A friend of mine ordered food with cash, and because she didn't have an online receipt since we paid in cash, they didn't give us our food due to the busyness, because we supposedly ‘hadn't paid’. Very weird place!🤨 Rude staff, never coming here again!!

I ordered food with cash but never received it. They said I never ordered anything because K couldn't show it on the bank statements. Even though K definitely paid, and I didn't get any money back either. I find it very strange. The staff were also unwilling to be friendly and help find a solution together. I know for sure I'm never coming here again!!!

My best friend is allergic to carrots and made it very clear when ordering that he absolutely cannot have them. He takes 2 bites of my durum, swallows, and looks at his durum. There are a few large pieces of carrot in it… He mentions it at the checkout, and the woman picks the pieces of carrot out and says, “No, there isn't any carrot in it,” and then pushes the durum back. He threw up, but fortunately, it ended without serious consequences. This is absolutely unacceptable. What terrible service…🤡

Delicious bitterballen! Decent portions at reasonable prices. The staff were welcoming and friendly too. The only downside was the bench seating, which could made a little more comfortable for a longer stay.

De Hoek is an institution, let’s state that upfront. Anyone who has to navigate through the city center after a night out looking for something warm and greasy will inevitably end up here. And fair is fair, the chicken leg in all its beauty, freshly slaughtered, is magnificent. Golden brown, juicy, and you can almost see it still basting in its own fat as it comes over the counter. At three in the morning, it tastes like a three-star dinner for which we should thank Marel on our bare knees. But that is where the magic ends. The interior feels as if it is made of cardboard and the ambiance is about as atmospheric as a lavender balm in the Pink; the idea is there, but the execution isn't. Anyone ordering a full meal here sober should expect some gastrointestinal discomfort afterwards.

I went there with my friend, and we had a great experience. The food was delicious. They serve full meals on a plate, but you can also choose fast food options such as burgers and wraps. We didn't have to wait long for our food. I ordered a wrap, which was very filling. My friend had the schnitzel, which came with a generous portion of French fries and a small side salad that had a very tasty dressing. They also gave us two tubes of sauce to use with our meal.

Didn't deliver my order, gaslighting me that the courier called my phone multiple times and rang the doorbell and then they threw the food away? They called me once on my mobile phone, from the restaurant location.... such BS never again

I got food poisoning from eating at this place, I had the salami pizza and I've been feeling sick for 24 hours, I'll never set foot in this restaurant again

The quality of this place has gotten much, much worse over the last few months. Today I’ve waited 40 minutes for barely warmed up chicken meat and undercooked fries. The only thing that was somewhat edible was small piece of salad. ( it’s simple shoarma ) 😅😂 i would like to add, restaurant was empty (: When I showed the undercooked fries to one of the employees, he took my plate with a look as if I was the one serving food that wasn’t fit to eat. There was no apology at all. The atmosphere has also become very unpleasant because of some of the male staff working there. I used to be a regular customer, but unfortunately I can no longer recommend this place. Today i have faced the worst possible experience with that kind of places, not worth to spend money guys!

Food is fine, lots of choice. It's just a shame that you have to pay 50 cents for the toilet after you just ate for next to nothing. 50 cents is the worst of me, but it's the thought that counts.

I asked for 'Parat oorlog' (even though it wasn't on the menu). And that's what I got. Fast and hot! And with onions.

The only decent things are the grilled meat and the prices, the kebab meat is awful, the pizzas seem frozen.

What a filthy place! Everything is touched with bare hands… Salad, onions, meat, chicken, etc., etc. And if gloves are worn, everything is handled with the same hands just as well. Some food is pre-cooked in a warming pan. The service is also arrogant and sometimes even rude.

I ordered a large portion of fries with 2 cheese puffs. The cheese puffs were quite tasty, but the large fries were more like medium fries, and the sauce that came with it was more onion than curry and mayonnaise.

I ordered a kapsalon with chicken strips, but the vegetables and sauces came separately and I could hardly taste any cheese, which was disappointing.

Fast service despite the crowds! Efficient staff. The kapsalon was very large. It really fills you up. Sauce was forgotten with an order, but this was handled appropriately.

Delicious food. Large menu. Very friendly staff. Plenty of seating. It can get quite busy on weekend evenings (especially if there's an event in town). There are restrooms. Payment is cash only. If you don't have cash, there's an ATM. Pizzas are available from 5:00 PM. We love coming here for dinner.

I did the math, and it's been 33 years since I first went to De Hoek. This place is legendary in Eindhoven. Don't expect "haute cuisine" or overly polite service. The people here are simply efficient. The food is otherwise excellent, and you get large portions. Because turnover is good, the food is always fresh. If you want a snack before or after your beer on Stratumseind, this is the go-to place.

You don't come here for the atmosphere, but to relax before or after a night out

Dry and unloving stuff. I asked for a bit more vegetables than meat with my kebab, and I got a bit of iceberg lettuce without any tomato or anything. The meat tasted awful, and I didn't even get any sauce with it. I did ask for it. Good people, by the way.

I recently ordered a large portion of fries with stew and received a generous portion of fries with a measly little container of stew. The proportions were simply wrong, and they didn't seem to care about it when I contacted them. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I never write reviews, but I'll make an exception for this one. What a delicious meal! A chicken breast platter with a large milkshake for just under €20. The chicken was deliciously seasoned, and the salad was crispy and fresh. The platter was truly generous. An added bonus: even in winter, you can order soft serve ice cream. Highly recommended!

staff is very rude. they probably have a lack of persons because they look very unhappy working there. there is a lady at the counter which was very rude with the clients when they asked her to confirm their order at the table. And when I wanted to order a bottle of water, the guy at the counter was walking past me several times, totally ignored me. Food is quite expensive and not all choices are tasty. Avoid shaorma fries. is not good…

Very bad service, they leave you standing there without a warning and u can barely understand what they are saying. Food gets easily mixed up aswell.

We had a very uncomfortable moment there last night... One of the men working there was observing our conversation and inappropriately came to participate in our conversation about one of our friend's dress and breasts. I said to him to 'Stop' and he insisted on continuing about my friend's breasts, while he touched his own breasts. It was very uncomfortable experience for us, and we think he was overstepping his boundaries. We will never go back there again.

What you see in the photo for 15 euros on November 27, 2024. You order like you would at a fast food restaurant, which is exactly what it is. They're open until 2:00 AM. It's quite crowded and noisy, but that could be because there was a football match that day between Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine) and PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands).

Shawarma and kebabs aren't meat. It must be plastic with something you chew...the falafel isn't good at all. I'm putting 1 because of cold Coke.

It's unbelievable I have to pay to use the rest room when I'm sitting at the restaurant. I'd try to argue about and the reasoning was that they have to pay for the cleaning. Take your own conclusions... I have paid for the menu, if that doesn't cover it, it should. It's unreal to see something like this at a restaurant.

The African woman who works there treats customers with arrogance. She doesn't seem to want to work. Luckily, the owner was there and helped us out. I've never encountered such a cold and arrogant person in a restaurant.

I was buy EVERY DAY something from them with my partner and today the cashier was rude, indifferent on us and he DONT accept cards, he was only able to take cash. Always there is “problem with the connection”or the POS machine “is broken” and they telling you that the have ATM over there. Terrible service…the guys next of them this “AMON” are very friendly,always with smile with good food also.

De Hoek is a place you don't want to be. Dirty, drunken old men harass women (read: assault them), but neither the staff nor security intervenes. They'd rather keep the peace than make women feel safe. We were sent away when a friend mentioned it. If you're a regular guy, you can have a nasty meal here, but if you're a woman, you'd better stay away, because none of the staff will do anything about you if something happens.

The food was delicious, it was nice and quiet, and service was prompt. The food was well-seasoned, and you get a generous portion. The owner is very friendly, so I definitely recommend it! Great food, great atmosphere!

Unfortunately one of the worst burgers I've ever eaten. Cheap meat patty, unimaginative ready-made sauce and mushy pickle. The fries weren't really good either, but at least they were edible. The gentleman behind the counter was also visibly annoyed when I placed the order.

I went to a Restaria de hoek and was dissatisfied with the food quality. I ate falafel sandwich with french fries and i think the prices were high compared to the quality of the food. The tables and chairs were dirty, with crumbs from previous customers on them, which I had to clean myself.

Ate here for the first time yesterday. Food was a bit disappointing, fairly high prices for what you get. Fries were fried hard, snack could have been cooked a little less. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the cafeteria itself was modern and beautifully clean.

The food is a disaster. No quality, I ordered ribs and they were terrible. No one removed the membrane from them before cooking them, they were rubbery and impossible to eat

We went 5 friends, the restaurant was almost empty when we enter. We ordered and he said take a seat we bring the food to the table. A group of 16 people came in, and they start to serve all and we waited around 15 min to get the order. Food was good and place also good

Delicious!!! Today I went to eat with my mother at this restaurant after a friend recommended it to me. I am a meat lover and after seeing some photos that my friend showed me I did not hesitate to come and try it first hand, the experience was great, the food was very good and above all the staff, the girl who served us was very kind at all times and always had a smile on her face while talking to us (I did not ask her name, but she is the girl with pink hair). Thank you very much for this experience, we will surely return!! By the way, the food is halal, which adds an extra point.

Las pizzas son geniales aquí, pero hoy he sido testigo de algo muy inquietante! Vi a uno de los miembros del personal que prepara la ensalada, orinando en el inodoro sin dejar de usar los guantes negros que usa para preparar la comida. Cuando volví al restaurante, me fijé y noté que la misma persona no se cambiaba los guantes, sino que seguía preparando comida. ¡Aunque se lavara las manos, no importa! ¡Esta práctica es totalmente inaceptable! Al jefe de Restaria: se trata de un joven que lleva mucho gel en el pelo negro oscuro que se peina hacia arriba. Mi sugerencia es despedirlo o aprenderle algún protocolo básico de higiene. La señora del baño sentada en la silla probablemente pueda confirmar lo que pasó y quién es el tipo en particular. Estaba jugando en su teléfono inteligente con una mano mientras orinaba con la otra mano. Ambas manos todavía tenían guantes negros para preparar la comida. Por el momento he terminado con Restaria. Por favor, hágamelo saber cuando haya abordado este tema! Entonces tal vez pueda reconsiderar su restaurante en el futuro. ¿Realmente no hemos aprendido nada del período COVID? ¿Qué pasó con la higiene alimentaria básica?

Nice big place. Various types of kebab-style food or something similar with large portions for 15 euros is enough for the munchies.
