What a joke! Every cent you pay (and that's quite a lot) is one too many! The customer service is truly incredibly bad. And believe me, we weren't the only ones with complaints. My apology: the kitchen is busy. Come on, we had to make reservations in time slots. You know how busy it's going to be. The end result of what should have been a pleasant memory: 8 of the 9 people were served. After asking six times where the ninth dish was, we decided to go get something else. Of course, we didn't pay the entire bill, but it wasn't worth a cent. Never experienced anything like it.

Spare ribs with fries, salad, and vegetables for €4.50. Nothing wrong with that, but why put the spare ribs on the vegetables I ordered, which were also undercooked? That was a shame; the rest was good.

Food was good but a lot... Service was pleasant

The concept of this place is easy and to the point, overall quality is above average for a place in this budget. Service was excellent, food was very tasty. The choices on the menu are basic but has good variety, in the end its the quality that matters and the kitchen and staff hit the jackpot here, making this a pleasant experience in all. And of course, very kid friendly.

Called a week ago about the possibility of food due to... diets (allergies). Wouldn't be a problem. Indicated again upon entering the restaurant. No problem. Pointed to table. Then the waiting could begin. After about fifteen minutes someone came to ask what we wanted to drink. This was brought. After another long wait (20 minutes) I asked for the menu. Finally someone finally came to take the food. Passed on the allergies again. Had to consult with the kitchen. Things could be left out for 3 people, but they did not come up with a satisfactory solution with the usual dishes for 1 person. This one then went back to our house to prepare something for himself. And you still have to pay a lot afterwards. Not good price/quality! And no excuses... What was supposed to be a festive meal turned into a damper on our day. Do you think you have arranged everything well....

The restaurant was not even half full, but it still took 16 minutes before we were asked what we wanted to drink. After 30 minutes finally the menu. Zero plant-based options, even though they had been told about this in advance. I left.

Very tasty food for a good price. The Cape Town burger is highly recommended. This burger comes with fries and salad. What goes well with this burger is a coconut beer.

Had dinner at this restaurant yesterday. Spearribs: taste good, but you received too small a container of garlic sauce with the spearribs and this was not in proportion to the Hamburger: large hamburger and good taste Fish & chips: two pieces of fish with fries and sauce, good decent portion. Also good in taste Poffertjes kids: I have no idea how tasty poffertjes are when they are fresh, but that's how they taste! Service: Polite and friendly The serving of drinks could have been a little faster. I also walked to the bar to ask if they could come over. It turned out that they were absent due to illness. Environment: Water views just perfect! There is also a kids corner inside for children aged 1-5 years, so if you make a reservation inside, it may be useful to tell you that you want to sit close to this.

Busy and understaffed, we were in the middle of high season

Either it was due to the fact that guests could not come for long due to the corona virus or it was due to the fact that there were many new people in the service; Perhaps there was also some awkwardness in the kitchen, but it was nothing to write home about. Steaks were supposed to be red, were red, but quite tough. The fish and chips had little flavor and the burger was very dry, for which extra BBQ sauce was a poor solution. In any case, it deprived us of the desire to have dessert, despite the friendliness of our waitress...

It was quite quiet but it took an hour until we had something to eat

The food was good. We all had the satay and it tasted good. The tent itself is nicely decorated thematically, which is also well done. A small play corner and drawing table are also available.

Not a good long wait for my order and the food was luke warm

It was not stated anywhere that reservations are recommended, but when we got there to eat, all tables were reserved. At the last minute (with 2 small children and 1 baby) I had to find something else to eat. Was a disappointment.

We stayed at safari resort and it is because the restaurant at resort were fully booked, so we came to this restaurant for dinner. Good points: very nice lake view, even in Nov it is still lighted until 6pm I ordered grill rand burger(beef) , it is 16.5 euro. A bottle of 750ml mineral water is 4.50 euro. The Price I think it is normal for Dutch restaurant. Considering this is a holiday destination, it is not over priced. The taste is ordinary, nothing special. Before I ordered, I show the service person some precious review's photo. And she said, those are old photos, now are not the same. So I confirmed with her if there is salad with the burger. She said yes. Unfortunately, when the dish came up, there is no salad, but fried carrots with potato. It is also tasty, but I am just a bit disappointed. We had a reservation and came at 5pm. It is not yet busy, but it took a good 25 mins before we got our food. When we came, all the tables are reserved and they turn away walk in customers. Around 6:30, more reserved tables are filled. So I think it is best to place reservation if you want to eat on weekend. By the way, there is a spar supermarket next door. And it is pretty OK priced too.

Went for dinner yesterday. We had also booked a 1-day dinner when booking our stay. This turned out to be the bite of the day. My wife doesn't like schnitzel so she asked if there was anything else that could be chosen and the waiter will ask. 5 minutes later she came back or already knew what we wanted, she had already forgotten our question. We could also choose from satay, which was the operative thing this evening. First came the tomato soup for the children and onion soup for us. The onion soup was so salty that it was unedible. When we reported it, we were all told that they would pass it on, no excuse. The tomato soup was enough for the four of us. And it's a shame that the fries with the main course were cold, so we got new ones, which was the case at several tables. Conclusion An average snack bar is better than this "restaurant"

After a long day of walking around the Efteling, we didn't want to cook ourselves anymore, but decided to eat in the restaurant of the park where we were staying. We came in and asked for a seat. We were referred to a separate area where there was also a children's corner, probably because we also had our 5-year-old son with us. The service was friendly, and we ordered some drinks and a basket of bread. For the main course we wanted the rump steak, which we ordered medium rare, with fries and summer vegetables. After not too long we received our order. Two rump steaks, with green beans from a jar and fries with mayonnaise. There was no mention of medium rare, it was almost dry. So I asked for a new one, as I didn't like it. The waiter took it back, but quickly came back with the plate, saying that it would take about 10 minutes (a discouragement policy that meant they thought I would eat it anyway). I didn't think that was a problem. After about 10 minutes I received a new plate. Now they had cut the steak in half for me, and it indeed looked tender and red. I accepted. It indeed looked red and tender, but it wasn't. It was dry and grainy meat, which you just can't make a good piece of meat from no matter what you try. My wife admitted that her piece was slightly juicier but overall the same, grainy and no meat structure. I think if you charge €19.50 for a piece of meat, it should also taste like meat. This didn't make any sense. Management couldn't do anything about it, so I didn't burden them with it for the rest. I have drawn my conclusion and found the price-quality ratio to be severely below par! No next time for us.

Great spacious restaurant for children, but the kitchen hardly rises above the level of a snack bar. The menu consists mainly of meat and fries.

A big plus is that the chef himself eats gluten-free. This allowed my main course to be easily adapted. Sat outside on the terrace which gave a beautiful view over the lake with the sunset. Something had gone wrong with a dish. This was neatly repaired.

This is the worst restaurant of the stay (que service). Drink takes more than half an hour before it is delivered, or main course is cold. Service can't smile and/or is a farmer with a toothache. They don't really care about the terrace, even though that's where the money can be earned. A serious catering tiger needs to bite into this. Because with a campsite of 500 plus guests, this is a gold mine. Unfortunately, the management of Beekse Bergen has blinders on and does not realize this yet! Missed opportunity! But a restaurant with such restrictions is unfortunately a one-off!

Nice restaurant with a beautiful view over the water and good service. unfortunately the quality of the food is not very good, it was more like cafe quality than a restaurant. I personally had a burger that was tasty, but not what you expect in a restaurant and the vegetables were unfortunately not fresh. However, they do have special African fruit beers that were also very tasty. And taking one home was no problem and was arranged very quickly by the staff. So all in all, a nice restaurant with a nice view and nice staff, but unfortunately mediocre food.

Nice, cozy restaurant, staff was under a lot of work pressure

Nice if you want to eat quickly. We had a sandwich beforehand and before our sandwich was finished, we already received the starter. Food wasn't spectacular, but fine. We were outside again in 45 minutes.

Eaten here in both summer and winter. Ordered from the menu in the winter, delicious food, approximately the same menu as in the safari park. Buffet served in the summer. It was very busy and hot then. Service then took longer for drinks. The buffet was tasty.

What a terrible end to a fun day in Beekse Bergen! Like others before us, we were referred from Safari Resort because the restaurant there was already fully booked. Stupid stupid stupid; go eat somewhere outside the park because everywhere in Beekse Bergen the waiting times at the restaurants are hopeless. If you eat with children, tell them in advance that you will have to wait two hours because there are only two chefs. We immediately left with our hungry children. Apparently this is a structural problem because I only read reviews like this, and I don't understand why the wait staff doesn't run away screaming. All they have to do is tell complaining people that unfortunately it will take a while. Incredibly child-unfriendly, unprofessional and really the last time I eat anywhere in Beekse Bergen.

We have been coming to the park for a number of years and always enjoy eating at the Cape Town restaurant. But unfortunately for us the last time we came here. We had to wait an hour (with 2 kids aged 4 and 6) until our drinks finally arrived... (something with an apology that it was busy... we were the only ones inside when we ordered... then 1.5 later had our food...immediately ordered new drinks and waited more than half an hour for them...when we went to pay we just saw that the first drink of the 3 we had ordered was being poured...so they were allowed to have them again got the receipt...up to 10, neatly paid and left ..next day...one more attempt to have lunch there...open 12 noon...12.15 at the door...everything still closed...eventually ending up on the terrace via a detour at 12.45.. after which, after 15 minutes, we walked inside to order drinks and food. whether we wanted to take the tray with us because they were so busy (once again there were 3 tables outside where people were sitting who also had to bring in their own drinks)... my husband went outside with the tray and all... in short.. .not good service, weak excuses...and for us the last time we came here...next time we will look for a restaurant elsewhere...

Referred from Safari Resort because the restaurant there was already fully booked. Cape Town, also fine, they said. Can be booked online. So this was done immediately in the afternoon. Anyway, we were on time, but our food was not. Ended up having to wait 2 hours for a disappointing, lukewarm meal. I don't buy the statement "we didn't expect it to be this busy tonight" much. My tip. If you know that the waiting time will be so long, warn your guests about this and give them the choice in advance: wait a long time or turn around. We immediately left with our hungry grandchildren.

If you shoot a beef and roast it yourself at home, you will eat it faster, having to wait 2 hours before eating. Or they still had to get the meat from the park very nice with 2 children who have no patience, the play corner is not a hassle and once the food was there it was not even warm. After complaining, we received a free cup of coffee, which was nice and meager, just like the food we were served and having to wait 2 hours for it was really a NO GO for us. Not only did the food take a long time, by the time we got the drinks we had ordered I had already been vacuumed.

We had a great meal at Restaurant Kaapstad for 3 days, the food was delicious and a nice place for our daughter to play after dinner. They have a separate card and a coloring page for the children. The staff was very nice to our daughter. One day I went to get pizza. The female manager on duty told me that she had rejected the Pizza they had made and that it would take a little longer. No problem, I waited a little longer and then I had a delicious pizza! A very nice concept is that you can save coins with a children's menu that our daughter could use to pick out a nice souvenir on the last day.

The food was tasty, the environment is beautiful but the service was, how can I put it, I want to but I can't. We resubmitted our order 3 times. It took some time before we got our food. Sadly, quite insufficient.

You have to wait before you go to a seat, two men behind the bar look at you sheepishly but neither of them greet you or make you feel welcome, so we just went for fries at the snack shop on the corner. We were kindly received there and helped quickly.

Price/quality of the food is not good. Too expensive for what you get. I had salad with brie: lots of lettuce, some cucumber, pieces of pepper, tomato slices and nuts sprinkled on top and the dressing was hard to find. Then 2 slices of brie and that was a small portion. For a large portion, they will probably need 3 bags of mixed lettuce. Not to be repeated.

Upon arrival after reservation, the menu for the child had been forgotten. No problem, they brought it quickly. After that it seemed almost impossible to order. When ordering the starters, the question was whether the baguette that my table companion wanted as a starter should be served at the same time as my starter (yes, this is one of the few vegetarian options as a starter on the menu). When delivering the main menu, they forgot my plate and my child got her fries and frikandel in a soup plate. After I had not yet taken a bite, I was literally asked while walking by if everything was to my liking. There wasn't really time to answer. The pesto pasta with garlic scampi really tasted like nothing. When the person behind me also complained about this, I responded and we received a bowl of "pesto". Unfortunately, this "pesto" was a very diluted olive tapenade and therefore the dish still lacked flavor. After I had paid, I mentioned this to the manager who was walking around and she was very surprised because the pesto 'just came from a large bucket and therefore had to be good'. She also told me that if I had mentioned this before paying I would not have had to pay for this. A little dazed, I walked back to my table and advised the person behind me to report this in advance, so that I wouldn't be charged anything. My table companion thought this was nonsense and approached the manager to ask whether the money could be returned anyway, but the manager indicated that I had not asked for this. Then she walked away irritated, and even though we were still standing at the table, the money was put on the table without a word (not even thrown...). In short, a very bad restaurant with unfriendly and incompetent staff. If I ever stay here in the park again, I would rather not eat anything than ever walk into this restaurant again.

Ordered a pizza and they will deliver it. Rarely have I eaten such bad pizza. The cheese tastes like rubber and the base looks like nothing. Leave half. Bah bah.

Good food, service sometimes takes a bit too long, cozy atmosphere

After three visits in one week, I am unfortunately still not satisfied with the food. The staff is friendly and does everything they can to please you, but the quality of the food really leaves much to be desired. The portions are not proportionate and the food often takes a long time to arrive, after which you just have to wait and see whether you get the right thing. The buffet is something new but unfortunately does not last long.

Ok restaurant for the holiday park. We thought it was a shame that there is an afternoon and evening menu. During the afternoon you can only eat snacks (e.g. pizza or spaghetti for the children), in the evening there is a more extensive menu available. During the afternoon we were able to eat without a reservation. In the evening you must make a reservation or you will not have a seat until later in the evening.

The food was fine, the service minimal. Even though there were 4 staff at the counter/bar, we were not contacted to request a table. Then you couldn't find it better here. The kids, as they are called today, were incredibly happy. They practically felt at home. Could play and walk without risk. The service was attentive and attentive. If my daughter interrupted an order at another table, she was not ignored or reprimanded. It was made clear to her that she had to wait a moment and then was heard. It's not that my children ran through the room like crazy dogs, but it's true that for once I didn't have a stiff neck after dining. For me that's a holiday and that's what I found here.
