Delicious lunch! Egg salad sandwich with shredded salmon is definitely recommended! The service was cheerful and attentive. The atmosphere was good, the place was completely full. So make a reservation in advance..

Delicious food in a good atmosphere.

Very nice - we arrived just before opening time and it was noticeable that there were already a few groups of people. The location is great, the atmosphere is cozy and cozy (a bit dark on a gray day), and the service is quick and attentive. The food was excellent - we would love to come back here!

Enjoyed a cofeee after a long hike the place was fully packed and we enjoyed it. Coffee was not cheap and they even announced a price rais into 2025. Nevertheless the piace was packed as fore-mentioned. I enjoyed the accomodation. They offer free Wi-Fi as the cell service is really bad there. The menu also looked good, but we did not take anything from it.

Cozy, hospitable place to refuel after a long walk. The dog is also welcome, so definitely worth repeating.

Was quite busy on Friday afternoon but luckily there was still a table available, we had a nice meal, we were completely full for the rest of the day, we will definitely come back again

Delicious food! Not much to complain about, maybe exchange the olives for fresh "more normal" olives.

Unexpectedly settled here after a lovely walk, we arrived well before lunch which turned out to be well timed. It is super busy here, going there on spec may mean you have to wait or have to go somewhere else. Reservations are therefore good advice. Our lunch was a '12 o'clock'. And we enjoyed that, the soup was very tasty and we made the Russian salad ourselves. Be prepared that dogs are allowed inside, no problem for us, but others may find that annoying.

The atmosphere is good. The coffee is tasty. The vegetarian menu is limited, no options for vegans.

Looks like a nice place, but especially for lunch. We sometimes come there for a drink, but wanted to have a nice dinner sometime. Something went wrong with the starter, which can happen, but the employee who brought it was nasty about the recorder. When the desert arrived, someone also wanted a scoop of ice cream because it looked so tasty (just a scoop in a glass) but that was no longer possible because the cleaning had already been done (9:00 PM)? We had the strong feeling that we were being looked away and for a quite hefty bill we didn't think that was nice.

Been twice recently. The atmosphere on the terrace and inside is cozy. The food is okay, but not very special. Not happy with the main course the last time. The pork tenderloin seemed like "culinary" pork tenderloin and the bacon surrounding it was strongly smoked, neither taste made me happy. It would be nice if there was smoked bacon on the menu, because this was the predominant flavor (never tasted this strong in a dish before). Better luck next time, because it is a nice location to spend some time.

Tonight I had dinner at De Meidoorn again with my wife. What a party that is! Enjoyed the delicious Chateaubriand. With fantastic side dishes, such as grilled celeriac, potato wedges and a delicious strofanoff sauce. Truly every bite was a taste sensation! And the service is really great, nothing is too much. Treat yourself after a walk in the woods with a visit to restaurant De Meidoorn. Enjoy a homemade mustard soup on the terrace in the lovely October sun. Man man man... What a delicacy. With delicious pieces of brie. You don't have to worry about the price. The service is extremely friendly with an accurate Rotterdam twist. Just smoothly and without excessive fuss. Lots of goodies on the menu and a delicious Texel trippel. Highly recommended in the middle of the Rockanje nature reserve...

Heerlijk in de herfstzon genoten van het Texels proeverijtje. Mooie smaken lekker broodje en zeer vriendelijke bediening ook al was het zeer druk. Aanrader.

Met familie ( die hier vaker komen ) uit eten geweest . Midden in de mooie natuur ligt dit uiterst sfeervolle restaurant . Bediening was top en het eten was overheerlijk 😀 een aanrader en dikke 5 punten waard 😀

I faced discrimination. The waiter and another employee kicked me out. I speak Dutch poorly and ordered incorrectly. I thought the meat would be warm. But the waiter brought me a salad with cold meat charged me 20 euros and I didn't touch the salad. I'm now afraid to visit other cafes. I had to turn to a psychologist to deal with this trauma of discrimination.

Settled here after a walk in the beautiful surroundings. Service was friendly and we enjoyed the side dishes. The terrace is easily accessible for wheelchairs, as is the surrounding area, including the children's information center and the walking paths.

It seems like Restaurant De Meidoorn is getting better and better. Or has it always been this good. Everything is correct. The atmosphere, the menu, the flavors and the quality. Butcher Kees is the right meat supplier. And everything is just delicious, fun and new. The daily menus are always surprising. But, don't gamble. It is wise to make a reservation.

Nice restaurant. Stylishly furnished, creates high expectations. Service surprised us with a whole bunch of dishes of the day, even though we had indicated that we wanted a simple lunch. 2x 12 o'clock came without cutlery. It was because it was so quiet, said the man who helped us??? Too busy I understood. But I thought it was a strange argument! When I asked if the ham under the egg could be replaced with bacon I received a curt no!! It's on the map: we don't adjust anything. Could you get cheese? Special. The promised Tuscan brown sandwich turned out to be a small brown sandwich with an even more pathetic fried egg. Soup was tasty and you can't go wrong with a croquette, although mustard would make more sense than truffle mayo. Not bad but not as special as you would think….

Great service, tasty snacks and drinks. Always cosy. We always feel really welcome. It remains a pleasant place. The restaurant is located in the middle of a beautiful nature reserve. On one side the Heveringen and on the other side the Voornse Duinen. Ideal to start a walk from here. Ample parking.

Heerlijk geluncht op gezellig terras in de duinen. Heerlijke broodjes met dito beleg. De soep van garnalen was ook een aanrader!

Op mooie lokatie in bosrijke omgeving gegeten Menu Gamba met salade en frieten ruim voldoende en goed van smaak!! Voor iemand die graag in de natuur is is de Meidoorn bij uitstek een aanrader!! Goede keuken en nette bediening!!

We thought we would have a nice drink and something to eat, but that was quite disappointing. The waiter came with the menu and had a whole story about everything that was on the menu, we just wanted a small snack. When we wanted to order, no one from the waiter looked at us, but there was someone from the waiter who couldn't help us, too busy I think, but she also didn't pass anything on to her colleague. Finally left after the drink!!

Sat on the terrace in the sun and had a drink and a snack. Service was very friendly and orders were always delivered very quickly. Beautiful surroundings, so if you are in the area, definitely worth a stop at the Hawthorn.

Nice varied menu. Something for everyone. Delicious cava. Beautiful decor, spacious seating areas. In short, everything for a successful evening out.

Restaurant ”De Meidoorn” verzorgde weer een weergaloze Kerstavond. Wij zagen: - ruim opgezette tafels en feeëriek geïllumineerde kerstornamenten in het gezellige restaurant. - dat veel geroutineerd personeel beschikbaar was, wat razendsnel - maar zonder zichtbare stress - 75 couverts uitserveerden. - structureel werken tussen keukenbrigade en bedienend personeel; snel en efficiënt. - achter de bar een goochelaar die in hoog tempo cocktails en overige drankjes tevoorschijn toverde. - een zeer deskundige sommelier die per tafel op onderhoudende wijze deskundige lezingen gaf over de gepresenteerde wijnen. - gastvrouwen die razendsnel, vriendelijk en enthousiast hun gasten bedienen. - hoge kwaliteit van de geboden menu’s. Leuke locatie, Binnen is het erg sfeervol. Erg lekker eten, ruime keus. Gezellige bediening

Horeca zoals Horeca behoort te zijn. Personeel welke hun vak verstaan. Goed eten en een fijne sfeer.

Gezellige plek om een hapje te eten. Eten was ok, aan tafel met 7personen wat het ene gerecht super en de ander een beetje karig. Een 12 uurtje kon zeker wat rijker op het bord. Zou er wel nog eens naar toe gaan, ik zou het broodje biefstuk nemen.

Mooie locatie, waar je voor en of na een wandeling in het mooie natuurgebied, overheerlijk kunt eten en of gewoon voor een bakkie koffie/thee. Goede service!

Vandaag hier geluncht. Ik had een broodje rendang. Het stoofvlees was heerlijk zacht maar ik herkende er in de verste verte geen rendang in. Het was meer een broodje stoofvlees met wat gebakken uitjes eroverheen. Verder was het een goed broodje, maar geef het a.u.b. een andere naam.

Heerlijk terras. Vriendelijke bediening en lekker eten. De prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is meer dan prima. Genoeg parkeergelegenheid en een invalide parkeerplaats voor de deur. Hier gaan we nog eens terugkomen.

Het eten is goed. De bediening lijkt moeite te hebben met vriendelijk te zijn. Ook wel jammer dat ze pas om 12:00 uur open gaan. Een kopje koffie met wat lekkers op deze mooie plek, zou zeker scoren.

Gezellig bospaviljoen waar je gezellig kunt lunchen of dineren, maar ook terecht kunt voor thee en warme chocomelk of bitterballen na een boswandeling. Eten is divers en van constante kwaliteit met specials naast de menukaart. Vriendelijk personeel en mooie locatie met voldoende parkeergelegenheid.

Na een boswandeling lekker op het terras gezeten. Soep van de dag Mosterdsoep met stukjes brie. Verrassend lekker. En mijn vrouw vega tomatensoep met pesto room. Ook lekker. Leuke locatie en vriendelijk personeel.

Zunächst als erstes: sehr köstliches ,feines Essen,, ein dickes Lob an die Küche!!! Die Karte bietet eine gute Auswahl verschiedenster besonderer Speisen. Wir haben mehreree verschiedene Hauptgänge und auch Vorspeisen gegessen.. Besonders fein waren ein sehr leckerer ausgefallener Vorspeisenteller und auch das Dessert mit warmen Schokoladenkuchen ist ein wahrer "Gaumenschmauss.":-) Der Kellner, .der uns zwei Abende bediente war ausgesprochen aufmerksam, freundlich (auch zu unserem groten hond , "seinem neuen Freund" ;-) und hilfsbereit beim Übersetzen. Ein herzliches" bedankt "für zwei sehr schöne Abende bei euch !
