Great service, fantastic location, and delicious food! A section of the terrace is smoke-free, which is great for us, and there's also a place for smokers. Highly recommended: the chocolate soufflé! 😍

A culinary highlight! The oysters were simply fantastic – fresh and full of flavor. The team was incredibly warm and attentive. Accompanied by a glass of excellent wine – a perfect evening! Definitely worth a visit!

We enjoyed delicious fish dishes during the month of the sea. Sole as it should be, and the service was excellent and attentive.

We had a delicious meal yesterday! The kitchen prepared everything perfectly, and the service was super attentive! Not cheap main courses, but the quality was absolutely worth it.

We enjoy coming here every year because the quality is always good. The fish, in particular, was fantastic! My compliments. What really suffered was the burger. I had it years ago and this time I ordered it for my son. It was cooked all the way through, the size of a shoe sole. About a tablespoon of onions, some lettuce, and bacon. The bun was over-toasted. Sorry, but for the price and the overall quality, it's just completely off. Please make it with love again! Otherwise, it was a lovely evening as always, and we'll be back next year to make improvements. 😉

Made a reservation at Abby's last night and yes, it was King's Night, so busy. At the table at 6pm and ordered at 6:15pm. Around 1845 we realized that something had gone wrong with the order and that it would be processed urgently. Around 1915 we asked for attention again...no food on the way yet. After asking again later where it was, it would take another 3 minutes. When and then after 10 minutes there was still no food, we left with an empty stomach...

We were with a group of 11 people yesterday and we received fantastic help from the very first moment. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and worked hard to make us feel completely at ease. The food was absolutely delicious – prepared with care and perfectly seasoned. As icing on the cake, we received delicious limoncello shots on the house. Thank you for this wonderful experience, we felt very welcome. We will definitely come back!

Delicious food with excellent service. The only downside is that there are a lot of tables in a limited space. This means that when it is full it is very noisy.

What a delicious meal we had again! It's been a while, but I think they've raised the bar. An assortment with various tasty starters followed by delicious main courses (rib-eye and fish were mainly on the table) and a ditto dessert. All this while enjoying accompanying wines, good company and excellent care by a professional and very friendly hostess and host! Compliments and see you soon!

You can always sit comfortably at Abyss Alkmaar. Cozy atmosphere, the service is good and the menu is top notch. Lots of choice, regardless of whether you want to have lunch or dinner. They also often have weekly specials outside the menu. It's actually striking that it doesn't have at least 1 Michelin star, because the dishes are never disappointing. The location right next to Piet's Mill is also cozy

Wonderfully aired. Even simple dishes like Club Sandwich taste really good here! Can't wait to have dinner here sometime. The food was also good and the staff was great! I find the interior a bit variable (one side of the restaurant is much more pleasantly decorated than the other side)

Very tasty food. Make sure you don't go to the table in the corner with the large bunch of reeds. That's really not fun.

Had lunch here with my wife. The place was packed, which is always a good sign. We ordered 2 Viognier (dry white wine) with 2 Spa red. I personally had the brown country bread with salmon omelette. And my wife had the Abbey's Club (club sandwich). Both were nice and big, and more than enough. Both were also very generously invested. The Club had nice, large pieces of tender chicken and was seasoned in a way that we had never tasted before on a club sandwich. Very tasty! The salmon omelet also had a lot of salmon in it. Which is simply a great combination. Egg with salmon. It was also a nice thick omelette with those nice thick slices of bread. As it should be! The service was also as it should be. Friendly, helpful and attentive. Recommended when you are in Alkmaar!

Nice restaurant with a very cozy terrace that is open all day and is always quite full. Small but balanced selection of dishes. Relatively expensive, but good quality.

The waitress didn't pay any attention to us outside. I went in and found friendly service. Ate turbot with risotto. Very fresh and tasty.

We had a very pleasant evening at this restaurant. The appetizers were superb! Actually the best out of all food/drinks we had. Also the main dishes and dessert were good. We had some white and some red wine. Service was very good and pleasant. It is possible to pay by card. I would definitely come back to try further dishes.

Had a super delicious meal at Abby's restaurant tonight. We had the 5 course surprise menu, all dishes were delicious and we also received large portions. The wines are also very tasty and paired well with the dishes. The service was very friendly and very professional. The restaurant has a good price-quality ratio. Amazing food! We ordered the crispy rice with salmon, Sashimi & dumplings for starters. The fish was fresh and the dumplings seasoned to perfection. Main was top tiers, as for dessert you must try the chocolate soufflé (it’s more a cake but it was delicious) Worth a visit when in Alkmaar.

Very nice place with a nice meal. But if you start with orange juice that has not been stirred in (which was solved by another waiter) you might actually just have to leave. There were three of us, one a mussel pan the other a tournedos and I had something that was not on the menu but off the menu. If it is still not tasty and you have reported this, you do not expect this dish to cost 62.50, it was a boeuf dish with a strange white edge of fat, a mushroom that had walked over a grill and a potato salad that tasted like fish, so half also not eaten and reported. I had a wonderful evening and didn't actually look at the price until I came across the receipt the next day, so I was really shocked by the price of this dish alone. This is a downer for me because I also have to work for my money and if the most expensive thing on the menu does not exceed €40, it is certainly not worth the price. So a big setback

Went away for a weekend and had dinner here. If you go to Alkmaar center, you should not miss this. Make sure to make a reservation because it is often full. Atmosphere, food and service are great! Extensive menu and drinks menu.

Pleasant surprise! I'm not from Alkmaar myself, so I don't know the catering industry there. Chose this restaurant at random. And we were very pleased with that choice. Atmosphere was great, pleasantly busy on Saturday evening. Nicely decorated with low and high tables. Food was super tasty. Sandwich with dip/butter as a starter, carpaccio as a starter and bavette from the grill as a main course. As requested, the bavette was perfectly medium-rare. The portions were a good size. Service was smooth and attentive. Prices are reasonable, especially when you consider the quality of the food and service. Would definitely go back there if I'm in the area ;)

Phenomenal! The wines were neatly topped up. I have dined in several top restaurants and this restaurant is certainly one of the best. The waitresses were very attentive. I am very pleased with the ambiance. If I didn't have a meeting, I would definitely have stayed put for a while. In short, this restaurant is recommended. I'll definitely return!

Yesterday we went to Abby's for dinner after a tip from friends. Policy (on Fridays at least) is two shifts: either until 7:30 PM or after 8 PM dinner. We chose the first option and were there at 5:30 PM. Coincidentally, we came across friends who were having drinks, so we sat at the table there until 6 p.m. Requested a card immediately at 6 p.m. and ordered quickly. Starter came quickly, as did main course. The fish tartare starter was especially tasty. Around 6.45 pm it started to fill up, which meant there was less time for us. We had finished the main course for a while and around 7.15 pm someone came to our table. Could we order another dessert? Of course was the answer. After looking at the menu, we opted for coffee and a chocolate. It was now 7.20 pm. The order was then passed on to a colleague, who in turn passed this on to the head of service. He sent his colleague back to our table and told her that the time was up. The next guests arrived a little earlier and were already waiting outside. Would we please leave, sorry, sorry. You send your customers away at 7.25 pm for two coffees and a chocolate. And I don't even think that's the worst thing. The ladies who served us were great and were genuinely very annoyed that we had to leave. From the head of service. When putting on our coats, I made eye contact with this gentleman who was carelessly paying another customer. How did my gaze feel, but deliberately lingered so as not to have to face me. Then have the courage to say it yourself and come with a voucher for a glass of wine for next time or something like that. One star is for the delicious food and the other for the generally good service. The -3 stars is for the chef service.

Nice ambiance, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation and friendly professional service. Extra bonus, our request, the steak bavette cooked medium rare, was executed perfectly by the chef. Abby's is a restaurant that we will definitely visit more often.

On New Year's Eve we didn't have much choice because many restaurants were closed. We thought the atmosphere and service were very good. Unfortunately, we found the flavors of our starter (duck liver and vitello tonato) and main course (venison and red gurnard) not very refined. The desserts, on the other hand, were refined in taste. We went out for dinner for the 3rd night in a row and because of that it was hard not to compare it to our previous experiences that week.

The four of us had dinner here. We ate and drank everything everyone wanted so the bill was also hefty, 448 euros. Because one of us felt nauseous after dinner, he continued to drink tap water after having had 2 glasses of wine. It turned out when we got the bill, we were charged 50 cents for each glass of tap water. I find this very sad. This is the last time for us that we come here.
