We, a married couple with two dogs, were looking for something special and found it! We were welcomed and advised in a very friendly and helpful manner. We took a culinary journey through Ethiopian cuisine and got to know the different spices and flavors. At the end we watched coffee beans being roasted over a small oven and were also able to taste the coffee we had roasted ourselves. Very tasty and pleasant. We felt very comfortable and the hour and a half went by quickly. Thanks for the hospitality

While strolling through Leeuwarden we happened to discover the Gojo restaurant. After looking at the website and the reviews, we decided to definitely try Ethiopian cuisine and were not disappointed. We were welcomed very friendly by a young woman, even though we were there a little earlier than reserved. The atmosphere was very cozy and almost had a living room atmosphere, but with typical country decoration. The young lady recommended a mix for two people: chicken, beef and lamb in three different sauces, salad, hard-boiled eggs, rice and several small vegetable side dishes as well as pancakes made from teff flour. Everything was very tasty and spicy, but not too spicy, very fresh and prepared with love by the chef (presumably the young woman's mother). At the end there was coffee, which was also delicious. If you're in Leeuwarden and like to think outside the box when it comes to culinary delights, you shouldn't miss this. However, you should definitely make a reservation as it was well occupied.

Aushum place. Great hospitality. The menu , the food smells transfer you to the highlands of Ethiopia!!! You can also try even beer from Adis Abeba , the capital of Ethiopia . You have the opportunity to see and participate in, at the coffee roasting procedure and of course try the traditional Ethiopian coffee . Of course the coffee beans are from the famous Ethiopian coffee fields!!!

Cool restaurant with very tasty food. We opted for the mix menu with several tasty dishes that were more than enough for us. Staff incredibly friendly. Nice atmosphere. It wasn't too busy. Free freshly roasted coffee at the end was also very tasty. I drank it black while I normally use some milk and sugar.

We had also never enjoyed Ethiopian food before, but saw that this restaurant has five stars! We thought we would like to decide for ourselves! Well I can tell you that it was even better, tastier and better than we expected! Everything we ordered was delicious! At the end we got home-roasted coffee, which was the best coffee I had ever had! They also had Ethiopian beer, highly recommended! They get a big ten from me, I really have nothing negative to say!

Eating here is truly an experience. We had the menu for 2 people and I didn't know Ethiopian food was so tasty! We really enjoyed all the flavors. The atmosphere here is relaxed and homely, you will be warmly welcomed by the friendly owner. This, together with the beautiful decor and the many different dishes, ensures that you sit a little longer than at another restaurant. At the end, fresh coffee was made for the enthusiast. Had a delicious meal here with my family! We were warmly welcomed and had a delicious meal. I didn't feel like I was in a restaurant at all, but rather in someone's living room. We were here with a social deal and had a shared platter. Just enough for 4 people, we had a lot of variety in vegetarian and meat dishes, pit and non-pit. Perfect for everyone! Highly recommended! Delicious Ethiopian food! Anyone who has never tasted it should definitely give it a try. I ordered a platter with all kinds of small dishes; three types of deliciously seasoned but not too spicy meat and with the many colorful vegetable dishes it is also very healthy. Everything tasted fresh and was of excellent quality. The service is super friendly and really does its best to please you. As an obvious Dutchman, I was given cutlery so I didn't have to eat with my hands like in Ethiopia. The decoration of the restaurant is very charming. The perfect place for a romantic date!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The owner's warm personality made the entire experience enjoyable and the doro wot I had was some of the best and authentic I have ever tested recent years. Plus their coffee is heel lekker. I recommend checking this place out.

Not to be missed! What an amazing meal, an experience. We had the mixed platter, it was beautiful, each dish delicious, thoughtful, and you could taste it was made with love. Eating the dishes by hand with the Ethiopian pancakes (Injera) added to authentic experience. Get in early because the plays fills up!

We only came across the Gojo restaurant by chance during our short vacation in Leeuwarden and were absolutely thrilled: the food was really delicious and plentiful, and the owner was extremely hospitable. We had dinner there on a Friday and folks, give it a try! It's been a long time since I've had such a tasty meal. We had a mix of dishes, lamb, chicken and some vegetarian and they were all delicious. Some a bit spicy, others spicy and kept nice and warm in cast iron pans. Absolutely recommended and not expensive.
