Had a delicious meal, pleasantly surprised! Beautiful and atmospheric decor. Friendly service. The food (pork tenderloin with herb butter and pork schnitzel) was fine. Tasty fries, fried potatoes, and salad on the side. Fresh baguette with herb butter as a starter (free). Good wine and fresh orange juice. The desserts, fresh strawberry sorbet and chocolate cake, were also delicious! We would love to come back again!

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience. We had to wait almost 2 hours for our food. With children present, that is, of course, an incredibly long time. After going to the bathroom, the children walked around for a bit and played under the table, because, understandably, they started to get bored after such a long wait. We were subsequently addressed about this in a very unfriendly and unnecessarily rude manner. It almost came across as if children are not welcome here. The service was also disappointing. When the food was finally served, the staff couldn't even properly explain which dishes they were putting on the table. That, combined with the attitude of the young staff, came across as very uninterested and arrogant. Additionally, the owner certainly did not come across as hospitable or friendly. If you make guests wait almost two hours for their food, in my opinion, you should show some understanding when children start to get bored in the meantime. A normal, friendly way of addressing them would have made a world of difference. Unfortunately, for us, it was not a pleasant or hospitable experience, and certainly not one we would repeat.

We were greeted warmly, and they even had an Italian menu available, which I found a nice gesture toward foreign customers. The place was cozy and quiet! The waiter and manager were very friendly! And finally... the food was very good!

Reserved for a group at 6 PM. The first two members of the party went outside to sit under the canopy for a moment. The lounge set looked dry, but turned out to be a sponge. That resulted in wet trousers. The owner was laconic about it: yes, it had rained this afternoon. When we left, the trousers were practically dry, not because the wetness wasn't too bad, but because we had to wait a very long time for our food. First, the entire order for the whole party had to be redone because it hadn't arrived in the kitchen; this was supposedly due to a Wi-Fi outage. After we had been there for 1 hour and 20 minutes, the starter arrived for those who had ordered it. By now, a few people in our party started feeling unwell because they need to eat for medical reasons. Our reporting this and asking what was causing the delay made no impression. So, from now on, bring a sandwich to Damzicht! The main course finally arrived at 8 PM. And it must be said: the food was tasty. Before leaving, we wanted to have a drink, but cappuccino and mint tea were no longer available: the milk was gone and the mint was gone....

We dined with a group of 8 people. Our order was taken, but had to be done again after half an hour; the Wi-Fi had gone down, we had to wait 2 hours for our food, and when we asked where our food was, the owner was so rude that we could hear it upstairs. If you treat your customers like that, you should be ashamed and are not worthy of being a host. Ordered mint tea, sorry, no mint, it's dried out; ordered cappuccino, sorry, the milk machine is broken. Then you just take a carton of milk and froth it by hand; surely you have chefs on staff? Throughout the entire evening, not a single apology from anyone, no drink on the house for the long wait, absolutely nothing... Very poor service, we will never come back. It used to be better...

We ate upstairs. Nice space. Toilet only upstairs, accessible via stairs. Friendly service and good food. Ordered chicken cordon bleu; personally, I find this dish too big, too thick. The cheese wasn't completely melted. I also couldn't finish it entirely. Fries, baked potatoes, and salad are served with the main courses. Due to the large main course, I didn't have dessert and stuck to coffee. Recommended, make a reservation to be sure of a table.

When you walk into this restaurant, it feels cozy and homey. The service is friendly and answers all your questions. The food is delicious. I would have liked to know that the fried mussels came with bacon, but that's a minor detail. A brown bread option would also have been nice. A very nice restaurant with a great interior ambiance. Extremely friendly staff, and the menu was brought to us in German without asking. Our dog was only allowed to sit outside, but that didn't bother us. The price for the fish dishes we had was perfectly reasonable. We'd happily return if we're in the area.

On the way back from Kinderdijk, we came to this beautiful community. In this quiet town, there is a delicious restaurant. The food is above standard.

Quite a nice place. We went there to eat because we didn't want any fast food. Unfortunately, the children's menu only had processed chicken nuggets and fries. A strange combination with apple puree. They brought my daughter mushrooms on bacon and onions, but they forgot the toast. We had to warn them. By the time they brought the toast, the mushrooms were already cold, so we were not satisfied. After warning them, they reheated the mushrooms and brought the toast. This is an example of how small details determine the overall impression. The staff seemed nice and helpful.

After being in Kinderdijk we had a nice lunch here. On my own this time. Since it was Thursday, I had plenty of choice as to where I could sit. I had a Flatbread Deluxe with a 'Great White wheat beer on tap and a Spa blue. The Flatbread was slightly crispy and generously topped with carpaccio, a fried egg, arugula, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts, parmesan cheese shavings and a little bit of balsamic vinegar. Tasty, fresh. The wheat beer too, I didn't know this one yet. Nice and fresh and fruity in taste. Wonderful with the warm weather. Furthermore, the service was also friendly, so certainly no complaints in that area.

Nee, ik wil graag een beetje koude melk in mijn thee. Grote zaak, mooi ingericht, maar op het aantal zitplaatsen slechts 1 heren- en damestoilet, hoe dan?

Chose a simple, tasty dish for lunch and it was served beyond expectations. Have been here several times and it is recommended that everyone make a reservation here.

Ik kwam met een groep van 12 mensen (waaronder 2 kinderen van 5 en 8 jaar) om ca 18:30, reservering was 2 dagen eerder gemaakt. Personeel was aardig, wij werden vriendelijk ontvangen en het eten was in orde. Alleen kregen wij het eten pas om 19:50. Wij voelden ons vergeten, er was ook geen waarschuwing dat het langer zou duren. Wij zijn twee keer geweest vragen over waar het eten was, de tweede keer was ik boos geworden, dat was niet leuk. Kennelijk waren de redenen dat het lang duurde het volgende: het was druk en wij hebben geen voorgerecht besteld (direct hoofdgerecht). Zij deden hun best maar ik krijg de indruk dat zij niet grote groepen op drukke tijdstippen kunnen ontvangen.

Came to the restaurant for a late lunch. Location is very cute, choice of food is very good - there are vegetarian options. Draft beer was nice and the burgers we ordered were tasty but very very filling. Service was not great but overall, quick and easygoing. I would recommend to stick to one plate for each person since portions are very big. Would come again also because the price was quite good.

Can no longer dine there cheaply

This restaurant was always very good in the past... but we found some of the meat dishes quite disappointing this time... also there were no fresh vegetables... only a portion of lettuce... unfortunately... that can happen sometimes... but it does. Too bad... if you go out to eat together for a birthday.

Without any fuss, which you have in many other restaurants. The only minor downside was my small plate, I don't find it convenient to cut, but that is the only thing and certainly does not detract from the entire experience of eating here! Had food delivered again and this time fantastic spare ribs and XL schnitzel so tender and delicious in taste. Delivery also exactly on time, normally everything is delivered, now I just forgot the warm vegetables, but this shouldn't spoil the fun, keep it up 👍👍👍

Wij famillie de Wit en Kamerman, komem hier al zo'n 16 jaar, blijft fantastisch.Eten is bourgondisch goed en meer als genoeg, kan altijd worden bijbesteld. Wij gaan altijd voor een avondje uit, blijven heel wat uurtjes. Klagers blijf je houden ieder zijn ding, maar als je niet reserveerd heb je bijna geen plek, dus zal best goed zijn toch. "het zoutmannetje"

Veel personeel heen en weer lopen langs de gasten dit komt mede dat de keuken in de kelder is dit ervaar als storend . Voor 2 personen was erg te weinig salade en gebakken aardappels. Tevens was het eten veel te zout. De kruidenboter was de was eveneens zout en geen roomboter. Het er erg warm in de ruimte en onze kleding had een etens lucht. Dit restaurant zal zich moeten verbeteren maar wij komen er niet meer

The service was rather long, we waited for the dishes around an hour. I chose “gebakken mosselen” and asked the waitress, what are the ingredients of the dish, the answer was: potatoes and a salad. I was very surprised to see bacon in the dish, as I was vegetarian and there was no mentioning of the bacon in the menu and by the waiter. In general the dishes are very oily and not to the restaurant level, very simple. It can not be said though about the price of the dish. The staff is welcoming and smiling, the whole atmosphere is nice.

Dopo un giro in bicicletta nel parco con i mulini pranziamo in questo ristorante ad Alblasserdam. Abbiamo pranzato nel dehor che si affaccia su una delle strade centrali della cittadina. Hamburger con carne speziata e salse di accompagnamento immangiabili. Dehor e tavoli un po' sporchi... Servizio cortese.
