The 5-course menu combined with the wine pairing is a fantastic fine dining experience. Flavors and combinations that surprise you every time. Beautifully presented plates and the chef's well-considered choices. You receive the staff's undivided attention, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxed. Bruis is definitely recommended!

Last weekend, the five of us dined at Bruis. Super friendly service and a very nice restaurant. We opted for the 5-course menu. This was tailored to the autumn season, and we had a great meal, although we all agreed that the portions were a bit on the small side. Menu: Hamachi: was the tastiest dish of the evening. Cod with sauerkraut, small but delicious. Pheasant was a small fillet with few garnishes; the sauce was full of flavor. The rump steak was cooked beautifully rare and therefore quite large, but the garnishes were rather sparse. I personally would have switched from blackberry mousse with cinnamon ice cream and brownie to brownie with blackberry mousse and cinnamon ice cream for a bit more filling. We were pleasantly surprised by the wines; Germany, Switzerland, and Austria were well represented, which I personally found a pleasant change. All in all, a great experience, but the portions could have been larger. *I took the photo of the cod and the dessert from other reviews. The portion size was the same in those photos, but I forgot to take the photos myself.

We had the four-course menu with wine pairing for four people. It was disappointing; the steak was really tough, though the presentation was beautiful. The starters were fine, the dessert less so. Very friendly service and a great atmosphere. The wine pairing is actually overpriced; the dessert wine was corked (though promptly replaced), and the wine from which "no one" knows the grape variety is a bit crazy, according to the true wine connoisseur in our group. All in all, a bit disappointing.

We had a delicious four-course dinner with wine pairing. The wine and food pairings were well explained.

When asked if I enjoyed the vegetarian dish, I said it lacked flavor and was bland. It also seemed more like a collection of vegetables on a plate, with the grilled pepper being just that, and without anything extra. Well, the waiter wasn't pleased, and I was served in a grumpy manner.

What a treat it was to dine here. Delicious dishes with matching wine pairings, mostly from local Stokhem vineyards. The explanations for the dishes and wines were excellent. The service was impeccable and open to individual requests, which were immediately addressed. Larger groups were seated in the restaurant's seating area, which also gave them a sense of privacy.

Long wait for your food and heavy on the way the size

Kaik, that's a top wine that Chardo-ja from Kaike. Can't call it Chardonnay, sounds too negative. The 5-course dinner in combination with the wine combinations that you can add (do do do) was a kind of food-p*rn. Every dish was in complete harmony with the wine and as a surprise effect KABOEM a taste explosion every time, all taste buds were put on activia, a complete workout! In addition, almost all senses were stimulated: visual: is it real? Not photo-shopped? Smell: I have hay fever so had to go to the toilet several times to blow out all the irritating pollen and such, so that I had optimal smell, sight and taste again afterwards! Feeling: mouthfeel: fine structures, large or small bites did not matter, only the knives could be a bit sharper.... Only with 5 star reviews, otherwise just give a spoon 🤣, I am the ultimate example of 12 cities, 13 accidents. On the right I am made of titanium due to a stupid accident, but my muscles also have less chance of success... With a blunt knife with the strength of a toddler who can put together a shape puzzle, that is quite confronting and difficult in practice. During my holiday week, I went out for dinner in Valkenburg several times a day, breakfast, brunch, lunch, snacks, drinks snacks, after lunch, tasty cravings, binge eating after kilometers of sporting efforts and dinners. At every location I get a "spreading knife" or round serrations. I understand that somewhere, I do not give my customers a knife either, but children's scissors to open packages. Sometimes I have provided the adult scissors in all the hustle and bustle, or a pen with a sharp point, As a result: Scissors in kneecap, pen was stabbed in my back, so I understand why blunt material is provided. However, is it not possible nationally, European or Internationally to pre-cut the "hardcore" units? I feel seriously physically limited with such a jip and janneke knife... Auditally I missed a small addition, so I give it as a tip. The diamond tenderloin or Jewish tenderloin (has to do with the dietary laws of the orthodox Jews who do not consume meat from the hindquarters) diamond tenderloin is shoulder tenderloin so Kosher. And the meat was served half-done. I will eat an animal raw if I have to... (joke), When the multi-named tenderloin is served, bring it "rare" on the plate and place a jug next to it with the still extremely hot gravy/frying fat. The customer can pour this on the meat as desired and then hear that SSSSSSSS. Wonderful sound and with that stuff you can sear it to your own liking. These are tips, because I already found everything else a wonderful sensation ❤️

Enjoyed a lovely, relaxed meal in a charming restaurant. The accompanying wine was truly delicious and perfectly paired with the dish. Great! It's across from the train station.

There was no room left, but not all tables were occupied. The snacks that could have been ordered were also cancelled. It's a shame that hotel guests are treated this way.

Not really recommended, a bit of a tinkered kitchen where the flavors don't really fit together. Very nice wine list but absolutely no knowledge available to recommend the right wines. A sommelier is at least recommended in a wine restaurant. The service feels a bit like we are in the youth movement. The basics are there, but they still have to step up their game.

We arrived a bit early, because they were supposedly still serving breakfast (11:20 a.m. in an empty restaurant), but they weren't friendly or creative about it. We were literally sent away. Then not.

Well, it's all just not right. Starter marinated salmon has just too little flavor and doesn't smell fresh. Intermediate course ravioli with prawns is served with a somewhat strange sauce that really doesn't go with it. Main course veal and dessert respectively okay and good. Knowledge of the wines in the arrangement is too little for a wine bar. They are also often a bit on the cheaper side. Nicely decorated and service is okay.

Delicious food. Highly recommended. We will definitely come back.

We enjoyed a delicious 4-course dinner during restaurant week. Beautiful location, super good service, good wine and food combination and friendly staff. The fact that, in addition to allergies and dietary requirements, you are also specifically informed about things you really don't like, emphasizes the personal approach. You will be culinary pampered. We would love to come back!

We had a very successful and tasteful evening at Restaurant Bruis. The location is nice, right opposite the beautiful Valkenburg train station, has a nice ambiance with nice background music. The staff is extremely friendly, especially the older woman who says she works there on an on-call basis. She is very enthusiastic, service-oriented, informal and up for a nice conversation! The kitchen took into account any allergies and dietary requirements. We had a delicious five-course dinner of which every course was excellent. Worth repeating if we are in Valkenburg again!

Delicious food! We had the 5 course menu, which was nicely adapted due to our wishes regarding certain types of meat. The food on the plates was a feast for the eyes. In addition, the hosts Dylan and Laurence were great and are part of a fantastic team that surprised us culinary! Location: opposite the train station, nice view. Nice music in the background. Nice neat restaurant. Highly recommended!

Delicious food via social deal, nice wine list too. Pleasant service. The only minor downside is the accessibility of the toilets (down two flights of stairs) and the hotel guests who walk through the (narrow) restaurant area while eating.

Can't agree with the previous reviews. We also bought a 5-course dinner via Social Deal. Received a nice surprise menu, also a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian. With a wine arrangement, a lot of knowledge about the wines. Absolutely no different treatment than other guests. Very satisfied! It also seems to me to be a huge challenge for the owner to distinguish himself from all the other restaurants in the center, so the favor factor from us!

Through SocialDeal you are treated worse than a “normal” customer. Taken a surprise menu via Social Deal. Starter tasty, no comments. Main course: pork belly with at least 70% (!!!) fat. Now that's a surprise. It made me feel sick. Kindly stated that I cannot eat it because of this. An alternative offered - steak for an additional charge of €7.5, with a note that this was not indicated as an extra wish... Sorry, but I never expected to get almost pure fat in a restaurant. Well, I think that's quite a lot. Indicated and asked for a better solution. There was no solution other than a vegetarian dish. I asked if I could have a drink on the house or with the steak for €7.5. That was not allowed because I am here with Social Deal. So yes. Took a vegetarian dish, it was a “zucchini”. Too bad, very sad. So not recommended. If everything goes according to “the plan”, it is doable. If things are different anywhere else, you don't want to be here.

Beautiful hotel with good food and a wide choice of wine. Staff are very friendly and helpful. From the front the view of the beautiful Valkenburg station and close to the center. Recommended!

Nice decoration, chef's menu somewhat simple - expected something more surprising!

Vanmiddag met Social deal een high wine gehad. Hapjes waren grotendeels van witbrood gemaakt,zoet hapjes waren van de groothandel. Van bruis, rosé, wit en rode wijnen was er maar van ieder 1 optie mogelijk om te kiezen! Wijnen waren ver onder de maat ( bulkwijnen). Bij navragen nam de aanwezige sommelier zich nog niet eens de moeite om ons advies te geven aan tafel. Jammer…..voor een restaurant dat zich wijnrestaurant noemt. Ik had er meer van verwacht !

Eten voor de prijs was écht onder de maat. En de service zwaar belabbert. Matig wijnadvies. De wijnkaart was super onoverzichtelijk omdat het op wijnhuis was en niet op kleur. Als een sommelier aan mijn tafel staat wil ik meegenomen worden in de wijnen van de streek. We moesten letterlijk alles uit hem trekken. Een andere kleinere ober liep wat gepikeerd rond. Het eten kwam op tijd, de friet kwam niet, het plat water was bruis, het vlees was gaar. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Dag later bij culinair restuarrant Zest in Valkenburg gaan eten. Prijs hetzelfde en wat een verademing qua bediening, eten en interieur

Onwijs genoten. Heerlijk 3-gangen diner gegeten. Goede bediening met veel wijnkennis. Prachtig restaurant, hier komen we zeker nog een keer!
