Very nice hotel restaurant at the harbor and waterway

We had a reservation in the conservatory overlooking the water, but a few days before dinner, we received a polite phone call and email to say we couldn't accommodate a large group. They were quite present, so it wasn't a big deal. Everyone enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, accompanied by a beautiful Merlot. The location, food, and service were superb! I'll definitely be back.

Great place for a drink with tasty snacks because they have them there

€39 for sole that still contained intestines, liver, and stomach contents. The bitter brown stuff smeared itself across my fillet. Ugh. The kitchen responded: "You ordered unfiltered fish. You could have ordered it filleted." Isn't unfilleted the same as not cleaned? Why can't the chef just gut the fish for this price?

Beautiful locations with river views.

We've been here several times for business dinner. The food is always excellent! It tastes and looks very appealing. The value for money is reasonable. The service is always friendly and attentive.

We had a cup of tea at Restaurant Hven in Maassluis. I loved the view of the water and the former harbor master's cottage. I found the restaurant kitchen a real eye-catcher. Behind a closed glass wall, the kitchen staff was busy working. The ladies at the reception desk and the waitresses were very friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Good atmosphere, nice place to sit, good staff

Restaurant de Hven is part of Hotel Maassluis. The food is tasty and well prepared. The service is very nice, neat and friendly. What more could you want! The atmosphere is pleasant but we sat on the terrace so that was good. We also didn't know what to expect because it was also the first time for us to eat there. It is quite expensive but we didn't mind because we had looked at the menu in advance so we knew what to expect. If you want to eat a lot and reasonably cheaply, you shouldn't go there. In any case, we left there with a good feeling. And we will definitely come back.

This time we had a very nice meal. It is expensive but the quality was good. Service as always top, and the atmosphere remains cozy.

Pleasant surprise on the waterway in Maassluis. Atmospheric restaurant with a beautiful view. Friendly and smooth service. Price quality of the food is fine. I only found the asparagus soup a bit too salty for my taste. Otherwise everything was fine. Definitely recommended and worth repeating.

We ordered 2 glasses of wine and wanted a glass of water with it. However, this request was not granted. We then took our own bottle of water and this was not allowed, otherwise we would be removed from the terrace! We found this very inhospitable!!! Especially since we had multiple drinks.

An expensive appetizer on rock-hard toast. It belongs on baguette. Cool service that keeps asking if you want something to drink while your glass is still almost full. With espresso you get a glass of water in good restaurants. At this 4 star restaurant they give a bottle of water that you have to pay for. When we said something about the hard toast the response was...we will pass it on.

It is a pleasant place for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is fine. The service okay. I think the food is on the mediocre side. I thought a satay of chicken thighs with little garnish was on the pricey side, especially because the satay had a somewhat greasy aftertaste.

I had the 4-course meal when I stayed at the hotel attached to the restaurant and the service was impeccable: 4 portions adequate for a 4-course meal, served with time between each course. I left the restaurant still light and not heavy from having eaten too much. Everything was excellent.

If you ask for tap water they should bring it!

Booked for Christmas brunch on Christmas Day. What fantastic food. Lots of choice in cold and warm dishes. Every dish a new taste sensation. Very good and friendly service and a nice atmosphere, despite the fully booked restaurant. Cheers! Definitely leaves you wanting more!

Had a wonderful birthday dinner with 6 people, inluding one 10 year old that loved the mussels, and had oysters for a starter & lovin´it! Pleasant atmophere, lucky to stay outside all evening. The food was top class. Chateaubriand was finest quality, totally smooth and delicious. The best we ever had. The rest of our group was also very pleased. Thank you for a wonderful night.

Had lunch with family on August 25. Beautiful hotel, attractive and neat. Card something for everyone. Opted for two courses. Sympathetic service. Prawns delicious, but could have been a little more.

Unique and beautiful cozy location right on the water. Beautiful building that also houses the hotel. Menu perfect, good service. We were able to park the car neatly.

Lovely spot for a cup of coffee or a glass.

After a long walk, a cappuccino on the terrace, ask as it should be and also according to Italian customs, a glass of tap water with the cappuccinos, "No, we don't do that, you can buy spa blue", was the answer from the moodier waitress. No, never mind, it is a hospitable thing to serve water with coffee. Coffee comes but is undrinkable, so you won't get the taste of cappuccino. But €3.50 for daring to ask. Scandalous. No service.

We had a nice meal and the service was good. Nice hotel, just don't know what the rooms are like. There was no disabled parking space.

We gingen uit eten voor het vieren van een verjaardag. Bediening was vriendelijk. Maar helaas het hoofdgerecht viel tegen. Zalm was niet heel warm, asperges en de aardappelen erg hard. Dit aangegeven bij de bediening en niet opgegeten. Bediening zou het doorgeven aan de keuken. Jammergenoeg wordt er niets meer mee gedaan. Geen excuus vanuit de keuken en verder ook niets. Prijs is flink en kwaliteit eten slecht en afhandeling klacht nog slechter.

Während unseres Aufenthaltes in diesem schönen Hotel waren wir auch mehrmals mittags und abends im Restaurant essen. Wir waren durchgängig sehr zufrieden mit der Freundlichkeit des Personals sowie der Qualität der Speisen und Weine und kommen jederzeit gerne wieder!

You're not likely to whine on a family evening. The hospitality industry is not having an easy time and I will include that in my assessment. The good: service is friendly. Atmosphere ok, music a bit too loud. There is no arguing about taste, but the food: overall too much salt, sea bass, scallops, truffle fries. Can do much less. Scallops were not fresh. Tournedos was weird but cold inside. Croutons Caesar salad: have been in a cookie jar for 3 years. Wine overpriced, 27 euros for a bottle with a rating of 3.3 at Vivino (quality for that price should and can really increase, guys!) Customers should also be able to get a glass of tap water. General impression: nice place, very expensive for what you get and could be much better with a few simple actions and a little more attention. Croquette sandwich on the terrace seems to be the best choice.

Located in a beautiful building, directly on the harbor and water of Maassluis. Hven is the restaurant of Hotel Maassluis. The interior has something homely and attractive. Friendly and helpful staff, sometimes a bit too busy setting up the breakfast buffet... Varied menu...starter and main course were delicious, but we found desert really disappointing! Price/quality ratio a bit too “overpriced”! Especially in the summer, on the large terrace, right on the water, restaurant Hven is a really nice place to visit!!

First had a drink, then ate. Ordered drinks and plenty of dishes. We really wanted some glass tap water with this. There was a lot of fuss about this and we didn't get it. Too bad, not very hospitable. Especially when you see the bill. Missed opportunity.

I had the satay. This was cooked but without much flavor. I also think that 1 small stick is not really proportionate at this price. But the biggest disappointment was that you couldn't sit on the waterfront. They had closed this one due to few people. Yes, I understand that if you keep your largest asset closed and then serve this. No, not for me again for a while.

I recently had dinner at Restaurant Hven and I was impressed with the atmosphere, food and service. The restaurant has a cozy and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner or an evening out with family. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was fast and efficient. The value for money was excellent and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Absolutely fantastic meal. All very tasty for a good price. Highly recommended if you have a gluten and lactose allergy, because they take this into account and know very well what is and is not possible. Never before have we been served so well!

Food and atmosphere are fine, but it is no longer possible to refuse (tap) water in addition to an ordered drink - 'we don't have it'. In addition, it is not polite to argue with a customer if he asks for some ice cubes.

Heerlijke plek, heerlijk eten en een verassende kaart! Prachtig uitzicht goede sfeer en goede bediening! Leuk dat ze de kaart vaak wijzigen. De bonbons zijn ook een aanrader. De Sommelier heeft of goed geadviseerd we hebben heerlijk gegeten en gedronken! Ook voor de kindjes is er een leuke kaart! Het restaurant en hotel zijn mooi ingericht en erg sfeervol! Zelfs aan de toiletten is gedacht - zeker een bezoek waard wanneer je in Maassluis of in de buurt bent!

Very beautiful location both inside and out. The location and furnishings are both great. Nice view. I think we just had bad luck. Service seemed disinterested and regularly walked by without noticing that we wanted to order. They do the upsell for expensive products very well. The wine was very good. The biggest drawback in my opinion is that the salad was missing ingredients that were on the menu. It was too busy and I wasn't getting any attention, so I didn't mention it until the food was finished and I could get attention from staff. I received the response that according to the kitchen there would be Bimi's in the salad. I also had a photo of it, but didn't want to get into the discussion. Due to allergies, I asked to replace the nuts with something else. That wasn't done either. The salad turned out very sparse. I actually find the reaction to the bimis incomprehensible.

Gisterenavond hier gegeten. Mooie locatie. We begonnen met een kakelverse oester. Heerlijk! Vervolgens had mijn vrouw de carpaccio en ik de langoustine met buikspek en een mango chutney begeleid met een op de kaart voorgestelde wijn. Een topgerechtje. Als hoofdgerecht had mijn vrouw de dorade met tomaten risotto en ik de kalfslende met een toevoeging van foie gras. De foie gras was oud of heel slecht bereid. Was niet lekker en dat was zonde want de kalfslende was weer uitstekend gegaard. De diepvriesdoperwten die zowel mijn vrouw als ik hadden, hebben we laten staan. Jammer was vooral dat ik een begeleidend wijntje had besteld maar dat ik die na de maaltijd nog niet had gehad. Het was helemaal niet druk dus er was alle tijd voor. Het dessert hebben we daardoor niet meer genomen.

Ate here last night. Beautiful location. We started with a fresh oyster. Delicious! Then my wife had the carpaccio and I had the langoustine with pork belly and a mango chutney, accompanied by a wine suggested on the menu. A top dish. As a main course, my wife had the sea bream with tomato risotto and I had the veal loin with an addition of foie gras. The foie gras was old or very poorly prepared. It was not tasty and that was a shame because the veal loin was again excellently cooked. We left the frozen peas that both my wife and I had. It was a pity that I had ordered an accompanying wine but that I had not yet had it after the meal. It wasn't busy at all so there was plenty of time. We therefore did not have dessert anymore.

A great hotel with a stunning suite. I was absolutely in love with the room. The restaurant was very stylishly furnished - chic, elegant, cozy, modern - I really liked it. Unfortunately, I fell outside on the last evening. The waiters were very accommodating and immediately helped me with ice packs and a chair to lie up on. Thanks for that ❤️ I probably have a torn ligament. So I can only say that the stay was really nice, we would love to come back!!

A wonderful place to sit right on the water. The price of different things on the menu varies greatly. €6.50 for the smoothie is a lot, but other things are better in terms of price-quality ratio. The service is friendly. Drinks ordered are delivered quickly, food (including the bites) takes quite some time. Overall positive, a number of 'points of attention'. :)

Very mediocre food. My stomach is bothering me now. Service is disinterested and rude. It was unclear what our table was. It turned out to be wrong and we were blamed for that. The atmosphere is good, especially because of the beautiful conservatory with a view of the Nieuwe Waterweg. Fortunately no disturbing music. In summary: many pretensions but little potential.

Recent and contemporary decorated restaurant in a beautiful location. Almost on the harbor head, with a view of the Nieuwe Waterweg. Large conservatory and outdoor terrace, but also a lot of space and possibilities inside. Tasty cappuccino, but the apple and cheesecake slices are a bit pricey. All in all a nice experience there in Maassluis.

Had dinner here with a group of 8 people. The food was good. The service was also good, but despite the fact that it was quite quiet, it seemed that it could not quite keep up. What was also a shame is that they suddenly came with the bill because they were closing. It would have been classier to come to our table earlier and point out the option to order a last drink. That's just a bit friendlier. For the rest, it is a beautiful location and attractively decorated restaurant that is part of a hotel.

Good restaurant at Hotel Maassluis right on the water (het Scheur / Nieuwe Waterweg). Tasty food / Good atmosphere. But the prices are on the high side In relation to portion size

In the conservatory at the head of the building (now the Maassluis hotel/former Sanofi building) the view of the waterway is phenomenal through passing shipping. Menu choice is ample and service is friendly. Occasional sunlight during this misty time of year does wonders for the atmosphere. Spacious and free parking spaces.

Number of times I ate at Hven. Nice place, good ambiance and beautiful view. Very small portions for the money you pay. Caesar salad (€14.50) was delicious, but in my opinion it could have been double the quantity. I really wasn't satiated after lunch. That's why we ordered another desert: chocolate cake (€10.50). In English it said lava cake, so that's what I expected. But it was not a soft, creamy cake, but a rather dry piece of cake. Shame! There is nothing to complain about their dishes, except the portion size.

It was fun with my girlfriend, but I had the worst High Tea ever. It was so little. I have never experienced our plate or etagère being empty. I have had high teas all over the Westland, so I am quite an expert. Sad for you. my girlfriend gave this as a gift.
