Restaurant Buytenhout in Nootdorp

We received a menu and then nothing, so we left. The staff, with their eyes fixed on infinity, walked right past our table several times. The staff commented, "It's very busy today," but there were only six tables occupied... We've been here several times and have always been satisfied, so this was a real disappointment.

The only restaurant in the Delftse Hout area that was open on Boxing Day. Unfortunately, they didn't have mulled wine or any "vlametjes" (small Dutch sausages). The bitterballen (Dutch meatballs) were way too expensive. So I ordered hot chocolate with whipped cream. The atmosphere wasn't very Christmassy there.

On Christmas Day, we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas brunch here. Something that's often difficult when you have to eat lactose- and gluten-free. They were very helpful; the gluten-free bread was delicious, as was the soup!

We often came here for lunch with our dogs, ourselves included, of course, and it was always great. Today, however, we were completely disappointed. We ordered a vegetarian and an oriental chicken dish with bread, but it tasted awful...the vegetarian dish was tasteless, and the bread crusts (no more buns) were a real pain in the ass. The oriental chicken dish didn't come with any bell pepper, onion, or chili peppers like before, and the bread and such. Apparently, there's a new owner and a new chef, but the menu and prices have remained the same. As a consolation measure, one cappuccino (we each had one) was taken off the bill. Only our grandson enjoyed his meal: a frikandel with fries. We'll never be back, unless something drastic has changed.

Finally I had some nice, crispy fries with an excellent burger.

We wanted to order a drink and bitterballen. The table next to us was cleaned (crumbs were swept onto the floor and a chair) and their order was taken, but no one paid attention to our table, which hadn't been cleared from the previous occupants. I asked the bar to clean our table as well, and they used the same, untidied cloth. The drinks and bitterballen were fine. The staff were otherwise friendly, but more concerned with each other than with the customers.

After a long wait for the waiter, who didn't bother to clean the table, I ordered two oven rolls with salmon and a poached egg, and one with goat cheese and arugula. Both rolls were burnt, the poached egg was missing, as was the arugula. Then we waited 20 minutes for the egg. Was everything to my liking? Not so. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I definitely wouldn't throw a party here. The service is terrible. They don't even come to take your drink orders. And if you order them yourself at the bar, it takes ages to get anything, even if it even comes after asking several times. They have no interest in incoming guests. Cake isn't brought upon arrival. You have to ask for it and then hope it's given to you. This is no way to have a good party.

Not exceptional but a good place to sit and have a quick meal. Specially if you have been walking around the beautiful surroundings. The have some very nice beers.

I was having a nice cup of coffee and apple pie with my buddy, and when I got there, it was closed. It said on the door that it's now closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. That wasn't on the website. Really awful.

Amazing atmosphere sitting next to the sea with nice breeze and beautiful sun, the menu was good and good prices and all of our dishes were big and worth it. The service was good and polite. My burger tho the beef’s taste was not proper it was smelling like sausage and I didn’t like that. I am not sure what caused it but yeah. Everything else was perfect!

I'm writing this review based on the terrace. My husband and I have known this restaurant for years because it's a lovely stop during a walk. We're amazed every year at how poorly maintained the terrace is, but this week I didn't want to spend my money there anymore. All the woodwork is rotten, and every corner is covered in cobwebs and flies. How can you invite guests here? It's lovely to sit outside, but I had a table right next to the window frame, so we left without ordering anything. Such a shame about this location. If they did some maintenance and fixed the wooden decking, I'd come back. But it's a truly filthy mess, and I don't have any faith in the kitchen either.

The sandwich was delicious, and the terrace was excellent in the sun. The first time it took a bit longer, but the second time the service was very fast.

The satay was tough and very overdone. There wasn't much satay sauce. The chicken breasts had suddenly become wings (like chews). The service was friendly. Hopefully, the food will be better next time, then I'll adjust the rating.

Great location, friendly staff, quick service, delicious food. If you're at the Dobbeplas anyway, you can enjoy drinks afterward and lunch during your visit. Absolutely fantastic!

Making a reservation can sometimes be a bit difficult, but once inside it is worth it. We came here for lunch and it is noticeable that the menu is not very large, but the dishes are surprisingly complete and very tasty. It is definitely recommended..

This restaurant welcomes dogs..provided they are 'clean and dry', and that while you are sitting at the dog forest! How welcome 😄 once got a towel to dry my dog ​​while the owner looked at my dog ​​with horror. What an embarrassing display. Celebrated a birthday here with a lunch arrangement. Upon entering, the first thing you hear is that you are not welcome with a dog. Despite the fact that it was discussed by telephone and that the website states that dogs are welcome until 1700 hours. Then you wait 45 minutes for a cup of Knorr instant powder soup. To then get some perfectly good meats and cheeses on the table, a warm croquette and some potato salad. But the bread that you get with it... Old dried out white and brown buns and unbaked brown Kaiser rolls. The idea seems to be to make money quickly with the highest possible margin. What a shame...

This restaurant is in a nice spot. Despite the beautiful view, the terrace does not invite you to sit down, it is a bit uninviting and cold, could be a bit more atmospheric. Staff is friendly. We got two double espresso to go, 11€ in total. I don't often pay attention to prices, but I find 5.50€ for a mediocre tasting double espresso in a paper cup in the Nootdorp/Pijnacker area quite expensive.

Soggy old apple cake. Very old and dry lemon cake and sour orange juice. With one coffee that's 20+ Euros. It wasn't worth even 10. The service was OK. Won't come there another time. I just don't understand how you can serve this garbage to people and charge so much. 2 star in stead of one, because the service was Ok.

Prima restaurant op een mooie locatie. Het voorgerecht carpaccio was heel lekker, het hoofdgerecht met biefstuk kan duidelijk beter (met name warmer en iets malser), toetje dame blanche was weer heel lekker. Bediening was vriendelijk

Super mooie locatie aan de dobbeplas. We werden warm ontvangen door het personeel en niets was te veel. We hebben hier heerlijk gelunched. Wij vonden prijs kwaliteit boven gemiddeld,we komen zeker nog een keertje terug. Lijkt ons ook leuk om aan het water te zitten in de zomer

On Boxing Day, 10 people participated in a Christmas brunch/buffet. In a word, great. Was cozy and good staff. Worth repeating. Who knows!

After having had a really good meal here a number of times, tonight was a huge disappointment. I ordered the spare ribs as a main course. They probably receive these already pre-cooked, because they forgot to prepare them. They were really still refrigerator cold. So I went straight back to the kitchen, where they probably put the meat in the microwave for a while, because I got the same pieces back after a few minutes. Unfortunately they were no more than lukewarm and certainly not warm. So back again. The third time, after another round of microwave cooking, they were piping hot. Unfortunately, they were also completely dried out from being microwaved. And to make matters worse, there was a hair on the spare ribs. So I finished eating very quickly, because my appetite had disappeared by now. It would have been nice if the kitchen employee (sorry, I can't call him a chef) had come to apologize for this enormous disappointment. Especially because we couldn't have a nice meal at the same time. The service paid no attention to the few people in the restaurant. The employees only stood behind the bar chatting with each other and did not come to the table to ask if everything was OK or to bring the dessert menu. The desserts themselves were quite tasty, but a very minimal portion. Super small piece of tiramisu with a mountain of whipped cream, probably to give it a little volume, and 3 small scoops of chocolate mousse with again a lot of whipped cream. I now understand why there were only 3 tables occupied on a Saturday evening. We will skip this restaurant from now on.

A nice place to sit, food is fine but the service is the worst! Been several times but this took the cake! We arrived at 4pm. Too late for lunch and too early for dinner, it was said. We ordered something from the 'Bites' menu, a white wine and a white martini with bitter lemon. Apparently that was rocket science. The bites were already delivered, but after more than half an hour still no drinks. After the 3rd! Once we asked, we saw with our own eyes that they found the concept of martini/bitter lemon so strange that the three of them stood there tasting my drink! Scandalous! No words for...

Not really worth a review. After a walk we sat down on the terrace for a drink. A boy in the service who was cleaning up saw us take a seat. After waiting 30 minutes to even order anything, we left. Attention was focused on the room inside. The people at the table behind us also got up. There was no service on the terrace. Missed opportunity.

Super nice service, like child abuse! The food was terrible, I turned the menu over for other dishes, but the menu only consisted of 1 A4 page! The dobbekroquettes are recommended if you want a severe stomach ache and a dirty toilet!!! Enjoy your meal 😋😋

We had a nice party here with family and friends, with drinks and buffet. It was nice to think about how to organize this well, we had a beautiful evening with good food in a good atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Today, August 17, 2024, we enjoyed a high tea with 20 guests. Delicious dishes, lots of choice and most of it cracking fresh, sometimes still warm from the oven. We were in a separate room, great service, flexible for dietary requirements and children's happiness. Really recommended!

Nice terrace after a short walk

Unfriendly, dirty, a piece of cheesecake for 5.50! The taste was really "subpar." Two of the three waitresses present were arrogant and didn't care about the guests. The third was super nice, helpful, friendly! Unfortunately, I can only recommend the beautiful view, the "clean" is different... unfortunately, I'm really disappointed!

Perfect place for a nice few hours of food. Beautiful location, delicious food. The chicken satay was delicious. However, we had a different expectation with the ribeye. Thin cloth with strings... also with our neighbor behind me. Small point for improvement...for the next round of eating. Worth repeating.

The two of us have been coming here for years. Unfortunately it is no longer what it used to be. The wine is not at the right temperature, it has always been that way. Alrijd eye box with ice cubes :(. But regularly the food is no longer as it used to be. Today we ordered a 3-course menu (as always). Unfortunately, the meat was just cold. And it is simply dismissed with, 'I'll pass it on to the chef'. Asked for ice cubes again. Finally paid. Only then did we get any dessert. All in all, friendly staff, but there are quite a few things that could be improved. soup) was tasty :). All in all, we keep coming here, but it is becoming less and less like this. Too bad.

Drinks board a bit expensive at 24 euros

After having been very satisfied with the quality/price years ago, I am unfortunately no longer satisfied. Had to wait a very long time for the sandwiches, did not receive the sandwich with the ingredients as described on the menu and found it to be mild. I also indicated this and received a new sandwich with a much better filling, unfortunately we had to wait a while. The other sandwich was finished before I got my sandwich again. Fine for a drink, but food is no longer what it was a few years ago, unfortunately.

Years ago it was a very nice place, now the outside is outdated and not fresh, a lot of staff and they are way too busy with themselves, older lady is not friendly and pretends to be very busy but unfortunately, does not look outside I would say just clean and chamois the outside area, it doesn't cost anything Waited way too long to order something

There are 4 staff present in the shop, but no one cares about the terrace. I had to go inside to have a waitress take the order. Shame.

Unfortunately, the food was of very poor quality and it took a really long time. Waiting 1.5 hours for a simple starter and then finally hearing that they have forgotten you and within 5 minutes the starter and then the main course were prepared incorrectly. The only thing that went perfectly was the service, thanks in part to them we stayed seated. Unfortunately a disappointment for a beautiful location.

I had to choose a star but no stars for us, bad experience. Never had such a bad gluten-free goat cheese sandwich before. Several things went wrong. Jammer dat we een aangepast menu moesten,helaas niet vermeld bij de reservering. Soep was vreselijk. Bij de kroketten toast ? Broodje tonijn echt minimaal voor 12.50. Jongen van 15 jaar deed de bediening het wel super. Laatste keer geweest.

Nice place with a beautiful lake

Went here with a few friends and had the best meals i’ve had in awhile. The view of the water was gorgeous aswell! They have such a different menu then im used to but every dish we had (and shared bites to taste) was great, the fried brie and cranberry sauce, curry, ribs and fries and more was so good! You wouldn’t think you would have all these flavours from a place like here but no, truly great. Im totally coming back here when i het the next chance!

Terras vuil, tafel met vuil servicegoed bleef gewoon staan. Parasols werden in gehaald want de verwachting was dat het ging regenen en zei de serveerster 'ze waren erg duur' Eten erg slecht we hebben het laten staan. Dus voor die prijs geen aanrader. Jammer in het verleden gingen we er erg graag heen.

There is always room at Buytenhout, even without a reservation. The food is of good quality for a reasonable price, the service is friendly, it is always pleasant (although a bit noisy), and the view over the Dobbeplas is always beautiful.

Top, super good price-quality ratio and the location on the lake is fantastic. From here you can walk around the lake in an hour. Friendly staff, well-made sandwiches and fast service.

Want to dine at Buytenhout? Recommended! We were recently guests at Buytenhout with our 10-person dining club. What an unexpected surprise that was. When we arrived, bread, wine and water were already on the table as agreed. We had a beautiful spot by the window. Despite the group size, we were each able to order à la carte. The starters we chose, carpaccio, salmon salad and duck breast, were delicious. The main courses, steak, catch of the day and satay, were generous portions. The steak was wonderfully tender. At the catch of the day we had the choice between cod and tuna due to the group size. Both well prepared and delicious. After dessert and an extra cup of coffee, a surprise awaited us: the bill. Despite wine and water and the extra bread and coffee, we paid just under €50 pp. Well done Buytenhout.

Deze fijne plek in een prachtige omgeving bezoek ik meestal wanneer ik op doorreis ben en/of trek heb in iets hartigs. Voorgaande keer was het bittergarnituur, welke ik netjes in een to-go verpakking mee kreeg. Sausje en servetje erbij. Afgelopen week een van de heerlijke tosti's geprobeerd. En ik ben om; de tosti met tomaat en ui + side dish, vind ik zeker een aanrader. Een verse muntthee erbij. Hartelijke mensen aanwezig en ik heb de algehele service als heel prettig ervaren. Het bezoek is voor mij voor herhaling vatbaar. (Tevens om de kaart eens verder te bekijken en af te gaan.) Dankjulliewel voor het ontvangst en de goede zorgen!

Busy on the first sunny day of January (just like several restaurants in the area), but a pleasant waitress immediately cleaned a table that had just become available and we were therefore able to order immediately. Great service!

It was good food and good service. The starter was quite fast, in my opinion a bit too fast and I understand that this also has to do with the fact that it is quiet. The main course came a little slower and that was also very pleasant, everything tasted good and there was nothing much to complain about. The dessert was okay in my opinion, but I thought the stewed pears were cooked a little too undercooked and the flavor had not been absorbed properly because the core was still very pale. Too bad because the rest was of little note. There was an error in the receipt, but we take that for granted. Furthermore, a great evening and nice service!

Wij hebben daar geluncht na de uitvaart van mijn schoon ouders. Eten was goed, snel geserveerd. Vond t jammer dat er een kat binnen rond liep. En ook dat er een personeels lid t nodig vond om de gerechten door te roepen. Daarbij zaten 20 man, waarvan1 p. in een rolstoel, weg gestopt in een nis. Begrijp dat dit uit privacy oogpunt is gedaan, maar was erg krap. Zeg er gelijk bij dat ik daar vaker heb geluncht en t toen anders toe ging.
