We enjoyed Christmas brunch here on Christmas Day. The food was very varied and well-prepared. The dessert buffet at the end was absolutely fantastic! The service was friendly and attentive.

Had a company party at a beautiful location in a park by a lovely pond. Ample parking. The food was good.

Based on the reviews, we decided to skip this one after our day at Apenheul.

Had a BBQ party. It was perfect.

After a day at Apenheul, we stopped for a drink before leaving. It was very quiet on the terrace, just one other couple. There were ten of us. We waited 20 minutes for someone to show up. Then we went inside to see if the terrace was open. Yes, it was, but we were told they had to prepare the room and to be patient. Ten minutes later, someone showed up. When we asked what beers they had, she had to go back inside to check. Finally, the drinks arrived, but four of the glasses still had lip prints from the previous users. When we asked for new glasses, she looked at us with a look of disdain, like, "How dare you say anything about this?" The lady gave us new glasses anyway. Personally, I think the woman (quite young) didn't have any real experience in the hospitality industry. Next time, we'll get a soda from the cafeteria at the park entrance.

A beautiful, green, and peaceful retreat next to the entrance to Apenheul Primate Park. It offers a lovely view of the forest pond. The location invites you to stroll around the pond, nestled in an area with hiking trails at various elevations. Walking along the surrounding streams will help you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The service is very pleasant and the food is excellent.

The restaurant was acquired by the Apenheul Primate Park earlier this year. Many negative reviews are about the previous owner. After a day at the Apenheul, I had pizza with my son. We made a reservation in advance, but it wasn't necessary at 5:00 PM. We arrived half an hour early, and that was no problem at all. They work with a local pizza restaurant, so you get a pizza and a (non-alcoholic) drink for €15. It's a great deal, and the pizza tastes great. Be prepared for excellent delivery pizza. Two minor points for improvement: - The staff isn't yet sufficiently familiar with the menu. They have no idea what kind of beer they serve. - There were still empty glasses on several tables, even though the staff had been sleeping there for extended periods. It wasn't very inviting to sit down. Never return to the kitchen empty-handed.

A convenient location for a bite to eat after a day at Apenheul. Beautiful view. The pizzas are unfortunately quite bland. No vegetables in sight. The average frozen pizza from the supermarket has better toppings (and is tastier).

Beautiful view, friendly staff (rare!), and surprising (and delicious) pizza flavors. And a great price too! Highly recommended, a nice place to relax after the Apenheul, in our case :)

Arrived at 15:00 at the Boschvijver to have a drink and something to eat after a bike ride. We asked where we could sit, the man said it would be better to sit outside in the shade and have a breath of wind. We looked for a place to sit for both of us, but many tables were reserved But we found a table where we could both sit. A waitress came to clear the table because of the used bottle and glass of drink. We asked her if we could order some food, but the waitress said that the kitchen was closed because of the heat (in a grumpy tone). We find this strange, tables reserved by others but no kitchen that is open.

Beautiful location. We also had a nice day at the Apenheul ... Unfortunately the kitchen was closed so we couldn't eat. Very strange for a restaurant at 16:45. We went somewhere else.

A beautiful location in the Berg en Bos park in Apeldoorn near the entrance to the Apenheul, a beautiful location that can be rented for parties or for a terrace, in the area there are beautiful walking routes, a playground where you can also enjoy a picnic and not to forget a beautiful climbing forest.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed so we couldn't eat. Very strange for a restaurant.... Service on the terrace took such a long time that I went somewhere else, hungry and thirsty.

We had a training for a large group here. Well provided in terms of coffee, soft drinks and muffins etc with the coffee. Lunch buffet was also well catered for. We were able to sit outside on the terrace overlooking the pond.

It's a restaurant right next to a family friendly Zoo (Apenheul). It's exactly what you expect. Okay food, decent staff and clean bathrooms. Drink portions are small, food portions are fine, all pretty average. The view of the fountain is quite nice, though.

Na een bezoek aan de Apenheul en een wandeling in stadspark Berg en Bos hier wat gedronken. Van buiten wekt het een chique indruk maar is het niet. Van binnen leuk ingericht. Aan de tafel naast ons was men aan het genieten van het eten dus vermoedelijk is dat ook prima maar wij hadden alleen een drankje. Volgens mijn partner die koffie had was deze erg lekker. Ik had een prima thee. We vielen de spinnenwebben op en rond de schilderijen mij erg op. Daar mogen ze wel een keertje langs met een stofdoek. Verder prima.

There is a sticker stating that they were recommended by Iens in 2014. 10 years later a sad intention. What unfriendly service, uninterested lady who is afraid to say something nice I think. Expensive nachos and bitterballen and really dirty toilets without toilet paper. The only nice thing is the view.

I can't agree with the bad reviews, the service was very attentive and friendly, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice.

You are clearly paying for the location and beautiful architecture of the building, other than that there is no reason to go here. It was quite unpleasant and unfortunately substandard food for the price. I get the distinct impression that it was taken over at some point, mainly because the building looks very nice, but that's what it was. I suspect because it is quiet most of the time because Apenheul visitors who often have children, which is the main type of person who comes around here, do not tend to eat in a more expensive place. Too bad, the beautiful location and the building itself promised something. Unfortunately not worth a visit now. Music could be heard at times, occasionally from the kitchen. The door is nice and open, who doesn't like a draft. The food is served half cold. The map is unclear. There are too few desserts, and no fresh variety. The food was clearly way too expensive for what you get in return, and yes, you can taste it. But yes, the view is really beautiful. When the weather is nice, it is really beautiful here. If you are willing to pay extra for this and can forgive the food, this place is worth a visit.

Very unfortunate, the doors said they were open, but it was dark inside, and the snack bar opposite also thought they were open. At 5:10 PM on Thursday, August 22, I bump into "the mumbling to himself" owner and ask him if they are open. Unfortunately, looking down and mumbling, I could only make out the word "closed" as he continued at a small trot towards the parking lot. It would have been a nice ending after a day of monkey hell, but unfortunately it wasn't possible.

While the food they offer is nothing special, they do offer a nice view of their terrace and would highly recommend to sit there for a while to enjoy the scenery.

Absolute no-go. You pay 17.25 euros for a mixed appetizer of 12 pieces, served in a plastic? Possibly bamboo container. Think of a really bad frozen product and reheating it. Microwave level. Your beer glass is knocked onto your table with the other brand on it - without greeting - but what you do welcome is a dash of liquid that is still at the bottom of your glass. I don't think the lonely seesaw in a dark part of the forest would be challenging for your child. The only nice thing here is the view of the beautiful forest pond with fountain, if you can get the only scarce spot, otherwise you just sit in the shade behind a pillar. So, just don't do it... So what? While you're here, in Berg & Bos Park, take your car or bike to restaurant no. 15 in Hoog Soeren. (a little further away) Enjoy the menu, the fair prices, the atmosphere, the experience and a host and hostess with a passion for catering running through their veins.

The food was delicious! A good start to an afternoon at Apenheul. Customer service was also great! A very sweet girl works there! My compliments for her kindness. She ran in all directions, for all orders. But what a horrible man 'I'm guessing' the owner is. Extremely ON friendly to his staff. Of course, if you sit outside you won't experience any of that. But we were sitting right next to it... I had long since run away with his person above me! Bah! We will NEVER come here for his mood and direction alone! And I would say to the 'new' girl! Apply somewhere else, where you will be treated as you should. The comment when the girl said very sweetly 'I don't know what my colleague thinks about me taking over her task'. To which he said 'I am the boss here, you are going to do it NOW'..

Wanting to get something good for dinner after visiting the park, we stopped at the restaurant "de bosch vijver". After our order was taken by an apparently unmotivated waitress, the first dish arrived. Unfortunately the wrong one... They didn't want to believe us and pointed out the order, which was taken incorrectly by the waitress. The food was taken away disgruntledly, with the remark that it would take even longer. The staff probably thought an apology was unnecessary. When everyone had the food they had ordered on the table, we were very disappointed and even disgusted with the dishes. The pasta Bolognese for children simply tasted horribly like beef bouillon with a few meat crumbs (the menu said meatballs), price: €10.50. Another dish we had was described as a “luxurious appetizer platter for 2 people”, price: €31.50. The platter was an absolute joke for the price and consisted of a few sweetly marinated green olives, some bread, 2 mini paninis, 4 far-dry mini chicken drumsticks, 4 bitter balls, a few cubes of plain cheese, crackers, cream cheese and pesto. Of this selection, we only enjoyed the panini to some extent; the fried bitterballen were also okay. Everything else was poorly prepared and really not tasty. The craft beer we drank there was tasty, but didn't require any input from the restaurant. The location and ambience of the restaurant was appealing. Even when paying later, no apology was given for the incorrect order, nor was a farewell deemed necessary. All in all, we cannot recommend the restaurant!

What an expensive disposal tent!! The money is knocked out of your pocket like almost everywhere 🙄 My son had poffertjes for €5.75 😳😳😳 I think they were only 10 poffertjes that you could push into your hollow molar, scandalous. I had a salmon salad, a little salmon and 1 piece of brie and the rest lettuce with 3 pieces of baguette (can get it for €18 😡) They wanted to charge €8.50 for tomato soup, while the menu outside said €6.50. If I had said something about it, I didn't have to pay €8.50 per person! All in all, not worth repeating. Unfortunately the food is way too expensive.

Excellent location, but it is really not possible to make reservations for tables so as not to have to walk too far, many elderly people come here. There was 1 lady who was not allowed to pay for the guests, but was by far the best hostess, she understands the catering industry and guests. The lady with glasses is not suitable for this profession. No thank you at checkout, automatic tone, no experience with the guests, only with themselves. Such a shame, the capu and apple pie were tasty. Keep the entire terrace open, after all, you want to generate revenue and not send guests away!

Thought I would go to a restaurant to have dinner, but the restaurant has the appearance of a room where you can say goodbye to someone. We were having drinks outside with a group of 12 people, if you go to dinner you sit at the table around 6:00/7:00 PM and enjoy the whole evening. But an unfriendly lady came to tell us that the kitchen will close at 6:00 PM 😳 When the reservation was made, time was not a problem, we stayed nice until we closed. We almost ran to the table, the order was taken quickly, the soup was there in a few minutes. The main course was of course already in the pan, everything was pushed through quickly. The cook in the kitchen didn't really feel like it anymore. With every order after the main course, a deep sigh from the lady serving. No pleasant music in the background, no candle on the table. The Berg en Bos park website states that you can settle the parking ticket at the cash register, we still showed the text but it was only for large groups. Our group was too small. By the way, it does not say on the site how large the group should be. But people who were in the room next door were reimbursed for their parking ticket. Still something positive, food wasn't bad. It will be a great place for lunch (pancake), but absolutely not for dinner. There was no one else in the restaurant. not to be repeated

Though the atmosphere is nice and the view of the fountain looks great, the food was only okay. The portions were so small that we decided to get fries afterward. Service was slow. It seemed like the place was understaffed. For what you're getting, it's quite overpriced €17 for a dry sandwich. We left disappointed.

Seems like a good restaurant, but service is poor, not friendly staff. We waited for half an hour, the service just passed us by the whole time, and in the end we left without eating or drinking there. Crappy restaurant!

We had lunch here. The staff was nice and the food was very tasty. The mustard soup and the ham cheese sandwich were super tasty. The other food was also tasty. However, one major disadvantage, the prices were extremely high and probably recently increased by at least 20% because the prices on the menu were more than 20% higher than on the site, and they were already above normal.

Bad service, they didn't even come to the table to take the order, we had to pay again, we felt like coffee and cake, but as they said, the fruit cake, this was really a joke, very dried out and certainly not fresh

We had dinner here at Christmas, it was very nice, the food was not really my thing, but now I am a bit old-fashioned in this regard. But it was good and the service was good. I do think that people should do something about the clothing, at least something with the name on it so that you can see that people work there, the space was a bit tight

Nice place to sit, with a nice view and nice atmosphere. Service was also good. Only the quality of the food for the price asked was disappointing. It was tasty, but certainly not special.

Highly recommended! The location is beautiful, unfortunately the room looked more like a condolence room. We had booked a high tea. This was immediately minimal, we had to ask for the coffee that comes with it, 1 pot of tea for 20 people, which we immediately had to ask for more, very simple sandwiches that were also really old bread, simple shortbread and seafood. Staff did not greet upon arrival. But the worst part was that we had to wait a long time for the second round with, among other things, quiches and hot snacks. When I inquired, it turned out that this was no longer included in the package. When we booked 4 weeks earlier, we also had a print screen of the site. The owner stayed upstairs in the office with the complaint and let his staff solve it. It was recognized that they had made a mistake; the package remained the same price but with half the food. But we didn't get a solution; no extra food and the same bill. Scandalous!!! Sad also for my grandmother who took our family here for her birthday. Really...never go here, don't give this owner a cent!!

High tea was very brief. Not everything was served, even after complaint, even though it was paid for. The ordered option was removed from the website after the complaint.

We had booked a high tea for 20 people. My sister booked it and took a screenshot of all the goodies we would get. Dishes would be placed twice. We only got 1 round. When we asked them for it. And the screenshots showed. They had to call their boss. But that was it. It is exactly as indicated below in the review. Very bad long wait, not very friendly. And a very mediocre high tea. 1 star is still too much. Too bad for that restaurant, nice location that is the only plus.

Nice place, it took a while before we were helped (we are also looking for staff). Our little one had already finished his bottle. Otherwise fine but simple food for a decent price.

Just had a high tea with 7 colleagues, in a word, a shame, for the money spent on putting it on the table. This way I can become rich and drive around in a BMW all day, the ladies who serve are super nice, but the owner, 3 times nothing; next time high tea or lunch dinner, not at the forest pond. I saw again today that the catering industry is wringing its own neck, expensive and very little on the plate, it is not too late people

If you visit the Apenheul, this restaurant is a godsend because it is located next to the parking lot and has a beautiful view of a large pond with fountain. And above all, it is quiet. It is a creation of the Maas Kristinsson Architects

Kind of a touristy atmosphere during the day, I expect it to be a bit more classy in the evening; the building certainly looks like it.

This used to be a chic restaurant, but nowadays there is nothing left of it. It is nothing more than a lunch cafe with casual dinner options in a beautiful building. I had the salmon myself, but it was actually just a small piece of meat and it had no real taste. The soup beforehand was okay, but that's it. The kitchen also closed at 7:15 PM, so there was no longer even the option to order dessert! Service was still friendly, but more than 50 euros was charged too much because an order from another table had been included!! All in all, I would really not recommend this place because you can get so much better, especially for these prices... If you really want to eat a good salmon fillet for the same price, then go to the Houtplaats in Rheden.

The lady serving us thought clearing and cleaning tables was more important than helping us. When I asked if there was a high chair, I was pointed inside and I had to get it myself. (And leave my daughter outside alone?) Everything but customer friendly.

We cannot order from this nondescript young man, we have to order from his colleague. This one doesn't make much sense either. The carpaccio sandwiches were fine, but the price was far too high. Plates are taken away, we are not asked if we enjoyed it or if we would like anything else. Went inside to pay somewhat disappointed. Here too, no one asks (probably the owner) whether everything was tasty. Unfortunately not worth repeating.

The location is ideal, beautiful view over the pond. Service is mediocre, dirty tables that are only cleaned after asking several times, service not efficient. Hamburger looks more like an overcooked meatball, bone dry. Too expensive for what you get.

Incredibly chaotic, no structure at all, it simply takes more than 30 minutes before you get your drink. And we finally got it after 30 minutes because after 20 minutes we asked where our drinks were?! We saw several other people who literally got up after waiting more than 30 minutes at a table. Such a pity! because they are in such a beautiful location and they miss out on a lot of income because of this. This problem has been around for years, I see in the reviews, it's a pity that they don't participate!!! We ended up eating fries at Imbiss, seriously, you can do better, they at least have structure and it's cheaper too!

Vanmiddag met mijn man lekker geluncht bij Restaurant De Boschvijver. We zaten op het terras met adembenemend uitzicht op de vijver met fontein. Ik bestelde een carpaccio salade en die was heerlijk. Echt een aanrader. Na de lunch hebben wij nog een fijne wandeling gemaakt rondom de vijver, en genoten van de natuur. Top.

Location is beautiful. The food is mediocre, with few (barely) vegetarian and vegan options. Older man behind the bar was very sexist and unfriendly. Definitely not recommended.

Beautiful place in the mountain and forest park, with a view of the fountain and pond. Not a very extensive menu, but plenty of choice and delicious food! Friendly staff. Price is a bit high, but if you take the quality of food and location into account, it's a good price.

We waren met vier volwassenen en hebben gelunched a la carte. We kregen een tafel aan het raam met schitterend uitzicht over de vijver met fontein. De sfeer was ongedwongen. De kaart gaf ons een paar gevarieerde keuzes. Het eten was heerlijk en de bediening zeer vriendelijk. We kijken met plezier terug op ons uitje en kunnen dit restaurant zeker aanbevelen!
