Tasty dishes, pleasant atmosphere, good service (especially from the male staff) - white house wine could be much better

We went there for dinner on my birthday to celebrate my retirement. 😀 It was delicious! We were welcomed very friendly. I myself have to follow a very strict diet, I had forwarded this when making the reservation with the question whether something was possible. A positive answer followed very quickly. We had a very tasty, delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere in a beautiful setting. We had a nice, spacious table. My wife chose a 4-course lunch menu, I let myself be surprised. The chef managed to offer me a delicious menu, completely according to my diet, without me feeling uncomfortable at any time. The wine was also very tasty, the service was smooth, friendly and professional. Our sincere thanks and compliments to the hostess, to the chef and to the entire team. We will definitely come back.

A beautiful and delicious restaurant in the country side of Sluis. The food was wonderful with a nice looking, really tasty and freshly prepared. The service is very friendly and warmly welcome even half and hour before opening. The surprise menu of the Chef is worth both for quality and price. Worth a visit and enjoy a nice dinner. 👏👏👏🥂💐

At the westernmost point of NL: Nicely composed six-course menu, pleasant service/service at a spacious round table, perhaps the supplier of the items is a little further on the road to Sluis (Sligro) but there is nothing wrong with that👍

For 20 years, we've been enjoying the fantastic cuisine, hospitality, and ambiance of this restaurant. The food is always refined and top-quality. The menus are seasonal and created with care, love, and passion. The service is friendly, warm, and extremely attentive. In short, for us, a meal at De Vijverhoeve is always a moment of indulgence and pampering, with all the trimmings.

Our hopes were high since this restaurant has a mention in the Michelin-guide, and to be clear: the quality and freshness of the food they serve is indeed top-notch. But we cannot agree with the lyric comments some others on Tripadvisor write about this restaurant. The welcoming and service is very agressive: when we came in we were greeted by (probably) one of the owners, the lady asked us if we would have our aperitif in the garden of inside (good sales technique I admit). We wanted to be seated inside and she came back with the same direct question so we felt quite obliged to order an aperitif. Same thing when we took the house-wine: it was served very brutally. Next we were pushed to take one of the menu-formulas although they offer 'à la carte'. So once again we felt pressured to do so and much to my surprise, the man sitting at the table next to me (who had taken the same menu) got a piece of meat twice the size of mine. Very weird. After the main plate, a young waitress made an attempt to remove the crumbles of our table, but left half of them lying there. Oh, did I mention that the menu-card was dirty and already used very very often? Finally, when we said we wanted to pay with a credit card instead of cash, we could not pay at the table but were directed to the exit at a counter. A bit like when you pay your groceries in a supermarket. Michelin must have lowered their standards if they make a mention of this restaurant. Been there, never again.

We waren met twee personen. Voor mij niet de eerste keer, mijn vriend wel. Het was een TOP beleving. Alles zeer netjes en proper. Het personeel zeer opmerkzaam en de keuken zeer lekker. Ook een prachtige tuin. Prijs kwaliteit TOP.

Het was echt niet goed , we moesten 1h30 wachten om te eten! Was het misschien omdat we de menu niet namen? We bestelden een voorgerecht, een hoofdrecht en een fles wijn. De ober was arrogant en de eigenares was hautain en niet commercieel. In de toekomst zullen we in een ander restaurant reserveren . Hier komen we nooit meer terug!

Vriendelijke bediening en onthaal door de gastvrouw. en kelner De aangepaste wijnen zijn zorgvuldig gekozen en lekker. Heerlijk gegeten , echt gastronomisch ,innovatieve keuken. Gezellig interieur . Goede verhouding prijs / kwaliteit. Kortom perfect

Schon der Empfang an der Tür und die Platzierung waren vielversprechend. Unsere hohen Erwartungen wurden jedoch noch weit übertroffen. Das 4 Gang Menu und die begleitenden Weine waren exzellent. Der Service war aufmerksam, charmant und überaus liebenswürdig. Insgesamt: für uns ein großer Abend.

Regelmatig gaan wij uit eten in verschillende restaurants, om onze trouwdag met zijn twee te vieren naar de Vijverhoeve en het was top kwaliteit, uitstekende bediening en wat wij voorgezet kregen was verrassend en top ! Dank jullie wel. Hier komen wij vaker terug kan niet beter.

We were able to enjoy a great meal in the garden! The service was excellent, always on hand, never intrusive! We were also very welcome with a dog. The dishes are a taste explosion and we are completely happy and satisfied Many thanks to the great team and continued success

Vanaf het eerste slokje tot het laatste hapje merk je dat elk gerecht met dagverse producten en grondige vakkennis bereid wordt en dat de gastvrouw tot in de puntjes op de hoogte is van wat er in het wijnglas terecht komt, deze keer ondermeer een uitstekende Spaanse Chardonnay. Het is altijd gezellig tafelen, of je nu in het originele restaurantgedeelte, de lichtrijke en ruime veranda of het stijlvolle terras in de perfect onderhouden tuin plaatsneemt. We zijn nog nooit teleurgesteld in De Vijverhoeve en kijken alweer uit naar ons volgende bezoek!

We were able to eat in the garden when the weather was nice. Versailles in small size. Wonderful food in a wonderful atmosphere.

Had an extensive lunch here with friends. From the appetizer to the dessert, everything was perfect! Top quality food and the service was even better if possible. Whoever came to the table: they were all so friendly and knowledgeable. Worth the detour.

Une mention toute particulière pour l'accueil malgré un quiproquo dans les mails de réservation. Table de 6 rapidement dressée alors que nous n'étions pas attendu. Personnel attentif, agréable et acceuillant Qualité du repas excellent pour un prix raisonnable au vu du standing de l'établissement. Nous avons passé une très agréable soirée et nous reviendrons en réservant longtemps à l'avance.

The 3-course-lunch was culinary great and a very good value for money. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The only unpleasant surprise at the end was that 50cl of sparkling water and a glass of standard white wine costed 19 euro. So a very good place to go for lunch if you watch the prices of the drinks before you order.

We were so impressed and blown away by this charming spot from the moment we parked up. Setting so calm and beautiful, service super friendly and attentive and the food and wine were quite superb. We are so lucky to have discovered this venue locally recommended by a Sluis neighbour.

Magnificent restaurant in the Knokke countryside. The setting is refined and the service is impeccable. The dishes are excellent and plentiful. Very good value for money. Address to remember!

We had lunch in the garden of De Vijverhoeve in beautiful (and a bit too warm) weather. Under the parasol, of course. And that was quite bearable. What a beautiful restaurant and what a beautifully landscaped garden! We made a reservation after reading the reviews. And they were all good. So the bar was high. We chose a bubbly as an aperitif and the proposed three-course menu with an extra entree (shrimps). The appetizers that were served tasted delicious. The starter, a salmon tartare with avocado, looked beautifully prepared and was tasty. The avocado flavor was dominant, so there was no immediate “wow” taste. Nevertheless, a great starter. The intermediate course was a potato/Dutch shrimp dish, where the potato was prepared and pureed in a classic way. Unfortunately a little too much potato, so we barely tasted the flavor of the shrimp. Shame. The main course with red gurnard tasted delicious. Nicely baked on the skin. Potato was also served here, which we had just had. It would have been nicer if either the intermediate course or the main course had contained less or no potato. The sauce was fantastic. Dessert was a great end to an overall excellent lunch menu. A little more variety in taste would have given this review 5 stars. That will hopefully be for next time. Because we will definitely go back!

Everyone there is very friendly and great food. Cozy and beautiful interior. The kitchen takes lactose intolerance very carefully into account and makes the effort to provide options or prepare something different. Super! Recommended. Price-quality top.

Very friendly welcome in a beautiful setting. Took the 5-course market menu, which was well prepared and beautifully presented. Everything was fresh and delicious, but I still missed something. A sauce with one thing, vinaigrette with another, for example a piece of toasted bread with the pate. Was good, but could have been exceptionally good. Definitely recommended, but they can do just that little bit more. Will definitely come back, especially because of the correct pricing.

Today we really let ourselves be pampered, on our penultimate day of vacation 😋 and everything was perfect 👌 once again a big thank you to the team, you did a good job 😊

Wat een bijzondere ervaring, eerlijke en verse producten. Een bijzonder creatief kookteam en uiterst vriendelijke bediening 👍. Indien mogelijk probeer dan op het terras te genieten want de tuin is echt een meerwaarde. Voor ons het beste restaurant in de wijde omtrek. De prijs is zeer correct voor wat wordt aangeboden. Proficiat!!!

Zeer mooie tuin, prachtig om er te zitten. Bediening vriendelijk, maar je moet wel geduld hebben. De portie vis was behoorlijk, maar 1toefke broccoli en een paar kleine dotjes puree ( al samen nog geen soeplepel) lijkt me toch miniem.
