Nice location, good and friendly staff

Nice menu. I opted for the 3-course menu. Plenty of choice. Service was good and the food was delicious.

We visited here with our baby. We received excellent service from the staff. Food for the baby was warmed up in the kitchen, and the changing area was very tidy. The food was good, and we were served quickly. However, it was very busy and therefore a bit noisy.

De Beren always has good, customer-oriented people and delicious food! Just do it!

We liked our time and the food was good. One improvement is to add allergens to the food on the menu. We told the waitress that my husband was allergic to peanuts but he still was given a dessert that had a biscuit with peanuts in it. It was very scary! Luckily our son noticed very soon and my husband stopped eating his dessert immediately and we rushed out of the restaurant as soon as we paid the bill to seek medical attention.

Tip: if you're going on a first date, definitely go to De Beren. Everyone likes something on the menu, it's tasty, fast, atmospheric, portions are 👍🏻, and the price is average. Plus, at De Beren you never have to wait hours for your order. Which means that if you're on a first date, dining out doesn't last longer than 1.5 hours. If you get tired of your date, that 1.5 hours is perfectly manageable. But if your date is amazing, you'll be out together in no time 😉

Today, our family had a delicious meal at De Beren in Ede. Good and friendly service despite the muggy weather. The T-bone and Tomahawk were especially tasty; we will definitely be back.

Nice setting and good food as always

Nice place, but the food is simple and lacked flavor! A shame for those prices.

I've usually eaten pretty well at De Beren, but yesterday I had the Berenburger for €18.50, and it was literally a bun with two thin patties, one lettuce leaf, one slice of bacon, and one slice of cheddar. I haven't had such a mediocre hamburger since I grabbed one from a vending machine at FEBO for €2.50. And charging €18.50 for that is really not okay. It's remarkable how they treat a dish bearing the restaurant's name.

It is a shame that smoking is allowed on the terrace. We were sitting between two couples. So, while we were eating, we were getting smoke coming from both sides; that made it less appetizing. A real pity.

The food was fine, but the service was really terrible. We mentioned this, but we didn't feel taken seriously. No excuses were made. We had to get the menus ourselves, as they were not provided. Drink orders were not taken. The wait was really long. All in all, not worth a repeat visit.

We dined today with 4 people. One of us had a birthday, which we also mentioned when making the reservation. But no special action whatsoever. We popped inside briefly to see if anything extra could be done. It is mentioned on the website... They said they would just check what was possible. Nothing more happened, not even a congratulation. Shame on you, De Beren Ede, a real shame!

I am used to something different from De Beren; I haven't been here before. The service was extremely poor, the food mediocre. I personally wanted to walk out, but my husband was hungry and didn't feel like looking for something else, so they were lucky.

Food simple, basic (spicy chicken pieces), perhaps fried a little too long. Service does not pay attention to the customer, turns away when you ask to order something or just walks past. Nice terrace though.

The food at the Bears is really tasty, and there is a playground for children; I think it's great that they thought of the kids too.😀

My best friend and I had high tea at your place. And it was delicious. We already enjoy dining at your place, but high tea has now been added to our list. Highly recommended. Just one minor point: don't serve everything at once. The apple crumble and the crème brûlée had gone cold. But still very tasty😋😋.

Reserved for 7 people with colleagues. The food was fine and the atmosphere was good too. We were asked in between courses if we wanted anything to drink, but in my opinion, not often enough. We sometimes had to ask if we could order something else, even though staff came by often enough. It wasn't too busy, so I don't think that was the reason.

Had another delicious hamburger. The crème brûlée was also fine: could use a little more sugar. A delicious Pina Colada and an Irish coffee to go with it.

We had a really good meal! The starter, main course, and dessert were truly delicious! The mocktails were also very good! And all that for an incredibly low price.

My girlfriend wasn't feeling very well and needed a quick drink. We stopped at the nearest restaurant, De Beren in Ede, for this. I ordered a drink and a sandwich out of politeness, but we were immediately told that this wasn't allowed. We have to order everything per person and are not permitted to share. I understand that when it's busy, it wouldn't be polite to occupy one table for just one drink and some food. But the entire terrace was empty. It was really weird. Now we've spent twice as much, even though we didn't want to at all. And to make matters worse, we got a plain croquette sandwich without mustard😭🙏 Anyway, clever trick by the company :(

After the Pathé across the street, we had a quick bite to eat here this evening. The restaurant is very nicely decorated inside and has plenty of comfortable seating! The food was served quickly and tasted delicious! The waitresses were also friendly! I found the matcha here tasted slightly less good; it seemed to be made with syrup rather than powder. One tip for the kitchen: next time, turn the hardstyle music down a bit, as not all guests are fans of it. 🙈

We had a super delicious meal here, and the staff is very friendly. The service is quick and they are very good at noticing when you are ready for the next course, drink, or dessert menu, which you don't experience at every restaurant these days. The food was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves. For the kids, there is a kids' menu on a placemat that they can color in or play games on later, which is a huge win-win for parents (like us) who have a child who doesn't always sit still. Price-quality 10/10!

We had a delicious High Tea. We were given plenty to eat and it was nice and fresh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant's decor is very homey and cozy. We would love to come back.

We had expected more. The last time I ate at De Beren in Haarlem, that was perfect; here it is really a lot worse!! The girl who took the order was friendly, but the girls walking around with the food clearly couldn't serve; they could barely hold a few plates, and our food was literally slammed onto the table instead of being placed neatly. The food was mediocre... Everything was also served within an hour, which we thought was very fast! Too bad, we had expected much more!!

Fantastic and fast service. We enjoyed a high tea and had fresh hot water in no time. The treats were delicious and in generous quantities. We couldn't finish everything but were given the leftovers to take home. The only minor downside was the choice of tea varieties. When having a high tea, it is nice to be able to choose from different types! Perhaps a suggestion for pots of fresh tea?

For years, we have been visiting De Beren in Ede with more than full satisfaction, and we are even recognized by some of the staff members, so how familiar can something feel? Everything is always just as tasty and everyone is always just as friendly! Just like last night, before our visit to Pathé across the street. The De Beren/Pathé combo has become completely ingrained in my girlfriend and me. Truly worthy of a huge compliment on all fronts!!

We came out of the cinema and went to eat at De Beren, walking in with a smile on our faces. The starter arrived... no cutlery, so we chased after the cutlery. The main course arrived... no fried chili pepper with it. I mentioned... they're on their way!! They arrived when the plate was already empty!! The smile had long since vanished from my face. I didn't wait for dessert; I was pretty much done with it. I gave my opinion on the whole thing, and she said, "I've been given it and she's giving me the bill." No more De Beren for me.

I ate at this restaurant tonight; there were arrogant girls who couldn't even act decent, were gossiping, waited ten minutes for drinks, and had no idea that it wasn't allowed. I have never had such a bad meal at such a lousy restaurant with little girls who can't work. And that for 70 euros: lousy food and service, worst experience ever, be warned.

The restaurant has a nice interior, but the tomato soup tasted like it came straight from a can. The food is quite classic and nothing special, and the service is also slow. I would rather eat somewhere else next time.

Always friendly service and delicious food!

We came in with drinks from elsewhere and wanted to order something else, but were not allowed to sit down because we already had drinks with us. Fine if that is the rule, but the way this was said was very unfriendly. The waiter was arrogant and condescending, and even started explaining to us ‘how things work in the Netherlands’—unnecessary and inappropriate, especially after living here for more than 10 years. We did not feel welcome at all. Hopefully, management will do something about this.

De Beren is actually always a place where you can eat well. A familiar menu, and good service. However, I suspect that a different chef or manager has unfortunately arrived in Ede. The familiar tomato soup was sharp and tasted different without the cream, the fries lukewarm and soggy, the satay with a dollop of vegetables on the side; the plate was almost empty because the portions were so small. No wet towel left to clean your face and hands, and no mint at the counter upon departure. The service is really super friendly, as we are used to; that is not the issue. But unfortunately, this was a disappointment for us.
