Great view, friendly service. And delicious food. Excellent!

Nice location but poor customer service and unhelpful manager - we decided to leave before food arrived. Plenty of better places to choose from in this quaint and quirky little place - we had a fun day in Urk despite this disappointing restaurant : )

Excellent restaurant, wheelchair accessible entrance (elevator), very pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Outside, it was drab and dull, but inside it was very quiet and dark. The food wasn't great: a small, thin sole for €25. It could have been much better; I'll go to the fishmonger in URK next time.

Had a lovely lunch here, a beautiful location with a fantastic view of the harbor. The "hot smoked salmon" was unfortunately served straight from the refrigerator and (sorry to say) rather tasteless. I imagine a smoked salmon sandwich with beautifully sliced ​​salmon. This was a piece of salmon that should have been placed in large chunks on a sandwich. It's a shame, because the location is priceless.

Great service and fantastic food.

Nice rooftop terrace in beautiful weather. It wasn't open, and what was open had people smoking. Ugh, we told them twice that we didn't want to sit in the smoke. We asked three times for a place to sit, but this part wasn't open yet. We really wanted to sit outside and were told to go inside. A big disappointment. The staff could have been friendlier. Partly because of this experience, I decided to just have coffee and not eat there, and I won't go back either.

Expensive for what it is... I recommend choosing the dish of the day. The fish was excellent. But for my friends, the schnitzel was simply frozen, and too expensive!

The location of Achterhuis is really nice – right by the water with a great view, and free parking is also a plus. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The menu said “two plaice” for two people, but we were served only half a fish per person. The side dishes (fries and rice) were also served on just one plate for two guests, far too little. In the end, we received only half the amount of food but were charged the full/double price. Such a pity, because with this location and view we had expected a much better overall experience.

We had the special fresh mussels. Many were still closed or empty, and the mussels were very small. Otherwise, they were good, but very salty, which is a shame. Last year they were fantastic, but this year they were much worse.

Ik heb gisteren in deze restaurant gegeten het eten was niet bijzonder ik had een trio visschotel. Maar het personeel is waardeloos we gingen ergens zitten werden we eerst gevraagd om ergens anders te zitten en vervolgens waren we nog niet klaar en ze wilde ons borden al weghalen en toen we klaar waren willen ze meteen weten of we een toetje wil aan het veelste gehaast personeel alsof ze geen zin had om te werken en liever naar huis wilde gaan

The coffee was nice. Unfortunately no menu was available and besides being asked what we wanted to drink, the service was non existent.

There were six of us, and only my meal was bad. The fish salad was a finely chopped mixed lettuce, grandma's style: two hard-boiled egg slices, slices of gherkin, tomato, surprisingly two black olives, and pink shrimp. This was all drizzled with a mayonnaise dressing. Three pieces of fish were on top, and after they were eaten, there was mayonnaise left with... brrr. Price? €22. The price-quality ratio is poor. The dishes are far too expensive for what they are served. Not recommended!

We ate a trio of fish (salmon, sole, pike-perch) and a pork tenderloin with a mushroom cream sauce (no mushrooms visible). It came with fries and canned or frozen vegetables. The food had no crunch or flavor. The price is far too high for this kind of food, despite the excellent service and the beautiful view. It's a good place for drinks, but not for a proper meal.

My Dutch friends bought me over to Urk on their boat and I insisted I was going to treat them to dinner so they made reservations for this place. There was plenty of room so we sat inside at a table overlooking the boat docking. The menu was in Dutch so I had my friend help me but I think I still didn't totally understand it all. They ordered fish and pork tenderloin and I ordered the very expensive surf and turf steak and gambas. I thought potatoes came with it and I asked if I could have potatoes that were not French fries. My friend got us a bottle of wine for the table and we ordered bottled waters as well. The steak was cooked medium rare as I requested, I should have asked for a steak knife as it was tough to cut with a regular table knife. I am used to having the kitchen slice a thick steak and present it on a board. French fries were put on the table and I remarked that I thought I was to get other potatoes so after a wait, a bowl of fried potato chunks was presented which isn't much different than French fries. Surrounding my steak was some measly mushy unappetizing vegetables and the gambas were in some sort of a sauce which I wish I could have known what it was as I got terribly ill on our walk back to the boat. My friends seemed satisfied with their choices but none of us were impressed with the food. We asked for 2 more waters which we never got. When paying there was a 5 euro charge for these extra potatoes I ordered and I guess I didn't understand when ordering we were getting French fries and these were an extra charge. They were late coming to the table and we really ate very little of them. My dinner was very expensive at 37.50 plus the extra 5 for the potatoes and I was not satisfied with any of it, the steak was not flavourful and hard to cut. I didn't eat much of it. The gambas sauce made me sick. This was a complete waste of money and we were sorry we came. There is nothing special about this place.

We had delicious mussels and scallops. These chefs know how to give each dish just the right amount of cooking and flavor. A real treat! Lovely rooftop terrace, and when it got chilly, moving inside was no problem!

I think they didn't like that we were there just to have a drink. Were treated sullenly. Asked for ice cubes and got the answer "we don't have any ice!" I think that could have been said a bit nicer. And why doesn't a restaurant have ice cubes 😑

We had ordered potatoes instead of fries, but had to pay 5 euros for them afterwards, was not told, and was not returned. Very bad.

Found the presentation of the food very simple compared to the price. I had a salmon sandwich. The salmon was barely tasteable, simple paper container with dressing, and a container with salad. And that for a price of €16.50. My partner's fried egg was also poor in taste and presentation. Our son also fancied a fried egg. Only he could never finish a regular fried egg, so we asked for one egg. That was no problem, but he got it in a deep plate and it was very uncomfortable to eat. We will not eat anything here again.

Location great… food flop Unfortunately we were totally blinded by the great location at the harbor… Restaurant ok, staff tried hard but the food wasn't good at all. Schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce for €24.50… you expect a bit. But what came was a flat frozen schnitzel... not juicy but dry with a sauce made from watery canned mushrooms. Plus a vegetable tossed in curry (with the schnitzel? - strange combination) Each schnitzel was served with fries, salad and mayo. There were four of us and we had a bowl of fries and a mini salad for everyone... to share? It wasn't intended that way, was it? So we definitely don’t recommend it!!!

Niet heel erg bijzonder. Zeer beperkte vegetarische opties. De gepofte aardappel was meer een in de schil gekookte aardappel dan echt gepoft en ook niet echt gaar (erg hard nog). Vissalade was prima, frietjes lekker. Denk dat ze erg gericht zijn op klanten die toch maar een keer komen en daardoor niet erg hun best doen.

Gewoon lekker restaurant waar alles klopt. Goede bediening, lekker eten zowel vis als ook vlees. Mooie tafel aan het raam.Komen graag terug.

Delicious food, perfect staff and a beautiful view of the harbor of Urk.

We spent a weekend in Urk together and ate here. We had a trio of meat with chateaubriand, chicken and pork tenderloin for 2 people. Food was great, very tasty and more than enough. The meat platter was presented very nicely. Even though it was very busy with 2 other parties, the service was very friendly and fast. Definitely recommended and would love to come back!

Menu has little choice and I am forced to take a combination deal per person, very expensive!! Salmon was tasty and steak tips, but the prawns were not fresh, they came from the freezer and were very hard. The dessert was a Dam Blance, but I found it easily on a plate, which I could also make at home. It was not a second time for me. I found it very disappointing and the prices were too high. Little variety.

Nooit meer alle andere leuke tentjes voorbij lopen om vervolgens te worden uitgekleed. Ja, ik weet het: Je doet het zelf maar het mag wel wat minder voor de kwaliteit want echt bijzonder is het zeker niet. Een snackbar is zeker net zo goed. Op de rekening staat onderaan: "Bedankt voor uw bezoek" Dat snap ik maar wij komen daar nooit meer.

Excellent location, fast service, satisfying food, reasonably priced.

Ordered from the lunch menu; Bouncer Achterhuis and 12 O'Clock. The stew (bouncer) did not really match the flavor of the bouncer. Already lubricated between them. But maybe this is a regional dish? The 12 Hour had tomato soup, but it seemed like it came straight from the can. Much too thick a layer of butter on the bread. Quite pricey, not really worth repeating.

What a nice, cozy and surprisingly nice restaurant! Visited Urk by motorcycle. Met super nice people, spontaneously on the street and the secret annex was the icing on the cake. Almost literally. Delicious food, beautiful view and humorous yet friendly service. Definitely recommended!

We ordered a lunch for €17.50. Canned tomato soup and meatballs. The bouncer was cold and just a croquette on simple buns. Also bowl of coleslaw from a large container. Sandwich was floating in tomato soup, because the waiter was a little too enthusiastic. Tables were not cleared. Smoking is allowed everywhere. In short, a disillusionment in the Secret Annex. Shame.

Had lunch on Friday, sat outside on the terrace. The Urker menu was excellent with perfectly cooked cod. A very big surprise, the crème brulle was perfect!! I want to eat here every week. French

A fabulous restaurant in Urk. They treated us wonderfully and we felt very comfortable. It has a terrace with views of the spectacular port. The waiters treated us excellently. The best mussels I have ever eaten. Thank you !

The most beautiful place in Urk for a good meal! Beautiful view! Delicious food. Smooth operation! The food arrived quickly and drinks were always brought. Butter menu was more than sufficient and very tasty and certainly not expensive! Super nice service! We sat on the terrace with a truly beautiful view of the harbor and the IJsselmeer. Phenomenal! We will definitely come here again!

Incredibly bad experience. Wanted to have a bite to eat here and it was very quiet in the restaurant. Waited for a while for service that never came. Finally we left. Not recommended for us!

Slechte ervaring in ‘t Achterhuis. Je komt binnen, staan 3 personeelsleden bij de bar, niet een van hun verwelkomde ons. Begonnen met drie drankjes, dit ging al meteen fout. Dure gerechten, weinig op je bord. Kijkend naar de kaart, eerder een te dure snackbar dan een (vis) restaurant aan de haven. Conclusie: Je geld nNIEY waard.

Had a beer on the terrace this afternoon. We didn't think it was clean. Lots of cobwebs and insects on and against the plastic windows. I sat with my knees under the table in the cobwebs. So as a tip I would like to give you to clean the plastic windows, tables and chairs more often.

Had lunch and dinner. One of the few open on Sundays. Very friendly and very nice location. Very tasty meal.

The food was definitely not worth the money. Mini ready-made salad, ready-made sauces, the fish cooked way too long, the pork fillet dry. We used to enjoy coming here often, but that's now gone.
