This place is absolutely amazing! Great food, atmosphere and the views… percfect place for a nice meal!

Dishes are mediocre. Staff not very polite. Unfortunately, this is not the place for a pleasant meal. The prices are okay. Quite a shame, because the location is actually quite nice. You could have a better experience.

Even though it has changed owners, everything is still exactly the same: the menu, the layout, the terrace. Friendly service, nice space.

A mediocre cup of coffee from The Hague (just over half full), some of which ended up on the saucer and dripped down the sides of the cup. Didn't feel like slurping from a saucer on a crowded terrace, so I topped up my caffeine deficit at home.

Had lunch at this restaurant again after a long time. Hopefully, the new owner will pay more attention to quality and quality. Another major disappointment. Everything we ordered was bad; only the bottled drinks were good. The bread was stale, leftover crusts from the baguette; the fries were old or re-fried, dry, and way too hard; the egg was cold; the soup was wrong. The soup was not fresh and cold, but the croquette was good. Service was mediocre; we had to ask every time if we wanted to order anything else. It is probably more pleasant inside at the bar. I would say it might happen if it were peak busy and later in the afternoon. Anything but that; it was normal busy both on the terrace and inside. Toilets dirty and smell of urine, and that after only 2 hours of opening time. All in all, you won't see me back anytime soon; a shame for the beautiful location.

Had lunch today and ate downright badly: bread with avocado, salmon, poached egg. Served way too cold. Raw vegetables were also unappetizing, not fresh and crisp. A real shame, especially since the location is so beautiful. The service was very nice.

Good lunch menu, friendly service.

They advertise the new playground, which is also very nice. So you come here with children. But the kids' menu is nothing special. Fries with a snack or a toasted sandwich and an ice cream for dessert. They can't make child portions from the regular menu either. It was very disappointing.

Nice to have a drink after a lap around the lake. Vegetarian/vegan food still needs attention. Partly due to the acoustics, it was certainly not quiet.

Disappointing. Cold soup. It took a long time before this was properly resolved. It didn't happen automatically, but the coffee and soup have been removed from the bill. Card payment terminal on the terrace broken. Machine for making good iced coffee broken. Not worth repeating for us.

We decided to give it another try, this time for lunch. The service does its best, but it is all too messy and slow. The terrace has certainly been renovated and looks nicer. But just do the final work when no one is around... not on a crowded terrace. The food just wasn't good again. The avocado on bread wasn't really tasty, lacked flavor, the tomato puree was a bit strange, and the poached egg on top was cold and therefore really not good. Such a shame!!

Nice location, nice spacious terrace. Even though it wasn't busy, it took forever for the starter and main course to arrive. Furthermore, the dishes were very simple, with burnt mushrooms; something like that should obviously never leave the kitchen. I think you're better off going here for coffee (which was good) with apple pie.

The chicken satay is not what you expect. The chicken pieces are definitely not tender; they are tough and all seem a bit haphazardly put together, falling apart when you take them off the skewer. I didn't accept the first portion either. Furthermore, it would be better to serve the generous amount of satay sauce separately so it can be used as needed. The risotto my dining companion had, however, was excellent. We found the prices to be quite high.

The outdoor terrace has been renovated, which is a real plus. It has more atmosphere and the view of the Dobbeplas is beautiful.

Most reviews say it all. Very beautiful location by the water and the service was friendly. But that is where it ends. The atmosphere of the terrace itself and the restaurant truly lacks any character, and the food seems to have come out of a microwave, and of poor quality at that. A waste of such a location, but I would skip it!

Beautifully situated by the Dobbeplas. Following the recent upgrade of the outdoor terrace, the atmosphere outside has improved significantly. The service is prompt and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the coffee is of good quality. The apple pie is tasty and a generous slice. The lunch selection is fine and the portion size is perfectly adequate. However, I do think the beer selection could be a bit more extensive.

The glory has pretty much faded. The terrace is highly recommended in good weather, but they don't have much to offer regarding the atmosphere inside. Half of the serving staff (4 young girls) don't seem to care much about whether they can sell something extra (it took 20 minutes before they came to take our first drink order) or whether they have to show any hospitality when it is finally served (after 10 minutes). The food was as it should be, but clearing the plates and asking if we wanted dessert within 20 minutes of them being finished wasn't something they did either. Another missed opportunity: we had a nice meal at L'Arcobaleno on Dorpsstraat. The fact that the staff isn't very experienced doesn't bother me that much. But the fact that there seems to be nothing but inexperienced staff, half of whom lack any friendliness, I find quite sad.

There were 6 of us. The food felt simple to me. I am speaking only for myself. I had a chicken burger for lunch. It looked nice on the outside. BUT it was the worst chicken burger I have ever eaten. I didn't say anything about it because my lunch was served last, and if a new one had to come, I would have just sat and eaten alone. For me, once is enough, never again.

Yes and no, because the staff was friendly and competent, but somewhat understaffed due to the Mother's Day rush. Also, the staff was young and not sufficiently trained, but that wasn't their fault. Not a single glass was clean. Definitely a downside. The tables and chairs, however, were perfectly clean. The bar was full of overdue dishes and building materials around the play area hadn't been cleared away yet. The food was great! And they took peanut and nut allergies into account very well. So yes, recommended. But no, it's not quite there (yet). It certainly has potential. Large and spacious layout.

Unfortunately. Not/For the time being. No more pork tenderloin satay, but chicken egg instead. Chose a hamburger. Lots of fat and bits of bone. Stale fries. White edges... when squeezing, the fat drips out. Flavored raw vegetables. Left it untouched. Cheese toastie, 2 regular slices of bread with a slice of cheese, from the toaster. With tomato sauce, nothing else. We were really used to something different here. Good luck. Hope it changes.

We come here often, and normally the service and food are fine. Unfortunately, today was very disappointing and was just really bad. I actually don't even really know where to begin. The plastic in the food, everything being out of stock, the long wait, or not knowing their own menu. It started with everything being out of stock, the 0.0, then the Rosé; we thought, okay, fine, they are having some teething problems. We had reserved a table inside, so we moved from the terrace to the inside around 6:45 PM, when we were told that they didn't have enough menus for all the groups (we were 10 people and another similar large table, and a birthday party or something, plus 2 tables with a maximum of 4). You think, I'll distribute the menus and ask if people can perhaps look at them together, but no, the other table got all the menus and we got nothing. We sat waiting for a very long time and then we just looked up the menu on our phones ourselves. When someone finally came, she was surprised that we didn't have any menus. Anyway, we had solved it ourselves, so fine, and we didn't say anything further and continued trying to order our food. This was already tricky because the waitress couldn't find the Caesar salad and other salads on her cabinet, and they weren't on the menu even though we literally showed them to her. Eventually, we managed to get everything sorted out and ordered. We received our food; otherwise, it was quite fine. However, one salad still didn't go right; it was more of a starter than anything else and not what had been ordered. It was exchanged, but it still wasn't much to write home about. Then we ordered dessert. I ordered the brownie separately because it was listed on the menu under the pastries, after all. The rest ordered dessert as well, and a few ordered the chocolate dessert with brownie, ice cream, and macaron. The desserts arrived; unfortunately, no brownie, but a pecan tart instead (because they didn't have that), and a brownie. The waitress was surprised that this hadn't been mentioned. Well, no dessert for me then. Then came the chocolate desserts with brownie and without macaron. So there were indeed brownies, which is quite remarkable. The macarons were missing, but when we asked for them, they were brought eventually. I believe the menu isn't entirely clear to the kitchen. The desserts tasted good until we found 2 large pieces of plastic in one. Well, I found the reaction to this truly awful; totally not what you would expect. Eventually, the staff called the manager, and they said they would take the dessert with the plastic off the bill and offer us a cup of coffee on the house. When I indicated that by 9:30 PM we had had enough with 2 small children and didn't really feel like that, that was complicated too. When asked how we wanted to resolve it, I indicated that they could surely come up with something creative, but this was difficult as well. When I suggested that perhaps instead of coffee, they could take a round of drinks off the bill, that was difficult too. In the end, we did manage to get about a round of drinks off the bill, but the way it was done was truly disappointing. All in all, a disappointing evening. It seems like a good idea to me that, in addition to paying attention in the kitchen, they should also take a good look at the menu and ensure that you can actually serve it. It might be a good idea to arrange some support for your staff as well and not leave those young girls to their own devices, because while they really did their best, they couldn't get a handle on it all and clearly couldn't cope with the situation.

Unfortunately, we are very disappointed. It seemed like such a nice and promising café, but our experience was a real letdown. We had to wait an hour for a simple order: a sandwich, nacho chips, and a salad. That is really too long. Additionally, the food wasn't tasty either. To be honest, we had expected much more from this place. It is a real shame, because it could have been such a nice spot.

We visited with a group of 15 people. We had a delicious meal, and everything that had been agreed upon was properly fulfilled. Because there is good parking, you feel very welcome.

The three of us came for lunch. I had ordered bread with smoked salmon. The bread was old, dry, and tasteless. I therefore sent it back. The girl who served us checked my observation and agreed with me that the bread was dry and hard. If all the white bread was old, she would make a brown sandwich out of it. It took a long time; my company had already finished eating when I received my new sandwich, which was old again. The girl who served us found this very annoying and apologized. This time it took even longer, and I received a brown sandwich with a completely different filling. More apologies, and she said that I didn't have to pay for the sandwich. Now it took even longer again. After sitting on the terrace for 2 hours, I actually didn't feel like eating the sandwich anymore and walked inside to cancel it. However, the girl in question walked to the kitchen, and I heard her having an argument with the cook there. And that she said that this lady had been waiting for her order for 2 hours and that she had to keep making excuses. She came straight out of the kitchen with the sandwich afterwards. The brown bread underneath was, I think, fresh, or at least warmed up, so maybe that's why. However, it was topped with a huge thick layer of herb cheese with salmon scraps (salmon scraps off the bone) on top, and really not tasty. Extremely salty and lacking a nice salmon flavor, with the herb cheese completely overpowering it. I tried to scrape some cheese off the bread, but I couldn't do it without removing the salmon scraps along with it. Because I felt sorry for the nice girl who served us and who had been busy with my order for so long, I ate more than half of it. The description of the sandwich on the menu did not match what I received and what I was used to here. I read later that the place has been taken over. A shame. The previous cook made delicious sandwiches with really tasty bread. And if you ordered smoked salmon, you actually got slices of smoked salmon, which is what you should expect for the price they charge. The same applied to the bread my companion received with his croquettes. Suddenly, it was a tasteless, thin slice of supermarket bread instead of the nice, thick country bread we were used to. We will definitely be back. It is a nice place to sit and the service is super friendly. But not for lunch anymore, and I don't think for dinner either, judging by the reviews I've read about that. Just for a nice drink.

We were given a menu and then nothing more, so we just left. The staff walked right past our table a few times with a blank stare. The staff's comment was "it is very busy today," but there were 6 tables occupied... We have been here multiple times and always to our satisfaction, so this was a real disappointment. We had a drink here today and had a mediocre experience. The building and terrace look shabby and incredibly lacking in atmosphere. Ramshackle tables, weeds, no decor, wilted plastic plants on the table, and a stained paper menu... not very inviting. Our order was taken and then forgotten, so we watched people who had come in after us receive their orders. When we mentioned it, it was brought quickly, though. We were with our young child, so we had to wait a long time. There was no play area or anything similar, so that didn't help us relax a bit. We wouldn't be coming back anytime soon. The pork tenderloin satay was just cold; the satay sauce tasted delicious but was very thick and lumpy because it was too cold. The meat was overcooked, making it dry and cold. The rest of the table was already eating, and because I didn't feel like waiting for hot food again, I just left it at that. However, this is really something for the kitchen to pay attention to: serve hot food and don't overcook the pork tenderloin. It looked like this portion had simply been sitting out for quite some time and wasn't freshly prepared and served immediately. The burgers were very red inside. It just wasn't quite there. Dessert, though, was perfect! Very tasty. The location is beautiful. Maybe we'll try lunch sometime, but the main course wasn't something we'd repeat.

A cozy restaurant with a lovely outdoor terrace right on the lake. They offer a lunch menu until 4 pm and an evening menu from 5 pm onwards. We received friendly service, and our dinner order was even prepared before 5 pm. Our burgers were of excellent quality, every single component was top-notch. We'll definitely be back.

Be warned! After a morning walk, we decided to stop here for a quick drink. That turned out to be a big mistake. We had to pay €20 for 3 coffees and 1 tea. Truly absurd. When paying, I was boiling with rage on the inside. Charging that much for a few simple drinks is just shameless. It almost feels like you're being ripped off. In hindsight, I immediately understand why the restaurant was practically empty. With such ridiculous prices, you naturally drive people away. For us, once is enough, never again. If you don't plan on paying way too much for something simple, you'd better avoid this place.

It was a weird experience when we ask for tap water they bring water i a glass of small shot, and said "if you want you can order bottle of water". Is it too much to give people water? :) Also sandwich was so small portion.

A truly dismal experience. The staff has no professional knowledge whatsoever. They can't even read aloud. Questions about the content remain unanswered. Satay dishes are burnt; one plate contains only cold meat and cold mashed potatoes. Chicken piri piri arrives without the piri piri sauce. Then the sauce arrives, ice cold. Desserts arrive one by one, ten minutes apart. So you don't eat at the same time. There's a mistake on the bill. The menu discount is forgotten. Not even a gesture towards us because of all the mistakes. What a disaster, that takeover!

Finally ate some nice crispy fries again with a great burger.

The only restaurant in the Delftse Hout area that was open on Boxing Day. Unfortunately, they didn't have mulled wine or any "vlametjes" (small Dutch sausages). The bitterballen (Dutch meatballs) were way too expensive. So I ordered hot chocolate with whipped cream. The atmosphere wasn't very Christmassy there.

On Christmas Day, we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas brunch here. Something that's often difficult when you have to eat lactose- and gluten-free. They were very helpful; the gluten-free bread was delicious, as was the soup!

We often came here for lunch with our dogs, ourselves included, of course, and it was always great. Today, however, we were completely disappointed. We ordered a vegetarian and an oriental chicken dish with bread, but it tasted awful...the vegetarian dish was tasteless, and the bread crusts (no more buns) were a real pain in the ass. The oriental chicken dish didn't come with any bell pepper, onion, or chili peppers like before, and the bread and such. Apparently, there's a new owner and a new chef, but the menu and prices have remained the same. As a consolation measure, one cappuccino (we each had one) was taken off the bill. Only our grandson enjoyed his meal: a frikandel with fries. We'll never be back, unless something drastic has changed.

We wanted to order a drink and bitterballen. The table next to us was cleaned (crumbs were swept onto the floor and a chair) and their order was taken, but no one paid attention to our table, which hadn't been cleared from the previous occupants. I asked the bar to clean our table as well, and they used the same, untidied cloth. The drinks and bitterballen were fine. The staff were otherwise friendly, but more concerned with each other than with the customers.

After a long wait for the waiter, who didn't bother to clean the table, I ordered two oven rolls with salmon and a poached egg, and one with goat cheese and arugula. Both rolls were burnt, the poached egg was missing, as was the arugula. Then we waited 20 minutes for the egg. Was everything to my liking? Not so. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I definitely wouldn't throw a party here. The service is terrible. They don't even come to take your drink orders. And if you order them yourself at the bar, it takes ages to get anything, even if it even comes after asking several times. They have no interest in incoming guests. Cake isn't brought upon arrival. You have to ask for it and then hope it's given to you. This is no way to have a good party.

Not exceptional but a good place to sit and have a quick meal. Specially if you have been walking around the beautiful surroundings. The have some very nice beers.

I was having a nice cup of coffee and apple pie with my buddy, and when I got there, it was closed. It said on the door that it's now closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. That wasn't on the website. Really awful.

Amazing atmosphere sitting next to the sea with nice breeze and beautiful sun, the menu was good and good prices and all of our dishes were big and worth it. The service was good and polite. My burger tho the beef’s taste was not proper it was smelling like sausage and I didn’t like that. I am not sure what caused it but yeah. Everything else was perfect!

I'm writing this review based on the terrace. My husband and I have known this restaurant for years because it's a lovely stop during a walk. We're amazed every year at how poorly maintained the terrace is, but this week I didn't want to spend my money there anymore. All the woodwork is rotten, and every corner is covered in cobwebs and flies. How can you invite guests here? It's lovely to sit outside, but I had a table right next to the window frame, so we left without ordering anything. Such a shame about this location. If they did some maintenance and fixed the wooden decking, I'd come back. But it's a truly filthy mess, and I don't have any faith in the kitchen either.

The sandwich was delicious, and the terrace was excellent in the sun. The first time it took a bit longer, but the second time the service was very fast.

The satay was tough and very overdone. There wasn't much satay sauce. The chicken breasts had suddenly become wings (like chews). The service was friendly. Hopefully, the food will be better next time, then I'll adjust the rating.

What an embarrassing display. Celebrated a birthday here with a lunch arrangement. Upon entering, the first thing you hear is that you are not welcome with a dog. Despite the fact that it was discussed by telephone and that the website states that dogs are welcome until 1700 hours. Then you wait 45 minutes for a cup of Knorr instant powder soup. To then get some perfectly good meats and cheeses on the table, a warm croquette and some potato salad. But the bread that you get with it... Old dried out white and brown buns and unbaked brown Kaiser rolls. The idea seems to be to make money quickly with the highest possible margin. What a shame...

This restaurant is in a nice spot. Despite the beautiful view, the terrace does not invite you to sit down, it is a bit uninviting and cold, could be a bit more atmospheric. Staff is friendly. We got two double espresso to go, 11€ in total. I don't often pay attention to prices, but I find 5.50€ for a mediocre tasting double espresso in a paper cup in the Nootdorp/Pijnacker area quite expensive.

Soggy old apple cake. Very old and dry lemon cake and sour orange juice. With one coffee that's 20+ Euros. It wasn't worth even 10. The service was OK. Won't come there another time. I just don't understand how you can serve this garbage to people and charge so much. 2 star in stead of one, because the service was Ok.

Super mooie locatie aan de dobbeplas. We werden warm ontvangen door het personeel en niets was te veel. We hebben hier heerlijk gelunched. Wij vonden prijs kwaliteit boven gemiddeld,we komen zeker nog een keertje terug. Lijkt ons ook leuk om aan het water te zitten in de zomer

After having had a really good meal here a number of times, tonight was a huge disappointment. I ordered the spare ribs as a main course. They probably receive these already pre-cooked, because they forgot to prepare them. They were really still refrigerator cold. So I went straight back to the kitchen, where they probably put the meat in the microwave for a while, because I got the same pieces back after a few minutes. Unfortunately they were no more than lukewarm and certainly not warm. So back again. The third time, after another round of microwave cooking, they were piping hot. Unfortunately, they were also completely dried out from being microwaved. And to make matters worse, there was a hair on the spare ribs. So I finished eating very quickly, because my appetite had disappeared by now. It would have been nice if the kitchen employee (sorry, I can't call him a chef) had come to apologize for this enormous disappointment. Especially because we couldn't have a nice meal at the same time. The service paid no attention to the few people in the restaurant. The employees only stood behind the bar chatting with each other and did not come to the table to ask if everything was OK or to bring the dessert menu. The desserts themselves were quite tasty, but a very minimal portion. Super small piece of tiramisu with a mountain of whipped cream, probably to give it a little volume, and 3 small scoops of chocolate mousse with again a lot of whipped cream. I now understand why there were only 3 tables occupied on a Saturday evening. We will skip this restaurant from now on.
