We were sitting on the terrace. It is a shame that smoking is allowed. Since the tables are placed next to each other, it can be bothersome. The food is so delicious that I find it a pity to have to experience the smell of cigarettes along with it.

With lovely late summer weather on the restaurant's large outdoor terrace. Featuring an outdoor bar and a well-coordinated service team. Efficient and, above all, polite, with time for a little chat too. The quality of the food (3 courses) was exceptionally good, as were the matching wines. Overall, a top-notch evening out dining during a delayed Dutch holiday in Deventer - Zutphen.

We had a fantastic meal here; for starters, the surprise menu consisted of 5 top dishes. For the main course, we had the Big Missteak, which was a good choice. The atmosphere is great, and the staff were very friendly, especially Raf and Rosan, our table hosts. This is highly recommended; we will definitely be back. (We do have to drive 1.5 km to get here, but we are happy to do so.)

We went for the Totally Jackie. I had delicious scallops and the tenderloin. My boyfriend had the tartare and the ribeye. Delicious flavor combinations, fantastic service, and a nice atmosphere. Recently, we did a walking dinner in Deventer and finished the evening at Jackies for the main course. It is a really great concept! You choose a menu and then the dishes you would like to try. We enjoyed a delicious cocktail with it, and we also received a small welcome drink upon arrival. Very nicely done! The atmosphere was good and the food was delicious. As a minor point for improvement, we would have liked it if the wait staff had shown a bit more personal contact and attention to the guests. But of course, this could also be a matter of personal preference. All in all, a very nice experience and an original concept. Definitely recommended!

Yesterday, we had a lovely dinner on the terrace with the four of us. It is a very large terrace, but because you have the same waiter throughout, this isn't noticeable. The food was truly amazing. We will definitely come back here again and will recommend it to others.

For our appetizer, we had the sushi – fresh, high-quality, and incredibly delicious. My husband chose the Gentleman's Steak as our main course, and I had the lamb. Both dishes were superbly prepared and perfectly seasoned. To finish, we chose "Jackie's Choice" – and what can we say? Simply wow! A dessert that perfectly rounded off the evening. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself for many years, I pay particular attention to service. It was truly outstanding: incredibly attentive, warm, professional, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. You really feel welcome as a guest. Jackie's is far more than just a restaurant – it's a special experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!

That made me feel at ease immediately. The service was also excellent: friendly, attentive, and professional. Everything was just right, and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. As a lovely finishing touch, we even received a handwritten note with the bill. Such a small personal gesture says a lot about the team's attention and hospitality. I gave the food 3 out of 5 stars because I wanted to indicate that the food we chose was somewhat less impressive in comparison to the atmosphere, service, and overall experience. But it was *delicious*. However, I could have given the atmosphere and service 10 stars. Then the food would have received 8 stars. I wanted to try to convey that it is truly an experience in terms of atmosphere, and the food is simply delicious, but not as outstanding as the atmosphere. At least.... what we ate... also a matter of taste, of course 😉

The service was quite stressed and they behaved quite unprofessionally as soon as they left the table. Things like “get to work, you’re not doing a damn thing” were simply said by the manager right near our table. Additionally, a €28 burger that tastes just as good as a €16 burger elsewhere. The sushi, however, was tasty! So, the food is good, nothing special (very average), but the prices are high for what you get.

One of my favorites for years. If you really want a night of good food with excellent service, you have to go to Jackies. Always great food and the service is fantastic.

Well… Sometimes you walk into a restaurant and think: oh well, here we go again. A waiter with a meter-and-a-half-long beard whispering “sharing concept” as if he personally invented the hospitality industry. A menu that requires a Korean-Dutch dictionary, and a bill that makes you spontaneously want to dip into your child benefit for the next three years. But then there was Jacky’s in Deventer. We went out for dinner yesterday with five men. Five grown men. Logistically, that is normally comparable to an average NATO operation. One wants wine, another beer, number three “actually doesn’t eat coriander,” and somewhere there is always someone shouting that the tuna isn’t his. Not at Jacky’s. From the moment we arrived, there was warmth. Not a forced hospitality smile of “welcome dear guest,” no, just a genuine welcome. We were greeted and escorted to our table. Then Kai came to our table. He introduced himself politely and said that he was our host for the evening. Host! Nowadays, you should be happy if someone even makes eye contact while pointing to your table with a QR code. And then the amazement began. Everything ran smoothly. And I mean *really* everything. The terrace was packed—I estimate about 275 people—but the staff moved through the crowd as if they had lived together inside a Swiss watch for years. No stress. No chaos. No panic. Just calm. Serene calm. And those dishes… They simply ended up directly with the right person. Without anyone having to shout across the restaurant: “WHO HAD THE TUNA?” That seems to be a unique gift in the hospitality industry these days. As if you applaud in a Michelin-starred restaurant just because a waiter knows where table 14 is. Every employee knew what was going on. Everyone was dressed immaculately in uniform. No sloppiness, no half-hearted work. This wasn't service, this was choreography. And then, after dinner, I thought: it doesn't get any better than this. Then we received the bill (which, considering the standard, was actually very reasonable, apart from the 4 bottles of wine). It included a handwritten message from Kai. Personal. In which he wished us a nice weekend. Look… that gives me goosebumps. I am a former hospitality entrepreneur myself, and believe me, you look at a business differently then. You see the details. The timing. The discipline. The communication. You see how many things *can* go wrong. At Jacky’s, nothing went wrong. Everything was perfect. Enjoyed it from start to finish. And as I tell this to others, I can almost hear myself getting annoyingly enthusiastic. But then again… sometimes you experience something that makes you think: damn, it can be done this way too. Hats off to Jacky’s. Truly next level.

Since yesterday, we have been in Deventer for 2 days. What a surprise, such a lovely Hanseatic city that was previously unknown to us! But restaurant Jackies on the Groote Poot was definitely the best discovery for us. We were welcomed by a very enthusiastic team and were assigned Rosanne and Abel as our personal hosts. A wonderful experience! After starting with a glass of Cava, we opted for the 2-course menu: for me, the delicious Uruguayan Wagyu beef in Chinese pepper sauce, and for my partner, a tuna steak. Naturally, with matching wines (Primitivo and Chardonnay). For dessert, we had a pannacotta with yogurt ice cream and caramelized strawberries, and the still-burning crème brûlée, respectively. It was truly top-notch!! The atmosphere was also great, and Rosanne and Abel certainly went the extra mile in terms of personal attention. Highly recommended in the historic center of Deventer. Had a delicious meal at Jackies last night and honestly… this was next level. I go out to eat quite often, but never before in Deventer. I genuinely didn't know you could get such an experience for this price. From the very first moment, you feel it: a warm, personal welcome and staff that truly pays attention to you. No standard small talk, but genuine service. You are addressed politely, seen, and helped. They don't turn it into a dinner, but an experience. You just feel special at the table. And then the food… really mega tasty. Everything is perfect. They literally court you. I'm going for lunch at N11 on Thursday, so expectations are high now… curious if they can match this.

Haven't been here in a long time, but won't be back anytime soon. The wagyu was really bad. Really tough. Apparently this has happened before, so it's time for a new butcher. Service a bit slow and I'm a bit done with that modern way of doing things. Which water would you like? With or without gas? Because we have different glasses for everyone. I want to make that choice myself, maybe even both; what is this all about? I find it a hassle....

Super restaurant. I visited for the first time last Friday. The service is truly incredibly good: attentive, sharp, and with many small details that keep surprising you. The menu is creative and well-balanced. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. There were two downsides for me that day, though: because it is so popular, it was very busy on Friday evening. The space is utilized a bit too intensively for a high-end restaurant (if they aspire to be one), and our table was a bit on the small side for the number of people. Furthermore, the main course was served only lukewarm. Because we had to leave quickly, we didn't mention this, but I am convinced they would have resolved it professionally. I definitely want to come back here again — perhaps on a weekday.

Service: The waiters are amazing kind, helpful and smiling. They made us feel very special. Ellis and Luuk were very nice. Food: The food was amazing delicious and decorated on nice plates. The vegetarian dishes showed inspiration and creativity in combination with taste. Special note: we enjoyed the handwritten note that we received after diner.
