Wij vonden het een ongastvrije ontvangst aangezien onze hond niet op het terras welkom was dit is vrij apart in het hond vriendelijke noord Holland en hebben hier dus niet geluncht

The food was very tasty. Portions could be a bit larger. Prices are on the higher end. This was our second time here, and it was very good.

The cozy restaurant offers a variety of food choices. We stopped here for dinner on our BENELUX trip. The only restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the accommodation that is open after 8:00 PM.

We wanted to have a nice meal while on vacation. Unfortunately, our dog wasn't welcome, not even on the terrace. So we canceled the reservation and looked for another restaurant. I think dogs should at least be allowed on the terrace.

Super tasty fish, large portion

A wonderful Seaside restaurant where we enjoyed fresh clams and oysters, caught straight out of the sea. Their assortment of fish is prepared expertly, and the taste is great. For the children there are also fries and local (fried) delights or nuggets.

Halfway between Haarlem and Dokkum, a nice place to meet family...delicious fish!

A lovely lunch stop with a friend in Den Oever. I had a large fish salad, which comes with smoked salmon, smoked eel, dutch shrimps and tuna. I had never tried eel or dutch shrimp before, and they were amazing! Fresh food with great service and atmosphere - highly recommend.

Saturday 14 June with a group of 9 people sat on the terrace in the afternoon. After the Seal Tour we dined inside in the evening. The service was hospitable and friendly. The food was excellent. In short, a great restaurant, nice service and excellent food.

The restaurant is located right in the harbor. We were able to enjoy the outdoor terrace in the perfect weather. We were absolutely thrilled with the food. The noise from the machines working in the harbor was a bit annoying, but understandable. So what, it was still nice, and it would have been quieter inside. The service was friendly but a bit curt. They didn't notice when my drink was empty. I'm used to being asked if I'd like anything else in those cases. But maybe that's Dutch reserve 😉 and I don't consider it a serious disadvantage.

How incredibly nice! to be able to sit without dirty or loud dogs.. a restaurant is simply not a place for Pets. The food is well prepared but not special also very few vegetables.. the service very friendly and fast. Toilets were perfectly clean.

We planned to have a delicious lunch, but we were informed that dogs are not allowed on the terrace. I have never experienced that dogs are not welcome on a terrace. Such a shame, Basalt restaurant has been canceled for us.

I wouldn't know, we came by bike with the dog. Wanted to sit on the terrace. It is above a prohibition sign for dogs. I noticed that it also applies on the terrace, so I turned around. Never before has my dog ​​not been welcome on the terrace.

A cozy restaurant on the harbour. A nice, quiet atmosphere with excellent service. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch; fish quartet, lobster croquette sandwich and flammkuchen. All equally tasty and value for money. This was the second time I had lunch here, both times equally enthusiastic.

Fresh oysters from the mudflats, delicious. The cress is not such a good idea. If you eat that, you will no longer taste the delicious oysters. Don't do it again.

Had lunch with a reasonable group of people. Good and fast service. People were regularly asked if anyone wanted something to drink. Food was served to everyone at the same time, really great. In terms of atmosphere, I think it could be a little better, I thought it was quite dark now. Also highly recommended.

Before we entered the Afsluitdijk it was lunch time, so we chose this restaurant where we received a friendly welcome and had a really delicious lunch with super fresh fish dishes. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant. On the harbour, thank goodness the meat dishes are very tasty. I don't like fish, so I don't have high expectations for the meat dishes, but they are prepared with care. Spareribs were surprisingly tasty. Friendly, nice service, I feel great there.

Tja, wat over dit restaurant te zeggen: laat je niet misleiden door de ‘R’ op het dak: dit is zeker niet een standaard wegrestaurant (los van de locatie waardoor het sowieso geen wegrestaurant is, maar zo’n ‘R’ op het dak geeft mij altijd zo’n soort vibe). Zeker de omweg waard, heerlijke verse vis, zeer vriendelijke bediening, helemaal top!

Unfortunately the cod was not as expected. Water on plate…. Looked like it wasn't defrosted properly from the freezer. Waitress would pass it on to the cook. Didn't come with an answer. Too bad because we often had a delicious meal here in the past. And now I have come from Amsterdam in vain to eat delicious fish in the harbor again.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Der Service ließ vom Betreten bis zur Begleichung der Rechnung vieles zu wünschen übrig. Der Gipfel war bei der Bestellung von Tong Slips die Antwort auf die Frage " was gibt es dazu " Antwort " N I X ". Bei dem Service des Fisch habe ich nach dem Teller für die Gräten gefragt. Antwort " der älteren Dame: ich habe nur zwei Hände". Na denn! Ich habe das Gefühl gehabt das deutsche Gäste nicht willkommen sind.

Het eten was ok, de porties (te) klein. Als je een hoofdgerecht bestelt, moet je alle bijgerechten apart bijbestellen voor te hoge prijzen. Bakje friet 4,50, salade of boontjes weer ca 4 euro per portie. De bediening maakte een fout bij de bediening. Dat werd niet netjes opgelost. Al met al geen aanrader deze zaak. Ik wil best wel betalen voor goed eten, maar dit was te duur. We kregen als bijgerecht een theelepel rabarber in een jampotje. De rabarber smaakte te zuur en bevatte veel te veel kaneel. Bij de gebakken aardappeltjes zou spek geleverd worden, die moest je echter zoeken met een vergrootglas.

We loved the food and the atmosphere of this place. It's a family friendly place and the staff was very sweet with out child. We went there for dinner and the food was really delicious.

Goede sliptongen gegeten! En een lekker glas wijn erbij. Maar wat het verschil maakte, was de stralende serveerster die ons echt in de watten legde en ons het gevoel gaf speciale gasten te zijn. Bravo!

Leuk restaurant met twee terrassen, gelegen op het haventerrein. Goede parkeermogelijkheid. Menukaart (lunch) met ruim voldoende keuze. Lekkere maaltijdsalades (wij hadden de vissalade vis en de salade gerookte kip). Vriendelijke bediening.

We ate very good fish here after our arrival. The service was very friendly and attentive. A table in the shade on the terrace, overlooking the harbor, made our visit a relaxing one!

We have eaten here a few times and like to come especially from Hoorn to walk along the Wadden Sea and have something to eat at this nice restaurant. Nice location, had some delicious Dover Sole here. Be aware that the meals do not come with vegetables/fries/potatoes and these need to be ordered separately. One big advantage is no dogs.

Tiny portions and very expensive for mediocre quality, no longer recommended. The first visit 6 years ago, then it got worse over the years and now with 3 people hungry and disappointed.

I was never really a fish eater but I have been converted over recent months. Basalt is one of those converters. I had the best fish soup ever followed by baked cod in mustard sauce, perfectly cooked, served with a small jar of rhubarb(which worked) and mushed sweet potato (which didn't). Great setting by the harbour and the fish market. Friendly staff.
