Restaurant Vito in Centrum

It all started when we didn't see an Italian in the kitchen, which immediately raised our suspicions. My stepdaughter is vegetarian and wanted a veggie pizza. What was our surprise? It had bacon on it, grrr. And then there was the waitress. Brrrrr. A cheerful face lights up the whole day, pfff, what a slob. Then you order a beer, it takes half an hour, and in the meantime, another colleague comes to take the order. Let's not even mention the meals. Undoubtedly, there will be people who are probably not used to anything and will find the food there absolutely delicious. As a half-Italian whose Italian father was a chef, this place is a nightmare. We'd rather go to Roberto's.

We ate delicious pizzas and the service was very friendly and attentive. The only thing that was annoying was the noise level.

The food was good. The price-performance ratio was decent. We sat outside on the promenade. Unfortunately, there wasn't much shade. Don't forget sunscreen and sunglasses. :-) But otherwise, everything was great. Friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend it.

At restaurant Vito you are always sitting comfortably. The atmosphere itself on the water is friendly, the food and service are good, in short: you can go here for a lunch or dinner. The owner is also very friendly. If you like a beer, then the choice of specialty beers is sometimes a bit limited, but because it is an Italian restaurant, you can expect that imo. Also a nice service: recently ordered the drinks box, highly recommended. Great assortment of snacks to sit at home with a small group (a box is enough for about 4 people in terms of portion, then you are not full). Definitely a good price/quality ratio, because there are also some cheeses included, for example. Restaurant Vito is an asset to culinary Alkmaar.

Spontaneous lunch on Saturday. Didn't feel like standard (uitsmijter, sandwich, croquettes) and then we ended up here. Lovely bench on a sheltered terrace. Friendly welcome and service and the food... no words for it... so incredibly delicious. I can't describe it, just go and taste it.

I will start my story with "Fake-Itallian" restaurant and I will explain why. When you have been to Italy this restaurant is paying no effort to authentic Italian meals and rather pays attention on the outside for the Italian feeling and even that is too much. Clearly vissible there is a Dutch owner/partner behind it. The deer steak (without any flavor) came with "Boerenkool" leafs and sauerkraut. The Tirimasu is a joke! No alcohol in it just cream without flavor! If you look for a good Italian restaurant in Alkmaar please find the next one.

Nice spot on the water. Only the wrong owner who does not think along with the customer! What an arrogance of the owner, Unfortunately Dennis has been fired and the place is going downhill, tasteless pizzas. Ate and drank (with a friendly girl as staff) and wanted to pay €92.00, make it €100.00. But pay with a nice gift voucher of €125.00 but the owner told me (and I come here regularly) that he would not give money back, he is not allowed to do so anymore by the accountant, he hid behind it, but I did not ask for that either, but did not get a voucher or other compensation, also not allowed by the accountant, hahahaha, well then I have been here for the last time. But the arrogant boss did not care at all and he said: Then you will never come again. I threw him the voucher of 125 with the text: stick this up your ass! Because that is not how you are suited for this profession. In any case, try to keep your customers satisfied

Just booked 'on a whim', but very successful. Asked in advance for a quiet table and that was also arranged. Super friendly and helpful staff. Lots of choice of original dishes with influences from various Italian regions. A very successful evening out with the family.

We were with the boat in front of the restaurant and it looked very inviting not to cook ourselves but to eat in the restaurant despite the somewhat negative reviews which we did not recognize at all afterwards. Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere with friendly, knowledgeable service. As far as we are concerned, definitely recommended.

Offended by the owner. Due to being busy, he lost his hosting duties completely. This man should be ashamed and is not at all suitable for the catering industry. The food was also not good, but the behavior of this gentleman took the cake. So a bad memory of my 70th birthday. We were 10 people. SHAME!!!!

At Vito in Alkmaar we enjoyed a delicious five-course menu full of top ingredients and pure flavors. The dishes were a treat, the atmosphere casual and cozy. Okay, sometimes we had to wait a while, but hey - with such a nice ambiance and delicious food, that shouldn't spoil the fun. Recommended!

What a fantastic evening we had in this great restaurant, thank you. Everything was right. We were 4 people and all 4 had the 5 course surprise dinner. Every course was explained with such enthusiasm by the nice professional service, really great. The wine was delicious too. It is a nice, cozy atmosphere, we were (almost) the last in the shop and could have stayed there for another two hours. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back. 👌🏾

Very nice and good service. Gluten-free and pregnant food was no problem. This is not a traditional Italian, but that is precisely why it is surprisingly good.

Waited an hour for our food, even though we had called to place our order. Fries, burrata, a warm-up lasagna and a dry pizza. The staff doesn't care about you and has a big mouth. We were told that we would get something extra because of the long wait, but after trying to contact us several times we were always turned away. So only eat here when the place is empty, and even then I doubt you will be helped quickly!

We had a good meal, but if you celebrate something special with 12 family members and also make a reservation, you expect to get 1 table. We got 2 and ate with our backs to each other. The very junior staff does not know how to deal with this and cannot make up for our negative experience upon arrival with (small) compensation. NOTHING was offered. The youthful female manager is too inexperienced and blue to do anything. Even a family member who asked for sparklers or something else for dessert for the birthday boy or girl as extra attention to the celebration was not heard. The staff is far too young to deal with unexpected situations. The boss wasn't there. Tip, make sure you get 1 table when you book here with a larger group

We had dinner here with a group of 12 people and everyone was more than satisfied. The food was of excellent quality, the service was good and the price was certainly reasonable.

The chef's menu was truly delicious. Sea bass with eggplant and rice. The panna cotta and scropino were a worthy end to the evening.

Food was okay. I found the menu very unclear. Many Italian terms that the staff sometimes did not know what they meant. It's difficult if you're not familiar with Italian cuisine.

Delicious food, we come regularly, but what a deception when we got the bill, 3 euros for parmesan cheese on the pasta??!! Never experienced an Italian restaurant where you have to pay for the cheese on the pasta. A shame! Then you must be desperate.

Very nice, modern designed restaurant right on the Turfmarktbrug. On the homepage we found a note for a parking garage just around the corner. Communication in English worked without any problems. For the Aperol Spritz, a long, thin noodle was used instead of the annoying paper straws - creative & authentic! 👍 The mixed starter was simply delicious. In addition to bitterballen, classic bruschetta, green olives, tartar the manzo and tuna salad. The pizza (or pinsa) is just as delicious, airy dough, thin base, the crust is not too thick or too thin and generously topped. Only after the main course did it take a long time for a waitress to come to us again (probably because of a shift change).

Great location with a view of the water. Nice ambience tastefully decorated. Very very tasty pizza. The antipasti platters also looked great. However, we did not order these. Nice service. Something was also offered for children.

Definitely a top restaurant to eat in Alkmaar, remains a favorite for me. In addition, the choice of an open kitchen is an added value as you can see how much passion and attention all dishes are made by the Chefs! The layout of the plates is really a joy to look at. Compliments to you and I will come and enjoy Vito again soon!

The food was super tasty. We both ordered pizzas and they were really perfect. The service could be improved. The service didn't seem very friendly or accommodating. The view was great too. Here you can sit in the sun in the afternoon.

Well, since we apparently looked too much like tourists, we weren't offered a place. We were told at 1:45 p.m. they wouldn't open until 2 p.m., we came back at 2 p.m. and they turned their backs on us and then didn't talk to us anymore. Well no matter. We then spent a good 3-digit amount somewhere else. Very condescending.

An absolutely amazing experience! The service was super friendly and attentive, able to explain the menu in English and also recommended dishes by our preferences. The seating inside was fully booked so I recommend making a reservation or come early (ish). At about 5 pm there were still places available outside by the water which added to a nice, chilled and romantic atmosphere❤️ We didnt have to wait too long for our meals and MY! The food was absolutely amazing! Professionally executed on the plates, the bruschetta had the softest bread dough I have ever had! The meatballs were a great experience and very tasty! The pizza was amazing-highly recommended! 🍕If you want a bit of Italy in the centre if Alkmaar, go for it! 😎

Tasty food but badly organised with the service at the point our evening was a bit ruined. Between dishes the waiting time was unnecessary too long and there has not been consideration about the fact we were there with 2 kids and a baby. It took us in total 3 hours to have dinner...

Delicious food. This was the 2nd time and they have such a high standard. The staff knows what hospitality is and are super sweet to their guests. We will definitely have a nice evening here again.

I really like the pasta and risotto dishes here. Nicely decorated restaurant and terrace located on a quay with boats. I find some dishes a bit small in terms of portion. Fortunately, the fries end up in a jenga tower. The desserts are great! The service is attentive and often friendly. Ample direct parking (including parking garage, paid).
