Beautiful location and stunning view. The furniture is neat, however the sofas are due for replacement, a bit worn. The food is well prepared, however keeping it warm could use more attention; it shouldn't be done with just one tea light, causing the food to cool down quickly, which is a shame.

Ate here on 30-8-'26. It was very busy in the restaurant and at the takeaway. This resulted in excessively long waiting times (1.5 hours) before the main course arrived at the table. The service and taste were great again!

The food wasn't very warm. A table was shown to us. Be sure to reserve in advance because on SATURDAY at 6:00 PM it gets boring! If you want a drink, ask for it, otherwise they just walk right past!

We love coming here, and the food is actually always good. The dishes have refined flavors, the portions are generous (you can even take home any leftovers), and the presentation and atmosphere are also very well-cared for. The tables are beautifully set with nice cutlery, and I always find the tiered stand with candles to keep the dishes warm to be a nice, traditional touch. The view over the water and the friendly service also complete the experience. The only thing we found a pity was the new method/option for ordering drinks via a QR code. You still order the food directly from the waitress, which made it feel a bit strange to us that drinks had to be ordered by phone. Personally, that takes away a bit of the traditional restaurant feel and personal contact, which is exactly what suits this restaurant so well. Otherwise, there is really nothing to complain about. A lovely restaurant with delicious food that we love coming back to!

Well-known and beloved restaurant. Food and service are fine. However, I have my doubts about the grilled salmon. Not a trace or taste of a grill. Moreover, it was smothered in sauce. That is not my idea of ​​grilling. The dish could really be better.

We dined at 't Platje with 6 people on August 7th. We were all enthusiastic about the delicious food, the atmosphere, and of course, the view. And we took the leftovers home without any problems so we can continue to enjoy it at home. That calls for a repeat!!

Very busy, but a good Chinese restaurant in Vlaardingen. There are 3 floors... The ground floor is the takeaway section... The 1st floor is the restaurant... The 2nd floor is the rooftop terrace (it was still too cold when we were there) Nicely decorated with tables by the window so you can look out over the Maas while you eat. The service is also very good. It is not the cheapest Chinese restaurant, so keep that in mind.

We had a delicious meal; the sushi was incredibly fresh as a starter, and the main courses were also very tasty. The staff is friendly, and if you don't finish everything, you can take home containers with what you left behind. That way, they don't have to throw away any food. It's also a very pleasant place to sit.

The four of us enjoyed ourselves immensely. Our nephew and his son had flown in from Newcastle upon Tyne. We took them out for dinner, and where better to do that than at China Garden? The food was delicious once again; compliments to the chefs. The service was also top-notch. We love it.

We have been coming here for 50 years; it is a real family business. It is so nice; we have seen the owner's children—the father and mother—grow up. It is now the son's turn to uphold the flag of this beautiful establishment once again. All compliments to the entire family, and the youngest member is doing a fantastic job too. Above all, the food is of superior quality. If you love Chinese food and value service, this place is a must for everyone.

Unfortunately, for the first time, a complaint which I also mentioned to the waitress. We had the dish Da pim pam, of which the (tja sieuw) was very dry with many hard pieces. We had to send it back to the kitchen afterwards. It was very busy, but that should not come at the expense of the quality we have come to expect from you. Unfortunately.

Excellent Chinese and Indonesian food. We were with a group of 7 and had the Ricetable. There was more food that we could eat and it was all delicious. There was Nasi Goreng, Bahmi Goreng, another noodle dish and white rice, and then there were 5 or 6 dishes of chicken, beef, pork and shrimp. before or after dinner you can go up to the roof terrace, and watch the boats go by on the Nieuwe Maas. Don't miss this place if you are in Vlaaardingen, but make reservations, they are very busy.

This was our first time dining at this restaurant, and it was with a group of 9 people. The building has been rebuilt from the ground up and is now storm surge resistant. The view over the water of the Rotterdam harbor never gets old. From both the outside and the inside, the kitchen is visible from the ground floor, with the dining area on the 1st and 2nd floors. Thanks to the clever layout, you don't get an impression of the floor space. Everything is clean and tidy. The hostesses are friendly and attentive. We asked to have the main course put together by the kitchen. After the starter, that took some time. The dishes were tasty, however, they were quite similar to each other. Mostly meat and limited vegetables. It is unusual to be served sushi, which in my opinion is more Japanese. But it was certainly varied.

We had a wonderful, non-standard Chinese meal. We ordered a small pan and a bird's nest, which was excellent, with lots of meat and shrimp. The service was great, and we also enjoyed some good wine. Friendly service.

Pangsit is the only place that's truly awful. Otherwise, the food is delicious, but quite pricey.

The food was delicious! We were surprised by the dish in a pan. The birthday boy's surprise was a delicious homemade dessert! Lovely spot with a window overlooking the waterway as the snow slowly started to fall—gorgeous! We will definitely be back!

The food was excellent, but the downside was that our friend, who has a gluten allergy, still had a lot of problems with the food afterward, feeling quite ill for a few days! Previous times it was fine, but this time it went wrong. Something went wrong in the kitchen! Despite this review also being posted on the China Garden website, there was no response. China Garden is also not responding to this review. It's probably normal to get sick from the food!

Today, January 25th, we made a reservation for two people at 2:00 PM, and the welcome was warm and friendly upon arrival and departure. We had a lovely, peaceful meal in a completely empty restaurant, which remained empty. Fast service and, importantly, no smells from other guests' dishes. A bit of chatting, eating, watching boats pass by, and the peace and quiet... perfect.

While enjoying all the delicious food, we looked out over the water and the passing ships. I was there a few weeks ago. I'd requested a quiet, romantic table by the window. It seemed like it would be fine, but behind us, a large table was set for six adults and four children. Not a big deal, but the children made a lot of noise. They were jumping and making a racket right next to us. They were also running around the dining room, full of guests. I gave the grandfather a pointed look, but he didn't react at all. I also indirectly pointed out to the staff a few times that this wasn't possible. However, the staff seemed perfectly fine with it. Upon leaving, I also mentioned that it was more like a McDonald's or a pancake restaurant, where this is commonplace, but not in such a restaurant. What I was then told was that I should have mentioned this beforehand. That comment really rubbed me the wrong way, because that's exactly what I did. Then, next time, I'd have to ask if I could go to the top floor... So... I'd deliberately asked for a quiet, romantic spot, not screaming and jumping children between 8 and 12. This was terrible. The food was fantastic, and so was the service, but in the future, I think it's necessary to take this to heart and confront the parents. If I'd done it myself, it would have been a riot.

This is supposed to be the best Chinese restaurant in Vlaardingen. Well, the service at McDonald's is even better. Let's hope the tide rises soon and the restaurant washes away...

Our son and daughter-in-law took us to China Garden last Saturday evening for a lavish dinner to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We ate there together 50 years ago. It was fantastic, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious (we do that often), the place was cozy, the restrooms were super clean, and the place had a lovely, atmospheric decor. Afterwards, the owner's son gave us a bottle of red wine to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. So kind! I highly recommend this place. Thanks again. 😊👍

Plenty of choice, delicious food, friendly service

We had dinner with two people on Saturday evening. The decor is very atmospheric and the view over the water is stunning. The service was friendly, but for me, everything came a little too quickly, so you'd just finish your starter and start your main course. Just a few minutes into your meal, the food would be cleared and the dessert menu would appear. I personally think longer breaks would be welcome. It makes me feel like I need to leave quickly to make way for the next customers. Otherwise, the food was delicious, the menu was extensive, and the atmosphere was great.
