Had a delicious meal with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Very enjoyable tonight, and the service was very good with friendly staff.

We go there regularly and the service is always super friendly and the food fantastic.

Delicious food, plenty of options to order extras. Unfortunately, after the food was served, we were not asked if we wanted anything to drink or if we would like dessert. It seemed as if they had forgotten about us. The restaurant looks beautiful and is a pleasant place to eat. It is a pity that the door is open, as quite a lot of flies come in.

As we have come to expect at De Beren in Ede, it was well taken care of and very tasty again.

My girlfriend wasn't feeling very well and needed a quick drink. We stopped at the nearest restaurant, De Beren in Ede, for this. I ordered a drink and a sandwich out of politeness, but we were immediately told that this wasn't allowed. We have to order everything per person and are not permitted to share. I understand that when it's busy, it wouldn't be polite to occupy one table for just one drink and some food. But the entire terrace was empty. It was really weird. Now we've spent twice as much, even though we didn't want to at all. And to make matters worse, we got a plain croquette sandwich without mustard😭🙏 Anyway, clever trick by the company :(

After the Pathé across the street, we had a quick bite to eat here this evening. The restaurant is very nicely decorated inside and has plenty of comfortable seating! The food was served quickly and tasted delicious! The waitresses were also friendly! I found the matcha here tasted slightly less good; it seemed to be made with syrup rather than powder. One tip for the kitchen: next time, turn the hardstyle music down a bit, as not all guests are fans of it. 🙈

We had a really good meal! The starter, main course, and dessert were truly delicious! The mocktails were also very good! And all that for an incredibly low price.

The service was actually too fast. The bread rolls beforehand hadn't even been finished when the starter was already served. We had a fine meal, but a little more space between the different courses would be nice.

We had a super delicious meal here, and the staff is very friendly. The service is quick and they are very good at noticing when you are ready for the next course, drink, or dessert menu, which you don't experience at every restaurant these days. The food was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves. For the kids, there is a kids' menu on a placemat that they can color in or play games on later, which is a huge win-win for parents (like us) who have a child who doesn't always sit still. Price-quality 10/10!

We had a delicious High Tea. We were given plenty to eat and it was nice and fresh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant's decor is very homey and cozy. We would love to come back.

Had lunch here with a colleague and friend. We wanted a different type of bread with our dish and that was no problem. The food was tasty, the atmosphere cozy, and the service was attentive without being intrusive.

Had high tea with 6 friends at De Beren in Ede. Plenty to eat, varied and tasty. Almost everything was finished. In between courses, we could have been asked if we wanted something (else) to drink, but this didn't happen. After the high tea, we had a drink on the outdoor terrace.

Apart from the service not running entirely smoothly, we still enjoyed the delicious food and drinks outside on the terrace.

The food was good, except for the lukewarm fries; the ribeye was very tender and flavorful. The most striking thing was that at the moment of serving, no one asked if we wanted anything to drink. There was no inquiry about this during the meal either; it could be because it was busy, but I did not get that impression.

We had expected more. The last time I ate at De Beren in Haarlem, that was perfect; here it is really a lot worse!! The girl who took the order was friendly, but the girls walking around with the food clearly couldn't serve; they could barely hold a few plates, and our food was literally slammed onto the table instead of being placed neatly. The food was mediocre... Everything was also served within an hour, which we thought was very fast! Too bad, we had expected much more!!

Fantastic and fast service. We enjoyed a high tea and had fresh hot water in no time. The treats were delicious and in generous quantities. We couldn't finish everything but were given the leftovers to take home. The only minor downside was the choice of tea varieties. When having a high tea, it is nice to be able to choose from different types! Perhaps a suggestion for pots of fresh tea?

For years, we have been visiting De Beren in Ede with more than full satisfaction, and we are even recognized by some of the staff members, so how familiar can something feel? Everything is always just as tasty and everyone is always just as friendly! Just like last night, before our visit to Pathé across the street. The De Beren/Pathé combo has become completely ingrained in my girlfriend and me. Truly worthy of a huge compliment on all fronts!!

We came out of the cinema and went to eat at De Beren, walking in with a smile on our faces. The starter arrived... no cutlery, so we chased after the cutlery. The main course arrived... no fried chili pepper with it. I mentioned... they're on their way!! They arrived when the plate was already empty!! The smile had long since vanished from my face. I didn't wait for dessert; I was pretty much done with it. I gave my opinion on the whole thing, and she said, "I've been given it and she's giving me the bill." No more De Beren for me.

I ate at this restaurant tonight; there were arrogant girls who couldn't even act decent, were gossiping, waited ten minutes for drinks, and had no idea that it wasn't allowed. I have never had such a bad meal at such a lousy restaurant with little girls who can't work. And that for 70 euros: lousy food and service, worst experience ever, be warned.

I was with my 4-year-old daughter. We had the two-course dinner via Social Deal. The only thing we missed was a play area.

The restaurant has a nice interior, but the tomato soup tasted like it came straight from a can. The food is quite classic and nothing special, and the service is also slow. I would rather eat somewhere else next time.

We came in with drinks from elsewhere and wanted to order something else, but were not allowed to sit down because we already had drinks with us. Fine if that is the rule, but the way this was said was very unfriendly. The waiter was arrogant and condescending, and even started explaining to us ‘how things work in the Netherlands’—unnecessary and inappropriate, especially after living here for more than 10 years. We did not feel welcome at all. Hopefully, management will do something about this.

De Beren is actually always a place where you can eat well. A familiar menu, and good service. However, I suspect that a different chef or manager has unfortunately arrived in Ede. The familiar tomato soup was sharp and tasted different without the cream, the fries lukewarm and soggy, the satay with a dollop of vegetables on the side; the plate was almost empty because the portions were so small. No wet towel left to clean your face and hands, and no mint at the counter upon departure. The service is really super friendly, as we are used to; that is not the issue. But unfortunately, this was a disappointment for us.

Really only visit if going to Pathé, and even then consider going somewhere else instead despite the inconvenience

We waited almost 40min. They could not understand the orders in english properly. I was served wrong and they insisted in me taking a 500g (!) meat plus two vegetable portions (each 15 euros). 100 euros for these simply boiled vegetables (no efforts in cooking them soecially) and meat is much too expensive and a truly ignorant waste of food just for the money. It also did not come with the rest of the ordered meals of the others. Two Schnitzel were ordered - soaggie at start. Vegan chicken was soaked in sauce. Dessert was brought to the table but the plates of the main dish were not taken away. Very bad service and overall experience for that pricing.

Eating at the bears with the kids is always fun. But unfortunately, in Ede, there are no gluten-free fries/sweet potato fries or dessert for people with allergies. And unfortunately, there is no play area at these bears.

You expect to step into a concept, but De Beren in Ede is better than you expect. Good service, good food, and despite the crowds, there is a sense of calm in the place; the staff has everything under control and are very helpful and friendly. I don't know what it's like at the other De Beren locations, but here in Ede, it is a top-notch place.

The unlimited selection wasn't good; you sit waiting half an hour for 1 skewer. And ignoring you when you want to order again isn't really very nice!! Could we come by again at your expense once your staff understands their work? Kind regards??

I'm just copying the text from my sister-in-law: I was there last Friday too. And I was standing next to my stepfather. The way he was addressed by the hostess was very rude. Even the young man standing behind her who escorted us to our (wrong) table apologized for his colleague's blunt reaction (that was because it was busy). This should never be an excuse!!! After all, he came by twice to arrange it! And now there was nothing in the computer. This lady said: "I don't care about that. The table where you want to sit is occupied. And there is nothing in the computer. So you can sit behind that one and there is nothing else..." We understand that those other people couldn't be turned away. But it was certainly a disappointment! Very unfortunate, he only turns 80 once 😞 Last Friday, we went out to eat with the family at De Beren at the invitation of my parents-in-law for my father-in-law's 80th birthday. My father-in-law pointed out that this was not the agreement, but he was told that it was not recorded anywhere in the system, and that was the end of the matter. Again, he stopped by twice, precisely to make sure everything was in order! And then to dismiss it so easily with "yes sorry, it is not recorded anywhere." My father-in-law spent over 600 euros on the dinner, so as far as I am concerned, this could have been handled differently. That is the reason why I can only give 2 stars for the service.

Tasty food at a good price, cozy atmosphere, friendly service

Took advantage of the social deal lunch offer. Tomato soup without any meatballs, which was supposedly accidental, and a lunch dish of your choice. Good portion and presentation, excellent food.

If you haven't eaten for weeks and have nowhere else to go, you should eat here if you absolutely have to. As long as you don't expect anything and you're in good health, the risk is limited. Safe travels!

The food was really awful. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I was asked if I wanted a slice of bacon with my burger. Well, that's always good, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, that paltry slice was €1.50 on the bill. The Dame Blanche wasn't worth €10 either. Cheap vanilla ice cream with Tova chocolate sauce. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was... well...

We were there on Christmas Eve, but what a terrible Christmas Eve it was. They were really unfriendly and didn't even ask if we wanted another drink or if we still had enough fries. The little ones had about 10 fries on their plates after they even walked past the service and were chatting at the counter, and they were given more. The lady who brought us dessert and also took the bill was super friendly, and apparently the other waitress had complained about us, so she apologized, saying our evening hadn't gone as planned, which she found annoying. Now I understand why it wasn't full; one section was empty. I'm from the hospitality industry and have never done this to guests before. Sorry, it costs a lot of money, but you can sit down and enjoy yourself.

The pork tenderloin was burnt and black, but it took another twenty minutes for someone to come to our table. We received far too few fries, but only after we'd finished everything did someone come to us. And this after I'd already sent back the starter. The carpaccio had no toppings at all and landed empty on my table. They did say how annoying it all was, but on a bill of 164 euros, we paid 8 euros less because I refused to pay for the pork tenderloin. It was a truly disastrous dinner. I've been there before, and there were problems then too. So I'll never go back because I found this dinner out absolutely awful. Especially because they say how annoying it is, but then they charge me for everything on the bill.

We had a delicious meal at De Beren in Ede yesterday. There's a cozy atmosphere, and despite it being busy, you're not bothered by too much noise. The food is delicious and ready quite quickly. Highly recommended!

I thought the restaurant was well-designed and spacious. We were there in the evening, and it was very dark at the tables; it was too dark to read the menu. The staff could be a bit more attentive to the customers. It sometimes took a while to order drinks. The food was simply delicious.

Cold coffee was good, Burger and fries were below average They charge too much like around 8 euros for water, no option for tap water! Food is okay! update: nov 2025 they have some weird rules for ordering conditions! and the staffs are rude (order taking), serving staffs were friendly been here for dinner and never again!

Nice, friendly place. Clean and friendly staff. They're willing to help and very accommodating. The lighting in the shop is a bit dim, but that's just my personal preference. I like to see what's on my plate :-)

A spontaneous visit to De Beren in Ede. I was recommended to buy a voucher. Great service and good food to start the weekend after a busy work week. And with the voucher, it was a great price. Definitely worth a return visit.

We had a quick bite here because we had to work late. The staff were friendly, but I personally thought there were a bit too many bell peppers and not enough steak. I don't think it's a restaurant for an evening out with a group or family.

What terrible service! I booked a voucher through Social Deal; you could only get in if I paid full price. My mother had just turned 70, and they made us drive all the way to Veenendaal. There was no room, no understanding. Social Deal contacted the bears about this, and they even lied to us that it was full on Saturday night. No more bears like this for us!

We went here for dinner with work, 18 people. We had a reservation from 4:30 to 7:00, and four courses were served within an hour and fifteen minutes. The soup and truffle croquettes were lukewarm. The portions, like the Spice Crispy Chicken, were disproportionate. Drinks were past their sell-by date. The food was cleared while others were still eating, without even asking. We were asked to leave tables early because new customers were arriving, even though our time wasn't up yet. All in all, a very poor experience. If you can't handle groups, don't offer it.

The food was delicious. However, the service wasn't always friendly. Something went wrong three times. I received a sigh and a sullen look from one of the waitstaff.

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was served raw and cold, and desserts were forgotten. We had to ask for them at some point. There was no communication on the work floor. The tables and floor were sticky upon arrival.

We occasionally visit this restaurant chain. It's always good, and that's certainly true here in Ede. It's clearly housed in a modern building, but they've managed to create a pleasant atmosphere with their choice of furnishings and decor. There's also a large and inviting terrace outside. For lunch, we opted for a farmer's omelet and the pinsa tuna. The portions were generous, and the omelet, in particular, was perfectly filled. We'll definitely be back to De Beren, here or elsewhere :-)
