Lovely food and excellent service. Came back after 3 years. Still lovely, we really enjoyed our dinner, definitely still worth a visit.

This restaurant deserves a Michelin star. We had such a delicious meal there yesterday! Beautiful dishes, surprising flavor combinations, and hospitable and friendly staff. We had a fantastic evening!

What a sublime evening! We were invited to sit at the chef’s table – an experience in itself. It was incredibly fascinating to see the team at work live: focused, precise and at the same time so relaxed that you immediately felt welcome. The chef’s langoustine was truly next level – perfectly cooked, with a taste and refinement that you rarely taste. The amuses were also spot on: little works of art with surprising combinations that were just right. What made this experience truly exceptional was the chef’s courage: the courage to combine unexpected flavours, without it ever feeling forced. Everything was in balance, but always exciting and surprising. From start to finish an impressive interplay of technique, passion and daring. Absolute must for anyone who wants to experience top-level gastronomy. Compliments to the entire brigade! 👏🍽️✨

Last Thursday I celebrated my birthday at Restaurant Steef in Leeuwarden, and what a fantastic experience it was! We were warmly welcomed by the hospitable hostess and started the evening outside with an aperitif. Afterwards we enjoyed a refined 4-course menu inside. The dishes were all beautifully presented and tasteful, with surprising combinations that were perfectly matched to each other. The staff gave an excellent explanation of each course, which made the experience even more special. The accompanying wines were also carefully chosen and perfectly matched the flavours on the plate. As the icing on the cake, we finished with a delicious whisky. What a pleasure to have such a high-quality restaurant in Leeuwarden! You really get value for your money here. We will definitely be back!

Delicious works of art. Surprising flavours with friendly, expert explanations.

STEEF is really overwhelmingly good. It is more than just eating out. It is an experience in taste, texture, smell and colour. Especially the consistent surprising uniqueness and courage, amaze me time and time again. Already eaten three times and is on top 1, 2 and 3. An absolute must and actually underrated in the sense that it far exceeds Friesland.

With a group of colleagues we had a delicious meal of dishes that you really can't make at home. Flavor bombs that are presented with great care. The space around you is pleasant; you don't see what others have on their plates and you don't hear their conversations. Pricey, but it's definitely worth it if you have something special to celebrate

Our go to in Friesland, truly fantastic surprising dishes, each and every one a delight. And then the combination with genuinely friendly hospitality, an incredible dose of passion for food, wines and the non-alcoholic drinks that are also star-sized simply complete an evening here. Casual atmosphere, great team, fantastic food. That will automatically become quite a few stars, the Gault Millau has rightly put them in the picture and rated them very well.

Outstanding doesn't cover it! Truly fine dining. Eclectic and sometimes whimsical combination that work. Oh, how they work. In this restaurant you eat what the chef Steffan, and his army of assistants bring to the table. In NYC or Dallas you would spend several hundred dollar per person, but here it's much less. Check them out before the glitterati discover them and makes it impossible to get a table! The alcohol free cocktails are amazing as well!

We celebrated our anniversary party at STEEF with a group of 37 people. From the preparation onwards, everything was perfectly arranged. In consultation with us, we were able to celebrate the perfect party. A special menu was also prepared for the children present. All guests were impressed with the food. Worth repeating!

We had a great evening. Staff is great and very alert. But are also open to a chat. The food is amazing and are real works of art. The atmosphere is casual and the seating is spacious.

Christmas Eve in restaurant STEEF: we dined for more than 5 hours but were never bored for a moment. Sublimely flavored oysters, quenelles of butter made with porcini mushrooms, black garlic, goat cheese and red grape juice: perfection! Surprising amuses, signature dishes, enjoyment from start to finish. Attentive service, dishes served with passion. Congratulations to chef and team, great achievement!

Yesterday we had dinner with 8 people in restaurant STEEF. The homely atmosphere makes you immediately feel comfortable. The service is very friendly and the food is delicious. We had the 6 course menu with wine pairing. The wines matched the dishes perfectly. I personally had an alcohol-free package, which is also recommended. Each course includes a suitable non-alcoholic drink, which you will receive explanation about and which also goes well with the dishes you are served. All in all we had a great evening!

The three-course menu including all drinks was sublime. The appetizer macaron is heavenly. Every course perfectly balanced. The service is flawless. Steef is a culinary paradise.

Together with the service under the inspiring leadership of Elke, who together with her crew looks for the nice edge towards the cozy living room through the very desired personal approach. This includes the unbridled knowledge of the wines served and the clear expression of the dishes on the plates. I would have said I'd rather not have fish. Elke knows in a very subtle way how to change tack and yes, she is right because Stefan can certainly surprise non-fishing enthusiasts and for that alone the 5 stars are more than deserved. As we understand, a new card every 10 weeks. Or more than recommended to visit Stefan and Elke if you want to experience a special flavor journey in a special ambiance.

I found this evening very pleasant. I have rarely eaten so well in my life. Every dish looked beautifully prepared and every bite was one big explosion of flavors. We had opted for accompanying non-alcoholic drinks, these were also delicious and paired perfectly.

Als je voor kaas kiest kost dat €7 extra. Maar een chocolaatje bij de koffie kan er niet af! Al met al…..creatief en lekker eten voor veel te hoge prijs

Just now had a delicious meal at STEEF. WHAT A PLEASURE OF SUPER COMPLEMENTARY FLAVORS!!! We had reserved a 4-course dinner where many delicious intermediate dishes were served 😀. Tip: take advantage of the matching wine pairing and the delicious cheese range. It's sublime how this enhances the flavors. All this served by a very committed service who gave good explanations about the dishes and the accompanying wines and ports. A feast of flavors and an evening you will never forget. (With a very beautiful woman in front of me 😉😉😉!!)

What an incredible experience. An innovative kitchen that dares to push the boundaries. What a wonderful team too. Eating at Steef is an experience! Each (intermediate) dish is a work of art; to see and to taste. The wines that are served complete it completely. The service is top notch, you feel completely at ease as soon as you enter.

This is the most amazing culinary experience - it is completely over the top exquisite, beautiful, thoughtful, Leckerer(yummy). The kitchen is kept to impeccable standards with a well trained staff and a Chef that brings you joyful artistic experience. It is a wonderful day when a Chef of this caliber is willing and excited to share his thinking and process. I live and love cooking and this was a lovely date and worth it.

Dit is één van de betere top restaurants van De Friese hoofdstad. Het is hier altijd goed toeven. Met de familie uitstekend gegeten. Mooi menu, heerlijke wijnen en een gezellige sfeer. De nazit aan de bar om daar het nagerecht te nuttigen is altijd leuk. Chef Steef weet ons keer op keer te verrassen en de gerechten worden steeds verfijnder en zijn zeer goed op smaak. De bediening is relaxed en vriendelijk.

We had a 6-course surprise menu with 4 people and the langoustine with different wishes, which was no problem. It was amazing, truly star-worthy! Definitely recommended, we regularly go to star restaurants, but this one is so far the best without a star!

I wanted to make a reservation for my birthday and a pre-payment of 50 Euro is alright. Unfortunately you cannot pay via creditcard nor via paypal. For people from abroad it is impossible to make a reservation as I do not have a Dutch bank account. I will try to find another restaurant for May…

Last night I had dinner here for the first time on the recommendation of a lot of people I know. Immediately upon entering you will notice the space, the calm colors and the extremely tasteful furnishings. The staff is extremely hospitable, personable and knowledgeable. The menu is extremely varied and dish by dish of high quality. Recommended are the spicy cheese board and the charcuterie with homemade pate. The intermediate courses and amuses are also delicious and distinctive. The drinks menu is also at the top level: from Abbey beer to wines, alcohol-free gin and tonics. One of the best Frisian Restaurants and I will come here more often. You too, once you've been here.
