Had a super fun Italian evening. Well taken care of.

Great place to sit, get drunk and eat after a walk with the dog along the Geul.

What a lovely place. Nice service, delicious and beautiful lunch, the dog could sit quietly on the terrace with us, and the playground next door is convenient. The location is really atmospheric. Prices are perfectly fine.

The food was great although it took an hour to come and they messed up one of our orders then fixed it

Lunch on a shady terrace at 36°C. Everything was fine and worth a repeat visit. Remarkable: when asked, the waitress claimed they were served Spa Red, but according to the menu it was Sourcy Red, and eventually Chaudfontaine Sparkling arrived at the table...

Normally, I am really super enthusiastic about 't Koetshoes. After all, the location is fantastic. The playground is also fun for the kids. Today I ordered a cappuccino, and with the first sip, I pulled a dead fly out of my mouth. I pointed it out politely and received a new one, but the lady's look was extremely unfriendly. I felt incredibly embarrassed. I understand that this can happen, but of course, it shouldn't. In service, I am used to people apologizing politely for this.

Beautiful location on the cycling route network; had a nice cup of coffee with delicious Limburg flan. Nice and friendly service. We will definitely come back again to treat ourselves to local delicacies.

Nice location, however, the kitchen and service cannot handle the capacity. If you are with 8 or more people, you are out of luck and have to choose from a very limited menu. The waiting time is also really too long.

Very cozy little restaurant with many snug corners to sit in. In the summer, it is also very pleasant to sit outside.

We really enjoyed a cup of tea and our first Limburg flan of the weekend on the terrace! We were served by a very friendly employee. We also took a quick look inside and it looked really nice!

Small playground, tasty Pinot, prompt service. Delicious beer and snack platter. When you come in from outside, it is incredibly dark inside at first, but a moment later you see the unique interior. I would love to come back here again 🙂

The "child-friendly" eatery. Although everything was actually fine, we were surprised that there was a lot of smoking going on here. The playground was lovely and the service relaxed.

This has been a long-standing favorite of ours! Atmosphere and service, playground, river, forest, park, and parking lot—all top-notch. I would just like to see 3-course menus or varying daily specials on the menu.

A lovely spot before/after a nice walk in a beautiful area. In summer, there's a great terrace by the large playground, and now, in winter, we've also been inside, nice and cozy and beautifully decorated!

Review – Amuse Route Valkenburg, Koetshuis Our experience at the Koetshuis during the Amuse Route was unfortunately extremely disappointing. We were the last on the amuse route, arriving around 3:00 PM, well in time to get the last amuse before our parking time expired at 4:00 PM. Guests who arrived at the same time or even after us were served their amuse quickly. At our table, however, it remained completely silent. For over 45 minutes, no one came to our table more than once to explain what the amuse was and to ask if we wanted something to drink. Only when we inquired after waiting for 45 minutes did we receive a 40-minute reminder that it would be "another ten minutes." This was simply not feasible given the time pressure, and moreover, it was a very small amuse, not a full course. It became clear that we had simply been forgotten, although they didn't admit to it. Instead, we were only given the option of getting our route vouchers back and returning on another day specifically for this restaurant. When we asked why it was taking so long, we were referred to the kitchen, which the staff themselves described as a complete mess. Meanwhile, someone behind the bar reacted noticeably stressed and negatively when they heard our question. We ended up leaving without the amuse-bouche, which we had already paid for. You buy such a route at a tourist office, including a drink, which the Koetshuis earned extra from. The whole thing left a messy, disorganized, and disinterested impression. For us, this was the low point of the route and a very bitter aftertaste to what had otherwise been a lovely day. Absolutely not recommended, and we won't be returning.

To avoid scams, stay away! We participated in the Route d’Amuse, and this was our last stop. We started this route at 12:30 PM (not even the last departure time) and arrived around 4:15 PM. Our tickets stated that we needed to allow about four hours for the walk, so we were well within time. There were tables available, but all had empty glasses that still needed to be cleared. After 20 minutes, our drink order was taken, and the waitress was embarrassed to inform us that the appetizers we had paid for would not be served because the owner had decided otherwise. The owner was downright rude; we lost our money without any compensation.

Super fun location! It could be a gem, but unfortunately... it isn't! The service was rude. I think these people should do something else that actually makes them happy. We just had a drink and then left.

A jumbled mess, it seems, as if hanging up all that old stuff is supposed to make it cozy. Dirty and outdated. The young staff was very friendly, they seemed to be enjoying themselves, but the rest didn't seem particularly happy with their work; they were rude and unfriendly. The food was just okay, nothing special. It was our first time, but we wouldn't go back again.

Het Koetshuis is a familiar spot where I often stop during or after a walk. In good weather, I enjoy the spacious terrace, and now, in December, I'm in the cozy café area. The café area has a traditional Dutch pub vibe, where you can't get enough of the holy statues and other decorations that seem to fill every corner. The service is friendly. The food and drinks are good. This winter, I had jagertee (nice and strong) and black pudding. The black pudding was perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The hearty miller's bread and the crisp apple were the perfect accompaniment.

Nicely situated at the halfway point of a hike we took. Large outdoor terrace where you can enjoy lunch in the shade, thanks to the large umbrellas. Unfortunately, the route we downloaded from their website wasn't very clear. A map would have been more helpful.

Everything was great during our visit! Some of the waitresses spoke English or German. They were all very courteous and friendly. The drinks and dishes we ordered were brought promptly. Everything was delicious, fresh, and served in generous portions! The menu focuses on the essentials, which is a good thing in my opinion. During our visit, everything seemed very clean. There's plenty of seating outside on the terrace, but fewer inside. The adjacent playground makes it a great place to visit, especially with children.

There is a small playground and inside you can also sit, although it is small, but very cozy.

What a lovely spot for afternoon drinks or lunch. And you can also enjoy a great meal here in the evening. If you're visiting with children during the day, the adjacent playground is a must. Spacious and with lots of variety. It's an "old" playground. I started coming here with my children 15 years ago, but there are regular updates (new play equipment). The atmosphere and design of the Koetshoes are unique. A beautiful part of Valkenburg!

Price quality ratio is fine. Modest choice of menu but the food itself is very good. Very nice playground for the kids. Very friendly service. Sufficient parking and free.

A must-see, a lovely restaurant with delicious cakes and a wide selection of beers. It's great for families with children thanks to the large playground with everything a child's heart could desire. The staff is very friendly.

A real old-fashioned tavern in a beautiful location with attractive decor and very cozy. They had a spot here for us at the last moment on Christmas Day and even a high chair for the little one. Fantastic food and drinks, incredibly friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

Starting and ending at the Koetshuis this year our 15th and traditional Christmas walk of the IC @zuyderland MC. Great welcome, hot buffet and drinks just everything good. Mille grazie

What is not nice or good about this. Nice tavern in the woods, good menu, good staff. We had a farmer's onelet and the black pudding. Both delicious

Had a snack here together after a walk. Friendly and fast service. Atmosphere, well, that must be to your taste, overwhelming amount of space on the walls, you go back in time.

The French onion soup is delicious. 10/10 My boyfriend had Limburgse zuurvlees (Limburg’s sour meat) which was also very nice. The music is too loud inside but other than that great place to eat!

The location is fantastic. Surrounded by trees and a play garden for kids is great. We sat outside during a nice summer day. First we ordered some drinks which were brought to our table almost immediately. Our dinner, a simple burger with fries and spareribs with fries almost took an hour before being served. I had to ask the waitress about our food or we might have to wait even longer. I had the impression they forgot to prepare our dishes. The food was OK but not special or great tasting. We had this experience now and this is a place for some drinks or even snacks, especially when you are with kids. For dinner there are far better options in Valkenburg.

The food was delicious, the garden beautiful. The staff was very friendly, but when I made a comment that it was a pity that we were not served lunch together, it took about fifteen minutes. I got the answer: yes, anyone who works makes mistakes. That could have been more friendly/understanding.

Nice place near the edge of the forest. The food is very tasty and there is really enough choice on their menu (also for the kids) Friendly staff. There is also a nice playground adjacent. A dog is also welcome, at least outside or whether they are also welcome inside is unknown.

In one word, great. Pee ended up here by chance. We were away for a day and were looking for a nice restaurant with a playground. Came to the coach house through some searching. Nice playground for the kids and delicious food! Also a very cozy terrace and nice staff. We will definitely come back here!!!

Dinner time: Mediocre food quality, long wait. At the same time there was a party outside on the terrace, so we heard the music from outside and inside at the same time. Noisy staff. In short, far from a quiet dinner, where the quality was mediocre. Still 3 stars because you like this setting; playground, cafe, not much more you can expect.

Wonderful stay in this special place. A varied menu and very friendly service. If you are traveling with children, the accompanying playground is highly recommended. It is also a pleasant place to be during less pleasant temperatures. You only need plenty of time to view the interior, which will put a smile on your face several times.

familiedag in het Koetshoes...prima, maar helaas niet helemaal. Van te voren gebeld of het geschikt was voor een scootmobiel. Dat zou geen enkel probleem zijn, dus gingen we mee. Gelukkig dat degene in de scoot kleine stukjes kan lopen, maar een scootmobiel daar is geen optie. Vanaf de terraskant is er een helling die vol met gaten zit en onderaan een grote steen. Vervolgens kom je in de losse kiezel terecht.... Toiletbezoek? Helemaal niet mogelijk, want dan moet je een steile trap op (vanaf het terras) of van de andere kant door een zeer smalle opening met een paar flinke opstappen.... Niet alles hoeft van ons rolstoel- en scootvriendelijk te zijn, maar lieg er dan niet over aan de telefoon!!! Er zijn ook mensen die niet kleine stukje kunnen lopen en echt in een rolstoel of scoot moeten blijven. We hebben het leuk gehad met onze familie, maar dit zijn leugens die eigenlijk echt niet kunnen. Vandaar slechts een matige beoordeling

The restaurant inside is very small, but very nicely decorated. Just like a museum. Staff could be a little more friendly. It wasn't super busy, but they seemed very rushed. I think it's quite a shame. Food is delicious, portions are sufficient

Very cozy tavern in a unique location with excellent food and drinks and friendly staff.

What a wonderful, historic place to sit on a terrace under the trees, half in the sun, enjoying the many birds and the babbling sound of the Geul in the background. Children can play endlessly in the large playground with many play equipment. There is plenty of delicious Burgundian food available. There are plenty of specialty beers available on tap and the staff is friendly. Inside it feels a bit cramped and dark, but even when it rains you can still sit outside under the canopies. To be repeated!

Top place, top service and top food! Top top top. We had dinner here with our 1.5 year old son. Nice place for parents with children. Play area around the corner for all ages and really delicious food for the kids and parents. We ordered an omelette for our son for dinner, which would normally not be possible given the time. Very nice that they went along with it without a doubt. Thanks for the evening!

Toevallig bij deze brasserie terechtgekomen. Binnen is het zeer klein om te zitten,maar buiten is er een overdekte challet. Hier zijn ook de nodige vuurtjes voorzien voor een aangename warmte. De kaart is niet superuitgebreid maar de gerechten zijn qua prijs/kwaliteit prima. De koershoesburger is zeker een aanrader. Achter de brasserie ligt een afgesloten speeltuin. De kinderen kunnen hier dus naar hartelust spelen
