A beautiful place to dine, located in the fortified town of Woudrichem. Luckily, Piet was at my table, and he could tell me all about the history of this historic place. The food and service were excellent; everything was perfect.

What a lovely spot just outside the city center. A waterfront terrace with a view of the harbor and historic boats. The interior is also very nice in bad weather. A delicious Eggs Benedict with salmon, and my companion enjoyed an extensive lunch platter of meat (very varied). A glass of Chardonnay and a delicious espresso (vdLaat) with dark chocolate. Marked as a delicious treat. We will definitely be back. Friendly and helpful service. Regards.

Poor, unfriendly service. Staff peer at you from the doorway, knowing you've just arrived and want to order, and simply leave you sitting. Arrogant young women serving. Service is very poor. Food is mediocre. Dirty tables. The surroundings are nice, though.

The food is good and delicious! But the service is truly subpar. I've been several times, and it takes forever for someone to come to my table. For example, after sitting outside for 20 minutes, someone told me the terrace was closed at 1:15 pm on the weekend, while three other couples had already sat in the sunshine. The reason was that it was full inside and they couldn't have had a good overview otherwise. So, good preparation for a sunny weekend day (not so). It's a shame, because the location is great in the harbor, and the food is also very good, but there's still a lot to learn about service and hospitality. Delicious food in a beautiful location!

Too late to serve. We cycled there on spec. Luckily, there was room. It was our last day of vacation, and what better way to end it than at De Stroming. Beautiful view 😍 And a delicious "uitslager" (fried sandwich) from De Stroming.

A particularly suitable location for lunch with a group after a stroll through the old fortified town of Woudrichem. We found ourselves in a plane-tree-clad gazebo, which offered a beautiful view of the outdoor scene. Just as the dishes were about to be served, a brief, heavy rain shower arrived, which the plane trees couldn't entirely block out. However, the service was exceptionally quick and attentive, and we were quickly ushered inside, where the dishes had already arrived. There, we were able to enjoy both the dishes and the lavishly decorated interior with its many eye-catching inscriptions. In my opinion, the Tom Kha Kai soup, priced at €9.50, deserves special mention. A top-notch soup.

Beautiful, atmospheric location with a terrace on the historic harbor. A nice place to relax. I was very disappointed with the cuisine. I expected more. The price-quality ratio is out of balance. Too expensive for an average restaurant. Tom Ka Kai... nothing special and very sparsely garnished. Bisque... not particularly flavorful and very sparsely garnished. Harbor salad... Dill mayonnaise, with its dominant mayonnaise flavor as a dressing on an otherwise dry salad, quickly became unpleasant. This salad was also garnished with a few pieces of smoked eel and salmon, both from a can, and three grilled shrimp. Sea bass (far too salty), accompanied by three pieces of vegetables, didn't impress. We'd rather the eternal fries stay in the kitchen. The service is friendly, but seems chaotic and inexperienced. The place creates the atmosphere. And I give it 5 stars.

Top-notch food in a top-notch location. Excellent seating and service. Not cheap, but the price-performance ratio is right.

Finding a coffee spot at 4 p.m. was difficult. There were many reservations, so all the tables had to be set. The lounge sofa ultimately proved to be an option. The staff were inefficient and certainly not friendly. All the empty tables were still empty when we left. It's a real shame, because it's a truly beautiful place.

We had a wonderful lunch; our own lunch looked beautiful and was delicious. Everything we walked by looked so beautifully presented and delicious. Definitely recommended for a truly enjoyable experience. We'll definitely be back. It was included in the "Happen en trappen" itinerary and was the surprise of the day 🤗😋😎

Six of us had lunch here yesterday. We got a lovely spot in the shade. The menu is very varied, something for everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is friendly. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a wonderful start to our day in Woudrichem. Keep up the good work!

Nice terrace on the water. Service not efficient, probably they forgot about us, because everyone who came later got their food first. When we said something about it, they reacted quite unkindly and no apology was made. I chose the oyster mushroom croquettes on floor bread with truffle mayo and got 1x cheese croquette and 1x oyster mushroom on a regular slice of white bread that was not very fresh and a bag of mustard! 🧐. Strange if you state otherwise on your menu. Too bad!

Today during lunch I had a very disappointing experience at De Stroming in Woudrichem. As a guest with a gluten allergy, money was not discussed and money was discussed directly. We received incorrect, very unfriendly and unclear information about the size of the gluten-free sandwich for a sandwich, so we ordered two sandwiches for an additional charge of €2 each — one turned out to be more than enough. The price for a slice of ham and cheese was therefore €9.50, as you had to pay extra per sandwich. When we mentioned this during the order, the response was unfriendly and there was little understanding. From that moment on, we were no longer looked after: we were not asked if we wanted anything to drink or if everything was to our liking. The conversation felt unpleasant and we felt absolutely unwelcome. The 'loaded fries' with truffle mayonnaise were also very disappointing: you couldn't call it loaded, certainly not worth it for that price. What should have been a pleasant afternoon on the terrace, lunch leading to drinks, ended after an hour due to poor service and customer unfriendliness. Ultimately had to pay almost €80. If, as a company, you indicate that you are thinking about allergies, you must also act accordingly. For us it is not recommended!

A gem in the village of doctor Tinus. Delicious food, delicious tasting starters. Main course delicious and dessert superb. Nice atmosphere, great service, in short, a gem.

Zeer onvriendelijk personeel. Wij wilden gaan lunchen en vroegen om de kaart. De serveerster zei:"je zult geduld moeten hebben want ik ben alleen buiten ". De kaart hebben we nooit gekregen. Toen ik bij het betalen van de drankjes zei dat niet alles naar wens was geweest omdat wij geen menukaart gekregen hadden zei ze dat we dat hadden moeten vragen. Dus eigenlijk was het onze eigen schuld . Hele vreemde manier van omgang met gasten. Tip: brasserie ZUS, zij zijn wel heel vriendelijk!

We dropped in without an appointment. It was already pleasantly busy, but a table for 2 was easily arranged. The menu is not extensive, but there is plenty of choice. The food was on the table quickly and was delicious. This is definitely a place to come back to

Ondanks de prachtige locatie wordt het eten steeds minder . Alles gaat op de automatische piloot, kaart is al lang niet veranderd, de eigenaar boeit het niet , is de gezelligheid himself maar niet heus, maar he altijd volle bak dus wat zou je je druk maken !

Had a high tea in July with a friend, both pregnant. When booking, we stated that she also has a garlic allergy and that we are pregnant. It wasn't necessarily a high tea, more of a 4 course lunch. First we got a sweet platter, then soup, then savory and finally dessert. There was a hair in the soup and it turned out that all soups contained garlic, this had to be explicitly requested, no real alternative was offered. Then it took a very long time for the savory to arrive, about 1.5 hours. Then there were things that were not allowed during pregnancy, but which were allowed according to the owner. After asking, it turned out that they had forgotten us in the kitchen. In the meantime it was really hot on the terrace outside, we couldn't go inside due to lack of staff. The waitress gave us a discount when paying. Unfortunately not a positive experience.

Prachtige lokatie met zicht op haventje . Gereserveerd , tafeltje voor 4 buiten .Leuk. Drank en bestelling diner tamelijk snel . Was nog niet druk Diner : tournedos was een bord met stukje vlees (mals) en snufje groenten. Voor ieder totaal 1 bordje schijffrites. (€33 ) zeer sober . Daarna ruim lang gewacht op bestel mogelijkheid desert ( “ kom zo bij u “) vervolgens na ruim half uur desert na reclameren . Geen excuus ,zeer onvriendelijke man

A nice location on the water of the historic city harbour. Everything on the terrace was reserved and most of the places inside were reserved, but there was still room for us. It was immediately stated that they were not serving lunch or pastries that day, only drinks. Too bad, but okay. Ordered drinks. When we had half finished it, another waitress came to tell us that pastries were possible after all, so we ordered that. Unfortunately, these never reached our table, but they were already on the bill. Our drinks were long gone, so we went again and indicated at checkout that the pastries did not belong on the bill. It's a shame that not enough attention is paid here.

The atmosphere was really nice but they took a long time to bring us our food. My sister found a hair in her food, I let the server know and he just said "Yeah, well, it can happen and they are wearing hair nets anyways" in a condescending tone. When we went to pay the bill at the bar, we saw in the open kitchen that no chef was wearing a hair net ...

Place was cozy. Food took a very long time, and when I was eating I found a hair in my sandwich... The waitress commented to me "well, that can happen, but they do wear hairnets". When I went to pay I looked in the open kitchen and not a single chef had a hairnet on... Great

Beautiful business in a top location that deserves better operators. Treated quite rudely from the start when asking if we could change tables. Perhaps an attempt at humor? Then received the small card, which in itself should not be a problem. Unfortunately at 12 noon and on a Sunday, first table that day, and then some choices from the (already small) menu are no longer in stock. Simply unacceptable. It didn't really matter to us, we went for the two course menu anyway, four times the Dutch shrimp bisque and also four times the turbotine, nice and easy for the chef, and sounded good. Then the announcement that there were only three turbotines left in stock. Once again, we were the first! customers on a Sunday. Well, we won't let such trivialities ruin our rare family gathering. Then for me the tournedos as an alternative. To which my mother says to me, you always want it a little red, don't you? After which I indicate to the manager that I would like my tournedos to be crispy. The turbotine was fine, my tournedos was raw, not saignant, not medium rare, but raw. You could still use it for a steak tartare without any problems. After I had the courage to ask if the tournedos could be baked a little longer, the friendly manager came and told me that I wanted it red, right? Oh yes, the Dutch shrimp bisgue was a canned bisque with leftover smoked salmon from the previous day. I understand that Dutch shrimps are now virtually unaffordable, but don't call it that. Super friendly and knowledgeable service and a wonderful place for a drink and a croquette sandwich, or cheese or something, if they have it, but don't expect anything else.

Lunch met 12 personen tbv verjaardag opa Omdat we met een grote groep (12 personen grote groep?) waren konden we niet uit alle gerechten kiezen. De reden is me tot nu toe nog steeds niet duidelijk; personeel? kosten? Maar uiteindelijk konden we alleen uit de duurdere gerechten kiezen en duurde het 45 minuten voor iedereen zijn gerecht had. Ik had al 2x contact gehad en het had netjes geweest als dit was doorgegeven. We hebben goed gegeten maar we vonden dit een vreemde gang van zaken.

Wij reden een happen en trappen route en waren verlaat, ik had dat de dag ervoor laten weten en het zou geen probleem zijn, maar we werden absoluut niet vriendelijk onthaald, de serveerster zei dat we konden gaan zitten maar dat ze eerst zelf als personeel gingen koffiedrinken, dus we konden wachten. We hebben ons voorgerecht opgegeten en zijn zo snel mogelijk weer vertrokken, wat een ontzettende afknapper!!

What a nice tent!!! I don't understand the complainers. Had a completely different experience. So a positive experience. What came out of the kitchen was fantastic. Atmosphere great. Sweet staff. It was crowded. And we didn't suffer from that. Everyone did his or her best. You can still find mine there. In my opinion and also according to the 3 other people who were there, this is highly recommended. But go see for yourself. Advice: make a reservation. Avoid this disappointment. And when I read that lunch is from so late to so late.... Don't come and poop 10 minutes before the end of lunch time. Some people really don't understand. Anyway. We thought it was fantastic and highly recommended. Ohhh and those appetizers of your choice... Delicious too.

Old-fashioned cozy restaurant. And old-fashioned in a cozy sense! Nice location too. The food was good, the service excellent. Not pushy, food and drinks are delivered quickly. The plates and cutlery are also not standard but have something extra. I normally don't pay attention to that, but I noticed it at this restaurant. We thought it was a great place to stay in this friendly atmosphere. So in that respect we definitely recommend having a bite to eat here!

On Boxing Day we would go out for dinner at De Stroming with a group of 10 people. Due to the high water, the restaurant had to close. They offered to deliver the food, but after some hesitation they decided to do so. And it was so well organised!! Everything was packed in beautiful boxes that made it look festive. Some dishes needed to be warmed up by putting them in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees. Everything tasted really delicious! :) Even though we couldn't eat at the Stroming itself, it was really great! Thanks for the good service 😁
