Delicious food, friendly service

As the name suggests, this restaurant truly delivers on quality. The cooking is top-notch. Fresh ingredients are used, and the food is seasoned to perfection. We found it to be top-notch. Every ingredient in the dishes was exquisitely flavorful. And the price is very reasonable for the excellent quality. It's a family-run business, and that's reflected in everything. Everything is impeccable, from the service to the kitchen and the details in the restaurant.

We had a delicious meal on a weeknight, the interior is beautiful, and the hostess gave us a warm welcome throughout the evening, keeping a close eye on our needs (e.g., an English menu for our international guest without even having to ask). This was certainly not the case. Wines (rosé and Malbec), a tuna amuse-bouche, appetizers (oysters and a classic carpaccio), and delicious main courses of meat and fish. There was no room for dessert, but we did have good coffee. All in all, a successful evening and definitely worth repeating!

There was a fish special, but I never do that unless the sea is nearby. I ordered satay. Meat pieces in a pan; that's a "first," but a great idea. No vegetables :-(. Dessert was also a classic: dame blanche. And it was just as it should be: chocolate sauce that was congealing. Including a beer, we're €50 down the line; not the best value for money. Likely to return: slim

Ambiance spacious. Nice bar, decor has a touch of industrial, rural with a bit of a hotel look. Enjoyed the starters: carpaccio and carrot tartare. Surprising that there was sweetbread on the menu. Mild in taste with fine vegetables. Portions pleasantly sized. (not fine dining) sole was good but could have been more flavourful. All desserts accompanied by a large scoop of ice cream. Excellent food for a hefty price. Improvement possible for the cappuccino. Coffee could have more flavour.

Unfortunately not a very good experience! For those who like fish probably a good address, but for us meat eaters there was not much choice. We noticed that jus de veau was served with six main courses and a lot of fries. The fried potatoes that we ordered turned out to be fried potatoes and medium fried with a completely raw inside. The ordered pepper sauce had not come through and was freshly made, unfortunately our food was not synchronized because the steak had to be put in the pan again and the pepper sauce curdled. Plus point: the vegetarian risotto was delicious! Another small negative point: the hostess saw us leave the restaurant but did not bother to say goodbye. All in all, not worth repeating for us.

Ended up here through reviews. 4.6 seems quite good, chance of disappointment is small. What is immediately noticeable is that there is hardly anyone sitting there and that the entourage looks dark and gloomy. Took bisque, great taste, nice and warm, just 1 prawn and nothing else. I experienced that as bare bones and still €15. Main was an Easter special with asparagus and rack of lamb. 4 large asparagus on the plate, a cold pile (kind of puree) with some egg flavor and the rack. I saw little imagination there and quite a bit of 4 of those things without anything on it. A nice poached egg or something with chives/parsley would have been an option. Anyway, the chef's choices. The rack of lamb was way over. So completely gray on the inside. I reported that and went to get new ones. The board is then empty and the new ones arrived. Better, but if you prepare rack of lamb like this then you really don't understand it. I didn't return that, but just said the new ones were better than the first ones. They should be a beautiful pink red and super tender. Take a course with the chef. The dish was just €35, which I think is way too much for the quality and creativity, which for me is clearly below par. I don't have to go here anymore. I skipped dessert.

Nice restaurant with good atmosphere. The decor is very cozy and the tables are well spaced. The menu is extensive and every dish is a sight to behold. And more importantly, delicious food. The service is professional and customer-oriented. It's always a treat to eat here! See you soon xxx

The service was impressive. Our hostess was professional, attentive and had an impeccable sense of timing. Our drinks were refilled very quickly and we really felt pampered. Her hospitality and expertise added to the luxurious atmosphere of the evening. A restaurant where craftsmanship, service and ambiance come together for an unforgettable experience. Definitely recommended for those looking for a refined culinary experience!

It felt so good, like we were eating at home. The space is cozy and everyone was friendly and made it a party! We will definitely come back!

Good food and nice and close to the soldier of Orange. You will leave with a well-filled belly, but pay attention to the price, before you know it you will have lost quite a bit.

Due to my allergy, I was contacted in advance about my menu choice. Responded promptly! Ate there last week, it was quiet, check the menu choice again in advance. Delicious food (different sauce, a little too salty) but it did not dominate my choice for duck breast. more than sufficient, beautiful in layout. But what was especially important was that I had no allergic reaction! I wasn't able to try the dessert menu, but I'll have to do that next time. Definitely worth repeating.

Nice restaurant, spacious, so you don't have to sit with your chair against the person behind you or people will take the food off your plate. A lot of care for the customer and the court. They really do their utmost to observe all restaurant etiquette. Dishes are prepared with care and are a feast for the eyes. The price quality is really very good, especially because of the excellent service. That makes it more than worth the price. People expect to eat everywhere like at Librije, but for half the price and without ever having been there. And that is the bar against which they measure everything. And base their review on that. De Baron is a wonderful restaurant, with excellent service and beautiful dishes.

Due to circumstances it was too late to go to the restaurant where we had made a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, nothing could be done about it, but we still wanted to eat something. Then a little closer to home. We were still able to stay here and had a great meal! The glass of cava with oysters made it a festive evening!

The table was served by multiple persons, which I believe is the reason why some wrong foods were billed and may explain the long waiting times. The menu took half an hour to receive, and other new tables after us received the menu first. The time between drinks and the courses became impatiently long. The food tasted nice, but sort of cold as if it was for too long under a heating light.

I must say that it is the first time I have been to a culinary restaurant. The restaurant all to ourselves. No one else. The restaurant was nice, but the food was a bit disappointing. It just wasn't all that. For what it cost it was very disappointing.

We had a delicious meal here. We took an Amarone wine and were served it in a simple glass that you would serve wine in in a café. Taste and smell did not come into their own here. We asked for different glasses, which the staff understood. But they didn't have that. The owners did not make this a priority. Sorry, but as a restaurateur you don't understand what drinking wine is. How expensive are (for example) Burgunder glasses?? Then don't put Amarone's or Barolo's on the menu and don't call yourself Baron. Barons drink from real wine glasses. Very unfortunate, but the food was once again great! Do something about it owners, it is a minimal (and not expensive) effort with maximum results. Gr

This restaurant was on my shortlist of favorite restaurants in Ede. I hadn't been there since the new owners took over. The menu looks promising. We're looking forward to it! And then: warm welcome by the hostess (owner?). Afterwards it turns out that she is the only one who has a heart in the catering industry. A nice boy is also walking around. Clearly not yet very experienced, but very friendly and willing. The starter is served. Delicious lobster bisque with a large shrimp and tail in it. Difficult to remove the tail with a spoon. The main menu was promising. Rack of lamb just gravy from hay. The gravy didn't taste like hay, but there was hay on the rack of lamb that was still completely raw on the inside. This was taken back to the kitchen with the comment that they were going to bake it some more. In the meantime, my love's tournedos appeared to have been halved and then further baked and placed on top of each other. When I got my rack of lamb back it was still uncuttable and too raw. They offered to cut the rack in the kitchen, but I was done with it. I cut off the tasty bits and left the rest. The vegetables were very tasty. The restaurant is now no longer on my shortlist. Maybe just a bad evening in the kitchen, but with the prices charged you can expect quality.

A beautiful restaurant with lovely chairs. The restaurant is large, but few tables were occupied. The service is friendly. The menu is limited but there is something for everyone. Unfortunately, the execution of the dishes was not all good and tasty. Tournedos was raw instead of medium, even after being back in the kitchen. The bisque tasted burnt. The wild boar tongue was very dry. And so on. The quantity was on the meager side. The fries with the main course were a very welcome addition to fill the stomach. The layout of the plates is standard and not adjusted per dish. For the price you pay, you expect it all to taste fantastic, to be prepared and to be executed top notch. That was very disappointing to us. This was the first, but also the last time for us.

Very attentive staff at the cloakroom. Service in style and without just putting something on the table. Our food choice was completely to our liking.

Was echt leuk en lekker. Ongedwongen.

Vandaag met mijn ouders en man bij De baron van Ede geweest. Heel goede kwaliteit en echt heel lekker gegeten. Fijn dat de kaart echt voor ieder wat wils is, de steak tartaar, surf en turf en de varkensmedaillons waren allen heerlijk. Ook het kaasplankje toe was goed gevuld. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!

Fantastisch eten en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Zeker een aanrader. Alleen akoustiek ondermaats voor een slechthorende (zoals ik), veel last van luidruchtige gezelschap.

Een gastvrij restaurant in Ede met een prettige bediening. Een 'hidden gem'. Een plek voor fine dining, wat zowel leuk is voor de beginner als ook voor de gevorderde, die een beetje uitdaging kan waarderen. Leuk om een hele avond te zitten met een goed glas wijn, een lekkere amuse aangevuld met een 2 of 3-gangenmenu. Kortom: een leuke en verassende plek in Ede, waar je het niet van verwacht.

Op aanraden van onze buren hier wezen eten. En binnen twee weken nog eens... Een dat terwijl we eigenlijk altijd naar een ander restaurant gaan. Het is binnen heel gezellig en chique. Er waren niet veel mensen een dat voelde een beetje onwennig naar we werden op handen gedragen. Alles is mogelijk, een proeverij waarbij dingen weg gelaten mogen worden, dingen toegevoegd mogen worden of porties aangepast kunnen worden. Op voorhand gaven we een keer aan dat we nog een andere afspraak hadden en dus niet lang en uitgebreid konden blijven dineren, ook dit was geen enkel probleem. Mijn man heeft een maagverkleining gehad en heeft moeite met grotere porties en meerdere gangen. Hier denken ze echt uitstekend in mee. De carpaccio smelt weg op je tong, zo mals. Chapeau! Ook de wijn is heerlijk! Als wij zonder de kids gaan eten komen we hier zeker terug! Een dikke tien!

Top! Bij binnenkomst gezellig ontvangen. Een prachtige zaak, ruim opgezet zorgt voor privacy aan tafel! Het eten was super. Steak tartaar, tournedos + dame blanche. Allen ontzettend goed van smaak. Mooi opgemaakte borden. Leuke bediening! Wij komen hier zeker terug!

Warme en professionele bediening, heerlijk eten in goede porties. Zeker een aanrader!

De Baron biedt sinds recent een lunchmogelijkheid. Echter, het etablissement was op één ander stel leeg. Mede agv de donkere inrichting voelde het ongezellig. De lunchkaart is bijzonder karig met zelfs lege insteekhoezen ... Bij het opnemen vd bestelling werden alle wijnglazen van tafel gehaald (?). Dat maakte de al kale tafel ook niet gezelliger... 'Zou de wijn op zijn' vroegen wij ons af. De bestelde geitenkaas salade werd mooi opgemaakt gepresenteerd. De geitenkaas zelf was van de pittigste variant - best een risico voor neutralere liefhebbers. Het 'broodje Caprese' was ondermaats (zie foto). Een wit afbakbroodje op een wit bord - dat oogt al kaal. Verder een minieme dressing, met wel smeuïge mozarella en plakjes tomaat. Ik weet niet of ik de basilicum heb teruggevonden in de jungle van rucola. De bediening was vriendelijk en de Verdejo wijn was top! Maar het totaal van sfeer/prijs/kwaliteit niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Mogelijk zijn de diners beter verzorgd.

Nog niet bezocht, wel de menukaart bekeken en kon mijn goedkeuring zeker dragen. Daadwerkelijke beoordeling volgt nog. De 4 sterren zijn alleen al voor de menukaart en de uitstraling die de buitenkant geeft.

Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten. Echt een avond uit. Voldoende pauze tussen de gerechten. Super gastvrij en een fijne sfeer. Een bijzondere en hele leuke manier van bonbons en likeurtjes presenteren.

Een beetje een tegenvaller: de steaktartaar was te veel gepeperd. Dat had niet met smaak te maken. Het hoofdgerecht was prima. We zaten al meer dan een uur binnen en werden gebeld door de eigenaar waar we bleven. Bij het weggaan stonden we nog even na te praten en werd door de eigenaar het gesprek bot afgebroken want er was iemand die wou afrekenen. Voor ons missen we de sfeer die er altijd hing, en het eten is gewoon minder goed. Het personeel is super vriendelijke en gastvrij.

Nu voor de 2de keer hier wezen eten, echt een aanrader! Gastvrij, heel lekker eten en het restaurant heeft een fijne en warme sfeer🫶

De gastvrijheid die je hier mag ontvangen, Is als een warme deken die je omringt, verlangen, Het personeel dat je vriendelijk te woord staat, Is als een briesje dat je meeneemt in een rustige staat. Als ik naar Ede verhuis, zal dit restaurant, Een van de dingen zijn waar ik het meest naar verlang, Een welkomstcadeau dat ik mezelf kan geven, De Baron van Ede zal mijn smaakpapillen verwennen voor het leven.

Leuke ervaring tijdens ons dag/nacht samen weg. Restaurant is rustig en ruim ingedeeld. Ruime tafels en fijne stoelen. Prima keuzes op de menukaart. Wijnkaart is niet heel uitgebreid, maar er stonden wel een aantal mooie keuzes op. 1 ster minder voor de service omdat we nog op de laatste hap van het voorgerecht aan het kauwen waren, terwijl het hoofdgerecht al op tafel werd gezet. Maar verder was er niets op de service aan te merken. Netjes en beleefd. Aanrader dus,

Fijn restaurant met leuke sfeer, eten was zeer goed en portiegrootte prima. Vriendelijke ontvangst en service. Niet goedkoop maar gezien de kwaliteit zeker niet te duur.

Mooi restaurant met een fijne kaart. We hebben in een ontspannen sfeer heerlijk gegeten. Wat is de bonbon kist op het eind van de avond een aangename verrassing zeg. Echt een aanrader dit restaurant!

Dankzij correcte gastheer echt een welkom gevoel. Buiten de kaart om was er, passend bij het seizoen, mooie wildgerechten die voortreffelijk waren klaargemaakt. Echt een aanrader!

Eten en bediening was prima Alleen mijn vrouw heeft een gluten allergie dus glutenvrij eten besteld wat er is misgegaan weten we niet maar ze is er ziek van geworden Wel gebeld maar antwoord was kan niet aan het eten gelegen hebben
