In this vegan restaurant you eat so well that you don't miss meat and dairy etc. at all. It is a cozy restaurant and the service is friendly (too bad not everyone speaks Dutch). Outside in the garden you can also sit. I ate a delicious rendang, unbelievable that you can really taste rendang without meat. So also recommended for non-vegans!

From the outside it doesn't look special, but inside it turns out to be a beautiful old school building. Vegan naked times are excellent. Cashew nut fondue is highly recommended

What a lovely place, so atmospheric. We had a delicious meal, everything prepared with care.

I had a birthday lunch here with 30 guests. Communication beforehand was excellent and clear. It's a beautiful venue with fantastic food! Allergies were also well-considered. And the staff is fantastic, friendly, and pleasant. In short, everything was fantastic and highly recommended!

Ideal place for business meeting. You can hear each other well and there is enough privacy. The space is very tastefully decorated and free parking is possible at the AH around the corner. Pure and animal-free food, so if you want to contribute to a sustainable world, you are also in the right place.

We love to go here. We come for comfort food and big celebrations and everything in between. The only problem is that it is really hard to choose. Apart from a lot of very tempting options in the menu, there is also the daily option, which is a little cheaper and just as good. The building and the room is beautiful and charming, it is however very loud, which is the only real critique. Everyone working at Hagedis seems to love being there and to know a lot about every item on the menu. We love it here.

My favorite restaurant. Everyone here is so nice and hospitable. The food is so delicious. It all looks so beautiful. They also don't play very loud music (you can just hear each other, very unique in 2024). And all without dead animals! Well what more could you want? I wouldn't know! Recently they even helped me with a seagull that had been hit by a car. It really is the best restaurant in the world. <3 <3 <3

Hagedis ya era uno de nuestros lugares favoritos en La Haya, y ahora han actualizado el menú, haciéndolo aún mejor! Sinceramente, es difícil elegir entre las maravillosas opciones creativas a la carta y los deliciosos menús diarios. Nuestra reciente visita con la familia del extranjero fue una experiencia fantástica. El lugar tiene un poco de un factor sorpresa con su hermoso espacio, y el personal experto y amable hizo que todos se sintieran como en casa. En la habitación principal, los techos de 5 metros de altura pueden hacer que el espacio sea un poco ruidoso, lo que amplifica el ambiente feliz del lugar y hace que las conversaciones al otro lado de la mesa sean un poco desafiantes. En resumen, sigue siendo uno de los mejores lugares de La Haya.

Plenty of choice for the vegans among us. Even as a meat eater I had a great meal there

The new map was ready. We were surprised by the chef. We started with a large platter of antipasti. In a word, divine! Then we had curry and again it was very tasty, you can taste the love for preparing all this delicious food. And now dessert has yet to come. Big compliment to the lizard, see you next time😘👍👍

Great spot. Had a two course vegan meal. Very fresh and tasty ingredients. Staff are attentive and patient towards dietary needs. Outdoor seating in the sun was lovely.

Haven't had such a tasty meal in a long time! Vegan at its best. The service is also very friendly and creates a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. The building itself - the old Hague University of Applied Sciences - and the decoration complete the experience. Thanks for the wonderful evening!

I went there with a big group and I made the reservation in advance. The restaurant owner was nice and she is also the main chef. She gave us two big tables and personally made sure that we had a nice time. We spent 4 hours there and they didn't interrupt at all. The whole menu is very nice and tasty. The interior is amazing as it feels to be a church. I would love to go there when they launch a new menu. Highly recommend to go for 3 course meal as it is value for money and the experience is great.

Excellent food, great ambience and really wonderful service!! We went with our 2.5yr old toddler and they had options to keep him engaged.. the fact that he finished his entire meal is a testimony to the great atmosphere:-) we are definitely going back!

Overal: great for drinks, deserts and good vibe but not for the main dishes. Food-wise: I find the selection of main dishes quite small, not very impressive and dishes themselves quite small and quite expensive (~17€/meal) Desert-wise: they have a great selection of vegan options Vibe/ interior: amazing! Eating out is a total experience. When all goes well, the food is of course good, the service is friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere and decor are appropriate. We were kindly received by an English-speaking girl, who told us that we could only choose a table for two, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Although the large, high space is beautiful, it is also cold in terms of temperature. As a starter we had the oyster mushroom bitterballen and the gyoza. Both were very good and tasty. As a main course we chose the pita with oyster mushroom shawarma and roasted sweet potato. This was quite disappointing. The pita and potato were both quite small. There was some lettuce and vegetables, but the whole thing had little taste. The service was now done by a Dutch-speaking woman, who was little interested in her work. The grand dessert ordered afterwards was also placed on the table without any explanation. In terms of taste and decoration, it was not clear what was great about this dessert. We eat vegetarian and vegan more often and so we know how delicious this can be. Unfortunately, the Lizard was quite disappointing.

We found the food mediocre. A board with various snacks in advance that were excellent. Main course I had a curry which was mainly full of tofu. Quite flat in taste. Dessert of the day was an orange tart which tasted good, but the cherry pie had a really strange taste. Service was friendly and the margaritas were very good. Had a nice evening, but you shouldn't necessarily go here for the food.

Delicious food and cozy atmosphere! The front also looks super nice. My only point is that there could be a cushion on the seats. That becomes a bit (I find) uncomfortable after a while.

I went with a big group, personally I had very tasty food, except for the desert. Some of my friends had food that was not very tasty. The time we waited for the food was extremely long. Overall I won't go back

It is a restaurant with a beautiful authentic interior. The food is well prepared. The staff knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Eten was niet heel bijzonder. Zouden we zelf ook kunnen maken (ook qua ingrediënt keuze). Bijv een simpele bouillon met wat groenten die dan 6 euro is. En smaakte echt niet bijzonder. Super mooie locatie wel. Heel gezellig! Bijv het Vegan kaasplankje had maar 1 soort kaas, ik had gehoopt om meerdere soorten te proberen! Hoopte echt meer bijzondere Vegan opties te proeven!

Das Gebäude ist wunderschön. Der Gastraum ist schön gestaltet, jedoch nicht herausragend gemütlich, was zu einer eher lebhaften als intimen Atmosphäre führt. Der Service war locker und soweit in Ordnung, die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und sympathisch. Die Speisen waren lecker, jedoch Handwerklich unausgereift. Die Preise sind dafür okay. Es gab kleine Pannen mit dem Essen und der Sitz der Toilette war defekt, was hoffentlich kein Dauerzustand ist. Wirklich gestört hat mich, dass die Preisklasse der Weine nicht mit dem Konzept harmoniert. Wenn die Flasche Rotwein 34€ kostet, sollte dieser nicht in Weißweingläsern mit Wasserfecken serviert werden. Alles in Allem waren meine Erwartungen an das Essen höher. Ich würde vielleicht in einem anderen Kontext wieder kommen.

A great place for dinner. Great theme and good staff. The ambience was very nice and cool people. Its present on the main road, so super easy to find out.

This was my favourite place in the city, however they stopped doing the vegan fondue. I wish they still had that, please consider bringing it back! That's why 4 stars instead of 5.

Leuk restaurant, beetje verscholen en in een oud schoolgebouw dat de nodige relaxte sfeer geeft. Aardig personeel, deels Engelstalig. Menu’s zijn goed met mooie smaken. Menukaart met een klein aantal keuzes die goed op elkaar afgestemd zijn. Veganistisch en grotendeels biologisch. Voor mij had er wel iets meer groente bij gemogen, maar dat is wellicht persoonlijk.

Wat een vriendelijke bediening, gezellige relaxte sfeer en heerlijk eten. Top restaurant!

Fiets al jaren langs deze plek en vorig jaar pas het restaurant ontdekt. Afgelopen vrijdag voor het eerst hier gegeten en het was heerlijk! De gerechten zijn super mooi en met het wijnarrangement is het echt een bijzondere ervaring. Het enige puntje van kritiek wat ik mee wil geven is dat het leuk zou zijn als er ook een uitleg bij de wijn zou zijn, dit zou het net wat meer bijzonder maken. Wij komen zeker terug! Een unieke plek in de stad.

Waren hier 24 dec 2022 voor het kerstavond diner. Een ware smaak-explosie. Professionele bediening, mooi geserveerde vegan gerechten, kortom een fantastisch kerstmenu in 'dier-nee' stijl!

Eerste kerstdag hebben we hier gegeten. Het eten is prima en het is er gezellig. En natuurlijk vegan, dus geen dierenleed, top!

Het eten was niet heel spectaculair. De bediening was ook niet geweldig. Daarnaast kregen wij onze hoofdgerecht geserveerd voor de voorgerecht. Werd niet opgelost. Ze hebben ons verteld dat we ons voorgerecht als tussengerecht moesten zien…

Wat een fijne plek! Heerlijke cashew-kaasfondue en lieve medewerkers. Kom hier graag nog eens terug ♥️

Lovely food but was served gluten bread when double checked it was gluten free, and when trying to pay no Mastercard or visa was accepted and staff were not helpful for an alternative.

Excellent, delicious, a dream. I think anyone with celiac who is also vegan would feel in heaven at this place. Finally, someone takes care to give variety and foodie levels of innovation to vegan food that is at once gluten-free. I had the vegan nachos and my husband (a non-vegan who went just to support me) had the three-course menu. All of the food was exceptional and nourishing. The thing that impressed me the most, food-wise, though was the desser. A vegan pumpkin ice cream with pecans and grapes. At first I chuckled „why grapes?!“ Then I realized that the grapes were warm! And somehow this amazing combo was so so good together with warm grapes 😋. Thank you for this restaurant, and I can only hope more and more like it emerge on this planet. Only in Netherlands will it be this lovely though ❤️. (I say that as a Swiss resident who has been to vegan luxury Hiltl a lot but this here at Hagedis is something so special.)

Great vegan restaurant! We had a really nice vegan "kaasfondue" which was delicious and innovative. The service was so nice and lovely. The interior is great as well, we felt totally comfortable and had a great evening. We will be back, when in den haag next time :)

Super lekker, verantwoord en gezond gegeten. Fijne bediening en een heel relaxed sfeertje, dus echt een aanrader!

We hadden gereserveerd voor 2 personen om 19 u. Helaas was er iets mis gegaan in de planning, we moesten even plaats nemen aan de bar. Uiteindelijk kregen we om 20 u pas een voorafje. We hadden het gevoel niet welkom te zijn. Geen vriendelijke bediening. Niet even tussendoor vragen of alles naar wens was. We werden niet gezien!! De entourage is prachtig, het eten gewoon. Geen bijzondere gerechten. Er moet toch wat veranderen. En beter plannen!!!

Wir fanden das Essen sehr gut. Preislich nicht grade günstig, aber noch vertretbar. Der Gastraum ist sehr schön, die Akustik und der Lärmpegel können bei voller Auslastung bestimmt nerven.

Ouderwets lekker. Vroeger kwam ik hier zeer regelmatig doch de laatste jaren groeit het aantal vega restaurants in den haag gestaag. Erg lekker gegeten met het 5- gangenmenu en werkelijk uitstekende bediening! Een aanrader. Eerst gaan ze even op vakantie.

Wat hebben wij uitstekend vegetarisch gegeten. In een hee erg mooie ambiance. Fijne bediening. De gerechten waren zeer origineel en met aandacht bereid.

El lugar es un hermoso edificio de la vieja escuela. El menú es vegetariano y hay demasiadas opciones deliciosas para una sola visita. Los entrantes llegaron rápido y eran lo suficientemente grandes como para ser un plato principal. También compartimos una fondue de queso y fue la mejor que he probado. Tuve un helado de calabaza que no me decepcionó y el brownie fue una forma sabrosa de terminar la noche también. El personal de espera es muy amable y las comidas no tardaron mucho después de ordenar que se sirviera. Definitivamente regresaría.
