We ordered a glass of wine and thought we would add the loaded nachos. These cost €9.50, so we thought we would soon have a plate full of goodies. The sign is coming. We looked at each other for a few minutes because we couldn't believe it. A mini plate with exactly ten tortilla chips and some spring onions and some sauce sprayed on it. Wine were actually too surprised. It wasn't until we walked outside and I said it was quite a lot of money for ten chips that we thought, this is ridiculous. We would like to say that the staff was super friendly. We live nearby, didn't want to sit in the hustle and bustle of Valkenburg for a drink and thought we would sit at De Beren, but those Nachos are really not possible. We know that you can eat well there, so try these loaded nachos, which are among the snacks to share. There was no sharing, it was far too little for that. For 9.50 you expect a decent plate.

De beren in Valkenburg. Tegenwoordig 2 locaties in Valkenburg. Wij zijn bij locatie Leeuwenhof geweest. Voor het restaurant is er een grote parkeerplaats. Door bezoekers van de kerstmarkt was het er heel erg druk. Gelukkig een plekje weten te krijgen. De sfeer bij de Beren was gezellig en ongedwongen. Flink versierd met kerstboompjes, kaarsjes enz. een tafeltje boven, weg bij de trap. De kaart is redelijk, vooral gespitst op mensen die vlees eten. Er zijn enkele vega opties zoals een vegaburger. Ook meerdere opties voor vis. We kozen voor de zalm en de zeebaars. Beide opties waren lekker, met een beetje groente en wat frietjes erbij. Je kunt lekker rustig eten. Daarmee bedoel ik dan dat ze niet elke 5 minuten aan de tafel staan om te vragen of alles naar wens is. Ze komen om het eten en drinken te brengen en verder alleen als jij dat wil. en dat is wel fijn. Helaas zat er achter ons een tafel met kleine kinderen en hebben we zowat de hele avond alleen maar geblèr en geschreeuw gehoord. Uiteraard kan het restaurant hier niets aan doen maar het was wel jammer. Laatste opmerking, we hadden haren in ons eten. Nadat we dat gemeld hadden kregen we een paar sokken van de Beren ter compensatie. Grappig maar niet wat we verwacht hadden. Het eten was lekker, de bediening was vriendelijk en snel. Een leuke plek voor een etentje. Reserveren is noodzakelijk. De verhouding van de prijs / kwaliteit vond ik persoonlijk niet helemaal kloppen. Maar als we rustig hadden kunnen zitten zonder schreeuwende kinderen dan was het wel in orde geweest. Nog een opmerking. Honden mogen (in de zomer) mee op het terras. En hoewel op de website staat dat honden welkom zijn, mogen ze dus niet mee het restaurant in. Dat mag wel iets duidelijker op de website vermeld worden.

Super lekker gegeten voor een mega goede prijs dankzij de 3 gangen menu. Zeker de moeite waard! Ook super gezellig om te zitten en mega vriendelijk personeel. Dikke aanrader!

Very messy inside, people walking through the restaurant looking for the toilets. And you have to be able to eat quickly because within half an hour the next guests had to leave again, so it wasn't a shame to enjoy a nice after dinner. But the food was great

Afgelopen vrijdag hebben we heerlijk geluncht bij De Beren in het centrum van Valkenburg. Wat meteen opviel was de gezellige sfeer; de inrichting is sfeervol en warm, wat meteen een welkom gevoel geeft. Het eten was uitstekend – alles was vers en goed op smaak, en de porties waren precies goed. Ook de service verdient een compliment. Het personeel was vriendelijk, attent en zorgde ervoor dat we ons echt gast voelden. Al met al een topdag! Wij komen hier zeker nog eens terug. Een aanrader voor iedereen die Valkenburg bezoekt!

Locatie: Grote straat Centrum 32 Vriendelijk personeel. Zie je erg weinig dus absoluut een aanrader. Eten was erg goed, grote porties, genoeg sausjes en keus. Top!!!

Nice place, staff seemed rushed. Advice; bring a little more peace into the matter. Spare ribs were more steamed than fried, lacked crispiness. Mayonnaise from the tube and chocolate sauce are also not homemade; what else? Spicy is really spicy, it brings tears to your eyes and your nose opens up.

Ate here with a group of friends. We had made a reservation in time, but we still had to look carefully for a free table. We eventually got this somewhere at the back in a dark corner, but first all kinds of packaging had to be unpacked before we could take a seat. Attention should often be paid to this as it can entail dangers such as food poisoning. The service was friendly but we were addressed as 'sweet girls'. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and offers atmosphere. A first time but unfortunately not a second time.

During our annual staff outing (~ 40 people) we ended up at restaurant De Beren for dinner. In advance, Peggy and colleagues from De Beren thought carefully about the wishes and possibilities based on our budget. On the evening itself we were able to take a seat on the terrace in a cozy set-up with long tables. We had a good meal and drinks for a very reasonable price. The service was also excellent, despite the crowds. In short, we are very satisfied! Thanks!

Reserved a 4-course menu via social deal. After reading the reviews, I was a bit hesitant at first, but the staff was friendly, the food was tasty, the chicken was nice and tender, and the crème brulee is highly recommended. Taste issue: personally I find the satay sauce a bit sweet/soy-like, but otherwise everything was perfect. It also went well, we didn't have to wait long between courses. I personally find the Kerkrade location a bit more pleasant, it is a bit more open. Also a big plus: no paper straws, but bamboo? or something, so you can enjoy your iced coffee without a mushy straw! The iced coffee itself is also recommended. In summary, De Beren Valkenburg is definitely recommended, but luckily I didn't find any dog ​​treats in our food ;).

Not special, but that should have been the expectation in advance. All-stars tourist menu, with satay, pork tenderloin, steak, hamburger and salmon. Wine, like so many things, is not to be trifled with.
