Very nice experience at the Mark - in addition to the food and service, which were both very good, the Mark was also beautiful, an authentic place - an evening we will not forget - thank you!

We had a wonderful dinner, the atmosphere is great, the staff are wonderful and we had a wonderful evening. There was enough choice for my pregnant wife in non-alcoholic drinks and enough dishes that he could eat. The salad with crab was a bit too salty for my taste, but that is the only thing I can say about another great evening!

Een mooi, knus restaurant met heel goede, originele keuken. Veel vegetarische gerechten. De noten pate was verrukkelijk evenals de haas en het peer desert. Wel aan de prijs, maar het zeker waard. De drank (glas wijn) is tikje te duur, maar het moet ergens mee verdient worden. Puntje eraf omdat engels de voertaal is en de belabberde parkeermogelijkheden. (Bij verlaten voetbalterrein).

Super nice tent with even nicer toilets in idyllic Durgerdam. Been here for lunch and enjoyed every dish. Especially the mushroom dish, the tomato steak tartare and also the cod with sauerkraut. Great service and they also had quite a few options for the non-alcoholic among us.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at restaurant De Mark. From the moment we stepped in we felt at home. The staff was friendly and welcoming; nobody felt rushed or stressed despite it being a busy night, including staff working in the beautiful open kitchen. It says a lot! Also a special compliment to the interior designer who succeeded in creating the right atmosphere in this former fishermen's house near Amsterdam. We had the Chef's surprise menu and every course was tasteful and delicious. We also loved the excellent wine, staff recommended for each course. A night to remember.

It is a beautiful place with a view over the IJsselmeer, even in autumnal weather. The food was of very good quality, as was the wine, in short, we enjoyed a delicious lunch. The only downside was that the restaurant was completely empty and I was told that there would only be room at the bar and if I wanted to sit there. The fact that there was a double booking would have been stated in the booking confirmation. There was nothing in the email and I sat at the bar for 1.5 hours in an otherwise almost empty restaurant. Fortunately, the food was so tasty and the wine so good that it did not spoil the fun.

Very good brakfast, nice location!

I went with my partner and our newborn baby for lunch. The menu is great, with some close to home, but also some surprising dishes and combinations - everything we had was tasty and fresh. The service was friendly, efficient and very accommodating (they made some extra space for the stroller we brought with us). I would recommend this place also for business lunches/diners. Last but not least, there is great parking at the end of the street.

Super nice location and has potential to become a really nice restaurant. Food was okay but insufficient compared to the price. Chicken was too dry and caramel ice cream was way too watery. What was especially disappointing was the service. Were constantly chatting very loudly with each other and not doing these really basic things. For example, you did not get a new glass if you ordered a different wine and it took a very long time to order even though there was only one other table.

Spot on, this place. Beautiful restaurant with beautiful dishes and ditto wines. Such a delicious vegetarian meal, in such a long time. Thanks!

Dirty, wet and drizzly weather threw a spanner in the works! Unfortunately, there was no zoning weather at the beginning of September and the dinner I had imagined on the terrace on the water literally fell through, but what a positive surprise awaited us inside the restaurant. What a warm atmosphere inside the restaurant! A space filled with candlelight, dark wood, gold accents, a beautiful bar and an open kitchen that spread the subtle scent of smoking wood. Fantastic food and a wide choice for pregnant women on the menu, which was a big plus. In addition, very friendly staff and a nice touch that the chefs also serve and explain the food. We will definitely come back!

De Mark is a very good, cosey and comfortable restaurant in Durgerdam, with a surprising kitchen! We enjoyed dinner very much, the flavours of the menu’s were excellent and tasty, and also very nice presented as well. The kitchen staff were all so friendly and they served us very well. We definately will come back a next time!

Mooi terras aan het water. Bediening vriendelijk, maar de prijzen zijn ronduit schandalig. Een BBQ kip voor €36 is te bizar voor woorden. Voorgerechten ook belachelijk duur. Prima om geld uit te geven, maar dit was het absoluut niet waard

Atmospheric ambiance, staff are very hospitable. Delicious food and beautiful location. We took a taxi (Bol) from Amsterdam CS. 15 min. They have a few parking spaces under their own management upon request, but you can park at the football field. That's close.

Grappig om de ervaringen van anderen te lezen na het bezoek. Mijn vrouw had dit restaurant geboekt als een verrassing op de maandag avond - leuke sfeer, attente bediening en heerlijk eten. Interessant om andere ervaringen te lezen, welke komen van mensen met 1 bijdrage en negatief zijn. Wij bezoeken veel restaurants wereld wijd en posten vaak niets, enkel indien het onverwachts tegenvalt of omdat het een pareltje is. De Mark is zeker een aanrader en komen graag terug!

Delicious food, fantastic service and atmosphere

We had a fantastic lunch there last Friday (September 6). The surroundings are beautiful, and we only sat outside. The restaurant itself is also beautiful to see. Even more important are the people who work there. You will be welcomed with enormous warmth and passion. This is also evident from the dishes that are served. One dish is even tastier than the other. This restaurant is highly recommended, but don't spread the word.

It took a while before we had our regular waiter, but after that everything went very smoothly and the food was really delicious

Creative dishes with lots of unexpected flavours but not pretentious and in the right amount. Service was very friendly at specially sommelier Diedrik, who has a great taste (and moustache) The interior is a perfect combination of the old and the new in warm colours. Stylish but not too fashionable. Allover perfect quiet luxury on a beautiful location.

Wij wilden heerlijk genieten met een flesje wijn aan het water, gezellig op het terras met prachtig uitzicht echter kregen direct op een zeer onvriendelijke manier te horen dat hier alleen een lunch mogelijk is. We konden een plekje voor de deur van het restaurant aan de weg krijgen. Wij zeiden dit jammer te vinden omdat wij speciaal voor het mooie terras naar Durgerdam gereden waren. De opmerking:" u wil niet weten hoeveel auto's hier voorbij rijden, als deze mensen alleen maar een drankje komen doen, daar is ons terras niet voor", kwam bij ons heel naar over en wij zijn uiteraard gelijk weg gegaan. Alles is al gereserveerd voor lunch was een betere opmerking geweest. Gelukkig zijn er genoeg andere leuke plekjes en hebben wij toch nog genoten elders en er nog een heerlijke iets latere middaglunch bij genomen, want eerlijk......zo'n brute behandeling maakte hongerig!!

Leuke plek aan het water. Prima bediening, maar voor een glas witte wijn moet je 14 euro betalen. Dat was even schrikken, vooral omdat er geen prijslijst van de wijn aanwezig is. Een paar glaasjes en een bitterbal kwam uit op 75 euro!

What a treat to eat here. Take chef's menu and be surprised by the kitchen. The staff is very nice and knows what they are talking about. Perfect location if you have something to celebrate. Everything is right here.

Het is zondagmiddag, prachtig weer en 15.05 uur. Het terras beneden aan het water heeft 5 à 6 vrije tafeltjes. Vriendin en ik blij. We willen wat drinken.. 'Sorry. De tafeltjes hier zijn alleen voor lunch of diner', is het chagrijnige antwoord als we aangeven iets te willen drinken. Onze opmerking dat vijf over drie best laat is voor een lunch, maar vooral heel vroeg voor een diner helpt niet. Onze verbijsterde blik wordt opgemerkt als we weer bovenkomen door een mannelijke medewerker. Zijn vragende blik maakt dat vriendin toch even checkt of alle vrije tafeltjes leeg blijven tot aan het diner en wij dus geen drankje daar kunnen drinken. 'English', is de gebiedende toon. Vriendin (Engels zeer vaardig en - net als ondergetekende- ervaren in de horeca) herhaalt de vraag. 'Ah, she does that so that we don't get overwhelmed..' Geen grap. Geen ironie. Het is ook allemaal zo veel... . We raken in gesprek met de bewoners van Durgerdam. Ze lachen. En schudden het hoofd. Dit is bekend. Deze sneue Gen-Z vibe laten we voor altijd aan ons voorbij gaan. Niet om de (te hoge) prijzen. Om de attitude.

4 euros for a small fake coke. Really ridiculous. That's nice Fritz Kola, but that is of course a poor interpretation. Only the "eaters" are allowed to sit on the terrace, so we had to sit on a wooden bench.

I was riding my bike past craving very good French fries and was delighted to find de mark durgerdam and fries on the menu : I had been swimming in the river all day and hadn’t eaten so I really needed a pick me up to bike the next 40 minutes: I was told I couldn’t pay with cash or use my phone and I didn’t bring a bank card to the beach cuz I didn’t want it stolen. I was told it was impossible and sent away. It felt so bad , I had cash in my pocket and it wasn’t welcome so instead of a lovely snack by the water on the way home, I was rejected and sent off hungry :: I remember when it was Pier 73 and I could enjoy fries and wine at the end of the pier after a swim with my cats: those days are clearly over : good bye gezelligheid

Great food experience at a nice terrace by the water!

Nice place, but paying 30+ euros for an omelet is a bit too much for me. Coffee also crazy expensive. 25 euros for a bowl of yogurt, come on guys!!! 😭 It may be so tasty, but then you still feel quite ripped off.

It's a magical place! Enjoyed our stay at the hotel and ALL the food in the restaurant! Local produce + you feel they put heart and soul in the menu – highly recommended!

Vanzelfsprekend is de locatie fantastisch, meer dan mooi uitzicht op een fantastisch IJmeer en een mooi uitzicht op IJburg. De kwaliteit van het personeel laat echter te wensen over. Laten in de bediening nogal wat steekjes vallen en zijn in mijn beleving onvoldoende servicegericht. Gisteravond (7–8-2024) was het zeker niet druk en toch werden we een aantal keren genegeerd omdat ze het blijkbaar te druk met andere zaken hadden en met name met zichzelf. De kwaliteit van het eten laat te wensen over, er wordt gepretendeerd dat er ster waardig wordt gekookt, maar dit allerminst. Voorgerecht paté van noten en paddenstoelen was zeer muf van smaak en de compote van geweckte pruimen was smaakloos. Als hoofdgerecht de gebrande kabeljauw waar de zolderspek ver was te zoeken en het visje zeer waterig smaakte en net gaar was. Kortom smaakloos. De wijnkaart is uitgebreid maar het is lastig een redelijk geprijsde wijn te vinden, het prijsniveau van de wijnen en de daarvan te verwachten kwaliteit staat niet in verhouding met de geringe kwaliteit van het eten. Het kan echter niet zo zijn dat de wijn de kwaliteteit van het eten goed moet maken. De chef kok weet zichzelf op de website een veer in z’n r…t te steken, maar heeft weinig opgestoken van de leermeesters in de keukens waar hij voorheen heeft gewerkt, Tja en als er dan afgerekend wordt en de rekening wordt gepresenteerd waarbij per Gin Tonic eur 20,00 in rekening wordt gebracht dan ben je helemaal klaar met dit restaurant en gaan we de volgende keer niet meer naar de Mark en op zoek naar een kwalitatief goed restaurant.

We were lucky to be able to sit outside, beautiful terrace on the water. The food looks nice, but I thought it tasted a bit bland. I had hare oak as a main course and green asparagus as a starter. My partner really liked the fish starter and so did the lamb. Our phone was supposed to be charged, but that turned out not to have happened at the end of our visit - unfortunately the battery was empty and there was a problem with paying. But solved. Two boys from Sweden were pleasant in the service, but their English was difficult to understand. There was no room for our E-bikes - we were sent to the end of the street, near the football club.

Prachtige locatie hoor. Maar, achteraf pas horen, €15 voor een matig gevuld huiswijn. 4 glazen dus €60 afrekenen. Dat heb ik de meest luxe restaurants nog nooit meegemaakt. Ik ben daar klaar mee.

A very welcoming place on the water with kind staff and delicious food made by a chef previously at a Michelin star restaurant

Delicious special dishes, with good balance and good matching wines. On a nice terrace on the IJmeer.

Of course it is a beautiful location, which seems mainly intended for mooring boats from Amsterdam. When we arrived by bike, we were asked if we wanted to see the menu first, because there was only a dinner menu. When we asked whether we could only order a starter for lunch, the answer was affirmative. So: asparagus and crab salad. Well prepared, but it takes 45 minutes for 3 asparagus with some whipped foam and 1 egg, which is a bit long. It took some searching for the crab in the crab salad, but otherwise it was fine. The highlight was the 'water service' (pronounced in English): 1 bottle of sparkling water for €8, which was also supplemented (without asking) with another bottle, leading to a bill of €52. Ridiculous. Unless of course you moor with a sloop from Amsterdam.

Great food and great service! Too bad the terrace was closed because it looks very cozy.

Beautiful restaurant in an idyllic location. You can sit on a terrace, right by the water, or in the tastefully furnished guest room. The best way to get there is by bike or boat (the restaurant has its own pier!). The food is fantastic! Original but not pretentious. The ingredients are of the highest quality. The wine list is very extensive. The staff is friendly, unobtrusive and competent. One of our favorite restaurants in Amsterdam.

What a great spot, service and food - I celebrated my 50th birthday, here and the service was excellent both during the evening and before, the food outstanding, complements from all of my group, wine was perfectly paired. I real special memory, could not thank the team at De Mark enough, book in advance, enjoy the experience and ignore the other reviews, if life gives you lemons make lemonade !

Terrace reserved. Enough space inside, but there is no service there. Whether we want to wait along the street until one of the benches on the facade becomes available. Only English speaking staff. Not a good reception and certainly not hospitable.

It all looks very tasteful, but unfortunately it mainly employs young, clumsy teenagers who, after waiting 20 minutes and asking questions, place a wine list on the table and in passing say that lunch time is over. After an expensive beer and a delicious bitterbal for €2 each, we left and never came back

Tijdens een wandeling langs de Mark gekomen. Zag er erg gezellig uit dus we wilden wat drinken op het terras buiten! Dat kon niet, alleen als je wilde lunchen, dus dat maar gedaan. Attente bediening die je meteen water aanbood en het was warm dus gedaan. Prima, echter later kwamen we er achter dat het 4 euro per persoon was, en dat voor kraanwater! Ze hebben een kleine lunch kaart die hetzelfde is als de diner kaart. Op zich maakt dat niet uit maar niet iedereen wil natuurlijk uitgebreid lunchen. De gerechten die wij namen waren op zich erg goed met weer attente service en uitleg wat je op je bord kreeg, echt smakelijk maar wel weinig en erg duur. Alle hoofdgerechten zijn 30+ euro en bijgerechten moet je apart bestellen. Dan de wijn! Er is een erg uitgebreide wijnkaart maar ook hier weer waren de prijzen buitenproportioneel! Maar er waren gelukkig ook een klein aantal wijnen die je per glas kon bestellen en die waren iets van 7 tot 15 euro, en dat is redelijk zeker gezien de prijzen van een fles en toch wel prima service, dus daar maar een keuze in gemaakt! Dat ze “goedkoop” waren snapten we toen ze het inschonken. We kregen de hoeveelheid van een likeurtje en dan haal je makkelijk 20 glazen uit een fles Afsluitend, fantastische locatie met prima bediening en het eten is ook echt goed en smakelijk. Daar MARKeert niets aan. Maar zulke hoge prijzen voor zulke kleine porties is het gewoon niet waard. Ik snap dat ze voor kwaliteit gaan en dat ze een bepaald soort publiek willen hebben (mensen met echt veel geld) maar vraag mij af of ze dan op de juiste plek zitten waarbij ze in de zomer nog wel klanten zullen trekken maar ik betwijfel of ze dat ook in de winter doen en of ze een vaste klantenkring zullen krijgen!

We loved the food and the service

This charming restaurant is located just outside the city, technically still within Amsterdam, in the quaint and picturesque old village of Doordergam. There is a convenient parking lot behind the restaurant. To reach it, drive through the village, cross the bridge, and you'll find the parking lot at the end of the road. For our dinner, we shared a generously portioned roast pork chop, perfect for two. We started with appetizers, including asparagus with poached egg and mushroom pate, which were both delightful. For dessert, we enjoyed a delicious frangipane with cherries. *Highlights:* - The asparagus with poached egg was a standout favorite. - The garden butter with sourdough was excellent. While the pork chop was perfectly cooked, its lack of fat content made it less tender than expected. The service was lovely, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience.

Upon arrival we were impressed by the beautiful location of the restaurant. Unfortunately, it soon became apparent that the price-quality ratio was poor and the service left much to be desired. From the moment we sat down we had to continuously ask for attention from the staff. Even though there were four staff members standing around doing nothing, they seemed to dodge all attempts to order anything. It took all of 22 minutes before we got our first glass of wine, and to our surprise the tea was served in a coffee cup with loose leaves in it, without entourage which made it very impractical to drink and seemed unprofessional. The cups and water glasses also all had chips missing from the top edge. The food itself was good, but the price we paid was completely out of proportion to the quantity, quality and service we received. At the end of our visit we were told that the restaurant was overbooked. If you are overbooked, it is a good idea to report this before the guests take their seats and, for example, offer them a drink or sandwich on the house. Don't make your problem the guest's problem, especially if they pay a lot for their visit. All in all, our experience was very disappointing and we do not recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately, the beautiful decor cannot make up for the poor service and poor value for money.

Drank coffee. On wooden benches for restaurant. Amazing view. The lady next to me said that we had to eat on the terrace across the street, down by the water. So don't drink coffee. It took a very long time before we could order the coffee and the table was cleared of the previous coffee drinkers. In my opinion, the company was not even half occupied and there were a lot of staff. It also took a long time for the coffee to arrive. In the meantime, I curiously looked at the map that was on the other side of the entrance terrace. That turned out to be a very dangerous point... A deep step and no handles or grips that people might really need there, especially because you are immediately on the road. Coffee was tasty but served in a mug that was broken and sharp. Furthermore, a cake that was no longer fresh was also served in a broken jar. I was able to pay quickly..... €9 for 2 coffees in broken crockery.....

Great food, great location, decent service There was one bit that we did not like. We had asked for tap water and when the bill arrived we were charged 8 Euros for water. This did not make any sense to us since this wasnt a packaged water bottle, it was just tap water. The water was served to us in a common glass bottle that did not have a lid or anything. After a nice meal, this left us very disappointed

For a complete change in tempo, we escaped the city to De Mark at Durgerdam, a short hop by bicycle. Welcoming, comfortable and cosy atmosphere overlooking the waterfront. Great service, staff and guests alike enjoying the mood. Food was great, oysters of course, crab salad, and superb pork chop marinated and grilled on the wood fire. All locally sourced ingredients with deep flavour and tastes respectfully prepared by the chefs team. Excellent wine cellar for all tastes and budgets too. De Mark have rooms too which if anything like the food, would be worth a stay. We will be back, with friends..

Fantastic little hideaway just minutes away from downtown Amsterdam. Food is fresh, regional and delicious. Fun and tasty cocktails as well as a solid wine list to pair with, including non-alcoholic alternatives. Space and atmosphere is the shining star here, just so calm, secluded, and warm. Service is friendly, attentive, albeit slow at times. Hopefully you come during a non-windy/wet day and can fully enjoy the dock! Definitely worth checking out solo, couple, friends, family, for dinner, for lunch and any day of the week. its just very nice.

Lukewarm espresso and flat white, that really has to be better for that price. No coffee milk either, but add some cold milk yourself. Shame on you!

Just a real treasure just outside of amsterdam. The food was very original but pure. Good ingredients simply but very well prepared.

Unique place with terrace on the water and a beautiful building and decor. Food and wine pairings were great. Expert and friendly staff. When we went, the weather wasn't nice enough for the terrace but the atmosphere inside made up for that. We'd like to dine on the terrace next time!

No idea what it tastes like. Too bad that you are not welcome for a beer and orange juice on Sundays if you have not made a reservation. I wanted to take my drink outside and pay immediately, but that was really not possible either. No, then they have to help everyone. I don't get it, isn't that the intention?

Fantastic food, but the service is terribly bad! The English boy who pretended to be a sommelier really didn't know anything about it! And if you order a nice bottle (over €200!), I expect a little more skill.

Gorgeously designed restaurant with seating places at the table or at the bar. The food was of amazing quality and every single dish had a little unexpected edge, making it special and unique. The staff makes the evening complete with their enthusiasm, love for the food and wine they serve, and friendly nature. Highly recommend!

We had lunch at De Mark for my mother's birthday. Amazing atmosphere, we sat down at the lakeside terrace. The food was amazing, everything about it was special; from the local ingredients to the composition of the dishes. All the staff members were experienced and super hospitable. We will come back here for sure!

What a shame this is. A restaurant that tries very hard to be interesting but really isn't. A total mismatch to open such a fancy restaurant at this location, on the dike in Durgerdam. We had to pay 20 euros per person to make a reservation, which would be deducted from the bill afterwards. That settlement was forgotten and when I pointed it out it could not be corrected. It was promised that it would be transferred immediately the next day. However, that did not happen and when I sent an email about this, I was simply asked to send the receipt first to prove that I was right. It's a shame that what used to be such a pleasant place for all those walkers and cyclists who pass by here has been destroyed.

Recommend highly! Excellent restaurant, great food and service. We will be back.....

The most passionate young cooks in Amsterdam with great service and wine. Wonderful location at the Marker lake while being close to the city center of Amsterdam. I am an avid traveler and this restaurant is my favorite now at home in Amsterdam.

Lets be clear, this is simply amazing. The food will blow your mind and the staff is lovely, energetic, kind and young minded. Treat yourself, you will not regret it.

Last weekend I sat on the terrace on the street side. Took a very long time for service to arrive. Other people who were there even left. Only drank 2 glasses of Chardonnay, bill was 12 euros!! A ridiculous amount for 2 glasses of wine.

People will often write - "the best restuarant in amsterdam" or such - but this really is. The decor is gorgeous, the food impeccable, the wine list is what I dream of and I love the fact that its a little "away" it makes it all the more special. You can't give a place 6 stars - but I would.

Great location and entourage: nice drinks, dinner, sleep and breakfast in the boutique hotel. We liked the food, but too spicy/salty. Overall, we think the prices are too high for the quality of the food delivered, but you pay for the special place and atmosphere. That's great. Non-alcoholic drinks menu could be expanded! (Types of beers etc)

The best restaurant in Amsterdam and its surroundings! Incredible atmosphere of an authentic house with a beautiful view of the lake. It was interesting to try everything on the menu, because the flavors were amazing. Pleasant service and friendly staff! Everything in this place is amazing! I recommend!
