Very cozy and comforting atmosphere restaurant, service and food are pleasant. We had afternoon tea and snacks. All wonderful! We will be back 👍

It took a long while until we could even order, the food that came in was cold and staff kinda acted like we forced them to work.

We were a group of 9 staying at the hotel and running the Amsterdam marathon. We knew we needed somewhere to eat that we could crawl to following the run and East restaurant was perfect. It catered for all our tastes and dietary needs and the food and service were perfect.

Super kind service with warm smile! Oyster night is our fav from now ❤️🦪🦪

I've been going to Restaurant EAST in the Casa Hotel for years. Although I've never had a full meal there, I've regularly ordered snacks like fries and bitterballen. The prices are very fair, and I've never encountered bad service or unfriendly staff. That consistent level of friendliness and quality makes me want to return.

Reasonable prices, good quality

On Thursdays, there's a special cocktail for €5. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to get this cocktail without alcohol. We had to pay full price. So, it's more expensive than without alcohol. The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, my ordered espresso never arrived. It's a shame.

Very tasty, we went with family and everyone had something to enjoy. Friendly staff. Excellent value for money.

Not much choice but decent and inexpensive meal

We came here for the bottomless weekend brunch. The service and food were excellent! The orange juice in the mimosas was freshly pressed and the atmosphere calm and inviting. We’ll be back 🩷

I've been coming to Hotel Casa and thus Restaurant EAST for years, already 10+ years. It is an amazing spot to study or work, nice tables, options to charge phone or laptop, quiet but not too quiet. The food is amazing and really affordable. What has changed immensely though the last year or so: is the service. Every time I really think to myself "this will be my last time", "surely it can't get any worse?!", but it just doesn't seem to improve at. all. Today I've waited 40minutes for someone to take my order. The waiters clean the tables but seem to avoid eye contact with customers so you can't order. They are not attentive, will stay in the coffee corner for 20+ minutes before deciding to make another round past the tables to see if customers are taken care off, want something else, are enjoying their food. Today was not an exception though, this is what happened all the other times I visited this last year as well. The fact that it is SUCH a wonderful place to sit and work/study, the food is tasty AND affordable is what's making me come back continuously... but it's definitely NOT the service and it is such a shame. There are a few waiters who are definitely the exception and are SO so kind and attentive, but.. it's just a few unfortunately. EAST could easily score more stars in reviews if they would work on their service.

I was here for lunch today with a friend and they were drilling for about 10 minutes so we had to shout over that. When we were done and wanted to pay, the payment system had to restart. We were waiting for this for 15 minutes, when it turned out that we would have to wait even longer before the system was restarted, I indicated that I wanted to pay at the other PIN machine. Apparently they couldn't think of this themselves. Then I had to mention what I had ordered again and then I walked to the other POS system and the manager forgot to bring the menu. Then he walked back with 1 menu (for drinks). .. and then with the second (food). All in all, we had to wait even longer... Unfortunately no discount for all the inconveniences so we had to pay the whole price. I wished the manager and the other employees a nice day and all three of them didn't say hello back. He also had not apologized for the inconveniences. I will never go here again!

Very nice staff and nice ambience, but a shame that their specialty coffee is not available, due to some event, despite the staff being there.

Such a great restaurant! Wasn’t busy, the food was amazing, every single plate we had was devoured, the drink menu is diverse and the whole staff team is very accommodating and friendly. Will be coming back!

We came for a hot chocolate in the evening, an adorable barwoman, attentive, calm atmosphere.

Quiet place, we ate there and received excellent service! We highly recommend it.

We went for the oyster night , it was indeed cheap but the oyster was tiny ! Smallest I’ve ever seen. And because we sat in the corner, hard to spot so we waited for quite some time until we have to go ask for a menu and ask somebody to come over to order. I ordered steak as well medium wear, but I got well cooked steak I asked the waitress she was nice and she changed it for me still I have to wait for my new steak to come . Afterwards, I ordered another glass of wine but waiting for so long again nobody came so I went to the manager and request for it. He apologised and said it’s on them. Not long after the way to finally came with the glass of wine I ordered so I told him that we already got the wine so he took away but when we pay for the bill, they charged these two glasses of wine extra on the bill. So I asked them to check and change the issue was fixed, but I just wanna say the service was not great at all and the food was just okay nothing amazing. I won’t go there again as it’s also very far away from the city.

We stayed overnight in the hotel and ate in the integrated restaurant on a Sunday evening. Our first food order came back immediately with the statement that neither salmon, beef nor chicken were available today. This extremely limited the selection and then forced us to order vegetarian. The food was OK, but in my opinion too expensive for the small portions. I had the tangine and it was bad/unseasoned. We had already ordered drinks before all the ordering chaos. These were then delivered after 30 minutes, when we had almost finished eating. Because of the very poor service, I can't give more than one star overall.

Stayed at hotel, had dinner there twice. Food is amazing

We waited more than 1 hour for a sandwich and they even made a mistake in the order! The service was between the worsts we experienced in years.

Six of us had breakfast, the food seemed to have no taste, the poached eggs were boiled hard, the drinks were half a glass, in general, the opinion of everyone at the table was 2, be careful

Lemon cake was disgusting, never tried such a bad cake, couldn’t eat it. Tasted like carboard. The matcha latte was just just hot milk. I waited for the whole thing 15min evenrhough no other customers where there.

Restaurant in the hotel, food was very good but the service was catastrophic, completely overwhelmed by the few guests.

Had the BEST SWEET POTATO FRIES OF MY LIFE!!! Get the aioli 🫵 also had an amazing beet and whipped goat cheese dish. Got free bitterballen for staying at the connected hotel. Soup was just ok (too thick).

Very nice and atmospheric restaurant with super hospitable staff! We had a great evening. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail. Furthermore, a central and easily accessible location. Highly recommended!

The shakula and tagine came in a baby plate and a doll pan. The dinner dishes were no more than four bites of food. The flatbread was the most thin and tasteless version imaginable. The non-Dutch speaking boy in the "service" radiated depression, unsociability and even more depression. He alone (and the gnome portions) made sure that, completely against our habit, we didn't tip. And €4.75 for a soft drink!

I ordered merguez as a main and marinated feta cheese as a starter for lunch. The feta was good and well marinated and tasted good. The merguez however was more like a hotdog sausage rather than real merguez. The service was good.

From 7 am till 1 am you can enjoy tasty food and drinks there. Perfect for earlybirds or an early breakfast meeting. It’s not only a restaurant, but also a wine bar, deli and spot for good coffee. In the deli they sell the most delicious products to take home. From the wines they serve in the wine bar.

Overall, not bad. Good prices compared to many other places in Amsterdam. We were at the oyster hour - oysters for 1.5 euros, good service, cocktails were quite alcoholic

Their events are excellent! Little Fridays (the 5eur cocktails on Thursdays) alone are worth the visit and review, but their Oyster Happy Hour was awesome! Looking forward to the rooftop bar in the summer, and their next events!

Food is really good quality for Amsterdam, but 7 EUR for a (standard bottle) beer? :/

Ужин был достаточно вкусным: очень классный печеный баклажан с овощами, сочные мини-бургеры (с мясом и с сыром халуми), вкусный лимонад. А вот жареные колбаски с овощами были средние, второй раз бы не взяли. Без алкоголя ужин обошелся в €42, что по меркам Амстердама - средняя цена... Обслуживание, как и в самом отеле, дружелюбное и качественное, поэтому поставил 5 звезд, хотя за саму еду можно было 4.

This place was unexpectedly great! We ordered the sea bass and octopus dish and both were fresh and full of flavour. So delicious, would recommend!

If you are looking for breakfast pastries LOOK NO FURTHER. The cinnamon roll at the coffee bar has been the HIGHLIGHT of my stay. Forget those greasy-fatty supermarket pastries. This is QUALITY. So so yummy! Would be awesome if they could offer some syrups for flavored coffee though 🤔

Service a bit slow but overall good food and nice place. Price are ok for the quality. Veggie burger is really good. Also tried the cocktail and they were good too.

Cosy, spacious, and well decorated place. I had breakfast here a few times and eggs and pancakes were the only option. Eggs were overdone and had too much mayo whereas the pancakes were dry. This rendered the prices as expensive. Service is unexperienced and awkward at best. It's difficult to park around the place during the week due to the busy location. I recommend House of Watt around the corner instead.

Poor choice of dishes for the dinner menu. Waitresses and waiters all seem to be students (completely inexperienced) and completely unable to cope, this restaurant should spend some money on real staff! Food was good, nice and warm, but too expensive for these small portions. The restaurant is quite loud, more a bar with some side dishes than a real restaurant. Of course, it is a hotel restaurant. Still, there is more potential than what they made out of it. Too bad, really.

Demi was een topper maar verder was het of temper personeel of hele nieuwe onervaren mensen. Tafels bleven vies omdat personeel met elkaar stond te praten. Lang wachten voordat er wat opgenomen wordt. Geen suiker bij de koffie en als je er om vraagt wordt het vergeten. Vervolgens ook geen peper en zout bij je eieren. Personeel vraagt niet hoe het is en of je nog wat wil. Zetten het eten en drinken neer en voordat het staat draaien ze hun hoofd al om weg te lopen.

Heerlijke flexwerk-plek, goed eten, gevarieerd koffie-aanbod en vriendelijk personeel. Internet vrij toegankelijk en de aankleding en sfeer zijn aangenaam.

Leuke en gezellige plek voor borreltje

Nous sommes allés chez East, le restaurant de l'hôtel où nous séjournions car nous étions fatigués et n'avions pas envie de ressortir ce soir là. Étant donné que le petit-déjeuner était top et que nous avions adoré le rooftop, on pensait retrouver la même qualité au restaurant. Nous avons étaient très déçus ! Pour commencer nous avons attendu 30 minutes avant de commander alors que le restaurant était quasiment vide. Les plats sur la cartes donnent envie, ils ont l'air d'être recherchés. Nous avons pris les raviolis et les "ribeye", les pâtes n'avaient aucun intérêt et je me suis retrouvée avec de micro crêpes et de la viande dedans. En bref, passez votre chemin, des plats relativement chers vu la qualité de ce qui est servi.

You should visit this place when chef Berkan is in the kitchen. A young talented, friendly chef. The staff are also very sweet.

The lady behind the bar was really nice. The bar was really good and plesant. Will come back.

Restaurant East heeft zich van haar beste kant laten zien en ons familieweekend in Amsterdam tot iets onvergetelijks gemaakt. Niet alleen vanwege het heerlijke diner maar vooral ook vanwege de geweldige service en een extra inzet zodat wij ons als echte exclusieve gasten voelden. Heel speciaal. Dank je wel!

Good food & drinks, but service is a bit slow due to understaffing

Las tartaletas de fruta están buenas y para desayunar está bien el lugar.

Van school uit hadden we een voucher gewonnen voor een 3 gangen diner en een fles wijn bij EAST. het is heerlijk eten, een heel mooi modern restaurant en heel vriendelijk personeel! Het is voor mij misschien alleen iets te culinair, ik ben daar zelf niet helemaal weg van, maar vond het voor een keer toch erg lekker! als het in de buurt was had ik er graag nog een keer gegeten want, het was echt HEERLIJK!

Heerlijke plek om te werken en 's avonds rustig een hapje te eten. Erg goede cocktails!

Eten is ook top. Alleen duurde het allemaal erg lang voordat we t kregen. Zelfs het drinken. Voorderest, een top plekje wel.

East has very few options for a vegetarian, I mostly had pancakes without beacon and once a pasta. I loved the pancakes but pasta was not so good. One thing I loved about East is the staff, they are lovely people, always serving you with a smile on their face and they attend to every minute thing. Thank you east for the most delicious pancakes!

In Casa (studenten)hotel. Uitstekende koffie en mooie lunchkaart. Redelijke kwaliteit met voor studenten best wel hoge prijs.

Lekker eten met een gezellig sfeertje. Snel dienst tijdens de lunch.

The pasta made inside the parmesan cheese was ok, its taste was like any normal pasta, nothing special

Super cosy place to have a drink, to work. Next time will try its food.
