If you haven't eaten for weeks and have nowhere else to go, you should eat here if you absolutely have to. As long as you don't expect anything and you're in good health, the risk is limited. Safe travels!

The food was really awful. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I was asked if I wanted a slice of bacon with my burger. Well, that's always good, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, that paltry slice was €1.50 on the bill. The Dame Blanche wasn't worth €10 either. Cheap vanilla ice cream with Tova chocolate sauce. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was... well...

We were there on Christmas Eve, but what a terrible Christmas Eve it was. They were really unfriendly and didn't even ask if we wanted another drink or if we still had enough fries. The little ones had about 10 fries on their plates after they even walked past the service and were chatting at the counter, and they were given more. The lady who brought us dessert and also took the bill was super friendly, and apparently the other waitress had complained about us, so she apologized, saying our evening hadn't gone as planned, which she found annoying. Now I understand why it wasn't full; one section was empty. I'm from the hospitality industry and have never done this to guests before. Sorry, it costs a lot of money, but you can sit down and enjoy yourself.

Very atmospheric! In addition, the meat is always super good and the service very friendly.

The pork tenderloin was burnt and black, but it took another twenty minutes for someone to come to our table. We received far too few fries, but only after we'd finished everything did someone come to us. And this after I'd already sent back the starter. The carpaccio had no toppings at all and landed empty on my table. They did say how annoying it all was, but on a bill of 164 euros, we paid 8 euros less because I refused to pay for the pork tenderloin. It was a truly disastrous dinner. I've been there before, and there were problems then too. So I'll never go back because I found this dinner out absolutely awful. Especially because they say how annoying it is, but then they charge me for everything on the bill.

We had a delicious meal at De Beren in Ede yesterday. There's a cozy atmosphere, and despite it being busy, you're not bothered by too much noise. The food is delicious and ready quite quickly. Highly recommended!

I thought the restaurant was well-designed and spacious. We were there in the evening, and it was very dark at the tables; it was too dark to read the menu. The staff could be a bit more attentive to the customers. It sometimes took a while to order drinks. The food was simply delicious.

Food is okay! update: nov 2025 they have some weird rules for ordering conditions! and the staffs are rude (order taking), serving staffs were friendly been here for dinner and never again!

Nice, friendly place. Clean and friendly staff. They're willing to help and very accommodating. The lighting in the shop is a bit dim, but that's just my personal preference. I like to see what's on my plate :-)

A spontaneous visit to De Beren in Ede. I was recommended to buy a voucher. Great service and good food to start the weekend after a busy work week. And with the voucher, it was a great price. Definitely worth a return visit.

We had a quick bite here because we had to work late. The staff were friendly, but I personally thought there were a bit too many bell peppers and not enough steak. I don't think it's a restaurant for an evening out with a group or family.

What terrible service! I booked a voucher through Social Deal; you could only get in if I paid full price. My mother had just turned 70, and they made us drive all the way to Veenendaal. There was no room, no understanding. Social Deal contacted the bears about this, and they even lied to us that it was full on Saturday night. No more bears like this for us!

We had a delicious meal at these Beren. The staff were friendly and the food was good.

We went here for dinner with work, 18 people. We had a reservation from 4:30 to 7:00, and four courses were served within an hour and fifteen minutes. The soup and truffle croquettes were lukewarm. The portions, like the Spice Crispy Chicken, were disproportionate. Drinks were past their sell-by date. The food was cleared while others were still eating, without even asking. We were asked to leave tables early because new customers were arriving, even though our time wasn't up yet. All in all, a very poor experience. If you can't handle groups, don't offer it.

The food was delicious. However, the service wasn't always friendly. Something went wrong three times. I received a sigh and a sullen look from one of the waitstaff.

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was served raw and cold, and desserts were forgotten. We had to ask for them at some point. There was no communication on the work floor. The tables and floor were sticky upon arrival.

We occasionally visit this restaurant chain. It's always good, and that's certainly true here in Ede. It's clearly housed in a modern building, but they've managed to create a pleasant atmosphere with their choice of furnishings and decor. There's also a large and inviting terrace outside. For lunch, we opted for a farmer's omelet and the pinsa tuna. The portions were generous, and the omelet, in particular, was perfectly filled. We'll definitely be back to De Beren, here or elsewhere :-)

Had lunch here through Social Deal. We often do this at Beren restaurants. This restaurant makes their dishes different. A chicken sandwich was cooked so hot it was inedible. Very disappointed, never again.

We had a reservation and received a friendly welcome upon arrival. Our special requests, both regarding table selection and the food, were accommodated and fulfilled. Since we visited the restaurant on a Monday evening, it wasn't particularly busy, and we received our ordered food quickly. We were able to order more drinks regularly. All in all, a fantastic restaurant; thank you for your hospitality.

De Beren Ede // A shoddy snack bar disguised as a restaurant, where you feel completely unwelcome. Ignored upon arrival: the hostess was busy talking to a supplier and first finished her phone call. Then we were curtly directed to a table a comfortable walk away – no discussion possible, because "the terrace is open." In a nearly empty restaurant with four waiters, it seemed asking too much. The food arrived slowly, was tasteless, and overpriced. Tap water next to the apple juice for the children? "We don't do that." Everything about it says: guests are a burden.

Good food, good portions, fast service. Only, and I'm a whiner, there is a main course on the menu spelled "diamandhaas". Properly spelled, that is really with a t and not with a d. I don't think that's right anyway and certainly not at a large chain. But that's my opinion 😀

Nice restaurant with nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and good price/quality ratio. Bar is sometimes very slow and the normal fries are often old and lukewarm. Better order the sweet potato fries.

My 11-year-old son has ARFID (fussy eater) and is not a big eater, so I have never been able to sit at a real restaurant with him. After looking around a bit, I ended up at De Beren. Children's menu, not expensive at all, and enough for my son. Perfect! Together with one of my brothers yesterday, by the way, it was the first time at De Beren and the first time for my son to eat at a real restaurant! Every now and then something was forgotten, but that doesn't matter. It was warm, busy enough, and human. When we said it, they also brought it neatly shortly afterwards :) The portions are also quite big! My brother and I certainly couldn't finish everything haha. But it was suuuuuper delicious!! Very friendly staff, were immediately helped to a table and helped sufficiently. Nothing to complain about, food was just fine. Taste was good of the spare ribs, they just did not fall completely perfect from the bone. But price quality ratio was fine.

We ate here with 4 people on Ascension Day. It was pleasantly busy, the service was very quick and attentive, we didn't have to wait long for our order. The food was delicious, a recommendation is the Quattro Meat burger, 4 types of meat on a tasty bun. By the way, the other dishes were also very tasty. The portions are large enough. This restaurant is really recommended, we certainly hope to come back again.

Easy to reach and you can park there well especially if you want to go to the cinema afterwards, it is opposite. Decor is nice and new. Food was mediocre and came very quickly (too quickly) you got the feeling that you had to leave quickly, starter carpaccio in itself tasty but the plate really stank very badly which was a disadvantage to the dish. The main course a burger was fine. Service? There was none, no how does it taste, everything according to wish, apologies I get another drink and there was not even a smile. Too bad I will not come back here soon.

We had used a lunch voucher via social deal. You get an adjusted menu which is less than what you normally get. Half a glass of soup and no fries with the dish. We certainly won't do that again.

Delicious food for an affordable price, friendly service

Got cold food served, when I say it at the payment counter, and send an email with this complaint, they say that I should have said it immediately. Bill was 124 euros. Not recommended in this way. Was a regular customer there in the past. Edit: they refunded part of the bill. In that respect, nice of them.

Been a fan of the Bears for a year now. Especially in Veenendaal... but in Ede... what a stiff attitude, almost comparable to a robot. As if you have to talk but don't really want to talk... also the only restaurant that makes a fuss about the menu. There were also many employees walking around. Most of those lingered at the bar…

I had been going to De Beren for years - with my family to eat, with people for business meetings, or just to have a coffee and do a little work. Today they apparently changed his "rules about tables". Instead of my normal friendly welcome and grabbing a free table (very reasonable), I was forced to "go to the lounge because you only want drinks". There were definitely free tables everywhere, but okay. I went to where the gentleman had indicated and turned on my laptop. Not two minutes later, another clerk came to tell me that this table was also not good, because it was "not in sight of my colleague". (It was a table 5-6m from the bar). I became frustrated, but the rules are the rules, and she wanted to see me leave rather than be customer friendly or respectful. I found it completely disappointing as I am a long time customer there. I don't know if it's a "table policy" from above or just how they treat their customers now, but I'd rather go to the Bakker Bart now (I don't have super high expectations, really).

I had a cocktail, 3/4 ice, the rest lemonade, alcohol not tasted and the blueberries that should be in it were gone and that for €10. So never again.

Lunch via Social deal, done before in other branches and always great. Here in Ede it's not so good, the soup that was supposed to be with meatballs was served without meatballs. Club sandwich with 2 slices of bread, never seen before, it is always indicated with 3. This is indicated and asked for extra sandwich, then someone very smart comes with a photo of what it looks like and with pain and effort an extra sandwich can be removed because my girlfriend wanted a dish without bread. And then also discover blue spots on the egg. We will never come here again

Chairs in Ede are worthless to sit on for any length of time. Backrest too far back, so on the edge of your chair with your elbows on the table. That's not relaxing. The pressure during eating could also be more

Bad service and dramatic staff What a disappointment. The service was subpar and the employee who helped us was downright rude. Asked to leave the terrace for no reason — no explanation, no respect. That's not how you treat customers. Dramatic attitude, not an ounce of hospitality. Definitely not recommended.

My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of shocking. The service was rude and totally disrespectful. There was no one available to communicate with normally; it seemed like everyone just ignored you. Guests were suddenly turned away without explanation or reason, which is absolutely unacceptable. This is no way to treat customers. I strongly advise against this restaurant and will never come back here.

Definitely not recommended. I am a regular customer at De Beren and come there almost twice a week with friends. Unfortunately we had an unpleasant experience today. One of my friends had ordered food outside, which was not allowed. We immediately apologized and cleared the food away. However, we were then asked to leave because our way of talking was considered disturbing. We found this very disappointing, especially since we acknowledged our mistake and did not cause any further inconvenience. I found this a very unpleasant experience and will therefore not return again.

My sister and her friends were on their terrace today, one of them brought food from another restaurant, they were asked to clean up the food because that is not allowed I understand the logic, I have worked in the catering industry for 8 years and I am a chef and I have never experienced a story like this. But that food was taken away and my sister apologized to the waiter. We were turned away from this restaurant in an unfriendly manner. There were four of us and we all ordered something: each of us had two drinks and fries. Unfortunately, one friend couldn't order anything because of her severe food allergies – she can hardly eat anything. Because we were sitting on the terrace, she had brought something small so we could eat something. When the employee saw this, they immediately asked if she wanted to throw away her food. We apologized politely and cleared the food away immediately. However, five minutes later another colleague came up to us with an angry attitude. She said that her colleague felt uncomfortable about the way we allegedly addressed her. While we only said sorry and behaved properly. Still, we had to pay immediately and leave the terrace. We found this very unprofessional. The staff was unfriendly, wore dirty blouses and the restaurant seemed very unhygienic. In any case, we will never come back here again.

Was here with my grandfather, grandmother and granddaughter. We were here through the social deal. We all had a 3 course dinner. The gyoza starter was delicious. The carpaccio was very special. Wasn't very tasty. The main course was also inedible. The meat tasted chemical or fake. (Spare ribs and satay) Had to force myself to swallow it. Desert was fine. The staff was friendly. Of course they didn't compensate or offer anything else. I wouldn't come back here.

Delicious food! Nice relaxed atmosphere. The dishes are prepared with care and are generous. Surprising goat cheese croquettes, tasty garlic shrimp. Spicy chrispy chicken. Spare ribs with lots of meat and delicious apple crumble dessert. Waitress friendly, clear and very helpful. In short, our first experience is absolutely GREAT Highly recommended and worth repeating

Slechte bediening. Uitsmijter ham kaas besteld en zonder kaas gekregen. Dit gemeld bij de bediening, amper reactie. Bij betaling toch op de bon vermeld en daarna veel moeite moeten doen om de kaas van de bon af te krijgen. Wij gaan er niet meer eten en raden iedereen af hier naar toe te gaan.

The meal was fine, although there were a few steak tips for the money, I counted 8 steak tips. We ate there again yesterday, the lady who helped us had great food, but it was lukewarm, unfortunately not really hot.

We had reserved a 4-course dinner through Social Deal, which was a nice experience. The food was fine, but not very exciting. Many of the same sauces and garnishes were used (the spicy options were topped with the same peppers as standard, such as the gyozas, fried chicken and chili cheese bites). The highlight was dessert: an apple crumble with ice cream. The atmosphere is also good: industrial and cozy.

It is a large restaurant, but it is decorated in such a way that it still feels cozy. I had lunch there with a friend. The service was cheerful, pleasant, professional and prompt, and the salads were tasty and certainly not too little. So we skipped the fries and ice cream that were recommended to us :-)

Ambience: A very atmospheric and warm layout with beautiful and comfortable seats. The only disadvantage is that you often have the headlights of the cars shining in as soon as they drive up the slope near the restaurant. A Venetian blind would do wonders here. Staff: Very friendly staff. All with a smile and also up for a joke or to take a picture of your table. Food: Quality very good and tasty food. Lots of choice and the quality is just very good.

We no longer go there for dinner because, among other things, it is not feasible for small children and the service takes a very long time. Besides, there is nothing for them to do except color. They used to have a mini arcade a la Monkeytown, but unfortunately that is no longer there. Lunch, on the other hand, is still doable. If it's not very busy. Food for lunch was fine and she listened carefully to our wishes. But since as a family restaurant it doesn't offer anything for small children, we hardly ever go there anymore.

What a bad restaurant. Lukewarm food, not tasty, small portions, incompetent service, long wait. And don't eat here if you have a gluten intolerance. The information on the allergen card is incorrect, because you simply get fried fish on your plate, which they also charge you for if you send it back with the explanation that it makes you sick. Furthermore, 8.50 for a portion of fries in addition to your main course. And you have to look for a straw in your cocktail yourself after asking twice. Paying more than 90 euros for a meal salad, a risotto, a bowl of fries, a cup of coffee and 2 cocktails is anti-social. And if you say something about it at the checkout, they say that there is only 1 option to pay and then you have to send an email with a complaint. We don't come here anymore.
