Had such a lovely meal here, their food was so delicious! I would definitely recommend and go back again. Thank you for a great evening.

It was our first time visiting with family. The food was little bit pircy but really delicious, and the staff aswell as the owner was really friendly and welcoming. Great experience.

I was really looking forward to returning here after the renovation. What a disappointment. The atmosphere, the food and the entire entourage are nowhere near what they used to be. It also turns out that there is a completely different owner. I myself will not return here. Too bad, we always had such a good time here. No Mek, different chef and nowhere near the experience of the past.

We did not manage to eat. Opening times are incorrect. We went at 12:30 on a Sunday and it was closed.

Tuve el brunch más delicioso en el restaurante Azmarino en De Pijp el domingo pasado. El personal fue muy servicial cuando les dije que era vegano y me preparé una fuente de platos veganos para comer. El servicio fue de primera categoría, un cambio bienvenido del servicio habitual esperado en Amsterdam. Este definitivamente se convertirá en mi lugar favorito. ¡Muy recomendable!

Food was tasty, but the servings were ridiculously small. For example 4€ for 2 tiny samossas. Cutlery was not provided, we had to use our hands. But that made it somehow authentic and we liked it. The service was very kind. I would rate it higher if servings were bigger.

Azmarino has been and still is my favourite Ethiopian Restaurant in Amsterdam. I recommend to order the mixed plate, with the chef’s selection. It’s a variety of meats, vegetables and flavours. Or completely vegetarian if you like. Choose spicy or not spicy, whatever you prefer. Ethiopian food is eaten by hand, using the injera (savory pancake) to grab the food. The restaurant is run by a very friendly couple, and prices are very reasonable!

He tenido la suerte de disfrutar de la cocina etíope en cuatro continentes diferentes durante un período de 35 años, y puedo decir con convicción que la injera en azmarino no tiene rival. Our friend took us here and she couldn’t pick a better place for dinner. Delicious food, drinks and very friendly atmosphere. The way the food is served is unlike anywhere else we’ve been before. If you ever come to Amsterdam you should definitely go here and experience it 👌🏻

A good taste of East Africa in Amsterdam. They were out of their signature salad. Injira was also too sour. Otherwise good food that's affordable

Heerlijk gegeten. We hebben de kok een variatie van gerechten laten maken. Half vegetarisch een half vlees. Medium gekruid. We kregen een grote schaal met van alles en nog wat. Eten doe je met je handen en een pannenkoek van zuurdesem. Heerlijk. Afrikaans bier erbij, een mango en een banaanbier en een "gewoon" Afrikaans biertje. Ook erg lekker allemaal. Vriendelijke meneer die ons hielp met bestellen en erg geduldig was. Ik ga hier zeker nog een keer heen. Top!

Great African restaurant. Food was freshly prepared and the Mongozo beer is definitely worth a try as it comes in unique flavors; we had coconut and mango. We ordered the chef's combinations special, which came with chicken, pork, and lamb. The lamb was our favorite. Since the food is made fresh, it does take a while, but worth the wait.

If you want to go for a classic Ethiopian experience, just order the main course and some beers. Be sure to order the mango, coconut or banana beer. They're served in a calabash. The starter and the desert leave much to be desired. Our starter wasn't dressed at all, just two tiny samosa's with sweet chili sauce. And our desert was clearly just taken out of the package and put in the microwave. We buy the same chocolate souffle all the time from Albert Heyn. It's tasty, sure. But this isn't why you go to a restaurant.

This is a real gem in Amsterdam: great food, super friendly service, reasonable prices and you don't have to make a reservation! Absolutely love it!

A nice Ethiopian restaurant with tasty dishes and great beers. Loved the mango beer served in a coconut :-) I also love the fact that you're supposed to eat with your hands from a big plate and share all the food together. Definitely a bonding experience.
