Long story in one paragraph: We sat at lunch to get a 1+1 for free lunch-menu deal. Waited 15 min for beer. Ordered an omelette, got an omelette with a thick black hair in it. Returned it, got a second omelette with another black hair in it (literally showing in the first bite). Argued with the waitress and manager that we are only paying for the drinks, while they insisted to also pay for the other meal which would effectively be a full price for what turned out to be a disgusting lunch experience. Management has no understanding how to provide even basic customer/eating experience. The young girl that was waitressing was also clueless and seemed equally annoyed and confused about "having to deal with" unhappy customers. Never going back to any De Beren locations because it seems there's no oversight on the quality of the food & overall service.

We had a lovely meal on the terrace in the center of Oud-Beijerland, by the harbor. I ordered satay with sweet potatoes, which was delicious, but my table companion initially received the wrong kind of fries. The terrace is large, with stained cushions.

Last Sunday (May 25, 2025) we had a delicious lunch together via Social Deal and we will definitely do that again. Enough choice, large portions and tasty food. Service was extremely friendly and accurate. Also thinking along and solving an administrative problem. This Beren is in a great location and is very nicely decorated. In terms of atmosphere, we could not really judge that as it was very quiet that afternoon.

We went out for dinner with 4 people on a Sunday evening for Mother's Day. We were able to make a reservation the day before. That same day we called to change the reservation to another time, they were not difficult about that and we were still able to enjoy a delicious three-course dinner. There was one person who had to eat gluten-free, that was no problem. There was a QR code on the card, that was the allergen card and that person could enjoy it without any worries.

De Beren has deteriorated enormously in terms of food quality. The price/quality ratio is truly scandalous. It was once good, but because of all the changes (expansions) it is very bad food. The spare ribs are warmed up in the plastic and the other dishes are also quality airplane food. Very unfortunate!

2nd lunch for free, that doesn't work. In my opinion, if you have a sandwich with ham and cheese for lunch, for which you pay 2 x 1.50 extra, this is also part of lunch. We had 2 x eggs with ham and cheese and 2 cokes. Ham and cheese sandwich €13 + 2 cokes for 6 euros, I think it is 19 euros instead of 22 euros. The ham and cheese with the 2nd lunch still falls under lunch and if the 2nd lunch is free, you don't have to pay that extra or am I crazy. The bouncer was actually also disappointing. Don't think we'll go to the bears in Oud-Beijerland again.

The food was delicious, nothing wrong with it. One downside, we got a table for 4 people on the 1st floor. That table was in the dark, there were lamps above it, but they were not turned towards the table. We were given another table with more light, but these lamps were turned towards the table. The only bad thing about it was that me and my husband were eating in our own shade. Report this to the person in charge and they would do something with it. Let's face it, an evening of dining out has to be perfect and that means not sitting and eating in your own shade, that's not cool! Far too young staff, with too little experience. Often coming to the table with drinks while it was for another table. Another point, if you have to pay, it would be nice to bring the receipt on a platter. And then come back after a few minutes to ask how they want to pay. Do not immediately come to the table with the card machine in your hands and then say the amount out loud. The others had nothing to do with that, but they probably knew what we had to pay. That is the experience that the young staff still lacks. We will definitely come back.

Ate here on a Tuesday evening, cozy atmosphere, very friendly staff (respect for going up and down the stairs all evening), the food tasted delicious and it was quite busy so we had to wait a while between the starter and main course, but no problem because we had a pleasant evening. What a sad restaurant this has become. Everything (ordering, waiting for your drinks, your food and the bill) takes a long time and if you say anything you get a big mouth. Those young girls really do their best, but that older blonde lady is really nasty. I'm done with the Beren Oud Beijerland for a while. Now suppose it is too busy for the staff present in the shop or kitchen. Then close the top floor and focus on the customers.

What bad food. Spare ribs were very greasy and had no taste. Seemed like the meat was cooked. With the hamburger you had to look for the sauce and 1 piece of lettuce and no pickle. The steak was undercooked and very bland. I'll never go here again. While the Beren in Scheveningen is fantastic

An evening out for dinner together We arrived at the restaurant and asked if there was still a spot for us. We were directed to a table in front of the door or the high tables at the back. There are quite a few drafts and walk-ins in front of the door, so we opted for the high tables at the back. From the moment we sat down, no one really noticed us anymore. There was another couple next to us, they appeared to have been sitting there for 20 minutes without anyone coming to them. After waiting a long time and no staff at our table, we went to the bar to order drinks for ourselves and the table next to us. After a while the drinks were brought and we received the menus. After this we had to wait a long time until they finally came to take the order. The table next to us had their turn first, the starter they chose turned out to be impossible to find in the machine and it was wise (said the waiter) to choose something else. In the meantime, another colleague had arrived to take our order. We wanted the 3 course menu. Our order was initially made into a different dish (pork tenderloin or pork tenderloin satay are really 2 different things). Anyway, finally ordered. The starter took forever again. The main course was brought and was not complete. Our neighbors were also not complete, with the result that their successors were offered to us every time. The main course was not fantastic either, very dry and with a strange kind of marinade on everything. So not very tasty. The dessert also took forever. All in all we were there for about 2.5 hours. For a simple meal, on a Tuesday, in a not busy restaurant, with little to no service. We were done with it and went to pay. Of course the bill was also incorrect (it contained things that we had not had at all). And when we reported this, we received a partial refund, but that also turned out to be difficult and we did not initially receive the correct amount back. In short: no more Bears for us.

Unfortunately we all suffered food poisoning. So sad to see your 3 year old little one throwing up like that, my husband has thrown up 15 times. The spareribs were burnt, but we didn't want to make a fuss about it and ate around it. The chicken breast seemed a bit pink on the inside and had been reheated, the burger had a hard crust. All things that make you think: “well, benefit of the doubt.” Well, whole family sick. We are both self-employed, so not working for a day has a big financial impact. Called the restaurant afterwards, was greeted kindly and said that they found it annoying for us, but no money back or compensation was offered. We will never order from here again.

Had dinner last night at the Beren in Oud Beijerland. Made a reservation for 6 people the night before. When we arrived last night, we were told that the terrace was already full and that we could only sit at the front of the building. Strange because we had just made a reservation. When we walked to those tables, 1 table was covered in dried bird droppings. A chair was also full of bird droppings. We had to move two tables ourselves so that we had a clean table and chairs. Told the waitress there was bird poop on the table and chair. She said that had just happened, because she had just eaten it and it was not there yet. The bird droppings were already completely caked and dried and that was not from the last hour. It then took quite a while for our order to be taken and even longer before we received our food. We were already afraid of that because you are not in sight of the waiting staff. When we received our main course, a sauce had been forgotten for the salmon and 3 fillet knives for the sole fillet. The boy would go get them right away. However, we never received this. We mentioned this when we ordered dessert. It wasn't possible earlier because no one came to our table anymore. The boy apologized and said that he had indeed forgotten. He also said that our table is often forgotten because the table is not in the path of the staff. We had already noticed that. Everything went wrong again with dessert. We did not receive 1 coffee and we did not receive 1 dessert (summer burger). At one point we asked for the bill, because we had been there for over 3 hours and we had to leave. Unfortunately the sauce was... the coffee and dessert were mentioned on the bill even though we never received them. The table we were sitting at (at the front) should simply not be given to guests. It is very unpleasant and you are simply not seen by the staff, which means you have to wait a very long time for your order. The food was tasty, but unfortunately the service left much to be desired.

Enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a social deal. Well arranged, arrived and it was known that it had been paid. Now a four course menu. It's just a shame that the kitchen doesn't quite get it; mean sending a dish that has not yet been called by the service. The result was that we were sitting on the table with two dishes at the same time and the waiter asked whether the first dish (plate half empty) should be taken away. So confusion at the service (not their fault). Once again, service does their best. Furthermore, we sat and ate. Free parking nearby, also a plus. Our opinion was that this Beer is nicer than another branch in our area. Less busy and the service is still looking forward to it.

Service and atmosphere were lacking. When we arrived we were told to take a table near the couch, no one walked us to our table. Had to wait 15 minutes before we were asked if we wanted something to drink, then it took another 10 to 15 minutes before our drink arrived (a bit of context, not even half of the tables were occupied, the top floor was even empty and it said only 4 staff around the bar). Our drink was filled with water at least 1.5 cm because the ice cubes had already melted before it was delivered, I didn't think it was that tasty with soft drinks. The starter came before our cutlery, so we asked for it. I had the gyozas. These were tasty in themselves, crispy with an oriental, sweet sauce. The half raw onion in thick rings could have been less/thinner. The girl at the counter collected the plates, her entire non-verbal communication showed that she did not feel like working. We asked if we wanted to remove our cutlery from the plates, so that we could immediately use it for the main course. When I indicated that I wanted clean cutlery for the next dish, I sighed and said that she would provide new ones. Her artificial nails were so long that she could not hold the plate properly and sat on the plate with her nails in the sauce, then gave the clean cutlery to us. Not really hygienic. We waited more than 45 minutes for our main course: my daughter requested nachos without guacamole. Once it arrived, it still had guacamole on it. We got a new one, we initially wanted to wait so that we could all eat at the same time, but our food was not super warm so we started eating it earlier. My daughter found the herbs on it very disgusting and so did not want to eat it. There was no mayonnaise with the fries, which we are normally used to. In the meantime, no staff came by to take drinks or check whether they were to your liking, they stood behind the bar joking with each other. There was no point in beckoning, because they stood with their backs to us. Moments earlier, the staff had been spoken to by an older staff member, who had ended her shift before them. When collecting the plates, I indicated that my daughter really did not like the nachos, response: annoying, but there is nothing we can do about that. Ordered new drinks, after ten minutes (there were only 3 tables and 3 staff) the wrong drink arrived. The maid had also finished her shift and was flirting and joking with the other staff who still had to work, and went into the kitchen several times in normal clothes and with her hair loose, only to come out giggling. Two other boys (I guess around 17/18) flirted with guests several times and sat down when they were done. Continually walking past the tables and gesticulating and shouting at each other. There was one staff member who was a bit more serious and they tried to tell the other guys to behave themselves. The children still wanted dessert, so I gave it to them, but I was actually done with it. In total we sat for 2.5 hours, for the "almost ready-made" dishes that you get. I thought it was quite a waste of my time and money and won't be back for a while.

I think 4cm long nails are really not done in the catering industry and certainly not if they hang half in your food. I also think serving bottled drinks near the “mouth” is dirty. Throwing down plates, don't say you. That could really be much better.

I am disappointed in my visit to De Beren in Oud-Beijerland.The staff seemed disorganized as we were helped by four different staff members which was confusing and inefficient. In addition, I noticed that one of the employees had long nails, which does not seem hygienic in a restaurant environment. The serving and presentation of the dishes was also mediocre; the food seemed to be put on the table hastily and without care. Overall the service was sub par. The young employees do their best, but it just isn't quite there. I hope De Beren can improve their service because this way I won't be returning anytime soon.

Great fun here! The staff does their best, but it really doesn't seem to make any sense. This has resulted in a full-length comedy programme. For some reason we got our food fairly quickly, unlike the rest of the terrace which was full of sour faces and empty tables. However, not much of it was right. Ordered pork tenderloin satay without mushrooms, got chicken satay with mushrooms and later the pork tenderloin satay (again with mushrooms). Ordered 3x spicy chicken and got 4. Well, we are not the most difficult and throwing it away is a shame. E.a. not seen on the receipt, not annoying either. Honestly? no. Our mistake? no. Food was fine as usual but not special, corresponding to the price.

We have been to many other bear restaurants and it was always fun with the children, but when we came to the Bears in Oud-Beijerland it took away the nice feeling a bit. There was a tense atmosphere among the staff, including a number of young children and a manager who was quite rude to her staff. Unfortunately, we don't come here anymore.

We have already eaten at various Beren restaurants, but it is clear that the locations differ greatly from each other. Food was fine but I was annoyed by the way the staff was treated. Young guests who do their best to serve the guests well, but did not seem to get the appreciation from the manager. Cheap forces that are clearly being abused. De Beren is of course a franchise concept, but it doesn't seem to me that this should be the standard.

The staff was way too young, there was also a girl with curly hair working behind the bar, she looked 13 and she served alcohol. Never come back here (scandalous)

A delivery man comes storming down on his bike, doesn't look left, doesn't look right, you almost run into him, so I talk to him about it and I get a big mouth. You then file a complaint with the branch, you are only told to pass on all the information. When we asked if she knew who it was, we did not get an answer anymore, by then the phone had already been thrown in. So 1 star for the service is clearly too much!!!!

When we arrived, the waitress was too busy with a friend and her phone. I could tell they were watching nail videos. After about 2 minutes I indicated to the waitress that there were customers waiting. Waitress forgot what we ordered after taking our order. Food arrived quite quickly and was of good quality. The dessert took 35 minutes to be reserved, even though the restaurant was almost empty. I won't be eating here again anytime soon.

Staff isnt able to bring all order at once. We had to wait for drink for out friend for half hour. Waitress doent know if spareribs are pork or beef, and when we asked for cheeseburger without bacon, we've got bacon. My companion has shrimps with season veg, season veg was cooked onion and on question "where is that veggie?" we had answer:"you have lemon there!" My chicken tenders had size of cat meal. Waitress told us, patat are include, not a true. Nobody doesnt cleaned our table since we came, so after 4hours, we still had coffe cups what we had when we came in. Rude, untrained staff and realy realy bad qualitty of servis and food.

Mediocre at best. We were a party of 7. Food was hit and miss, and so was staff. The young lady that was serving us was pleasant (if forgetful, everytime we order one or another thing was fogotten), however not so much with the young blond waiter who brought my 'stirfried shrimp with seasonal vegetables' - after I inquired where the seasonal vegetables were, he very helpfully pointed to the lemon and said there is lemon there. After we heartily laughed at that ridiculous suggestion, he seemed annoyed and said that I can take it up myself with the chef if I didnt like it. Perhaps some basic training would be helpful to some of the staff... such as what is the difference between a customer and staff and what is expected of each. Many other things were not correct, big issue with the bill because staff had trouble with the machine, couldnt print out bill, so they said they would email it to me (it has beem 3 weeks and im still waiting), items that were specified by staff as 'included' we were charged for extra, etc etc. It seems like nobody gives one single damn in this place. Needless to say that that was the last time we will be coming there.

We used to order food once every 2 weeks. Was fine. Unfortunately, we have to conclude that they do not have their affairs in order when it comes to delivery. If I evaluate the past 10 times, perhaps once everything was as it should be. Then again I forgot a cookie, then again very late, today again no bacon on the hamburger. Call immediately and yes... it arrives right away... 30 minutes later the delivery person brings the cookie and bacon. What do you think? We can't leave that hamburger out for that long. Of all the other times, I don't have the energy to mention anything about this right now. I can say that we always tried to solve everything by telephone and always hoped that things might be better the next time. But unfortunately...it is now ready for us, no more orders. After the past 10 times, we can conclude that they do not have their affairs in order there in terms of delivery and they do exactly nothing with our feedback. Paint on. Fine. There are plenty of other places where you can get food, then I would say...let's face it, that doesn't mean that nothing costs anything. You pay enough for it.

Tables are very small, food barely fits. The food itself was good but not special. The hot chicken as a starter, I must say, was tasty. Had the satay as a main course, which was nothing special. Service was ok, lots of young people. They came to ask several times if it tasted good, this became a bit annoying. The waitress also didn't know what kriek beer is, they didn't have it either, she said, but another waitress brought it later. Parking lot is around the corner, but very full. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

Had to wait over an hour and a half for 2 carpaccios and a chicken burger. We don't order anything else anymore, because the fries are inedible. And then it doesn't matter which fries you choose or whether you eat in the restaurant or have them delivered. The carpaccio was not worth the wait! 2 drops of dressing, 2 pieces of bacon and 3 kilos of arugula. My son liked the chicken burger but didn't think it was worth the money. Last time for us. There used to be good food there, but unfortunately those days are over. It's a pity that when I called after an hour and a half of waiting, I couldn't even get an apology.

It is still a nice tent, not very high quality, but it hasn't been that way for years. The price-quality ratio is really lacking. EVERYTHING costs extra, and it seems that the staff has been instructed to ask for as many extras as possible with all dishes... the receipt only comes when it is already in the stomach! We were really shocked by the receipt, if we had known this in advance we would not have entered here, the relationship is really off. You are pricing yourself out of the market this way.

The fries that came with my order were not OK. Rock hard leftover pieces of fries, this was inedible. I was contacted immediately about this because this was not allowed to be sold to me. The only “solution” they have is that I have to place a new order (so spend my money here again) and only then out of “lenience” do they deliver a bag of fries. But pay back money that I am entitled to. Ridiculously bad service and food quality here! Do yourself a favor and don't order anything here unless you want to get ripped off!
