Our waitress, (Christine? Cathleen?) was fantastic! Highly recommend this restaurant! Food looked and tasted amazing!

They even asked about drinks and gave us the menu. But they didn't ask us what we wanted to eat.

The absolute best nachos in the country!If you are a nacho lover, you have to visit Belvedere in Gouda. I ordered their nachos and was completely blown away.Most places skimp on the ingredients, but Belvedere serves an incredibly generous portion. They use high-quality, real tortilla chips as a base, and they don't just dump cheese on top—the chips are beautifully layered with plenty of actual, melted cheese throughout the entire dish.It comes served with a rich, flavorful guacamole and cool crème fraîche on the side, which perfectly balance the warm, cheesy crunch. It was pure perfection from the first bite to the last.Hands down the best nachos I have had in the Netherlands so far. Highly recommended!

Desapointed. We ordered a cheese fondue , 'boeren fondue' . Bad idea. It has the texture of a soup. The taste was ok. The serveur saw it and brought it back to the kitchen, this time it had the texture of a sauce and had a taste of farine. ...

Unfortunately not tasty, at all. We could not eat it.

Came to Gouda on the way to the Hague. Glad we stopped here for for what should have been an apple, but ended up as a 3 course meal. The piri piri shrimps, Gouda Fondue and Tiramisu was amazing

We had just arrived today and had had a quick drink here this afternoon before grocery shopping. We immediately made a reservation for the evening since we really liked the menu. For me: Creamy cheese soup Risotto Tiramisu My partner: Salmon tartare Beef tenderloin Crème Brûlée A three-course menu of your choice costs €36.50. A very reasonable price! Oh yes, the limoncello spritz was delicious too.......

Nice restaurant in Gouda with a great menucard, great staff and a decent meal. Nothing special about the food, but the rest overcompensate for it.

We had a nice meal and ordered a 3-course menu for 36.50. A reasonable price for good food. However, I paid part of it with a gift voucher that Belvedere had affiliated itself with. The result was having to pay an extra 10 euros per person because the menu is not valid with the voucher. You only find that out afterwards. #fail

You have to order fries separately; for almost 5 euros you get an anti-waste mini fryer basket with a portion of fries fit for a 10-year-old or something like that. My food was cold, well-cooked, the sauce quite basic, and not very flavorful. The service was poor regarding the waiter we had; it's a shame this place has gone downhill so much. The hospitality industry in the Netherlands is being destroyed by this environmental craze; portions of fries are far too small while at least 50% of people—men certainly want two portions—need them. Complete madness; you're better off going to a good cafeteria for fries and ordering a large portion. Restaurants are putting themselves out of the market this way; you won't see me ordering a menu there anymore. This will likely apply to more places. Fries with the skin on suddenly seem to be the trend; stop the nonsense, I peel my potatoes at home too. Thanks to the government for bringing this about, but also to the owner who is going along with this madness; good luck with that, dead end. I am ashamed in front of foreigners who come to eat; bizarre experience.

Very friendly towards English speakers and their kids menu was great (chicken nuggets also had some carrot and cucumber). The food is also excellent, especially their chips, and with generous portions. I'm glad we went here.

Try the Gouda cheese soup, very popular restaurant would advise booking. Initial service slower than most but it’s worth the wait, once ordered the food comes on time and it’s delicious.

Delicious food, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. At first glance, the restaurant appears to be a cozy, simple finger food place. The dinner menu is concise but very varied and tasty. There's something for everyone. Great appetizers. Centrally located, right by the market, with a lovely terrace.

We enjoyed a 3-course menu with 7 people. The lady who served us gave us the feeling that we were in her private home and that she had to make us feel comfortable in every way, which she succeeded in doing excellently!!

We sat at a small table right by the market. A very nice spot. Unfortunately, that was also the only good thing about Belvedere. We had chosen cheese fondue, but I have never eaten such a bad cheese fondue. There was a skin on top, (recognizably) Parmesan cheese had been sprinkled in, and someone had added some curry and, above all, a lot of extra salt. This main course appeared within 5 minutes of our arrival, which was a bit too fast. There was insufficient (stale and dried-out) bread and a small enamel cup with some completely dried-out carrot, cucumber, celery, and radish. We forgone dessert and coffee. We ate there because my husband had turned 79, but this was a very un-festive meal.

Tomato soup looked like it contained cheese, something to do with the meatballs. Carpaccio more than fine, freshly grated cheese. Pork tenderloin satay tasted like liver, completely overcooked. Fish and chips okay. Panna cotta was mousse, sickly sweet meringues with very bitter orange marmalade, Dame Blanche had milk chocolate that was very runny at room temperature. The ice cream in both seemed to have been scooped in advance and refrozen? Super friendly staff, great service, but our taste doesn't click with the kitchen. Unfortunately!

It's a shame that shrinkflation is hitting here too. The satay menu came with 2 skewers; as far as I know, there are normally always 3. The service was extremely friendly.

When we go to Gouda we make a beeline for this place. Its comfortable, friendly and the food is good. Its a great place to watch the market square and all it's goings on. But what really draws me back every time is the cheese soup. Totally delicious.

We had another lovely time in Gouda this year during the Whitsun weekend, just like last year. After a good experience at Belvedere last year, we reserved a table in advance for two evenings this year. We had a pleasant time on the terrace and enjoyed a delicious meal. The staff were friendly. Especially the girl with braces who is also on the website. So young and already so customer-friendly... you have to cherish that.

The only downside was that on Saturday evenings, after the market closes, the cleaning service cleans the market square, and one of those carts almost drives onto the terrace... Of course, the restaurant can't do anything about this. It is just a lot of noise..

Everything was perfect, the atmosphere and the food

We came on a Saturday evening and received a very warm welcome. The meal was excellent, both in taste and presentation, and a menu in French was available. Furthermore, the heated seats and outdoor patio heaters were very pleasant.

The food was fine and the staff very friendly, but it's a shame we had a 3-course menu and we couldn't use the dinner gift card when paying.

A prime example of actually very expensive hospitality, and here too, the application of shrinkflation. The phenomenon of getting less for the same price. On paper, it sounds very appealing, but on your plate, the execution is too simple. A fried egg with eggs fried in a pan that was too hot, without any garnish because the spoonful of Russian salad was declined. The used bread added no value. Dry industrial bread. The "luxury" toasted sandwich was clearly substandard. Here too, it started with bread; essentially a bare plate with 2 slices of toasted sandwich for almost 14 euros. The club sandwich was satisfactory, though. The staff was friendly and efficient, but they failed to get the correct order to the table. With 3 people at the table, they delivered the right thing twice, but the 3rd person had to wait 3 times for their food. It started when the others were finished. The offered drink was only for the 3rd person, while the group shared in the mistake.

We had reserved a spot on the outdoor terrace. It was very comfortable to sit there. It was covered, with heaters and heated chairs. We chose the set menu and had a delicious meal. We also found the staff friendly!

Cozy place for a drink. Good service, polite, fast, and efficient. We weren't approached in between with the question: "would you like to order something else?", which we personally appreciate. When we wanted to order something ourselves, there was always someone nearby who spoke to us and acted decisively/handled the matter well.

It was my first time in Gouda, so I relied on the reviews. I was right. The restaurant, right in the center, was crowded. However, even though we hadn't booked, they found us a table for two. Friendly service, excellent food. The menu doesn't offer a wide selection, but it's better to choose small and well-prepared. I should also add that the outdoor seating, despite it being a cold day, was comfortable.

We have been coming here for over 10 years now, and every time we are pleasantly surprised by the friendly and professional service, the good quality of the food, and the wide selection on the menu—all for a reasonable price. Belvedère is highly recommended.

It's worth a visit. However, I don't think animals should be allowed...we were inside...it had rained, and a dog was allowed inside. I think it's even forbidden to bring animals into a restaurant...except on the terrace?

NEVER AGAIN! Both my friend and I had stomach pain and diarrhea after lunch there yesterday, food poisoning. To think I have taken both of my 3 yo and baby there to eat. NEVER AGAIN!

The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and quick. The restaurant itself is small and rather uninviting. We had a table right next to a large, rotating, illuminated cake display case. This was quite distracting, so we moved to another table, but the aisle was so narrow that the staff kept bumping into my chair as they walked past. Unfortunately, it wasn't what we expected. We won't be returning to this restaurant.

We had a delicious meal here. They don't have an extensive menu, but they do have plenty of variety. On a Saturday, they have two shifts, and in the first shift, everything is served with a certain haste. If you want to go to the theater afterward, you'll be done in plenty of time.

A gem at the market! Delicious cheesecake for dessert with baked salmon for the main course. It's great that they have a two-course dinner special; it keeps dining out affordable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Perfectly located across from City Hall. Coffee and delicious warm apple strudel complete the experience. We'll definitely be back.

The atmosphere is great and the food was delicious! Our daughter accidentally knocked over her mug of hot chocolate. The waitress gave her a new one, which she didn't have to do, so sweet! The heated cushions are also ideal!

Terrible service. We never go there but had a dinner voucher with no idea if it was still valid. So we checked with the wait staff first – yes, it is still valid and there is still 100 euros on it. When paying, it turned out the voucher was not valid and they said you cannot blame them for the mistake. No apology, no compensation. I am an entrepreneur myself and I would handle this differently. So, not worth repeating.

I liked the place. It was crowded, but we found a place. The waiters were friendly, responded quickly to requests, and were polite. The order was served in 10 minutes. Everything tasted good. I ordered cheese soup and a burger for myself. It was too much to eat all by myself. Overall, I was satisfied with the place.
