The beer is good, but you don't come here for the food. Very meager portions. We tried almost everything on the menu, and it was inedible. The fish and chips weren't fresh. The tenderloin came in two pathetic, single pieces. The schnitzel is maybe 200 grams, and the chicken burger comes without sauce, like a sandwhich. We've been here twice, but not again.

The atmosphere upon entering is immediately inviting and the staff is very friendly and fast, the food was ready quickly and tasted very good.

You can eat well and tasty food here, if it is busy you will have to wait a bit longer.

Delicious pancakes. And a cozy restaurant. It was great that they had a wide range of options for allergies. We did have to wait quite a while, especially since the waiter told us it wasn't busy. A half-hour wait with small children feels like a long time. There was a playroom, which helped with the wait, but still.

The food was delicious. The pancake was good, but the chef had probably just received a truckload of arugula. There was so much arugula on it that we seriously considered wrapping it for our pet rabbit, Snuffy. The service was leisurely. By the time someone visited our table again, we were practically elderly. Which is fitting for the clientele. And when they finally came by, it wasn't to ask if we wanted dessert. They probably thought we were still finishing off the arugula.

A very nice restaurant with friendly service (last Sunday evening). Definitely recommended, especially the square tables are more inviting than rectangular ones. One minor point: two of us ordered rare duck steak, but we felt it was served medium rare and wasn't tender. The rest was fantastic (especially the cheese platter).

Visited on a Monday evening during the autumn break (8 people, family dinner). We had booked online and were warmly welcomed upon arrival and politely escorted to our table. The decor is cozy and homely, exactly what you'd expect from an old farmhouse, although it was quite busy and therefore noisy. The staff was friendly, but clearly understaffed. As a result, the dishes took a long time to arrive, and there were few check-ins between meals to see if everything was to your liking. After waiting over an hour for the main course, we received our food – unfortunately, almost everyone's food was only moderately warm or even lukewarm. The mixed grill was particularly disappointing (the meat was overcooked). The other main courses, such as the veal and beef duo and the spare ribs, were okay, but nothing special. The starters were also okay, but certainly not up to par with the (higher) prices. Another shame: the three-course children's menu offers little choice (no children's portion of spare ribs or hamburger, only pancakes or fries with a snack). As a result, the children only ordered a children's main course. De Turfhoeve is a cozy restaurant with potential, but the quality of the food and service seems to suffer considerably during busy periods. Given the prices, you'd expect more. We might give it another try sometime at a quieter time when it's not busy – and then with pancakes (given the wide selection they have).

We had dinner at the Turfhoeve on a Sunday. We ordered an omelet, a pastry, a pancake, and a salad. All the dishes were excellent. The coffee was good, and the staff was friendly.

We've eaten here twice. The first time, we had pancakes for lunch. They were delicious and generously filled. The second time, we had dinner in the evening. The service was friendly. It was very busy in the evening, but we were able to get a table for two without a reservation. Some guests from larger groups were quite busy, making the restaurant quite noisy. Both the appetizer and the main course were excellently prepared. Highly recommended!

We ordered salmon and a pancake. The vegetables with the salmon weren't really warm, nor was the salmon itself, and we received a tiny portion of fries. The pancake tasted of flour and wasn't really cooked through. Not going back. No way.

They serve great goulash soup there

Nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Prices are on the upper mid-range side, but that's probably due to its proximity to the highway. The food was delicious, but the vegetables were unfortunately overcooked. The service and atmosphere were consistent and always friendly.

Their own "Koempel Weizen" (meat stew) wasn't good, so I immediately ordered Erdinger and sent the "Koempel" back to the kitchen. The food was fine.

A warm welcome. The young lady even took the time to chat, even though it was quite busy.

After a day at Toverland, we decided to go out for a nice meal, but unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The portions were very small (though tasty) for the price, and I was still hungry afterward. The children's pancakes came with a "surprise" (read: cheap junk from Temu, totally unsuitable for a 2-year-old). It was nice, but not requested, and afterward, we saw on the receipt that an additional €0.50 had been added to each surprise. Never again.

The food was a bit pricey for what you got on your plate, but the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Still just as good after all these years

I ordered the pork tenderloin. The price-quality ratio is really skewed. The vegetables were colorless and tough. Really not tasty. The fries were very small. The meat was okay. For €25, you should definitely expect more. I reported this, but they didn't do anything with it. Which is remarkable when even the staff says the vegetables don't look appetizing. I was here years ago. Everything was great then. Unfortunately, this time it's a big disappointment.

We were among the first guests to dine there. The restaurant quickly became very busy. After sitting for an hour and still not having anything, I asked if it was going to be long. A man came out of the kitchen and said to us, "You've been sitting here drinking for a while, you should have ordered sooner." When our order finally arrived, the meat was very tough; the mixed grill and tournedo looked like rubber soles, and the spare ribs were more like shredded meat and very dry; nothing was tender. This was the first and last time we ate here.

We ate dinner with three people on the terrace. Nothing special, but it was good. Some main courses were better than others. The desserts were above average, especially the parfait with Bastogne is highly recommended. 😋 The service could be a bit faster; we had to wait quite a while for our order to be taken. The food did arrive quickly, though. 👍🏼

What a disgrace! I've regularly had excellent food here. But today it was absolutely terrible. I ordered two menus with medium tenderloin and got two shoe soles. Then the vegetables with all the dishes were simply tough and undercooked. The service and friendliness of the ladies was polite and good. But there's this older, gray-haired man who's been working here for years, by the way. He should either go on vacation or do something else. Hospitality and friendliness aren't high on his list of priorities. I know La Place across the street is better with better steak, so that speaks volumes. I've been here many times, but this was the last time, but not anymore. If you report something, they can't do anything about it.

After a long day out, we went out for dinner. There happened to be a restaurant next to the campsite, so the choice was easy. Although the food looked great, that's not the case everywhere. The steak was tough, and the schnitzel was yellow from the frying fat. But everything else was fine. If you're not into cooking and you're at the campsite, I recommend it.

The dining room is beautiful, and the terrace is pleasant in the summer. The food is good, but not everything is at the same level.

Came here for dinner with the family after having reserved a table for 7. Upon arrival we got the option to eat inside or outside and we chose outside. We ordered the following food items: Mixed grill Duo van kalf & rund Carpaccio & Vis trio Kip salade en kip burger Varken Schnitzel met champion saus Spareribs (GF) Gebakken aardappelen as a side. They have an extended beverage menu for alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. I would recommend some juice options since they have some unsweetened bottled juices available. After ordering the entre took around 15min to come out and the main about 20min after that. I asked for a GF option whilst making a reservation by phone and they said that wasn't an issue at all. When we ordered the spareribs we clarified the allergies and food restrictions, they acknowledged them, and still served a GF person fries. (That is fried in the same oil as products that contain gluten) We mentioned that and the lady took that plate back to change it. From the mixed grill the spareribs arrived cold and the chicken very dry. The other two pieces of meat were baked as requested. Secondly: The chips of the GF that were changed arrived semi cold too. The waitresses were kind but looked like they were struggling to keep up. Before they served the mains we had to request them to clear the empty glasses and bottles since the outside tables aren't necessarily too big. Upon requesting the bill I noticed one item being pressed three times on the receipt and mentioned that to the staff. It took 3 seperate ladies to fix that, yet here comes the "interesting" part: The total before was: 243.60 The faulty 2/3 items were a total of: 4.00 After they took it off our bill the total resulted to: 243.10. You don't need to be a mathematician to see that 0.50 cents was taken off instead of 4 euros. We paid the bill as is, but it is definitely something to mention as an improvement. If this company adds "small amounts" to every customer, that would add up nicely on their part. To add: They apologized for the inconvenience and did not offer to change it. At that point I was fed up with the incompetence and just offered to pay. Their price - quality ratio in regards to their meals isn't properly evaluated to my opinion too. Some positive notes: Their inside area as well as their outside area are quite big and spacious. They had a bouncy castle outside where the kids could play. They have an extended menu for drinks and food. With plenty of kids options. They have colouring plates for kids and their pancakes come with a tiny toy. They do clear tables fairly quickly. Overall I left underwhelmed with our experience dining here. They have potential and plenty of room to grow, yet would not recommend this restaurant to people as-is.

Nice restaurant. Food was fine. We got cold fries, but that was solved in no time. Price-quality ratio is out of balance. It is an informal eatery along the road, without culinary pretensions and such prices do not belong there.

We were allowed to sit in an empty room but had to leave at 5pm because orders had been placed. We were there at 3pm for coffee and cake.

De Turfhoeve Nice restaurant with good atmosphere. Food tasteless though. I had a pancake with chicken and vegetables but everything was really tasteless. The chicken was very dry and had no taste either. I used to eat here before when it was much better.

Had a buisness meal at the resturant and even though we arrived just before closing time the staff and meal was perfect.

Nice restaurant, nice atmosphere, good terrace. Bouncy castle for the children. A bit on the pricey side for what you get. I suspect a number of new people, service did not go completely smoothly.

Food was little. The fries were also very few and half black. The vegetables came from frozen. Haven't even eaten ice cream yet. No second time for us.

Made reservations today for Easter brunch. The entire buffet consisted of ready-made dishes. Just warm, standard dishes. For 40 euros per person this was a real joke. I really expect fresh dishes there and not meatballs from a package. Never again for us .

Going out for dinner with the family after a day in Magic Land. Unfortunately, one of the drinks turned out to be expired (unfortunately we saw it too late), but despite notification, it was still on the bill. Pancakes were on the soft side so not super tasty. The children's were better, so it almost seemed as if they had really made haste with the last 2 pancakes. Despite the time of day, it was still very quiet at the location. Due to the disappointing meal, I skipped dessert.

Food improved a lot compared to 7 years ago. Friendly staff. Unfortunately dinner was served one hour after ordering. No bread or dips as a courtesy to overcome the waiting time. No large bottle of water served.

A sole with some al dente vegetables for €47.50, price/quality ratio is a bit out of balance in my opinion.

I was really looking forward to a pancake, but unfortunately after waiting 45 minutes for the order, the pancakes were still undercooked, very soggy and not really worth the money. Not recommended for a pancake, who knows what else is on the menu🤷🏻‍♀️

We were super happy here. Quality, service and value for money were absolutely top! We even went there twice during our vacation because we liked it so much. Very child-friendly, we can't complain and would love to come back!

Most people here were friendly, but a gentleman behind the bar who was constantly on a laptop was not exactly friendly, when you raised your hand at me he deliberately looked away and instead of fetching someone, he continued quietly on his laptop. That aside, the food was very good, I had the sole and it tasted very good. They have a wide selection of wines and beer, which is always a plus. After dinner with a starter (carpaccio) I had a few drinks here. The atmosphere is good and I think it's a great business! Sometimes it can be busy, so I recommend making a reservation, especially around the weekends!

Atmosphere is good, staff also ok but the food is not good.. the pancakes are but you have to do your best not to get them right. Quality is low, tasteless vegetarian pasta, hamburger that was dirty (looked like it had been cooked) and wild meat overcooked with too little flavor. It was way too expensive for what you got, as we saw for example in the children's menu. Portion size is fine, but don't ask 16 euros for a mini piece of well-done bui industrial salmon with some fries, that is far above the price. Sounds like just complaining, but we had a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and food came relatively quickly.

Had dinner here with my husband yesterday...what a delicious pancake it was! 😋 So nice that they also have a gluten vegan here...👍 and then also a lactose-free ice cream!!! TOP!!!😄 It was great!!! So nice that you can also eat out!! ! Only praise for the chefs and waitstaff!!! Highly recommended for people with allergies!! I will definitely come back again!!!

Actually you should give 0 star for the way you treat customers, but the food was ok. I have never seen a boss be so arrogant and condescending. Concerns or complaints were not taken seriously or were even downplayed. The restaurant is not able to split bills. Service 6 Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

A nice place for a team-building event

I had spare ribs and they were cold, but the waiter brought them back and reheated them. I thought half a baked potato was a bit small for that price My daughter had pork tenderloin but for that price you expect a little more than two measly pieces. We wonder if you should report this immediately. It was very busy.

Food was lukewarm (onion soup) The snitzel was good as well as the sauce. My partner had pork tenderloin medallions (2 pieces), which we found on the economical side. I wouldn't choose to eat here again anytime soon.

Excellent friendly service and very tasty food. We were two families with two kids each. Separate play-room next to the main room with some play stuff for the kids while waiting. We’ll definitely come back!

Food is lukewarm, undercooked. Meat tough. Vegetables undercooked and lukewarm. Order asparagus and receive 4 asparagus supplemented with broccoli. Vegetable mix contained hard woody pieces. Strawberry dessert in a bowl with pieces missing and therefore sharp and a really huge mountain of strawberries. Lots of ambient noise, carts and bowls rolling past, bottles, cups and cutlery falling. Staff are friendly

It looks super cozy, something for everyone on the menu. However, we received incorrect information about allergens several times on two visits in a row. Even when asked further, they continued to provide incorrect information. This has major consequences for our family with children with allergies. I would strongly advise against the restaurant for this target group, which is a shame.

Very good food and great drinks.

Food cold, there was a lot of it and poorly or not replenished! The package lasts until 2 p.m. and before 1:30 p.m. they were already clearing the tables and taking the cutlery with them. Don't even ask at checkout if everything was to your liking. Been here before in the past and it was perfect! But unfortunately not now, they don't see us there anymore!

Food was tasty. Too bad that the young lady was already cleaning up at our table during dessert. That was a real letdown!

Am not so satisfied had a farewell dinner there last week. I don't think the price, quality and portion quantity are in proportion. I also found the food a bit tasteless. We were 6 people and they also share this experience. Had to remind the waiter about the drink order. They had forgotten. You would think we received a basket of rolls and herb butter, nice, but sharing 3 rolls for 6 people is a bit strange. Etc. A bad experience for me. I've been here several times in recent years. My experiences were okay then.

My kid had a different taste in pancakes (they have the thick style and he prefers the thin ones) and was a bit embarrassed to tell them (it is after all a matter of taste). Solved brilliantly by the super friendly staff.

Very busy. Lots of noise every now and then. Very tasty. Pancakes normally priced, the rest including starter and dessert and especially drinks very expensive. Went again yesterday. Extra compliment for staff. Especially, Kevin. What a nice, well-talked young man. There had to be more of that 😉👍

Had a delicious meal yesterday in this cozy, beautifully decorated restaurant. The service is nice and smooth. The food is delicious, and children are also catered for with an extensive menu and games/coloring pages. In short, highly recommended if you want to eat out in a cozy atmosphere.

I am always careful when discussing catering matters, but this tent has been there for 50 years, so it will survive. In short: mediocre. A fairly simple, sophisticated menu, intended to serve many tables quickly. Something went wrong for us: after taking out the starter, our main courses were not sent to the kitchen. An experienced employee eventually noticed this and silently fixed it (it became apparent when I came to complain after 45 minutes). By the way, we had made a reservation and reported this upon arrival, but when we got home we still received a 'we missed you' email. There was a prefabricated roof of bread with melted cheese on the onion soup. Just like a hockey puck. The soup was also no longer hot enough to melt it (although it had a nice taste.) Grandma's potatoes were not so much fried in butter but fried. Lots of hard black bits and a strange tuft of grass on top that added nothing. Because of the potato supplement, the standard fries with my schnitzel disappeared. There was never a surprise with the children's menu, although the waiter noticed that it was missing. My knife didn't come out of the dishwasher really clean. The food was really not bad: crispy, tender breaded schnitzel (with sauce from a packet, but better bought well than poorly made) and an excellent burger with oyster mushroom. But all in all, a lot went wrong. Don't worry too much about a glorified roadside restaurant, but for a planned dinner it is still substandard. Please note: no air conditioning.

It should be known that Holland is expensive, but the price/performance ratio is not right here at all. The pancake was half raw in the middle and the taste was completely unacceptable. Meat dishes are also completely overpriced. Never this store again.

The restaurant is located in a quiet place and has a beautiful terrace outside. There was an air cushion for the children, but they mainly enjoyed the puzzles and questions on their placemat. The service is friendly and knowledgeable and the food was very tasty. We were especially pleasantly surprised with the large amount of warm vegetables, as well as a delicious small salad. We will definitely come back here again!

Recommended restaurant right on the motorway. Lots of sheltered seating in front of the restaurant. Good pancakes, but a bit expensive. Attentive service.
