Restaurant Bombarino in Wijk 00: Valkenburg

Every year when we spend a week in Limburg, we always come to you for lunch or dinner (or both). We had a delicious lunch with you today. Everything was perfect again, from the lovely and friendly staff to the fantastic food! Also great for our three little dogs 😉

I'm going back there to eat tonight.

Ate there today using Social Deal. Friendly staff. The food was delicious. Definitely worth repeating.

Friendly, cheerful service. We enjoyed the food and the attentive young man who saw that we had gotten warm after the fennel soup and moved us close to the door (fresh air) 😆 🤣 Worth a repeat visit and I definitely recommend restaurant Bombarino.

We had amazing dinner for 4 people at this place

Paid 97.50 for 2 Satay desserts and Coffee Fries so hard they were inedible Satay is so grey from pre-cooking Coffee lukewarm and Dame Blanche 2 scoops of ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream. And the worst part is, I got deathly ill from it !!! People, just skip this place!!

Perfect spot on the corner. Watch the world walk by while you enjoy the friendly service and good food. Recommend.

After waiting on the terrace for fifteen minutes, I just left again.

Way too expensive for what you get. 500 grams was more like 300.

A very nice restaurant with a lovely terrace and cheerful service. Eating mussels there is highly recommended. There are very few restaurants where you can eat them tastier. The view from the terrace on a warm summer day is a nice bonus, but the service combined with the menu is certainly the basis for this restaurant's success.

Went here with my boyfriend to have a beer, but left with nothing. Once we came there, turned out it was a dinner time, and we couldn't make an order. When asked the manager if we can stay because tho lots of tables were empty, we've been told to 'go and search the other restaurant'. Very rude and inconsiderate service

Very rude managers and staff, kicked us for wanting to have drinks at 17h. Even though half the tables were empty, telling us to go look for other restaurants in town instead.

Delicious fresh mussels! I was given the choice of having them cooked in wine or beer. I chose wine, and this option did not disappoint. Very tasty. My travel companion was also very satisfied with her soup. Good cooks and good service!

It's a shame that people are still sitting on the terrace next to me smoking when I'm eating. And there are no ashtrays on the tables, but people just do it and no one says anything about it. Just make it smoke-free, please.

We ate using a Social Deal. In principle, there was nothing wrong with it. But that rushing really wasn't necessary. It wasn't busy and it was very hot. Maybe that had something to do with it. When the dessert just wouldn't arrive and we weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink, we just left. It's a shame because the food was good, but the service was terrible.

Nothing special. A few years ago there was a better menu, but for a sandwich or snacks it's okay.

The garnish with the meal consisted of the same vegetables for both the fish and the meat dish, even though the menu listed matching vegetables. Very expensive for what you get.

Despite being situated on the main street of touristy Valkenburg, the restaurant has managed to retain its intimacy. This is not only due to the atmospheric interior but also, and especially, to the service. Very friendly, helpful, and took the time. The food (asparagus and 'bus of the day') was delicious and the recommended wine paired excellently. We are not usually quick to pop into a larger restaurant in such a hotspot, but we are glad we did and would love to return.

The food itself is all tasty, but very pricey for what you get. We were still hungry after the starter and main course. The portions are very small!!

We drank 2 Aperol Sprits there today and had to pay €25.00. Very expensive for a fairly small glass. The price went up sharply, the glass downsized. So, double profit. Ridiculous.

Good and big restaurants! Especially all staff are so kind and nice. There have good mood terraces outside enough space and inside was also ok. I ordered multiple Cocktails and enjoyed. Prices are little bit expensive but I was happy with nice staff and good mood! Pictures 26.April.2026

Atmospheric decor, the interior of course, because sitting on the terrace is also possible. Not only did the dishes look good, but they all tasted good. No excess. Tasty wine. The service was superb.

Large restaurant, the food looks nice but really tastes worse than it looks. Also, the portions are meager and the courses stripped down. 3 courses are not enough to feel satisfied. More like tapas portions. The dessert was the best part of everything, compliments. Flammkuchen with beetroot and goat cheese; inedible, goat cheese not melted, beetroot far too sweet, no crème fraîche on the base so dry, so just balsamic vinegar, really? Not worthy of a main course either. The bruschetta was baked way too hard and again full of balsamic vinegar, yuck. Soup based on a packet... To us, it was tourist food level. They come once anyway and never again. It looks like an Italian restaurant but they speak Arabic amongst themselves, which I consider a major minus. Nice to have a drink on the terrace. Not worth repeating for us. Very atmospheric inside though. But when you go out to eat, the food is the main thing, isn't it? They try to immediately take down the Google review, even though it is a real experience and there are only positive reviews. Teaching a restaurant how not to do it! These are honest opinions. Flavorful, unique dishes, friendly service, and we had a delicious bottle of wine (chardonnay).

Both lunch and dinner were more than excellent! Delicious sandwiches and an exquisite asparagus menu. Friendly and attentive service.

During our stay in South Limburg, we dined at this good restaurant twice. The food is delicious, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the service is great, and there is pleasant music. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back.

I think this place is okay - had to eat here because everywhere else was closed on Christmas Day. It’s quite expensive, and the lobster portion is quite small. But other than that, the service was pretty good and the ambience was really nice

Beautiful spot in the center of Valkenburg with food that is decent, but nothing to write home about. We were able to find a table immediately at lunch time during the week outside. They keep the patio very warm for cold days so that we were all able to take our coats and hats off and enjoy being near the main walking street. Staff were friendly and all spoke English well, and a few we even heard speaking Dutch, French, and German as well. Food was fine. A little overpriced for what you get in our opinion. My wife got the lobster roll which was very small and looked like a basic hot dog bun with a sparse amount of lobster in it. Mostly just tasted like mayonnaise. I got the club sandwich which was definitely the better option. Overall, very much enjoyed this plate. However, for €15 or so for an open face sandwich, I would have expected for it to also come with fries at least. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere more than the food, but we weren't too upset about the food either.

I went for lunch on Monday, and what a disappointment! I had the deluxe steak sandwich for €21. I'm happy to pay that price for a good sandwich, but this was a real disappointment. The meat was so tough, I left half of it. There were even two pieces of gray meat that were impossible to cut. I returned my plate full of tough chunks, soggy bread, and inedible bits, and the waiter didn't even ask about it. He even left the plates there. Very rude.

I ordered an "uitsmijter" with bacon. You get an "uitsmijter" with bacon, ham, and cheese. Since I don't like cheese, this isn't the intention, but apparently it's standard there, which I didn't understand about a classic "uitsmijter." When I told them I didn't like cheese, they made a new one, but I had to pay for the other one as well. Very hospitable and customer-friendly. I only ordered bacon, and in my opinion, they're not doing it right, but I still had to pay an extra 16 euros. This was our regular place in Valkenburg, but I'll never go back. RIDICULOUS!! .

A very unfriendly hostess, not at all customer-friendly. I've never experienced anything like this before. We said we wouldn't eat there either, and the people behind us in line said, "We won't eat here either!"

We had a wonderful meal, and they really took my pregnancy into account. For the first time in a while, I had a delicious piece of (well-cooked) tender salmon! We also received a very warm welcome.

A very pushy waitress, clearly only the income matters. Out of the blue, 10 minutes after our drinks were delivered, she asked if we'd like a piece of cake... we would have ordered it ourselves with our drinks! A while later, we hadn't even finished our drinks, and then she asked if we'd like another drink... We were met with a smug look if we didn't agree... so we just got the bill, and never again!

We chose the autumn menu, and it was perfectly prepared. We opted for the wine pairing and enjoyed some delicious wines. The chef delighted us with all the delicious dishes and even brought the main course to our table himself. We will definitely be back!

A cozy, atmospheric lunchroom in the heart of Valkenburg's charming town center. We had a great meal here. The selection of croquettes on bread, toasted sandwiches, or fried eggs is excellent. Despite the 8 degrees Celsius, I sat on the terrace without a coat thanks to the comfortable patio heater.

They had mussels on the menu, and they were delicious. They also had lobster and oysters, but the prices were so high that I didn't order them. The staff has a Hanos logo on their shirts. How dare a Hanos restaurant charge €4.50 for one oyster and €30 for half a lobster? I could go on and on about a somewhat arrogant waiter, but I won't do that until I have to pay €30 for one lobster. Back to the mussels, they were delicious, especially paired with a Westmalle.

I really enjoyed the food! I've eaten a lot of satay, but this is truly one of the best. Friendly staff, even at the end of the day. Highly recommended!

Great location with a beautifully decorated interior and a cozy terrace. Because there are so many people walking by, there's always plenty to see from your table outside. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. My only downside was the menu prices, which were a bit higher than I expected. All in all, a pleasant experience and definitely a place to return to.

Delicious food, but quite pricey compared to two years ago. Lobster soup with half a lobster was €41, and €4.50 per oyster, which were very small and tasteless, but we got two extra. EXPENSIVE (€140 for lunch), but everything was delicious!

It's our son's birthday today. He ordered an omelette on the patio. It accidentally fell on the floor while cutting it. I politely asked him to clean it up myself. There was very little food left on his plate. So I asked for a new plate because it hadn't been asked. Unfortunately, when we paid, we also had to pay for the dropped menu. Since I also own a business, I asked: could we solve this together? The waitress couldn't be blamed. It's probably the rules, but didn't anyone realize this would dampen the birthday spirits of a 12-year-old and his parents? Corporate blunders always happen, but it's the tone of the music that determines how something is communicated and how the staff is taught to handle it. It won't happen every day.

There was only one waiter at the beginning and then no more after that. The food wasn't tasty either.

I haven't had such good seafood in a long time. The oysters with ponzu lime were surprisingly good! The mussels were delicious, but the portion was a bit small. Then we had the lobster as a last course. It was perfect! The sauce that was served with it matched the lobster perfectly. I would definitely come back here again.

They made me pay 10€ for bread Frozen products.. Very expensive. Poor value for money.

A cozy and stylish spot in the heart of Valkenburg. We visited Bombarino in the evening — the interior is warm and beautifully decorated, and the heated terrace is a nice touch. The food was presented creatively. We especially enjoyed the seafood paella and the “Meat Heaven” platter. Most dishes were flavorful, though one meat dish arrived slightly cold, which was a bit disappointing given the price. The staff were generally friendly, though during quieter moments they seemed a bit inattentive — we had to wait to be offered drinks or dessert. Overall, a great place for a relaxed dinner with a nice ambiance. If you enjoy creative dishes and generous portions, Bombarino is worth a visit. Best to book a table in advance. 📍 Tip: Go for their signature dishes and ask about prep time — there can be some delays.

Het eten is echt heerlijk alleen duurde het wel erg lang voordat we onze lunch kregen en dat was zonde. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en je zit er leuk.

Als je door de poort de gezellige Muntstraat in loopt, loop je direct tegen dit gezellige restaurant aan. Dus uiteraard even gaan zitten en een drankje gedaan. De kaart maakt hongerig! Het kost even wat tijd om te kiezen, er staat zoveel lekkers op, maar gekozen voor de Zeewolf. Nou, kan maar 1 ding zeggen, verrukkelijk!!! Zelden zo lekker Zeewolf gegeten. De bediening is super, vriendelijk, gezellig in voor een praatje en je komt niks tekort. Dus mocht je in de buurt zijn, maak van de gelegenheid gebruik om dit gezellige restaurant te bezoeken. Echt een aanrader!

Beautiful location and pleasant atmosphere. We had chosen the asparagus menu with smoked salmon (three courses). We agreed that we would always indicate when we were ready for the next course. This made it very relaxed and easy to eat. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the staff very friendly and service-oriented. We will definitely come back here in the future!

What a great experience! We had made a reservation for 2 people, and upon arrival we were politely and very friendly asked where we wanted to sit, inside or outside. Once we had read the menu, we were advised to order the MeatHeaven from the menu. That was the best choice for us, thanks to Antonio's advice. What an experience. I entered the patio and was greeted with… no one at all. I stood there like a lost tourist on a ghost ship. After ten minutes I decided to report myself to the plant at the entrance – at least it still had some life in it. After an eternity, someone walked up who looked like he had just woken up from a night shift in hell. “You have reservations?” he asked, looking at his phone instead of us. We had indeed made a reservation - regret of my life. The food? Let me take you on a culinary horror trip The soup was lukewarm. Not hot. Not cold. Just…despondent. • The paste was cooked enough that I could use it as a cement filler. • And the chicken? I'm pretty sure that beast was still alive when I ordered it, but by now it had been reborn as leather. • The dessert (if you can call it that) tasted like it had survived three world wars. If I could give a zero, yes

Please, try something other than meat and chips! We've both just had gravalax to start followed by the very Dutch, paella . Both courses were excellent. Beautifully prepared and served. A first class experience, & NO CHIPS! Please, give it a try.

Gisteren lekker gelunched, gezellig restaurant met buiten terrasverwarmers. Wij zaten binnen en hebben prima gegeten. Bediening ook erg vriendelijk en attent. Ruime porties van goede kwaliteit.

Had lunch here on Christmas Day. They very politely indicated that they would only be open until 2pm, so it was up to us whether we thought that was enough time. Yes, then we had enough time for lunch. All dishes were tasty and flavoursome. Certainly enough food. We could use this too, since we still had to climb the Cauberg to our cottage in the park

Unfortunately tasteless frozen defective unreliable meat (check årets matbluff äkta vara and draap nv) Choose something quality local (grain and corn fed is the worst because of gmo and grassiness) Deer farms enough in Benelux. Polder cow such as west Flemish red also a topper. Worst were actually smokers who disrespectfully held their sigg at nose level next to a table with children. Disrupted entire meal Maybe offer sniff to nicotine narcos?

My mussels were good, average size, and came with a bowl of fries. The mushroom steak was excellent, except for the vegetables as a side dish (decoration). So he ordered more fries and a small salad; well, everything was extra, but a hefty one. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and the setting was beautiful.

Heerlijk gegeten, super vriendelijke bediening! Lekker lang natafelen zonder "weggekeken" te worden! Zeker een aanrader. Klein minpuntje, toilet is boven, voor mensen die moeilijk ter been zijn misschien lastig. Het restaurant is gezellig en mooi ingericht.

Last Tuesday we had dinner at Bombarino in Valkenburg. Really delicious food. Food is great, service is friendly and alert. Everything is perfect. If you are in Valkenburg, go to Bombarino, really do it, top place. We had the bread basket as a starter (which was great), the salmon as a main course (excellent) and the deer back (which was heavenly, really great). Dessert: Frisian sugar bread, so delicious and for us Northerners a surprising discovery in Valkenburg. Delicious!

We were allowed to sit with a large group outside on the terrace for the parade. The food was incredibly delicious and the service super friendly! We were also allowed to sit with the child below us at the front where there was still room to watch! We really appreciate this. On behalf of the entire family, thank you very much :)))

Nous avons déjeuné dans ce restaurant et nous avons vraiment aimé d ailleurs nous y sommes retourné le soir. Par contre il ne faut pas avoir un appétit de moineaux car les portions sont généreuse. Le personnel est très sympa et souriant. Je recommande vivement

We had lunch today and frankly we enjoyed ourselves I do not understand certain comments which do not highlight this restaurant I recommend it.

The ambiance was cozy and warm. Very nicely decorated for the holidays. All the candles and lighting were beautiful. The waitstaff were nice, helpful, and very tentative. The food was delicious and generous portions. We had a lovely time.
