Cozy, good food, very large portions

Unfortunately, our visit to Hof van Ede was very disappointing. The food was generally mediocre, not freshly prepared, and most dishes were lukewarm to even cold. The dessert selection was very limited and looked plain. The cocktails weren't freshly made, but came from a bottle, even though you pay a premium for that. The atmosphere was also disappointing: it felt more like a bingo hall than a cozy restaurant. There was no music in the background, which quickly made the atmosphere feel cold and uninviting. When we gave our feedback about the cocktails, the owner immediately started arguing with us without being open to our story. As a "compensation," she ultimately only removed one of the two cocktails from the bill. I'm honestly surprised by the many positive reviews, because I'm definitely not one to complain or write a bad review – but this was absolutely terrible. All in all, not an experience that invites us to return.

The food was excellent! The sushi and teppanyaki dishes were excellent, although the ribs were a bit dry—but that was the only dish of the 20 or so we had. The service and preparation were always fast and attentive.

We recently had dinner here with our team from Mondzorg de Veluwe. It was delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely. We had a wonderful time!

Beautiful place with very friendly staff. I enjoyed sitting outside for a drink, although it did feel a bit understaffed at times. They also have a mini golf course, which is a fun and easy way to keep the kids entertained.

If you're here for all-you-can-eat, you've come to a great place. No time pressure; you can stay all evening if you like. The prices are lower than at the "veetschuren," the dishes are larger, and the presentation on your plate is much nicer. Drinks are not included in the price but are reasonably priced. Ordering at the table is easy via an iPad. It's also fast. The food arrives quickly. The only downside was that our empty plates and glasses were often not taken away, which quickly led to a pile-up. It would also be nice if there was a play area for children, so they could let off steam while their parents were still eating. Other than that, I highly recommend a visit!

Today we enjoyed a delicious extensive lunch at the atmospheric Restaurant Hof van Ede, a beautiful, spacious restaurant. Ample parking. A huge variety of delicious dishes, prepared with care. Every dish was great! The dessert buffet was also excellent. The service was exceptionally friendly, smooth and attentive. Daisy and Lucas, thank you very much, we enjoyed the lunch and your hospitality, we will definitely be back soon! Restaurant Hof van Ede is highly recommended!

Food is of good quality and there is enough choice. Too bad that the cold dishes are served at room temperature. That detracts from the taste. Staff is friendly.

We came here for the first time in April and we were satisfied. We could sit there all day with our 2 small children and the food was delicious. I had made a reservation by phone for today to celebrate my husband's birthday here. Indicated that I wanted all you can eat without a time limit like last time and that was fine. Once we arrived we were told that we could only order a la carte, and if we wanted all you can eat we could not order rice, sushi or sashimi because that was not ready yet. Moreover, we had to leave after 3 hours. The waitress did not respond to my message about the reservation. She also refused to activate our 2-year-old daughter as a person on the tablet (this had been done last time so that she could eat with us), and did not ask the owner for a solution because she indicated that he would nag her and "we could order a new dish every 10 minutes". Moreover, with 30 degrees there was no air conditioning inside and we could not sit outside because we wanted all you can eat and they do not serve that outside. After half an hour we left. Nowhere on the website are these special, renewed rules and the way the communication went is not okay. A miscommunication can happen, but as a restaurant you should think along about a solution. For 4 small dishes we paid the main price a la carte, because we had no other choice... unfortunately not for us anymore.

Great restaurant. Friendly staff. We didn't have to wait long for our first drink. The first round of food was also quick. Everything was nice and warm and the taste as expected. Portions were quite big. Overall recommended.

Way too expensive! Price/quality not in proportion! Atmosphere meh.. Overdue maintenance. Benches sag. I sat diagonally. Kitchen very dirty. Food came so quickly as if it was not freshly prepared. The chef came several times to get half liters of beer for staff in the kitchen. Staff came before and behind us to eat their full plates of food. Then the bill came. €204,- for 4 people. Had 2 drinks each.

Difficult for older semesters because food orders have to be done digitally with a tablet. However, once you get the hang of it, it works great.

Ate here with friends. Friendly welcome and pleasant explanation of how to order via the iPad. The dishes were always served quickly and the quality and taste were excellent. The only downside was that the table was no longer cleared towards the end of the evening. Price level is on the high side, but the quality and taste of the food justify this price level.

Had lunch here today, sloppy service, very minimal food. Bouncer on a hard roll, egg fried on both sides and bacon not found even though we had ordered it. This was indicated at checkout, but a very lukewarm response. Too bad...we won't go there anymore.

Ate here for the third time. The food is really fantastic, lots of delicious dishes, fast and friendly service and a great concept. You can only order 1 dish per round, but there is no time limit. So you can eat and enjoy in peace. And you finally know what you have on your plate, instead of having 4 dishes of which you no longer know what it is.... Absolutely recommended!!

Very impersonal. Hof van Ede has been stuck in the corona period. Order via a tablet and your order will be delivered. Very cold and impersonal. If a robot brings it next time I wouldn't be surprised.

Unfortunately, the good expectations I had for this restaurant were not fulfilled at all. Food mainly fried instead of grilled. Little flavoured. Service sad. Young guys who didn't know what they were doing and didn't get any input into it. That doesn't really bother me, but this level was sad.

Nice place to sit and have something to eat, or just drink coffee. No frills restaurant. Dogs are also allowed, both outside and inside. Recommended.

Sufficient choice regarding the dishes. Dishes tasted great. Small tip: put a small bowl where you can put the soy sauce for the sushi. And also add chopsticks for the sushi. Eating sushi with chopsticks is a slightly different experience than eating sushi with a knife and fork.

Very good dishes, better than many other "all you can eat" restaurants. Despite the crowds, the service was always able to reach us, so that we never felt hungry or thirsty. To be honest, we had slightly higher expectations in advance

The food was generally tasty. The venison steak and the other steak were far too well done, but the salmon and cod were delicious. A little more garlic with the prawns and escargot is welcome. 😉

The food was nothing special. Unfortunately, they do not know the phenomenon of an allergy. We report three times that someone has a mustard allergy and she still gets a plate with lettuce on it and mustard dressing. Then the waitress just wants to get another plate without lettuce, to which we said that this is really not possible. If our friend ingests mustard, you can call Ambu. Only when we said that did she start arranging a whole new order. I really don't think this is possible. This is the second time this has happened here. And the last time because we won't be eating here again anytime soon.
