A solid five stars! The food is top-notch, the service is very good, and it's also a very nice-looking restaurant. I drove 2.5 hours each way for this, but I have absolutely no regrets. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Tip: order the spareribs.

Thankfully. It still exists. Young staff who know their trade. Affordable food in a nice atmosphere. With the best spare ribs I have ever eaten (and I am a BBQ fanatic). The only downside: a 2.5-hour drive 🤣

Yesterday we dined at Bruut in Roden. What a beautiful building and a good menu; well-organized and clear. There is also an extensive drinks menu, with a modest wine list, but a good bottle for every type of meat and fish. The price-quality ratio was truly excellent; the food was of really good quality and the portions were good too. It was nice to see such a young team working there that is really well-coordinated and also knows exactly what they are doing. Unfortunately, a piece of meat got stuck in my girlfriend's throat. It ended well, but the way the staff handled it was truly top-notch! Her appetite was gone after that, and they offered to prepare a new portion several times; eventually, they offered to remove it from the bill. Nothing but praise for Bruut Roden and the staff!

Terrace festival, it was fantastic, so cozy and delicious. The whole family showed up without prior arrangement!

There was a Surinamese theme, with a matching menu. As an appetizer, we had chicken pie – it was made of puff pastry and filled more with peas than chicken; score a 3. Then we saw the saoto soup go by – much too small a bowl for the price, so we passed. After that, we saw someone at a table who had ordered chicken nasi – it had a piece of raw chicken, so that wasn't going to work either. We ordered 2 sparerib sandwiches; they were delicious. The atmosphere was good. Surinamese decorations and a DJ. The staff was attentive and polite.

Great service, delicious tournedos. There are very few restaurants where they prepare the tournedo properly. Usually with a disappointing result. But this one was delicious! It was off the menu, so a pleasant surprise! From the outside of the building, it is difficult to tell that it is the right restaurant. The location is not indicated correctly on Google Maps.

I love tenderloin, but I don't like meat that is too rare. I like mine medium plus. They refused to prepare it that way. I have been there 3 times now and won't be coming back. The side dishes are mediocre. The Italian fries are overloaded with sauce and cheese. The vegetables are tough. The service is friendly and helpful. The red wine is delicious.

Started with a delicious starter, the salmon wasabi, and the loaded burger for the main course. Both delicious! Friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. Keep in mind that if you've had a starter and main course, there might be little room left for dessert. The loaded burger is, after all, exactly what the name promises: loaded! Highly recommended!

We contacted them because we had family visiting from Greece and wanted to do something special. That was no problem at all! We were served a surprising three-course menu with Greek flavors incorporated into the dishes, and it was truly delicious. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail and was a huge hit. We highly recommend dining here!

Just ate delicious, tender spareribs

Had a delicious meal, service very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was cozy; the spareribs, which is what we came for, were a bit dry, but we received an extra portion from the kitchen and that was truly divine, tender and deliciously smoky, highly recommended!

Great food, good service, top-notch place! We regularly come here for lunch with our judo club on Sundays; even dropping by unexpectedly on the terrace with 11 people, the service is super fast and the food is delicious.

It is no secret by now that Bruut has delicious spare rib sandwiches. But for tiramisu lovers, Bruut is also the place to be. A long time ago, I ate a Baileys tiramisu here. As far as I know, my best tiramisu ever. Because I was in the neighborhood today, I just asked what kind of tiramisu they were serving. And it was a limoncello cinnamon tiramisu. This one was delicious too. And the most surprising variant I have ever had.

Traveled all the way from Leiden to Roden for the famous rib sandwich and then another one with chicken. Delicious food in a beautiful spot in a cozy village.

We had the surprise menu. The spareribs were very tasty, duck also fine, shrimp mediocre, fries tasty, budger tasty, steak tough but was replaced properly. The starter was very tasty, dessert was reasonable.

Cozy place for lunch or dinner. Expectations were high. We were supposed to be able to eat the best spareribs sandwich here. It was indeed a tasty sandwich, but I think calling it the best spareribs sandwich in the Netherlands is quite a bold claim by the Sandwich Testers. Personally, I would leave the salad off the sandwich or serve it on the side. Make it a nice sandwich with some pickles. Additionally, I think the knife could be a bit sharper. The atmosphere in the place was good. A nice restaurant with friendly staff. In a lovely spot in the village.

The Food was amazing. My Father had Spare Ribs and he had to say that those were the best he’s ever had in his life. My Bruutburger was amazing aswell, the meat was juicy but not too juicy and every sauce on our table was delightful. The Truffle fries with cheese topped it off. Our Server was very professional and careful, because i have many allergies when it comes to food. He handled it nicely. Just be careful, when it comes to wanting to eat late in this restaurant. We arrived at 7.30 pm and the server still had to ask if the kitchen was open even though the restaurant is open until 00:00 am.

Last night, my sister and I went out for dinner at Bruut to attend a performance at the theater afterwards. While ordering and chatting, we forgot to mention that we were going to the show and were arriving on time. The restaurant was busy, and because we hadn't indicated that we were arriving early, we were unable to eat our main course. The staff handled this very nicely and tried to be helpful wherever possible. We suggested packing it up instead and that we would come to pick it up after the show, as it was silly of us. A staff member even let the theater know we were on our way because the hall was about to close. During the intermission, we were told that Bruut was taking over the dinner, including everything we had already consumed, and that we could take the main course home packed in separate containers with instructions. Wow, what amazing service you provide, and all the staff are so sweet and considerate. We are aware that this is not a given and that you didn't have to do it. Thanks for this top-notch service; the takeaway food tastes delicious, and I will definitely come back again to enjoy a leisurely meal on my own, without any time pressure!

had a fantastic experience at Restaurant Bruut in Roden! The absolute highlight was the Petit Spare Rib sandwich. The meat was incredibly tender, perfectly glazed with a deep, savory sauce, and served on a high-quality rustic roll that held up perfectly to the fillings. It’s easily one of the most flavorful sandwiches I’ve had in the Netherlands I also tried their Limoncello Spritz, which was refreshing and paired beautifully with the meal.

The food was delicious. We had the sharing platter, and it was generously filled with delicious dishes! More than enough.

Went in today for the famous spicy spareribs. The ribs themselves had a good texture: nice and tender, nicely off the bone, and with a nice bite. That part was really good. However, the flavor leaned more towards sweet than spicy. I asked for more spice, but it felt like they'd been drizzled with more sauce instead of being truly spicy. A little more depth or real heat would have made them stronger. The salad and coleslaw were a bit disappointing and didn't add much to the overall experience. A shame, because a little more freshness or acidity would have nicely cut through the sweetness of the ribs. The portions were on the small side.

We had a delicious meal last night. We really wanted to go here after watching an episode of the sandwich testers about the spareribs. The service was really good, although they forgot the drinks once and it sometimes took a bit longer before we received them. Otherwise, this wasn't a problem. It was also very busy. The starter was delicious! Carpaccio and burrata. For the main course, we shared the Bruut platter. We also saw the hamburger bun in the other reviews; that looked very tasty to us too, but unfortunately, it wasn't included. Of course, this is possible, as the chefs decide for you. The spareribs on the platter were definitely our favorite. We would order those next time. For dessert, we had the salted caramel and the blondie. Both were also very tasty! The location was unique, though a bit chilly because there was a draft.

Just as you've ordered dessert, another waitress comes over to tell you we have 15 minutes left. When we then indicate we'd like to cancel it, they say they're working on it. Then, we repeat that we have 15 minutes left, and we again indicate that we'd like to cancel it and that we don't plan on eating it outside. Apparently, canceling it wasn't on the menu. Then, finally, it arrives after 5 minutes, and you feel incredibly rushed and have to eat it quickly. Unfortunately, this makes it feel like a frustrating end.

But when we asked if it could be a bit faster because our child was getting tired, it was no problem, and they stepped it up a notch. In short, you can definitely have a great meal here, and I bet we'll be back!

We had a delicious lunch here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The farmer's fried eggs were delicious, and we'll definitely order them again next time. The carpazzo fried eggs were also highly appreciated. Combined with the rosé, this made for a wonderful meal.

It's a good 200 km drive for our family, but what do you do if you "happen" to be in Roden? You can't afford to experience the rumors about Bruut for yourself. There actually wasn't room, but they managed to squeeze us in quickly. We ordered the famous rib sandwiches and the chicken. They weren't lying: if you like smoky meat, this is the place to be. Deliciously tender meat on an equally delicious bun, combined with the coleslaw, makes me want to go back again... Definitely worth it!

I stopped by for a spareribs sandwich. I hadn't ordered in advance, but since I was already there, they prepared it quickly. Within 5 minutes, I was outside with the sandwich. Much has already been said about the spareribs sandwich, and it is sooooo delicious. Spareribs that you could actually eat without sauce. So flavorful. Topped with a generous portion of spareribs in exactly the right proportions. Super tasty and super friendly staff.

A nice and cozy place to enjoy a good meal and catch up. I had the carpaccio as a starter, rib eye with port sauce as a main course, and vanilla ice cream with butter cake for dessert (see photo). Everything complemented each other perfectly, and we had a fantastic evening here.

Long wait, the waitresses were unfriendly and couldn't handle the crowd. The food wasn't even appetizing. There was one young man who was friendly and presented himself as a true host. There weren't enough menus for the restaurant. We wouldn't return.

We started our afternoon with a drink on the terrace. The staff and the atmosphere were so great that we wanted to stay for dinner. Only the bar table was still available. No problem for us. And that was a good move. What a fun and friendly young staff. Everyone was always up for a chat and a joke. We had a wonderful meal and were even able to buy the delicious homemade sambal. Highly recommended for a delicious meal at a great price in a cozy atmosphere. You'll definitely see us back from Brabant.
