Great atmosphere on the square, delicious food and good service!

Always had a good experience at Jackie’s, but yesterday totally felt that I was in an acreage place with high prices. Ordered a Sushi.. so old that the avocado was black and they still brought it to the table. Since is summer was so busy outside, the quality of some seats were so low; I requested to seat in an empty table with cushions two tables away, and they said no, giving an alternative to seat beside the bar (a noisy place, besides a huge closed umbrella). Dinner presented awfully late, and honestly tasteless. Busy summers are not a good time to visit this restaurant.

You can dine here very well, but it's a bit more like dining out. They've truly elevated hospitality and the culinary experience to a high level. I've been here several times for dinner with colleagues. It never gets old, and colleagues from other international locations always find their way to Jackie's.

What a fantastic place Jackie's is! A few weeks ago, I sat down with some fellow students from Groningen on their terrace, and it was a memorable evening. The evening was filled with delicious rosé (with the necessary expertise from staff member Job), scrumptious meals, and superb service (led by host Niels). We'll definitely be back. Delicious food, and they really know what service is all about. A nice cocktail beforehand and delicious bread. Your complimentary water is refilled every time, and the table is meticulously cleaned after each course. Empty bottles and dishes are quickly cleared away, and the handwritten notepad containing your receipt makes it feel personal. Highly recommended!

Heerlijk gegeten op het terras in de binnen stad van Deventer. Leuk concept je kiest hoeveel gangen je wilt eten en maakt daarna wat je eet in welke gang. Iedere gang kun je kiezen wat je eet de 1e 3e keuzes zitten in de basis prijs andere keuzes betaal je per gang extra. Entourage is geweldig, zowel binnen als op het terras is over alles nagedacht. Bediening was erg goed, bij de rekening krijg je een hand geschreven kaartje. Granddessert was genieten met elkaar. Frisse rose vol van smaak. Laat je alles weg en kijk je op je bord, ziet het er mooi uit. Maar is het niet heel bijzonder van smaak. Nogmaals lekker maar niet heel bijzonder. We hadden een leuke avond.

I thought it was good, pricey, but a bit too commercial; I think the waitresses were instructed to maximize their sales. That was a bit too obvious.

Eten was goed, maar vooral de bediening en de gastvrijheid hebben onze avond gemaakt. We wouden wat anders dan het “standaard” menu en dit was geen probleem, het personeel denkt graag met je mee. Guusje en Daphne hebben ons geweldig geholpen.

They know how to do it here! After being turned away from two restaurants, we received a very warm welcome here without a reservation. After that, the evening only got better. Not only the service, but also (and importantly) the food is top-notch and in just the right quantities. They know how to create a good dish without any frills. Unlike 99% of the other restaurants here, the specialty coffee is served with fluffy whipped cream, not a swirl of whipped cream from a can. The cocktails are excellent, and the handwritten note with the bill made the experience complete! We will definitely be back, as the dishes at the restaurants next door looked absolutely delicious!

Oh my god. It is and will always be my favorite restaurant <3 Every time, I'm helped by the best host or hostess, and they make my evening complete. The entire restaurant is truly 5 stars. Service, food, and the looks > Perfect !!! I keep saying how much I love the hosts, so nice to chat with, and they really make you feel like you're in a 5-star restaurant. The food tastes so fresh, there's no feeling of overeating. You also pay a fair price for what you get! Wat een geweldige plek! Tijdens ons weekendje in Deventer liepen mijn vriend en ik spontaan tegen Jackies aan. Het personeel zag er stijlvol uit en de sfeer straalde luxe uit. We hadden niet gereserveerd, maar gelukkig was er nog een tafeltje vrij. Bij aankomst kregen we een welkomstdrankje, een fles plat water en een mandje met brood. Daarna mochten we kiezen hoeveel gangen we wilden dineren. Het eten was heerlijk en we hebben enorm genoten van de avond. Dankjewel Steijn, voor de service en de gezelligheid!

Delicious as always. A bit small, though. I found the main course especially lacking for the price. It came with fries, a bit separate from the main course, but they were also necessary. I thought that was a shame. I would have preferred a bit more variety.

Well, it happened again last night: we dined at my favorite restaurant, JACKIES. Not only is the food delicious and the service excellent, but what truly stands out above all else is the incredibly helpful, alert, friendly, and attentive service staff! That makes the Jackies experience my favorite restaurant experience. Many restaurants could learn from this example. Perfect, and keep up the good work, top-notch top-notch 😎

Extremely friendly service from Stijn. Attentive and helpful, but without being pushy. That made the evening even more enjoyable. Great food concept, delicious and flavorful food, and plenty of choice. The prices are a bit high, though. The seafood tuna steak was delicious! Bread and water are included in the price, which is great.

I've eaten here at least 25 times now, and except for one time, the food has always been fantastic! The personal service is a real plus, something you don't often find in Deventer. The manager and waitstaff discuss the evening's theme or what the needs are. If you're a regular, this sometimes feels a bit forced. Are you familiar with our concept? But overall, the waitstaff flawlessly understands the flow of the evening and lets the food do the talking! It's truly impressive how Jackie's has managed to maintain such consistent quality for years. The one time something went wrong, the follow-up wasn't great, but hey, that happens sometimes. All in all, an asset to Deventer for years. Compliments on what has been achieved here, and see you soon! And give me the 🥂 without the elderflower juice ;-)

We had a wonderful time sitting outside on the terrace. Because of someone's birthday, we were greeted with a gift box on the table containing a balloon, a card, and a glass of champagne. Ellis served us incredibly well! She kept a close eye on us. The food was also delicious. I would definitely go back!

After a very good experience 3 years ago, now a lot less experienced. We are familiar with dining with a time slot, but getting your guests out of there as quickly as possible is really not possible! When we made it clear that we wanted to drink our glass of red wine a bit more quietly (because we couldn't drink it during our main course due to the speed), they reminded us that we had a time slot. By the way, we still had more than 45 minutes, but apparently they really needed the table. I am aware that this was during a busy (party) weekend and everything has to go faster, but at what cost? Apologies were given afterwards, but alas.

As always, when we are in Deventer with the boat, we ate at your place. This time we found the food less; but maybe that was because of the choice. We found the salmon main course dry and quite tasteless. But the place and atmosphere as usual.

What a beautiful location, delicious food and nice atmosphere. What makes it 5 stars is however the personal service of all the staff. We will definitely come back here! If you are in Deventer, then restaurant Jackie's is a must to visit.

Super atmospheric restaurant in the heart of Deventer. Also very popular because we could only get in at half past eight on a Friday night 2 days in advance. They have elevated (American) hospitality to an art. Fortunately, it still feels authentic. The service is super attentive and alert. You are welcomed extremely friendly. You are helped very quickly and when you leave you get a nice handwritten note. The concept consists of a multi-course menu where you choose 2 or 3 courses. Bread and house cocktail are always included. There is enough choice and the food is certainly tasty but not really special. I thought the house cocktail was an overstatement for elderflower syrup with cava. A wider choice for the drink would not be amiss.

Modern, stylish, yet unobtrusively cozy. The team demonstrates genuine love for their guests. Friendly, attentive—and never pretentious. The menu is beautifully curated and the food is truly excellent. The food is a delight. A superb address for lovers of fine dining.

Both the starter, main course and dessert were very tasty. The lady steak was very small, but the other main courses were well portioned. However, we found the price a bit high for what you get. Three courses with some wine and a cocktail will cost you around a hundred euros per person. For a few tens more you can also go to a star restaurant.

Eaten here often, normally it's always good. Ate here today, the steak was tough. The carpaccio was not good. The service was not good, had to wait a very long time. Normally it's always good, today it was really bad.

Enjoyed this unforgettable spot in ❤️je Deventer !!! Menu card has something for everyone and not too big. Delicious food 😋 The service was a 10+, at Jackies you get a lot of personal attention from the service staff and that with a full terrace 🫶 Even when we were packing the bikes, we were approached by the kitchen staff, who were replenishing stock at the back door, if we had had a nice evening. We will definitely go back on a next visit to Deventer.

Tonight we had a fantastic evening at Jackies! Ellis really pampered us and all the other employees at Jackies exude hospitality. They knew my boyfriend's name right away when we arrived, everyone knew what we were celebrating and mentioned it several times during the evening. This gave us a very nice and welcome feeling. The food was incredibly good and a lot of choice for all kinds of diets. With the icing on the cake a very sweet note (handwritten!) with the bill. We will be back very soon! 10 out of 10!

Enjoy with a capital E. Delicious oysters, then the side dish with shrimp skewer and then the main course, super tender duck including scallops and the side dish with duck liver that melts away on the tongue. To finish, the cheese "board" with again 4 delicious cheeses of increasing spiciness from cow, goat and sheep. All that with a Brand Zwaar Blond on tap, which is your best tap beer so far. Service is always top notch! That also applies to the beautiful (newly paved) terrace. Lovely between the old buildings of this beautiful city.

Very pleasantly surprised by the personal and hospitable service. You don't often experience that on a busy Friday night in the city centre of larger places in the Netherlands. The sheltered terrace doesn't feel too big, which gives you privacy and cosiness in the right proportions. We had a delicious meal there. Recommended! William and Kees

It is then that I cannot give 6 stars for the service.. But here they really invented service! From the telephone reservation ('nice that you are coming'), to the reception and the service. Great! The food was also incredibly tasty, lots of choices and a nice concept. Really highly recommended!

It was my first time there, but definitely not the last. The service was excellent, the food was amazing and absolutely delicious. Everything was prepared with great care. You truly felt like part of a royal family. At the end of the evening, we received the bill in an incredibly warm and personal way – with a handwritten card! It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture that made our evening feel truly special. What wonderful service!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. It is MUCH TOO EXPENSIVE for the mediocre and few eaters. I chose salmon as the main course and only received a very small piece of salmon with some watery spinach. After 3 minutes I was finished eating and still hungry. My partner's steak was fried welldone instead of medium-rare as he requested. We were given the feeling that a correction was not wanted. The food is absolutely nothing special either. the service is good!

You are treated here as a guest, and with care, very tasty food and drinks. Super atmosphere and very friendly staff. Highly recommended. We sat outside, great spot, opposite the entrance, the whole evening in the sun. Wonderful. Would love to come back again.

We had a really delicious meal. We went for the 3-course menu. The brioche with marinated shrimp melted on your tongue. Really delicious. The tuna burger as a main course. A feast for the eyes as it was presented. Almost a shame to eat it. Deliciously tender and prepared just right. With a perfect ending in the form of the chocolate fudge.

Yesterday evening, the two of us went to Jackies for dinner 'spontaneously'. For us, the first time there. We were welcomed very friendly, got a nice table, after which Loes introduced herself as our regular waitress. And Loes did a great job! The food was really incredibly well prepared. We enjoyed it. You can bet we'll be back soon.

We had a delicious meal again and good service from Stefan and Vera. The carpacio and Tuna Seaviche were a good choice as a starter. Then enjoyed the steaks. The oysters were also a success ;)

Immediately received a warm welcome upon arrival. Welcome drink, basket of fresh warm bread with delicious creamy spread! Very extensive menu with amusing descriptions of really delicious dishes! However, the behavior of the staff made it complete. Thanks to the attention they gave us, we really felt like princes and princesses! So thoroughly enjoyed it!

Very friendly staff and delicious food. You pay a fixed price for a 2- or 3-course dinner. That may seem like a lot at first, but a welcome drink, bottle of water and bread with spread is included. We enjoyed the food and will definitely return when we are in Deventer again.

Had a fantastic evening, partly because of Brian, Stijn and Niels. Super food, super service, fantastic atmosphere. Not a single point for improvement, it was great! My mother is ill and everything was arranged for her too. We therefore had a very comfortable and relaxed evening. Thanks again!

We came here because of the good reviews. The restaurant was well attended, luckily we had reserved. We sat down in the basement, romantic atmosphere. We had a mixed starter plate and the sushi was particularly good. The main courses, on the other hand, were very disappointing. My steak was super tough, the fries were only lukewarm. My partner's main course wasn't anything special either. That's why we both didn't eat some things. We expected more for the high price. The service was very friendly, but the restaurant is not worth recommending for me.

The fun started the day before we got there. We walked in to make a reservation and were warmly welcomed by Brian. Enjoyed dinner yesterday. A top restaurant in every respect. The staff are so friendly; it feels like you have a group of friends.

We chose the wine that Job advised us and we really enjoyed it. We all look back on a very pleasant and successful evening.

Starter was very good. Kind of spare ribs but without bone. Main course was ridiculous. The request was for the Lady Steak "medium / well done" but without blood. But this was "Shoe sole please". I am admittedly picky when it comes to meat, but fortunately I know enough restaurants that know how to present an excellent piece of meat when I ask for "well done / medium but no blood". You can also ask for my insight if you pay the current high price in the catering industry. The price-quality ratio here is not good.
