I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere in this restaurant; everything was decorated for Christmas. I'll definitely be back.

Exceptional location and excellent food. Definitely worth a try (make sure to reserve a table). It's perfect for a quick lunch, a multi-course meal, or dinner. The food is truly excellent, and the quality is very high. Pets are allowed outside, so depending on the season, you may or may not be allowed to bring them.

I find this place a bit old-fashioned when it comes to food. And the prices are a bit high for what they offer. It's nicely located by the water, though.

The food was delicious! The meat was excellent. De Voetangel is a cozy restaurant. The service consisted of lovely ladies who did their jobs very well and were very friendly. The acoustics are good, so you could hear each other perfectly in a full restaurant without having to speak loudly. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is easy to find, but it's in the middle of nowhere. You definitely shouldn't go there in the dark, as you'll be driving along a narrow, winding road with no lights, past meadows. Once you arrive, however, you'll have a beautiful view of the water. The service is excellent, and the food is like eating in a 5-star restaurant. I could easily bring my whole family to experience it, it's that good. I'm giving it 3 stars for the atmosphere because it attracts a certain type of clientele. As a Dutch immigrant, I felt quite "watched." All in all, this is highly recommended, and I'll definitely eat there again. De Voetangel is literally a hidden gem :).

What a great place and good quality of food

I came here to have a nice drink, unfortunately I didn't experience much of the delicious food I heard about. The service was great, we got 2 friendly guys with a black shirt to our tables who helped us very well. I will definitely come here again, the only thing that disappointed me is that few people gave tips to this friendly staff.

Tucked away in the serene Ronde Hoep polder, De Voetangel is a total escape from Amsterdam’s hustle, just a 10-minute drive away. Had the carpaccio starter—fresh, zesty with basil mayo and Parmesan—and the slow-cooked duck leg with hoisin sauce, which was melt-in-your-mouth amazing. The riverside terrace view is unreal, especially at sunset with the city skyline peeking through. Staff were warm and attentive, though it can get busy, so book ahead. Prices are fair for the quality . Perfect spot for a relaxed lunch or dinner. 5 stars!

Delicious food and super friendly service

Als ik deze beoordeling op basis van alleen mijn eigen ervaring had moeten schrijven zou ik ik op "vreselijk"terecht zijn gekomen. Maar mijn vrouw was (aanzienlijk) minder ontevreden dan ikzelf en daarom wordt het gewoon "slecht". Laat ik bij het begin beginnen. De hostess, die vanwege haar iets gevorderde leeftijd toch zou moeten weten hoe je gasten dient te ontvangen, had duidelijk even geen zin. Nauwelijks gezeten kregen of er werd op lompe wijze gevraagd wat we wilden drinken. Mijn vrouw antwoordde dat ze wel een glas wijn wilde. Daarop liet de hostess weten dat we konden kiezen tussen een Pinot Grigio (wit) en een Carignan Laborie (rood). We waren verbaasd over zo'n geringe keuze waarop ik besloot om dan maar een glas bier te nemen, terwijl mijn vrouw voor de Pinot Grigio ging. Pas later ontdekten we dat er een wijnkaart was met aanzienlijk meer keuze. Als voorgerecht bestelde ik een aspergesoep. Mijn vrouw een boerenpate. Die pate smaakte haar goed. Mijn aspergesoep daarentegen was wat waterig en er dreven welgeteld 3 heel dun gesneden schijfjes asperge in. Op die wijze gaat 1 asperge zo'n 30 borden soep mee. Het hoofdgerecht van mijn vrouw bestond uit Iberico varken. Opnmieuw was zij niet ontevreden. Ik had had voor de vis-van-de-dag gekozen. Dat bleek kabeljauw te zijn. Die was net niet voldoende gegaard en sommige plekken nog wat glazig. Zonde van een, op zich, mooie moot vis en van mijn maaltijd. Het garnituur bestond uit wat harder schijfjes aardappel met wat gesmolten kaas erover. Met enige fantasie kon dat voor gratin dauphinoise doorgaan. Dit werd vergezeld door een piepklein schaaltje mierzoete peertjes en kleine 2 bakjes van iets waarvan ik aanvankelijk dacht dat het soepgroenten waren maar dat rauwkost garnituur bleek te zijn. Met een espresso en een gemberthee toe kwam de rekening op ruim € 90. Een fors bedrag voor een half mislukte maaltijd en wat lomp gedrag.

We simply experienced the best meal/service in years - and we do eat out a lot! You have to eat here if anywhere near Amsterdam/Schipol. Located just off the motorway but in a wonderful canal/waterway setting, this is more than worth the slight detour although I think you may have to book at prime times. Great onion soup, wonderfully cooked/flavoured meats and delicious deserts. Served by staff with a smile and who seemed genuinely pleased by our positive feedback. We will do our utmost to return soon despite living in England!

I ate my lunch on the terrace on Sunday afternoon. They were closed. In the wind a beautiful view of the skyline of the Bijlmer.

As a stopover on our tour, we ate really delicious Procureur & Zwezerik here, beautifully prepared with green asparagus and (I think important) tasty crispy fries on a beautiful wide spot on a sunny terrace along the water. So no sting whatsoever (don't know the reason for the name "foot sting") :) And also beautiful inside; recommended.

It's been 2 weeks since we were here and writing a review is the least I can do. After all, it was great. We came here to celebrate my mother-in-law and grandmother's birthday and we enjoyed the good service and delicious food. In the online reservation I had indicated that we were coming for her 80th birthday and whether a small candle could be placed on the dessert. It ended up being much more than that. Super! Nice place to celebrate whatever there is to celebrate, or to relax for an evening in the polder (indoors or on the lovely terrace). Everything is really done to please everyone. The team attaches great importance to hospitality and the kitchen brigade prepares mouth-watering dishes that are also a feast for the eyes!!!

Het eten was heerlijk, mooi opgemaakte borden, fijne bediening, we kregen ons eten vlot. Niets op aan te merken. Enige wat opviel is de hogere leeftijd van alle gasten.

Mijn vrouw en ikzelf en soms met familieleden komen hier al enige jaren vanuit Amsterdam, en wij vinden dit echt het beste restaurant qua eten het zeer vriendelijke en professioneel personeel en de locatie is ook top, ik moet ook de chef en medewerkers in de keuken een compliment geven van de keuze die ze maken over de heerlijke gerechten die zij de klanten voorschotelen, de constante kwaliteit is top, er is maar één minpunt ,dat ze jammer genoeg zijn gesloten op onze trouwdag in juli.Wij hopen hier nog vele jaren te genieten van deze voor ons culinaire hoogtepunt een aantal keren per jaar. Last Saturday I had lunch with family. Won't go there again. There was no fresh orange juice. The croquettes were lukewarm. And the service wasn't really friendly. The sweet wine wasn't really sweet. You must have experienced it. In any case, not worth repeating.

Had lunch with my cycling group of 8 today. I have eaten here many times and wanted to share this with my group. Big mistake ☹️. We were given a place where we had to sit next to each other, but we took that for granted. The food was very average. The fish salad “De Waver” cost €25 and only contained mixed lettuce from a bag and some pieces of fish. Little dressing and no additions such as tomato, cucumber and onion. We asked for a piece of bread and we were charged €6.00 ​​for this. The smoked salmon sandwich with salad had no lettuce at all. In the end there were 12 drinks on the bill while we had only had 1 drink each. So 4 too many. Unfortunately, I didn't see that until I settled with everyone. So very disappointing. RESPONSE TO RESPONSE: Thanks for your explanation. However, we have a different experience. Everything depends on communication. Maybe you should have said you were full. The salad was really substandard and not richly filled with fish. The participants really only had 1 drink per person. And no cappuccino. This is also evident from our photos. When we had looked for a place inside to eat during the rain, we left the plates and paid. The 3 guests with the salads were also not asked whether they enjoyed it. It is true that one bread discount was given to the gentleman who ordered onion soup. Perhaps when one of the guests ordered a slice of bread with the salad, you could have told them that it cost €6. Please note that you are still prepared to refund the excess consumption charged. Now those were my responsibility because I had not checked the receipt. I will send you an email about this. Since the construction of the AMC, I have regularly come there for lunch and dinner, for both business and private occasions. I have been able to enjoy the taste and atmosphere of the Leurs family restaurant there for 2 generations. I don't remember it being disappointing. I also regularly went there to enjoy Ajax football with business relations, but unfortunately that is no longer possible due to different opening hours and some less personal reasons. On my birthday I still receive the invitation from my love to celebrate there! I hope to celebrate it like this for a long time to come. Top Leurs family and staff!

Staying at Villa Oldenhoff you of course have to eat at the Voetangel, not knowing it would be so busy. But if you have eaten and drunk there with the hospitality of Leonie and Ans, you will know why: everything was great, 10 with a stylus!!

Since the construction of the AMC, I have been coming here for lunch and dinner, both business and private. The atmosphere, service and food are great for me. My table companions have already experienced two generations of the Meurs family. Since the opening of the Johan Cruijff Arena, I have regularly dined here with private and business contacts, but unfortunately due to the changing playing times and the change in the opening time of the Voetangel, this is no longer possible, and personal circumstances have made it less so. In recent years my love has invited me on my birthday to celebrate it here!! Great Meurs family, keep going!!

For my 97 year old mother-in-law's birthday, my wife's and my brother-in-law had a lovely meal outside in an attractive environment. The 3-course lunch menu is highly recommended, the mustard soup was delicious, as were the fish, steak and eggs. the dessert with delicious ice cream completed it all.

Birthday lunch on July 10 with partner and his mother. Excellent lunch menu. Courses are not large, but fine for lunch. Small mistake with a main course but it was no problem. Price-quality is therefore good. Good, nice service. And of course 'flashy' dessert... Bringing a nice drink to take home was a nice surprise! Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to reach (the center of Amsterdam), otherwise we would come more often!

Had a lovely lunch today at the Voetangel due to... Our parents' 65th wedding anniversary. Food was really great and the service was super attentive. Was a wonderful gift for our parents.

Driving up to the restaurant is extremely stunning. The location could not be more beautiful. So serene and in nature but right near Amsterdam and a main high way. The oysters we had to start off were absolutely lovely. The rest of the meal was lovely, simple and honest. Its lovely for a date night but also casual enough that you can go in a group. My only lesser point was they allow dogs inside the restaurant. I think its fine for sitting outside but I dont believe pets belong in a dining setting.
