Charging 14 euros for a bottle of table water seems excessive to me. And then there's the unfriendly treatment. I won't be going here again.

Bad experience in terms of customer friendliness: we were 6 hikers and asked if the terrace was open? The waiter answered yes, sat down and pushed two tables together, but were told, in an unfriendly manner, that we had to ask first before we moved a table! We ordered anyway and got 5 small "healthy" sandwiches for 9 euros each, pfffff

Because they also suffered from the flooding of the channel, they are still doing well. The kitchen is not yet working at full power. They now have food delivered every evening via a ketering, which is good. The staff is very friendly and they do their best to please the guests.

We had breakfast at this restaurant on both Christmas Days. The breakfast was tasty, but not as special as we had expected for Christmas. We had reserved dinner well in advance by email for Boxing Day. When we inquired about the start time on Christmas Day, we discovered that our reservation wasn't on the list. While mistakes can happen, we found the way this was resolved unprofessional and not very customer-friendly. We were assigned a time slot without much consultation, and that didn't go smoothly either. Unfortunately, no apology was offered. This incident made us feel unwelcome at breakfast on Boxing Day. Ultimately, we decided to cancel our reservation at De Zoete Zoen, as we didn't think this was a pleasant way to celebrate Christmas. We found another restaurant in Valkenburg (Restaurant Bellini) that better suited our needs and where we found friendly service and an extensive, delicious menu.

Oosterweg 42A jumbled mess, it seems, as if hanging up all that old stuff is supposed to make it cozy. Dirty and outdated. The young staff was very friendly, they seemed to be enjoying themselves, but the rest didn't seem particularly happy with their work; they were rude and unfriendly. The food was just okay, nothing special. It was our first time, but we wouldn't go back again.
