Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. Nicely and quietly situated, perfect for sitting on the terrace. Very satisfied with the three-course menu for a reasonable price.

My girlfriend ordered the natural sea bass and received a very heavily spiced sea bass; I ordered prawns in garlic and received prawns in piri piri. So I had to wait another 20 minutes for my food. The fries were cold, but the prawns in garlic were very tasty. I should mention, however, that we were served by student employees.

We've eaten here several times now. The food is delicious. We think the price-quality ratio is excellent. The service is always friendly and very attentive.

Beautiful location, friendly staff. Much praise for the observant waitress who noticed that I had been served chicken gyozas instead of the chicken version. She intervened in time and swapped it for the vegetarian one. At first, staff came quickly, but after that, it remained quiet for a long time and we had to actively try to speak to staff.

We were there today, and this isn't a restaurant, it's a fast-food joint. Schnitzel from the deep fryer and some quick fries. Ready-made sauces! Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all. Fast food for a lot of money!! The staff needs training. The iced coffee overflowed and was served to the customer like that; sorry, that's unacceptable. Then no one even came to clean it up; no, the plate with the food was simply placed in the puddle. 0.00 Points

Had high tea. Tasty food, lots of sweets. Nice service. The only downside was that we weren't allowed outside because the table was already set inside (plates and teapot).

What I don't understand! At the moment, the rating is 4.4 stars. A fine establishment falls between 4.5 and 4.8. In my opinion, the current score is too low for this hospitality venue. Reviews are given that praise this place to the skies, yet they still give it a meager 4 stars. Why? After all, many factors play a role. Also the company with which the establishment is visited. The terrace is spacious with plenty of room between the tables. It is quiet even with a lot of people, and there is enough to see from a distance. Price/quality is OK. Disabled toilet available. Also a disabled parking space.

Delicious food, fast and friendly service

The location is wonderfully quiet and the restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious. The portions were actually quite large. It was very nice that there was air conditioning, especially with the extreme heat. And the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were even allowed to customize one dish for my father in the three-course set menu. Truly superb service. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back here.

There was air conditioning due to the heatwave, which is why we chose this restaurant. However, there was little sign of it; it was scorching hot, making us sweat, and eating wasn't really pleasant. The staff were already busy with fans. And people came down from upstairs who were so hot that they decided to sit on the terrace in the heat because apparently it wasn't as bad as upstairs. I found this to be a real disadvantage; we came for a birthday, and it wasn't really pleasant to eat like this.

A lovely spot, close to the center of Valkenburg yet nicely surrounded by nature. Good food, hospitable people, and beautiful decor. Nice terrace too! I love going there.

The young waitstaff is friendly. The tomato soup was served lukewarm; the main course was flavorful and simple. The terrace furniture looks damaged and is in need of replacement where necessary. The view from the terrace is unattractive: two Eastern Bloc-style apartment buildings and a bare plot of land.

We enjoyed a lovely high tea at De Beren in Valkenburg. The portions were more than sufficient, and the balance was mainly in the sweet range. The tea was refilled regularly, which was very thoughtful. When a lukewarm hot chocolate was served, it was replaced with a new one free of charge without any discussion. This was resolved in a polite and hospitable manner. All in all, a positive experience: generous portions, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere.

Very cozy decor/atmosphere. Good coffee. Unfortunately, it is not clean today. The toilets were not clean, even though it had only just opened. Crumbs on tables, sofas, and the floor, and the manager said I hadn't noticed. I hope it will be clean next time.

Decent food, but not the finest standard; if you want that, go to another restaurant. Good enough for the price, though. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there with children; there's plenty of choice, better than a chip shop. I had trouble with the background music; it was just a bit too loud. We sat more quietly outside.

We’ve been here two times so far. One time dinner with family outside terrace and one time inside 3 course menu. It was ok. Food was just normal not too much special but location and inside interior mood was good! But one thing little bit shame when we were inside had 3course menu we have not too much nice and caring person as a server we doesn’t feel like care or welcoming. We waited for so long every time and they forgot our last dessert so we missed that because of time. I hope not happen again to other people.

For us, and especially for our 4.5-year-old grandson, who says himself that eating at his bear friend's is the best and tastiest thing there is.

We had an all-you-can-eat spareribs menu and it tasted terrible. They were cold, tough, and tasteless; they were like plastic. The service was very friendly. Although we had to mention inside that we were sitting outside and the drinks arrived quite late, we received pretty friendly and nice service. The gentleman in question took the spareribs off the bill and we paid for the drinks. The atmosphere was a bit less pleasant because the municipality was hammering a very large sign into the ground in front of the door.

Just great! Sometimes the wait is a little long and the fries weren't really salty, but as far as I'm concerned, that's no problem.

The ribs at De Berens in Valkenburg were truly delicious. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and tender—they fell right off the bone without any tugging. The flavor was full and well-balanced, exactly what you want in a rib dish. Highly recommended if you're craving ribs that truly deliver on their promises.

Nice restaurant. Parking could be better signposted, especially if you arrive after dark. Perhaps it's also a good idea to remind guests that parking is paid. I would also recommend placing empty crates somewhere inconspicuous and not against a wall in the restaurant itself. It does detract somewhat from the pleasant decor. Otherwise, a fine restaurant.

A hidden gem in Valkenburg with generous portions and a great atmosphere Tucked away at the back of Valkenburg is this fantastic spot—the kind of place you almost accidentally pass by, but are glad you did. The service is excellent, the social deal surprisingly generous, and the decor is sleek enough to make you sit up straighter. After dinner, you can head straight into the greenery for a pleasant walk, and within a few minutes you're back in the city center. It doesn't get any more convenient than that. Conclusion: a hidden gem with generous portions, a pleasant atmosphere, and a top location. Definitely worth discovering! 🌿🍽️✨

Excellent restaurant with exceptionally friendly service led by an excellent manager

We booked for a family weekend with 10 people for a three-course menu. The menu is still on the website, but that suddenly doesn't apply on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, so that was disappointing, especially considering the budget for the weekend. The chef was unwilling to give any reason, and no free drink as compensation. The food, which we did eat anyway, was delicious. Otherwise, no complaints, but better communication and a bit more friendliness would have been nice.

I went the other day because I'm new to this city and couldn't find anywhere else to eat, and I really loved it... both the food and the place... I'll definitely be back.

It was truly amazing! There was also an employee named Vé who truly deserves a big thumbs up for her enthusiasm and passion. Everyone there was super friendly, and the food was really good! Highly recommended 👌🏼👌🏼

We were really looking forward to a pleasant evening out, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table with a strong draft, making it very cold. We were, however, allowed to move to a different table. One of us had ordered a truffle croquette as a starter, but after the rest of the group had already finished theirs, we had to ask for it. It took a long time before the dish finally arrived. In general, the time between courses was also quite long; we waited over an hour for the starter to arrive. For the main course, one of us ordered a schnitzel with pepper sauce, but the pepper sauce was missing. Furthermore, the glasses from previous rounds of drinks weren't cleared away, so at one point the table was completely covered with empty glasses. The service was poorly organized, meaning we frequently had to ask where our food was. After the main course, the lights suddenly dimmed, making it almost impossible to see. Fortunately, this was adjusted after we asked. Clearing the plates also took a very long time. When we finally tried to order desserts, one of them turned out to be unavailable. Because everything was taking so long, we were offered a free round of drinks. Unfortunately, some desserts weren't tasty or incomplete: for example, the deluxe coffee was supposed to come with macarons, but they weren't. We had to pay a hefty price and it was a rather unpleasant experience. If it were up to us, we wouldn't come here again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. All in all, it's a shame, because the evening could have been so much more enjoyable with a little more attention and organization from the staff.

Problems in the kitchen resulted in poor service. The meal itself wasn't bad, but the Berenburger was cold. The staff tried but showed little understanding. When we ultimately wanted to leave without dessert because it was taking too long, they ignored us, which was a shame. In that sense, I wouldn't recommend it.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience with the very friendly staff, the atmospheric restaurant, and the excellent three-course menu. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys good and tasty food! We will definitely go back again.

The Kruidvat 3-course menu is highly recommended! You'll be absolutely stuffed and get generous portions. The rib fingers, truffle croquettes, and spicy crispy chicken are highly recommended. Friendly service with a good sense of humor. Cozy decor!
