De Zoete Zoen in Wijk 00: Valkenburg

We had breakfast at this restaurant on both Christmas Days. The breakfast was tasty, but not as special as we had expected for Christmas. We had reserved dinner well in advance by email for Boxing Day. When we inquired about the start time on Christmas Day, we discovered that our reservation wasn't on the list. While mistakes can happen, we found the way this was resolved unprofessional and not very customer-friendly. We were assigned a time slot without much consultation, and that didn't go smoothly either. Unfortunately, no apology was offered. This incident made us feel unwelcome at breakfast on Boxing Day. Ultimately, we decided to cancel our reservation at De Zoete Zoen, as we didn't think this was a pleasant way to celebrate Christmas. We found another restaurant in Valkenburg (Restaurant Bellini) that better suited our needs and where we found friendly service and an extensive, delicious menu.

We ate there on Boxing Day, and they had a lovely Christmas menu. The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I'm very allergic to mushrooms, and they were very considerate of that.

What a treat, super hospitable service, the food was fantastic. Even switching to gluten-free was no problem at all!

We walked the Amuse Route. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The delicious amuse is highly recommended. Just outside Valkenburg, but with such a charming atmosphere.

This was one of the stops on our amuse-bouche tour. We had a delicious duck spring roll here. Honestly, one of the best we've ever had. The rest of the menu looked very good too, but unfortunately, our timing didn't allow us to spend much time here. If we ever go to Valkenburg again, we'll definitely be back.

The Limburg sour meat was tasty, but one basket of fries for four people is very little, and we don't think it's good service to then add the extra fries to the bill.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting. Friendly service.

We ordered a gourmet meal for the cottage. The meat and all the trimmings were fine, but the young, blonde woman who helped us pick it up was very unfriendly and downright rude. We simply asked a question, but her irritation was palpable. She then shared it with a colleague while we stood there, which was very awkward. When we returned the food, we were simply ignored by the same young woman. No business cards for your restaurant; you won't see us there again.

Last night we dined at De Zoete Zoen on our last night at the Landal park. The restaurant looks nice and well-maintained, both inside and out, and it's immediately clear what they offer. The menu is excellent and varied. We were surprised, however, that you have to order fries separately with your main course – they're not included as standard. The food itself tasted great, and the service was quick and friendly. All in all, a lovely place to eat or drink.

Day trip to Valkenburg, a fantastic and beautiful place to visit. This place is definitely recommended. We had a lovely time sitting outside and received friendly and prompt service, even though it was quite busy. It's also nice that you're not so close together outside. I highly recommend the Tataki, and the steak was perfectly cooked and tender. There's something for everyone in terms of wine, and the house wine (Primitivo) was also very good. Good coffee, but a job interview at full volume on the patio? As a customer, I find that quite disruptive, as does the loud music. Surely things can be done differently, for both customers and applicants.

We wanted to eat something at 20:00 but that was no longer possible because the kitchen was already closed while it says until 20:30. First you are nicely put at a table with a difficult face and then the lady of the service says that it is no longer possible. Very customer friendly.

I was sitting outside on the terrace, just after lunch rush hour on Tuesday. I was the only one there, so it was pretty quiet. There was a lot of noise coming from the park, because the motorized lawn mowers were going into turbo mode. The effect of sitting at a bungalow park, I think. I'm sitting there myself and it looked quite pleasant here. The beer on tap was cold and tasty. The asparagus soup was thin and salty but had a good taste. The soup was accompanied by a slice of white, nothing special but not dried out either. The service was nice and reasonably quick. The music was of the type of café, a bit fast, saxophone, synthesizer, you know the drill. Tuesday (today) and Saturday it's Spare Ribs Night here (they do close for the night), so maybe more of a Spare Ribs Evening. But that sounds less of course. Maybe I'll come here to eat a rib if I don't feel like going to the center of the village. Together with the friendliness, that is the biggest asset of this shop: close to the Landal park. Will definitely come here again for a cold beer! Edit: when more people came in at 3 o'clock it became a bit more cozy!

We ordered takeaway from De Zoete Zoen and we were super satisfied! We chose the breaded schnitzel with mushroom sauce, tagliatelle bolognese, half rooster and spare ribs — everything was delicious! The portions are generous, the flavors excellent and the service was simply great. Very friendly and attentive staff. An experience we definitely want to repeat!

We hebben takeaway besteld bij Zoete Zoen in Cauberg en we waren super tevreden! We kozen voor de gepaneerde schnitzel met champignonsaus, tagliatelle bolognese, halve haan en spareribs — alles was heerlijk! De porties zijn royaal, de smaken uitstekend en de service was gewoon geweldig. Zeer vriendelijk en attent personeel. Een ervaring die we zeker willen herhalen!

Aantal weken geleden afspraak gemaakt, bij aankomst welkom geheten en werden onze jassen aangenomen en konden we plaatsnemen aan onze tafel . Uitgebreid menu, met voor ieder wat wils. Kortom, Lekker gegeten, vriendelijk personeel, mooie lokatie op een mooi vakantiepark

Mogen we wat brood brengen terwijl u wacht... 7euro betalen voor een pistolet, zou wel fijn zijn als ze dit erbij vermelden dat dit niet gratis is. Blijkbaar betaal je ook enkel voor vlees, een geen aardappel of dergelijke erbij. Nog eens 5euro per portie frietjes. Kinderen betalen ook volwassen tarief. Voor die prijs konden we in een andere zaak toch iets kwalitatiever eten dan een ribbetje. Je betaald al 24euro voor een simpele rib, waar je ook maar 1 stuk van krijgt, en dan moet je nog eens bij betalen voor dingen die in België in de prijs inbegrepen zijn. Voel me op dit vlak toch wel wat bedrogen. Zo moet je snel rijk worden. Wil je ribben eten. Trek even het stad in, prijzen zijn goedkoper, frietjes inbegrepen. Hanteren ze in België zo een tarieven dan zijn de meeste zaken snel failliet. Was hier veel centen kwijt voor simpel eten en voelde me toch wat in het zak gezet.

We went for a walk with our friends. Our arrival at “the sweet kiss” was not a warm welcome. Upon entering, without saying good-day, they shouted that we had to go to the sere. While that young lady was standing with her cell phone to her ear... I was really surprised... quite rude. Now we were having a nice chat with our friends and she comes to our table. taking our drink without an ounce of kindness. 3 glasses of wine were placed down. The fourth glass in the barrel was quickly placed on the table. No words just a face that was more sour than sweet. It was not a pleasant meeting and horca worthy service. Even when we left, nothing was said. Annoying customers!

During the Route d'Amuse this was our 2nd stop on Sunday December 22. After a pleasant first stop with enthusiastic people, this was a different story. What terrible, brutal and grumpy employees there are here. Upon entering we were directed (perhaps too fancy a word) to the conservatory by the lady. She was on the phone yelling at us where to go. At least we realized that she was talking to us instead of the conversation on the phone. You are snubbed and the glass of wine is thrown on the table as you pass. The other man working was not much friendlier. Please go find another job because this won't do much good for your business. Compliments to the youngest employee who walked around, at least he gets it, very friendly. And the wine was delicious so it made up for a lot. I don't write anything quickly, but we have to get this out there!

Very nice restaurant, right in Landal Park Cauberg. Reservation is recommended. Went out to eat twice during our stay in November 2024. Unfortunately, for the first time, despite ordering "very rare done", the steak wasn't red on the inside. Second time I ate satay: very good.

Service was quite rushed. Food varies. Good bread as starter and main course very reasonable. However, the sorbet was disappointing. Three scoops of ice cream, very coarsely chopped fruit and unclear garnish with dried orange. When I asked why whipped cream was not served with it, I was told that the chef did not think it fit with the other structures. That is also a view, but I think the whipped cream would actually ensure a good mutual connection 😀. I was assured that next time I would get an extra portion of whipped cream if I asked for it, so that's why I gave the food three stars!

Omdat we op de woensdag een hele prettige ervaring hadden met dit restaurant gingen we zondag nog een keer. Helaas viel het toen erg tegen. Ik had op woensdag de aubergine lasagne gegeten en bestelde deze ook nu. Helaas was het deze keer geen succes. De aubergine was niet gaar, ook bij herhaling toen ik klaagde. 10 minuten later was het nog steeds niet gaar. De verklaring was dat de ene kok hield van een beetje rauw en een andere kok van meer doorgebakken. En de kok van vanavond hield blijkbaar van rauw. Ik kreeg het niet gesneden en baalde heel erg. Als compensatie kreeg ik een crème brulée gratis. En die was heerlijk, maar ik ben met een kater vertrokken. Een aubergine, weet ik uit eigen ervaring moet je goed doorbakken!

Goede service, vriendelijke medewerkers, mooie ambiance, heerlijke eten en overheerlijke prosecco! Voor herhaling vatbaar.

A nicely decorated restaurant with terrace in the Landal Park Kasteeldomein De Cauberg. The atmosphere was probably fine. The service was fast and okay, not very friendly. Food was tasty, tasty, with large portions. I do think that all dishes are quite pricey, so you don't get a cheap meal here. 2 dishes per person (2 people) were around 100 euros.

Little for a lot... The portion of spare ribs for 25 is on the very small side, 1 strand... and if you pretend to have a spare rib evening, why not have a container for the bones and a lemon cloth for your hands?? Furthermore, not once did anyone come to the table to ask for something to drink or whether it tasted good. It can happen that a strand is not sufficiently (almost) marinated, but when asked, it was tasted and the answer is that it could be better, so as a staff you should of course not ask further. In addition, the other dishes are also a normal price, but everything is without fries then it is just expensive. If you dare to ask 5 euros extra for that, I find it very scandalous. This was once and never again for us with the sweet kiss.

De Zoete Zoen is goed, gezellig en heeft zeer attent personeel.leuk om op het overdekte terras te zitten maar binnen zit je minstens zo goed.Hier krijg je waar voor je geld, bezoek de plek waar Piet Paulusma ook regelmatig aanwezig was en nu zelfs zijn eigen monument voor de deur heeft!

Boven op de Cauberg ligt een voortreffelijk restaurant, “De Zoete Zoen”, waar je heerlijk kunt borrelen, lunchen en dineren! Op de menukaart fantastische gerechten en natuurlijk ook heerlijke Limburgse gerechten zoals Zoervleisj en Limburgse forel. Wij hebben in onze vakantie vijf avonden mogen genieten van de rijke keuzes op de menukaart. Zoals in huis gemarineerde zalm, scampi’s a la de zoete zoen, tataki van tonijn, gekonfijte wangetjes van het livar varken, spareribs, saté van kip en Limburgse forel. Natuurlijk vergezeld door een heerlijk glas wijn en de frietjes truffel mayo en parmezaanse kaas. Om je vingers bij af te likken. Een rijke keuze aan dranken, heerlijke biertjes van de tap, cocktails en wijnen. Een zeer attente, jonge en vriendelijke bediening met oog voor de klant. Een locatie waar je je welkom en thuis voelt. Met een woord “Top”.

Last week we reserved a table to eat delicious spareribs after reading the text on the internet (see attached photo) to eat unlimited spareribs. The first portion was a bit small, but it's unlimited, so we ask for some extra, right? It turns out that that is not unlimited at all and I have to pay a lot extra for extra spareribs 😳. Well, €25 I think is quite expensive for spareribs, especially considering the small portion we received. Even my 11 year old daughter couldn't get enough of it, let alone an adult. The spareribs themselves were fine, fortunately, but certainly not enough for an adult. Tip: if it is not unlimited, make sure you have larger portions and then remove the text unlimited on the internet. Then it is clear to everyone.

Had a very disappointing evening with far too little food for a lot of money. 3 adults who read 2 days before our experience that the spare ribs are unlimited. According to them, that was not the case.... You can argue about that, but we are not crazy. And on 1 plate outside you will see unlimited spare ribs. Because it was in the park, we chose this instead of at the Bears in town. When I asked for another rib, I was told that I could pay 8 euros for part of a rib above 24.95. Please note...there weren't even fries...5 euros extra. My son got 5 nuggets and half a plate of fries for 9 euros. It is a beautiful restaurant, but some staff could still do with some customer friendliness and with these prices it is incomprehensible that people still come. My experience, my opinion...I will be coming to Landal Cauberg a lot, but eating here was a one-off. Even in this review, the unlimited spare ribs option is an option to tick what you have eaten here.

Restaurant wat op het landelijk park de kasteel de cauberg zit. In het huisje lag een flyer met wat gerechten echter boden ze deze gerechten niet aan toen we er waren. Ook het dagmenu wat op de kaart staat werd niet aangeboden Voorgerecht tonijn tataki was erg lekker! Hoofdgerecht biefstuk (medium) maar was flink doorbakken beetje jammer. Ze weten de prijzen wel.

To which we say the door is open. The answer to this! An open door does not mean that we are open! Well folks, maybe take the time to check out the sign; welcome not to leave it in front of an open door!

Cozy, at least we walked there a few times during the week for a drink. However, now it was Friday evening 28/6/24 and it was busy. We sat at the back where a waitress was just cleaning a table. I asked if we could sit there and that was fine. Then I walked inside to the toilet and was not asked in a very friendly manner what I came to do. I replied that we had come to have a drink and that I had to go to the toilet. Back to the table we were simply ignored. We know when it's busy you have to be patient. But now the table next to us was asked what they wanted to drink and the next table. Well, maybe the waitress wasn't paying attention. Then a table behind it was cleared and the waitress continued to ignore us. We just couldn't order anything even after we spoke to her. I then wait patiently for my wife and after waiting 20 minutes and being ignored. Because the waitress can also say I will be with you shortly. My wife said, we'll go for a drink in the center of Valkenburg. The point is just that local people are not welcome when it's busy.

Locatie van het restaurant is op vakantiepark de Cauberg. Heerlijke lunch en diner gehad. Vriendelijke bediening en leuke kaart. Kwaliteit van het eten en wijn zijn goed en prima qua prijs. Aanrader en komen zeker nog eens terug.

Years ago we used to eat here regularly until the service went downhill. Long waiting times, no one bothered to take another round of drinks and orders were incomplete. Not been for about 5 years and now that we have been at Landal again for a week we thought "let's try it again... maybe there is a new owner now and they have improved". The appetizer and the main course were delivered quite quickly, but there was still little attention to ask if we wanted something to drink. Finally we were able to order the desserts and what was our surprise... again one person forgot to bring the dessert while the other had already finished the dessert. Disappointed again, but asked for the bill and only then did the waiter notice that they had forgotten 1 dessert. "Sorry, we'll take it off the bill" was the response. When we were standing outside it also turned out that my wife's Spanish Zoen (coffee with liqueur), which was not listed as 1 prize as stated on the menu, had suddenly been counted as a separate cup of coffee and a separate glass (sip) of Tia Maria and therefore also also considerably more expensive. Absolutely out of proportion to what you get. Well Zoete Zoen: be happy with this extra, it was the last... we will never come here again!

We came here because of the route d'amuse that we walked. The employee was extremely friendly. The amuse was tasty and the wine of good quality.

We were here on July 15, 2022. Price and quality are hard to find. Giant shrimps were too chewy. Tenderloin looked like rubber. 27.50 for a piece of meat and lettuce. Didn't mention that there was cheese, quite a detail for allergy sufferers. Reported this and the response was "yes there is cheese with the salad". Only after a while does he come back with a colleague "ooh you've almost finished it, we wanted to make a new one". We turned this down because the tenderloin was not tasty. And the kids also left their fries, which was also unedible, just like the snack. I think the fryer should have been refreshed a little earlier. As a result, we no longer come to the park itself to eat, because there is nothing like this restaurant there. It was noticeable that people were only visible on arrival day and the rest of the week there was no eating there, only drinking. Leuke tent voor een stop op de Cauberg. Wel behoorlijk aan de prijs maar qua volume was het eten genoeg.

Leuk restaurant , bediening was vriendelijk ,snel en efficiënt. 3 gangen menu is een aanrader, alle gerechten smaakten heerlijk. Enige minpunt is dat je extra moest betalen voor frietjes bij het hoofdgerecht?

Heerlijk gegeten 1 klein puntje van kritiek ik zelf had geen zin in een groot toetje en vroeg om kinder ijsje maar dat kon niet vond ik een beetje raar. Dus maar niks genomen je wilt toch centjes verdienen dacht ik zo.

Het is hier na een lange wandeling heerlijk bijkomen. Een drankje en een hapje, lekker genieten aan het begin van onze vakantie. Ondanks t slechte weer een gezellige bediening met een glimlach en een geintje.

Valentijns menu gegeten en ongelooflijk lekker

Keer lunch en keer avondeten. Hoe fijn is het om spontaan ergens te gaan lunchen en gewoon glutenvrij brood te kunnen krijgen. En nog lekker ook. Medereizigers, niet glutenvrij, ook dik tevreden. Lekker eten, vriendelijk personeel.

We hadden het Valentijns driegangenmenu. Prima prijs kwaliteit.

Hoe vriendelijk was me dat,... Eerst was er de aankondiging van verse vlaai met koffie,... zéker voor sportieve fietsers. Dan werd alles in het werk gesteld om me een heerlijke pauze te gunnen,... met oog voor een veilige stalling van mijn racefiets. Chapeau!! BEDANKT!!

Wij zijn op een donderdagavond geweest. Maar het voelde door alles als of we in het weekend waren. Gezellig heerlijk eten en super leuke meiden van de bediening. Aanrader!

Ik had bij voorbaat niet al te hoge verwachtingen van een restaurant op een Landal park, maar dat bleek toch echt een vooroordeel. Het eten was namelijk van een zeer goede kwaliteit en de rode wijn die ze schonken was heerlijk. Verder deed de inrichting van het restaurant gezellig en sfeervol aan. Echt een aanrader dit, ook als je niet op het Landalpark zelf verblijft.
