Beautiful view, incredibly delicious food, and friendly service. A very nice experience!

We came to celebrate something, and it was a very pleasant restaurant experience. We sat outside on the deck, where the atmosphere was very good. There was a cozy and quiet atmosphere. The tables are not too close together, the volume of the music was just right, even next to the speakers, and the music selection was also pleasant. No music with heavy bass like in many restaurants these days. The service was very friendly and service-oriented, but not overly so that I would feel uncomfortable. It is a beautiful place near Amsterdam. The food was sublime; the flavors were intense in a good way, and you could taste that a lot of attention and love went into it. In short, the perfect place if you want to celebrate something special with loved ones! Parking can be a hassle, but I asked a staff member if we could park at the football club (with a barrier), and they were very helpful then too.

This was my 4th or 5th visit to this restaurant, and this time I came for my birthday. I was really hoping for dinner on the water, but unfortunately the weather wasn’t quite good enough and that’s obviously not something the restaurant can control. I keep coming back because I love the atmosphere and genuinely enjoy the food, and yesterday was no different. That said, I have to mention something that has bothered me on pretty much every visit: the lack of variety for people who don’t eat meat (the reason I’ve decided to give it 4 not 5 stars).While my partner can order new dishes every time, I’m often left choosing between dishes I’ve already tried and known for years. I regularly check the menu hoping that a new season will bring some new options, but unfortunately there is very little change in that area. It’s not that the food isn’t tasty. It is! but it would be great to see more variety. I might even visit more often because of it. Apart from that, everything was great. A special plus for yesterday’s service. The guy looking after our table really knew what he was doing. Attentive without being overbearing, genuinely involved in helping us put together the menu, and great at making conversation without resorting to the standard “smaakt het?” you hear in so many Dutch restaurants. All in all, I had a good evening and hopefully next time the weather will cooperate too! :)

Beautiful location, correct service, but price-quality could be better Yesterday, the two of us dined at De Mark in Durgerdam. The location is definitely a plus. Especially when sitting outside on the deck, you can enjoy the stunning view over the water. Although you should be aware that it is certainly not mosquito-free. Nevertheless, a beautiful place for a quiet meal. The service is friendly, attentive, and very correct. We do consider the limited choice on the menu to be a point of concern. Additionally, we were particularly disappointed by the ratio between the price of the dishes and the quantity you get for them. For the prices charged, we found the portions to be on the small side. That does detract from the overall experience. All in all, I personally give De Mark a passing grade, partly thanks to the beautiful location and the good service. But when we go out to eat again, this would not immediately be our first choice. For us, the price-quality ratio could be a bit better balanced.

We cycled all the way from Amsterdam to enjoy the scenery and stopped at the hotel restaurant to buy something to drink at the bar. They even refused to give us a glass of water. Very disappointing service — thumbs down. 👎🤯

What a beautiful location. Restaurant De Mark in Durgerdam is highly recommended. The location by the water is amazing, as is the beautiful art collection inside. The food is truly top-notch: delicious, pure dishes with great attention to taste and presentation. The service is also very pleasant: friendly, professional, and nicely personal, without feeling overdone. Actually, everything is just right here: the location, the atmosphere, the food, and the hospitality. A place where you not only eat well but also simply have a pleasant lunch. We will definitely be back here again!

The food was top-notch, the service was superb, and Adrien in particular did a great job! It's a shame we couldn't sit on the terrace even though the sun was shining.

This is my third time already, arriving by electric sloop from Amsterdam and then docking ‘coolly’ at the jetty. A special location, without a doubt. A very refined and creative menu with fine wines. And above all, welcoming service and pleasantly informal yet professional. I haven't had enough of dining here yet.

My husband and I dined at your restaurant for the first time yesterday and had a fantastic evening. The food was sublime and the setting on the jetty was spectacular. Dining practically *on* the water, with a view of the boats and the moon slowly rising, is a rare experience. We found the staff to be warm, attentive, and hospitable. One small point that struck me during our visit was that we were addressed in English. We understand that the hospitality industry faces major challenges in finding staff. Nevertheless, it felt just a little different because of this, as Durgerdam is a familiar place to me. I was born and raised in Amsterdam North, and the surrounding villages are part of where I come from. That is why language contributes to the feeling of recognition and coming home for me. It is just a detail on an otherwise wonderful evening. However, I would like to mention it, because for my experience, it could have added just that extra bit of connection. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and would love to come back again.

Scandalous. Rarely have I experienced such an unwelcoming reception. Yesterday, Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 PM, we sailed our sloop specifically from Prinseneiland to De Mark. Our plan: to have a nice early dinner or a drink with some snacks. We were literally not allowed to sit anywhere. Not on the terrace. Not inside. Not even on half of a completely empty bench. That had to remain free for any hotel guests who might still arrive. The most bizarre part? The restaurant inside was EMPTY. Plenty of tables, but apparently no desire whatsoever to welcome guests who are actually standing right in front of you wanting something to eat and drink. Potential hotel guests who might still arrive were apparently more important than the guests who were already there. You sail specifically to a hospitality establishment, arrive at 4:45 PM, want to eat and drink, and are subsequently treated as if you absolutely shouldn't come inside. So we just got back into our sloop and sailed on to Nieuwendam. Fortunately, because we had a delicious meal at ’t Sluisje afterwards: cozy, full of atmosphere and buzz, and above all, the feeling that you are welcome. Exactly how hospitality should be! A world of difference. A beautiful location alone does not make a good restaurant. Hospitality does. What an arrogant and disappointing reception at De Mark. For us: NEVER AGAIN.

At 10:45 we asked if we could have a cup of coffee with a slightly larger group. We were literally bitched away because they were not (yet) setting the tables for lunch. We only wanted to have one cup of coffee. Half an hour at most. But it was all too much. Particularly inhospitable, unfriendly, and haughty staff!

Very beautiful location, refined dishes and local ingredients

As a visitor, you are not allowed to have a cup of coffee here on the terrace by the water (which was still empty) nor by the dike (there were still 2 tables free). It is only for hotel guests, even though they promote that you can get a cup of coffee. We were allowed to sit inside, but it was 30+ degrees, so that doesn't seem right to me.

the food was great, however we wanted to sit nearer the window so me and my boyfriend were sitting next to each other in the sofa seat and we were told it was only for 4 people and then about 30 mins later a couple sat at that table and weren’t told to move.. also felt like our server wasn’t super friendly, and also we got charged for water per person even though it was one jug

After a long run with my dog around the area I found this place - asked for a table for 1 and the waiter looked at us quite dismissive and told us they were about to close. Kept my hike and on my return 30 minutes after they were still open and serving.

We were here last Tuesday for our wedding anniversary. It was a fantastic summer evening, with delicious food and very friendly staff. The sparkling wine was also very tasty. The view was so lovely and beautiful. If I have to mention a minor downside, it is that they ask you to indicate in the email if there is a special occasion, but then do nothing with it once you have filled it in. We didn't really care, though, because it was a great evening.

Beautiful place with amazing food. The staff is very friendly and on top of everything without being annoying. Everything is taken care of down to the last detail and every detail has been thought through. The place is very clean, as are the toilets. The dishes are unique, allowing you to try new flavor combinations. They have a lovely terrace by the water, which was really nice on this sunny day. I will definitely come back here again.

We had a very lovely experience here. We came for lunch on a beautiful day and were able to sit outside on the terrace, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We chose the four-course lunch menu, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The waiter and the rest of the staff were all very friendly, polite, and welcoming throughout our visit. The atmosphere inside is also beautiful, very cozy and stylish. The only small heads-up I would mention is that after finishing the main course, it took quite a while before our table was cleared and we could order dessert. We felt a little forgotten during that moment, as it took about an hour. However, aside from that, everything else was wonderful. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience, would definitely recommend this restaurant, and would happily come back again.

The food was fine, but nothing special. The price-quality ratio leaves much to be desired. The service was not commensurate with the price paid. It is a lovely place to sit, but I would not go back for this price.

Upon entering, we were not spoken to or looked at. We were given the so-called ‘looked down upon’. After well over fifteen minutes, we left again. I am overworked myself, so I understand what it is like to have to be ‘hospitable’ against your will.

Excellent cuisine that introduced us to a taste of Dutch cooking. The dishes are sophisticated and refined, and the wine list is superb! The service and intimate atmosphere complete the experience, not to mention the setting, which completely charmed us. If you're looking for a peaceful break during your stay in Amsterdam, I highly recommend it.

A very special place: food is very elaborate without being stuffy and most importantly allround very delicious. The interior is impressive, with handcrafted pieces and designed with a serious eye for detail. What a luxury to have this so close by the city - talking about a “quick getaway”!

What a top-notch place!! The authentic atmosphere with a modern twist is fantastic. The food is exceptionally tasty and flavorful. We had a delicious meal at this intimate restaurant in beautiful Durgerdam, with a lovely view over the IJmeer. The service was very friendly, and the open kitchen offered a nice glimpse into the passion behind the dishes. Everything was perfect: the food, the wines, and the atmosphere. Together with my wife and father, I thoroughly enjoyed a special evening.

We only had coffee. We couldn't order anything else; they were busy preparing breakfast for guests (10:30).

Wow. Wow. Wow. Although it was a windy and rainy evening, we thoroughly enjoyed De Mark. Friendly welcome, nice table, and a truly gorgeous interior. I want that sink in the restrooms at home!! The food was delicious, every bite spot-on, and a beautiful whole. The staff was very friendly and competent, providing just the right amount of personal attention without becoming annoying. A restaurant with a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere, the staff is incredibly attentive. Beautifully decorated with soft lighting, we loved it. The food is delicious and flavorful, with interesting combinations, especially in the desserts. A good wine list and excellent cocktails. A magical setting; I imagine the outdoor area on the pier in summer must be lovely too! Highly recommended.

What I appreciated most is that you can choose each dish à la carte for the menu. The service was very attentive and took the time to explain the recipes and preparation of the dishes. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, and the quality of the food is excellent. Every course offers an amazing combination of flavour and creativity, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the wines we chose with the menu complemented everything perfectly. Excellent, high-end restaurant attached to a very nice, boutique hotel a short drive or bike ride from Amsterdam. Very hospitable team, great food and atmosphere. Recommend that couples or small groups consider dining at the bar to enjoy views of the kitchen and chats with the team. Four course green chef’s menu is great option for vegetarians (and anyone open to plant-forward dining).

We had such a great time for our Valentine's lunch! First the surroundings are absolutely lovely, and super quiet. Then the inside, cozy atmosphere, with a curated look. Great selection of drinks, with a 800+ wines section. We really appreciated the staff's advices on this. With a 4 courses menu, we got to taste every starters by sharing, shout out to the tomato tartare! Everything from the bread to the dessert was delicious, and the portions were generous. The service was on spot, discret and mindful. Cannot wait to come back in summer to enjoy the terrace, sitting on the water!

The overall picture was perfect. I forgot to take more and better pictures. But… The service was fantastic! Hats off! The food was delicious. My appetizer recommendation is the tomato tartare. Nice place, but paying over €30 for an omelet is a bit much for me. The coffee is also ridiculously expensive. €25 for a small bowl of yogurt, come on, guys!!! 😭 It can be delicious, but you still feel pretty ripped off.

We would like to start by saying that we truly enjoyed our meal at De Mark Restaurant. The food was delicious, and overall the quality of the dishes met our expectations. However, we were very disappointed by the way the gift voucher was handled, which unfortunately affected our experience. The voucher included a bottle of wine and two cocktails , but instead of using this, we ordered six small glasses of bubble wine instead, We were not informed in advance that this would result in an additional charge. What made the situation particularly uncomfortable was the way it was communicated to us at the end of the meal. The young, inexperienced waiter told us we had to pay an extra €19. This was handled in an unprofessional manner and did not feel like the right way to treat guests, especially after an otherwise enjoyable dining experience. We believe this situation could have been avoided with clearer communication and a more considerate approach. We hope you take this feedback on board, as the food itself was excellent and we would like future visits to reflect the same level of quality in service.

I ate at De Mark with some anticipation. The atmosphere is rustic, but the chairs aren't particularly comfortable. The menu is a bit crumpled, hmm. After a while, my legs also started to feel cold. At the start, they offered both still and sparkling water. They seemed thoughtful, but they didn't mention that this tap water would later be charged at €4 per bottle. Sneaky. Don't be surprised if you pay €10/€15 for a half-full wine glass; it couldn't be cheaper. Our wine, which was supposedly not poured from a single bottle, was a slightly expired wine topped with a fresher, more sparkling one. Hmm, that for €15 per glass, not good. The service was friendly and reasonably quick. The food, for me, wasn't what I expected. Ultimately, it's a restaurant with pretensions they don't live up to. As a guest, they'll just shake you dry before your very eyes. That leaves a rather unpleasant aftertaste.

One word: amazing! The staff, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere were all outstanding. I especially liked the very well choosen wine pairing with the food. It took everything to a higher level!

We happened to stumble upon this place for lunch. We were welcomed even without a reservation; they briefly showed us the menu to manage expectations. This isn't a place to grab a sandwich for lunch. Cozy interior, friendly and attentive service with a good understanding of etiquette. Adventurous dishes on the menu with little emphasis on meat or fish. We had a great meal here, and will definitely be back for dinner.

Best location…Right at the peir…Restaurant extends the lake side patio. Food is delicious, served fresh and warm. The staff at the restaurant is very generous and they are able to accommodate special requests….. Reservations recommended but usually restaurant is able to accommodate walk-ins ….

The best restaurant in Amsterdam. I was here again after a few months and they there is only high quality gastronomy and service. Exceptional place and exceptional accommodation. I recommend to all clients and friends 👌

Romantic. - We tried the full course menu and loved it! Tip: if you’re dining with two people, pick different dishes of the full course menu and share, this way you’ll get to taste even more. - The staff was knowledgeable and fun. They could handle my brother and all of his “dad jokes”. Thank you team! 🙏😂 - You can enjoy it on a Monday too! Finding spaces that truly stand out that are also open on Sunday or Monday isn’t easy… but this one? Recommended. Historically, it was once a fishing village. Such a beautiful place! A favorite of the menu was the confit Dutch vine tomato tartare. 🍅 Not easy to get here if you don’t have a car, but 100% worth the trip. Important: park your car BEFORE you enter Durgerdam. Inside this small village it’s parking for residents only.

Had a wonderful experience here last week! Food, atmosphere and service was lovely. Highly recommend swinging by here if you are visiting Amsterdam or the surrounding area. Our server was lovely - forgot his name but he was from the states and was so kind and attentive, as were the chef's who took the time to explain all of the courses. 10/10!

What wonderful, hospitable people work here! I didn't eat there, but it all looked delicious. I had to be on the water for a film shoot until dark, and because of the heavy rain, I arrived soaked at the jetty, standing a bit lost on the dike. I was beckoned inside and allowed to take off my "not so waterproof" wetsuit. Soaked to my socks, the hallway was completely wet. No problem at all. Everyone was incredibly friendly. They even came to ask if I needed help. After changing, I went to the restroom. That's an experience in itself. Just go here if you want genuinely friendly people around you. The restaurant itself is at least as beautiful as the people who work there.

We had a wonderful meal at De Mark. We sat comfortably at the bar and were well-served by the friendly staff. We were incredibly impressed with the delicious dishes, including some lovely, surprising vegetarian options! We'll definitely be back.

All I can say is tomato tartare. You must! Truly exceptional flavors. I had both dinner and breakfast here. For dinner, I had the wild shot duck, tomato tartare, celeriac special, pasta, and dessert. The staff guided us through the wine selection & we ended up with an amazing bottle. Could not have been happier. The breakfast spread was my favorite. The table side scrambled eggs were divine. We started with a cup of fresh fruit, and you could really taste the local quality. Overall 10/10 across the board. Will definitely return.

Wow, exceptional! I am extremely happy to have found this hidden gem. The surroundings are amazing, and I cannot wait to be back on a warm day to be able to enjoy the terrace. The food is of high quality in terms of products but also technique. Each bite felt like a hug. The service was impeccable and felt like I was at a michelin star awarded restaurant (only cheaper in price 😉). I highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing great night full of flavorful food, and great wine.

A special restaurant & boutique hotel a short drive from Amsterdam in the charming seaside village of Durgedam. The restaurant has an open kitchen, where the team cooks over an open fire. Superb menu, à la carte as well as set menu & extensive wine list. The multinational team is helpful & attentive. Service with style. A crackling fireplace creates warmth & a sense of homely hospitality with sophistication.

We had a wonderful meal and there were delicious (and plentiful) wines on the menu! The radishes as an appetizer were surprisingly good! And the tomato tartare and mushroom fillet steak as a main course are definitely recommended! 😋 Great service and a cozy atmosphere!

In picturesque Durgerdam (which is worth a walk/bike/drive through anyway) lies the charming Restaurant The Mark. In good weather, they have a very pleasant waterfront terrace, which only enhances the ambiance. On the day of our visit, the terrace wasn't open due to changeable weather. If you make a reservation, the staff will automatically seat you inside or outside, depending on the weather. Convenient! The interior is beautifully decorated with an authentic feel. The service is very friendly and helpful, contributing to the generous 5-star rating. You choose a menu or à la carte and then sit back and enjoy. Delicious dishes. Highly recommended!

Dinner was fine. No attention was paid to our birthday daughter. The appetizer arrived before we received the oysters. At these prices, you expect perfection.

We had a wonderful meal in a beautiful location. Chef Koen and his team created a fantastic array of dishes. Our favorites: crayfish, cod, and beetroot. So delicious that we didn't miss the meat for a moment. The young Swedish sommelier paired it with excellent wines. A fantastic experience!

We enjoyed a warm summer evening here this week. Simply put, fantastic! The location is beautiful, the food was delicious (high quality, surprising flavor combinations), and the service was attentive and welcoming. It's a young team, and the staff really care about their guests. We found that very pleasant. Hats off!

We came here for drinks on a nice sunny day tosay. The waiter said they don’t serve aperol (although we had before) nor beer (a table next to where we were were having beers). When we asked for a place to sit, even inside, she said she will ask her manager, then came back and said it was full. The place was only 20% occupied. Still not sure why we were discriminated and not accepted there. A lot of tables were having drinks only also.

De Mark is a beautifully situated restaurant with a lovely terrace and an excellent interior. Unfortunately, they make far too many mistakes for a restaurant in this price range (€100+ per person). We were here in July 2025. This is the list of things that ultimately disappointed us about this visit. 1. We sat at the front of the restaurant with a beautiful view. The doors were open, and the flies were also very pleasant. It wasn't just one fly, but at least seven flies that constantly flew around us, sitting on us or being visible. 2. The staff was clearly inexperienced, which is more like the average Amsterdam terrace staff: not alert enough, a bit too casual, and not knowledgeable about the dishes, wines, and ingredients. 3. The dishes weren't tailored to the summer season. A creative appetizer we had previously had there in the winter was still on the menu. We ordered it, but it was actually much too heavy for this season. 4. My wife ordered a sole, which was €30 extra on top of the €65 menu, I think. So we paid just under €100 for a simple three-course meal. That's acceptable, but the quality of the ingredients and the taste were average, at best. 5. I ordered a cod, which was far too salty and served with little imagination in terms of sauce or vegetables. Perfect for a pub. I'm sorry I don't have any better news. I sincerely hope the Mark reaches the level it should be, considering the price, interior, and location. But unfortunately, they've missed the mark.

Although we were not properly dressed for the occasion (we were walking a long-distance-path) we were welcome for lunch at De Mark. We ordered a 3-couse-menu and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious; this is a real taste experience. It it's a bit more expensive than a usual lunch but it was worth every €. I expected a bit more chique restaurant but that is not the case; our table didn't had any linnen on the table and we sat on wooden chairs but to be honest: we love the informal atmosphere together with haute cuisine food. The staff was very friendly (mostly foreign language speaking people), the explanation of the dishes served could be a bit louder. Please note that they don't serve lunch on the terrace so always book a table inside.

Nice property, tasty food, cozy setting, but very unbalanced in terms of service/price ratio, confusing set menu, no a la carte options for breakfast :(

What an amazing experience! The bike ride from Amsterdam to the restaurant was already a highlight, but arriving at the space itself was even better. The interior is the perfect mix of chic and cozy. We sat at the bar (those bar chairs are incredible!) and had the chance to watch the chefs in action at the open kitchen – such a treat. The service was outstanding; everyone we spoke to was so natural and welcoming. They took the time to let us taste wines and shared background stories about the ingredients. The pier and terrace are offering a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy. It’s truly a unique experience that combines great food, warm hospitality, and a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Restaurant with terrace to water. But it was closed as it is after lunch time. We weren’t turned down. Sat on the road side, table is not clean, no chocomelk. No redbull. We had alcohol free beer, but damn! It is super expensive, €6.5 for an alcohol free beer from a bottle!!! Not normal, not even paying that in waldorf astoria! Not worth it. Also, parking is local only, both car parking and bike parking is totally full.

Tijdens fietsen met fietsvriend willen we koffiedrinken en stukje appeltaart eten op bankje voor deze uitspanning. Engels sprekende ober zegt dat er wel gereserveerd is later. Wij zeggen we zijn zo weg naar koffie en taart. Maar dat hebben ze niet appeltaart blijkt en geen andere taart en ook geen cake…” we zijn een restaurant en hebben alleen desserts”…blijkbaar geen appeltaart dan als dessert..vervolgens dan alleen koffie zwart en cappuccino besteld….paar minuten later komt collega ober langs om te zeggen dat er gereserveerd is om 16.00…zijn collega heeft foutje gemaakt en onze orde opgenomen…het is dan 15.35…wij zeggen ga dan koffie maken zodat wij koffie kunnen drinken en dan springen we gauw weer op de fiets hoor… koffie komt uiteindelijk voor fraai afgeronde prijs (Durgerdam!) van 10€…alsof we op het San Marco plein zitten…kortom belachelijk restaurant en dito obers…als je fietst en door Durgerdam komt gewoon doorfietsen…

We ordered two cappuccinos, which were served in small cups and lacked flavor. We had to pay €11 and was actually surprised at the small cup of coffee for that price. Sugar cubes in a small cup, which wasn't very hygienic. It was a shame it was a nice place, but the prices were out of proportion.
