The bread is incredibly fresh, and the cakes and pastries are simply amazing. I love coming here, partly because of the ladies behind the counter, who are always super friendly and always enjoy a chat. You can see these ladies really go the extra mile and are so passionate about their work! It's a great place, I love coming here!

The most customer-unfriendly bakery in Amsterdam. Every time I go in here, I immediately regret it. You're greeted by a group of grumpy women who are more concerned with drinking coffee than greeting customers. A simple "Can I order something?" is followed by an inappropriate response. Every "Anything else?" makes you feel the glare and want to leave as quickly as possible. The poor service and unfriendly attitude make this an unpleasant place to get breakfast or lunch. Find a different bakery or go to the supermarket if customer service and friendliness are important to you.

A fantastic, reliable bakery; incredibly friendly and dedicated staff who go the extra mile for you. Absolutely fantastic girls. I've been coming here for 15 years and the quality has always remained excellent. Thanks, ladies, and see you tomorrow ❤️

I've been coming to this charming shop for years, with its artisanal products and professional staff. When there's time and no other customers, Rabia, Rita, and Chris are always interested and willing to listen. In short: I'm a huge fan of Remko!

I just feel ripped off that I paid €9 for a flammkuchen... €16 for 3 croissants and 2 cheese sticks, and that small flammkuchen is absolutely ridiculous. I expected a maximum of €12 for this.

Just bought some (alleged) sourdough bread. The worker said it was “freshly baked”, turns out it was freshly defrosted. Once I got home the outside of the bread was fine, while the middle part was still frozen cold. I’m not sure if their plan is to sell frozen food but for a 5 euro loaf I was not expecting frozen bread. The workers constantly lie about their products. Expensive bakery and not transparent at all. PS: I called them for clarifications and they faked not being able to hear me, but somehow they knew I spoke English as they switched from Dutch to English mid interaction.

Excellent bread, delicious cookies. Above all, the regular staff are truly wonderful and truly attentive! My personal favorites from the selection are the delicious whole wheat and Amsterdam rondo. I can't wait for the Christmas loaves to be back—the ones with the cherries, hidden in just the right places—because they're unparalleled.

The most important point I want to share here is that the service has no idea what they are selling and I regularly get a different explanation for a loaf of bread. Sometimes one broad is 100% spelled, other times it still contains a different type of grain. For example, they don't know what sourdough is, or that their light spelled sourdough clearly contains yeast. Sometimes it is checked, but regularly I get something that is not right. Very variable experiences in terms of atmosphere and service, I recognize the other poorer reviews. Bread is always fresh and tastes a 7/10.

Pity…. Bought a strawberry slipper last week but it was very old. Whipped cream was whole and smelly. I tried to contact you by email for a suitable solution, but unfortunately this turned out to be in vain.

Did not eat anything there but just had a coffee. Which was very average and not worth the price. The lady behind the counter was anything but friendly and this is enough for me not to come back.

Delicious food and good service

Bread is tasty, but I think the prices are not really clear. For example, I had 2 brown loaves of exactly the same size, one for 2.30 and the other for 1.70. Could be a bit clearer, but otherwise a very Dutch tent. It may seem very direct if you come from abroad

In my opinion, Bakery Remko has the tastiest Christmas bread in the Netherlands. But why only ⭐️⭐️ instead of 5 stars? Remko puts tasty cherries in it. But where do they put those cherries in the bread? Very unfortunate. They roll those cherries into that little roll of food in the bread. To economise. That easily saves 30 grams of food and that cherry is much cheaper. The negligible story of 'The cherry is next to the cake' 'People like that cherry' Doesn't cut wood. Dear Remko, put those cherries somewhere in the dough in the bread and not 5 times in the food. Hope I get better next year then I can give 5 stars.

Good bakery, great bread. Tall lady serving is nice. Small, curly-haired lady is very rude. Such a shame for Remko’s - must make a lot of people not go back; myself included.

This is a real bakery. Definitely recommended! One of the few bakery shops where baking is still done, and not on some industrial estate. Bread tip: Amsterdam round (the light version)

Delicious bread 💯 I will recommend this bakery. The olive bread and the bread with raisins and walnuts are especially delicious. I see quite a lot of complaints about the staff here, but so far I haven't noticed anything.

Redelijk brood, beetje duur en al vroeg in de middag geen keus meer omdat bijna alles op is.

's Avonds online een bericht bij ze achtergelaten of ze misschien bij de buren een taartje wilde bezorgen, Carla belde me de volgende ochtend terug, ik kon twee taartjes kiezen, ze stuurde een tikke en een uur later belde HiFi Klubben me terug om te bedanken voor de lekkere taartjes! Super geregeld, dank jullie wel.

Brood was niet lekker,zeker oud van dagen, Jammer,kom niet meer.

Tot op heden zeer tevreden. Vergeleken met andere bakkers, zijn de prijzen redelijk en de kwaliteit van de producten goed. Het personeel is gastvrij en maken ook altijd een leuk babbeltje met iedereen. Hier met een glimlach de deur uilopen is vrijwel onvermijdelijk! Ook warmen ze graag even iets voor je op in de oven! :)

Al jaren kom ik bij bakker Remko op de Rijnstraat. Meestal neem ik de spelt broden. Afgelopen week voor het eerst de chocolade canache taart gekocht. Die is heeeerlijk. Goede chocoladesmaak, behoorlijk puur, niet te zoet, perfect. En zeer goede prijs (2e zou ik het ook waard vinden). Ik ga 'm vaker kopen. Dank !

Lekker worsten brood, 5 sterren

Lekkere broden, divers assortiment en aardige dames in de verkoop. Zeker als ze je als vaste klant een beetje leren kennen. Laten we de weinige echte bakkers die er nog zijn een beetje supporten.

producten in verhouding prijs kwaliteit matig, bediening was bezig zichzelf en de klant kwam op de tweede plaats. Helaas geen volgende keer....

De medewerker is niet vriendelijk, vaak geïrriteerd. Assortiment valt tegen. Eigenlijk alleen lekker brood. Kleine broodjes niet lekker, croisants ook niet.

Personeel niet echt vriendelijk.

Sympathieke bediening, een aantrekkelijk assortiment vers brood en een zeer smakelijke sortering broodjes en andere lekkernijen. Ik haal hier vaak broodjes als ik mijn kleinzoons van school haal en heb ook een paar keer voor mezelf een zuurdesem stokbrood geprobeerd, die was ook erg lekker maar helaas ben ik nu behalve gistvrij ook nog op een lactose- en glutenvrij dieet gesteld.
