carnitas de Puerco and guacamole were simply incredible, so flavorful and fresh. The portions were generous, leaving us fully satisfied. Highly recommend this place for a great dining experience!

Really a very nice restaurant!! Fantastic food, we had the surprise menu and were genuinely surprised at how well everything came together. Getting to know Mexican cuisine in a perfect way. Service was excellent. Price actually too low for what you get. I will definitely come here more often!!!

México ha cambiado mucho, y esta hermosa joya refleja un conocimiento auténtico con algunos giros actualizados. El bacalao amargo tenía una USP definida y el camote también se destaca entre la multitud, al igual que el ceviche de caliza - cilantro. La planchada y otros tacos también eran tan frescos y lamerse los dedos bien. Mi única recomendación: Atenúe las luces para un ambiente más acogedor para los clientes románticos. Para amigos y familiares ya alegre y divertido. ¡En cuanto a la comida, no puedo esperar a volver!

Another successful visit to this awesome place. My partner and I had Queru Bitterballen, Totopos, two types of tacos, a delicious cocktail and finishing with tamales. We cherish this gem of a place because not only are the prices reasonable, the staff friendly, but the food is freshly prepared and delicious. My only two critiques are to ask if the guests want tap or bottled water (as the bottled water is €5, and is not quite reasonable and secondly, the lighting is a bit strong. Nonetheless, we won't stop coming here ☺️☺️

I am very enthusiastic about this restaurant! They work in two shifts: one at six, and one at a quarter past eight. So everyone comes in together, and the atmosphere is immediately created. We ate Guacamole, MogoMogo (balls of plantain and coconut cream in a crust of polenta and squid ink) and Camote (sweet potato from the grill with delicious accompaniment). Top! Accompanied by home-made salsa and margaritas. Main dish was tacos with beef. Tasty! And the dessert was Tamal. Chosen because I heard saleswomen recommending their "Hot Tamales" in the old Zorro movies. A kind of corn cake, steamed in banana leaves. With a scoop of caramel ice cream. Enjoy! Wonderful service with great attention. Recommended place!

Love this place! Small but special. Mexican food with a modern touch. Always a bit of experimenting and some novelty and surprise added in each dish. But it tastes delicious. The stuff is cool and nice. Margaritas are amazing. Great location as well.

Eten was heerlijk maar zaten met 3 personen op een twee persoons plek. Ook nog naast de voordeur. Iedere keer dat er iemand binnen kwam zaten we in de kou. Het is er bovendien erg rumoerig. Als je iets te vieren heb is dit geen leuke ervaring.

The food was really delicious. Tacos of the same standard you get in Central/South America: fantastic. The tables give a street food vibe, nice that you also get bottles of beer at the table. Price-Quality is unsurpassed; Had a delicious meal for a very reasonable price. I always have to get used to the lighting in Mexican tents. It is very light. In terms of atmosphere, a dimmer wouldn't be bad. Doesn't change the fact that this is a five star rating, you must have been here a few times.

Tacos were great! A nice balance of flavours and very reasonably priced. The place is quite small and busy, but the food and kind service makes up for it. The tako yaki taco was really delicous. Only letdown were the churros, as they were a bit oily and you could taste the grease, but still highly recommend the place.

You're right! A real Cantina with top food and cocktails. Best Tequila in town, with a Marguerita to die for. But way too much light (heavy light spots!) and a few noise-reducing plates can't hurt either. Otherwise a great case. We'd love to come there!

One thing that sadly took away from the great food, were the bar stools. They were super uncomfortable, way too small, so that we were constantly sliding forward. When we come back, we will only sit on the regular chairs. Other than that we had a really great experience eating at this restaurant. We had a starter with vegetarian meat & tostadas, which tasted amazing. I like that you get only one taco, that way it’s way easier to try more things. We also recommend the churros, although I’m wasn’t a fan of the alcoholic taste of the chocolate sauce. We sat right at the bar, which was great to watch all the food & drinks being prepared.

Very delicious Mexican / Mexican Fusion Food. Had the Gringa, a few different tacos and the black angus bitterballen. Everything was very good! The shrimp tacos probably my favorite but the black angus bitterballen were also very good. Very creative as well! Good service too. Will be back for sure! The only point of improvement I see, would be the acoustics. I would recommend looking into noise absorbing panels because the way sound travels in there, it gets very loud.

This place is a gem. Short and simple. Queru serves small, Mexican streetfood portions with a modern twist. First time in Den Haag, the first restaurant we entered and didn't regret it for a second. Cocktails and a few mocktails, taco's and nachos as it should be. Would recommend it to everyone; the carnitas in particular. Sidenote; dietary restrictions (allergies, pregnancy, ...) are also taken into account. Our compliments to the whole staff and kitchen for the unforgettable experience.

Incredible food, great service, and buzzing atmosphere! We had the Guacamole, Carnitas, Baja Shrimps and Tako-Yaki and every dish was exquisite. We'll definitely eat here again.

I went here with a group of friends including a Mexican one, who also worked as a cook. I’m still looking for the churros under the mountain of sugar they were covered in. Cinnamon not perceived, the dulce de leche was a weird liquid potion and the dough they used to make the churros was some weird buttery thing - sort of puff pastry type. Anyway, they looked like churros, they tasted/felt like diabetes. To complete the whole experience, the whole vibe was super weird: we’ve been asked what we wanted to eat before even sitting down, without having even seen the menu - once we sat down we have been given a whole presentation that sounded more like a demo of a SaaS product than the explanation of a menu and the way the food was pitched was “authentic Mexican but with a modern take and not spicy, for spicy just ask” 😅 the whole thing was so surreal.

Delicious Mexican food, good atmosphere, but please put some sound barriers on the ceiling.... I almost come out with a headache. Furthermore, fantastically delicious

Irritating that you cannot order in Dutch in your own city. Furthermore, the sound pressure is very high. Food is good, staff friendly. But, I said it before, it is downright bad that no one speaks Dutch.

Dit is wat je wil als je Mexicaans uiteten gaat. Echt overheerlijke taco's met smaakvolle en verrassende toppings. Wij vinden het leukst om vooral veel verschillende taco's te proberen en daarom hebben wij 3 ronden van 2 taco's p.p. gedaan om zoveel mogelijk te kunnen proberen. Aanrader!!

Super nice Mexican restaurant in The Hague. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice, it is not big so reservations are a must. The food is very tasty, the portions are not large, but the quality is very good. Definitely recommended!

Ruisoneor is great, so is the ceviche.. Nevertheless margarita is a true disappointment .. by the way, what the heck about the plastic glasses ? In general tasty, overpriced and small portions..

I have had quite a nice meal here before in the past. Now back again after a long time. But what a disappointment. I had the dish “ruisenor” for €27, but I think they mean “giant gore”. It was way too spiced and very bitter in taste. Lots of large pieces of hard vegetables and little meat. The tacos were also dry and tough. This time it was really a huge disappointment. I also have stomach problems and a dry mouth all night due to the excessive spices in this dish. Unfortunately this was the last time for me.

Expérience génial ! La cuisine moderne voir fusion est très réussie. Le service est au top et les plats sont délicieux !!! Gros coup de cœur pour les huîtres à l’émulsion de tequila… une vague de fraîcheur et de caliente à la fois ! Notre resto préféré de la Haye caramba !

The tacos where amazing. I really loved it and I’m not a huge fan of mexican cuisine so for me it was a whole new world of flavors. The pisco sour was ok.

Une cuisine mexicaine innovante qui sort des sentiers battus. Un service au top et high-tech ainsi que des prix raisonnables. Les puristes de l’huître vont m’en vouloir… mais il faut reconnaître que les huîtres à l’émulsion de tequila sont aussi revigorantes qu’une vague de la mer du nord à Cancun ! Les tacos sont incroyables aussi. Pensez à réserver, c’est notre resto mexicain préféré annuel !

Fantastic tacos in the heart of The Hague. Everything was good, the dishes, the tacos, the cocktails and the churros. Highly recommended.

Queru Cantina is loud and tiny but that's that cantina vibe. The food was really good, but it took a while. I can't help but think it had to do with all the delivery people coming in and out while the place was already full. You have to choose the amount of time you'll be there when making reservations. I recommend more than an hour if you're going to order multiple entree's. Cocktails was heavy on the tequila which is a good thing. The staff was very nice and helpful. Also the layout is great for the size. We will be back so maybe I'll raise it to 5 stars as it has the potential, until then it's a solid 4 stars.

Very cozy restaurant with good atmosphere. Service was friendly and ordering with QR code is fine with me. Delicious Margaritas! Ceviche was also delicious. But the quacamole was way too salty and it was on every taco we had, which also made them way too salty. Shame! And while I often secretly add some extra salt in restaurants. Maybe an outlier that evening with the salt, but because of this I won't be back anytime soon.

The food was really delicious, but unfortunately I became very ill shortly after eating. I most likely got food poisoning in this restaurant. Called yesterday and hope they take it seriously. Hopefully this is a one-off incident and doesn't happen again here.

Been coming here since they opened pretty much. Unfortunately, another establishment that has upped their price and smaller portions. Disappointing and inconsiderate for your clientele.

A small, very well decorated place, in the Mexican style, but not commercial, quite peculiar. Very well lit, impeccable service; The girls are fast and can advise you and they speak many languages. It is advisable to reserve because the place is not very big. The food is spectacular, the tacos that I have tried are all delicious, and simply the taco dough is made with a delicious black corn. I have tried the really delicious shredded chicken taco; also vegetarian tacos, with eggplant, with mushrooms of course cochinita pibil tacos. In short, everything, everything, everything delicious. Also good Mexican beers and short waiting time. In short everything is perfect, I will surely repeat when I return to The Hague

It was a bit overcrowded, service couldn't follow with the orders. The food was overall good but I expected way more Mexicans variety and flavours, specially for a shared dishes concept restaurant then clearly it's not enough, you have a choice between two starters per example, and some dishes are very very pricey and some with normal price, it felt weird to not have something in the middle. Mention for the tacos, they were good in terms of taste and size, and the fresh guacamole. Highly recommend the shrimp tacos it was amazing

Delicious, delicious food. If you're looking for a good Mexican, come here. It is a bit busy inside, but the delicious flavors make you quickly forget that. Above all, it is small, cozy, busy and delicious.

Being here for the second time has just been great. I really enjoyed the exquisite cuisine, the warm atmosphere, the friendly staff, good music and reasonable prices. I fully recommend it.

Balanced & well prepared fresh taco's w/ beyond delicious salsas, generous portions of ultra fresh guacamole and crispy hot airy churros with a perfect creamy rum dip. The smokey margarita hits the spot. The only (personal) downside is the music is too loud (or maybe we're getting old)

Had a great experience the first time I went. I excitedly planned a second visit with friends that was unfortunately ruined by the GM, Terri. We went in for the first sitting and 2 tacos never arrived. I asked about them twice and an hour and a half later, still nothing. I politely requested some compensation since the second dinner sitting was walking in and we weren't able to order more dishes or desert. The GM was EXTREMELY PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE with me and it was beyond uncalled for. I then spoke to the restaurant owner a few days later and he informed me that I was but 1 of his 10000 annual customers so my complaint was basically invalidated. Shame...thought I found a great restaurant in the Hague.....but I won't recommend it since management seem to be wholly uninterested in respecting and caring about customer experience. I care about where I spend my money and time so I discourage others from spending it at Queru.

Delicious food! The portions were good, the quality of the ingredients was top notch, everything was in good proportion and the guacamole was super fresh! That guy on the Cromvlietkade can really suck on that...

Tried to eat here a few times until today without success. The problem here is that the restaurant is not very large and you actually have to make a reservation in advance and you cannot then assume that you can just walk in. We had made a reservation at 6:00 PM and not much later the whole place was full. We started with guacamole, followed by 4 different tacos, gringa, another guacamole and 2 tacos, we also had a bottle of water and 4 margaritas. Because the food is so delicious, we ordered a little too much. We had to pay €116 for all these goodies. Go here for friendly service, super tasty and deliciously prepared food! 10/10

Marvellous Mexican food. Described as a modern twist on a Mexican cantina. You order food via an app at the table (something I find irritating) but it actually worked well.

This place was very cute and had a nice vibe. Our server was great. We ordered 3 tacos each and unfortunately most of them were extremely oily and it was surprising to us that it was vegetable oil. The tacos would’ve been good otherwise but the vegetable oil dripping out was very off putting. Also odd, the margaritas were served in plastic glasses.

Went for dinner with 9 friends. Very friendly staff and tasty food. She made courses for the entire table. Taking wishes into account. The only thing I regret is that everything was in English.

We lieten bezorgen. Kwam heel laat, lag mss aan uber eats. Taco's met chorizo en met kip heel erg lekker: vers, lekkere salsa, goede taco's, top. Hadden ook churro's, maar die waren uitgesproken onsmakelijk. Heel erg vet en met een nasmaak van rauwe olie. Op te lage temperatuur gebakken? Gaan t toch nog eens proberen hoor

Uncomfortable chairs, too loud, bad service. If you get there and your table is not ready, you are allowed to sit at the bar but not allowed to drink anything (too complicated to transfer the bill to another table or to just charge you then I guess). Then your kid order churros they bring it and put it in front of the kid that starts eating it just to find out later that the caramel has alcohol in it. You go say to the manager it is not nice to serve alcohol to a kid, they answer it’s not their responsibility. To the list of never again.

Nice place, the food was very good. I loved everything we ordered. The only drawback was having to ask several (up to 3) of the waiters to bring us water, as well as the drink.

A favorite for many years. If you like Mexican food, this is an absolute must. Service is friendly, customer-oriented and contributes to the good atmosphere. The kitchen is small and runs like a well-oiled machine. Dishes come out quickly, even when it's busy. It's always a pleasure to eat here every time.

Food is so insanely good. Very friendly staff. Feel like I need a bigger stomach to be satisfied eating all this good food.

Excellent food, great service but a confusing QR Code system (if fixed, then easily a 5 star place). The QR code system is easy to order, no issues with that. However, at least 3-5 times during out evening other food was brought to our table with a question if we had ordered. Orders seemed to have been mixed up or perhaps the waitresses were not aware of the correct table numbers. Also, the QR code system doesn’t enable to see a total of what has been ordered to the table so far. And when it comes to tacos that’s easy to lost the count…

One of The Hague’s best Mexican restaurants with delicious tacos and a simplistic theme. The taco menu is extensive, and also includes a few vegetarian / seafood options (all wonderful). Drinks and deserts are also well prepared. Dinner is served during two specific time slots and can get very busy at times, make sure to reserve in advance!
