The food here is always good! Generous portions and very tasty. The value for money is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful location and parking is free.

For some reason, Lieveling never ranked high on my list. This afternoon, after footgolf at Klimpark 21, I decided to go there for lunch after all. I can only say that it was very good. Each of the four of us ordered something different, and everything looked equally appealing. The plates were completely empty afterwards. I had the Fried Eggs, or the "uitsmijter" (a type of open-faced omelette). It was absolutely fantastic! The service was friendly. Lieveling has settled into the top of my list.

Was there on October 6th at 10:30 in the morning, and nothing to eat, only pastries; I could only order food at 11:30. Bad business, sweetheart.

Food is fine, but quite expensive. The place definitely needs to be cleaned up; the tables are greasy and full of crumbs, and a large dead mosquito on the windowsill isn't a very nice sight while eating.

This is an interesting restaurant that has been around for quite some time and has recently changed management. The cuisine is fairly classic, but well-executed. The portions are decent. The service is energetic and welcoming. The only drawback is the prices, which are on the high end but acceptable.

Nice and beautiful spot in Hoofddorp. Next to the restaurant is a fenced playground for children, especially enjoyable on nice days. Generously filled sandwiches, and friendly service.

Just a great place for what it is: good and fast service, tasty food, and a good (large) location. The only thing (personally) is that the meals were too big for us. Especially the salmon club sandwich, which I couldn't finish even with a double jaw. But for other bigger eaters, that will actually be a plus :-) And I got a doggy bag to take home without any strange looks. I ate it up later that evening. So, top marks.

We had a drink on the terrace. Nice spot with sun and shade, view over the lake. Service rather impersonal, and I find charging almost €5 for a glass of lemonade a bit excessive. Three stars.

We were able to sit down with a bit of wind, adequate service and the food is really good value for money. If you are a little early, the menu with good sandwiches and salads is available from 11:30 am. You don't have to wait long for your food. Thanks for the delicious food!

We dined there again yesterday. It was delicious. We sat in the evening sun in the conservatory, with quiet music playing in the background (it was louder inside), and the food tasted very good. It was also beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Lovely atmosphere! A year ago: Had a delicious meal today in the setting sun. Nice atmosphere, prompt service. A minor downside was the door that kept opening, right next to which we were seated.

Cozy yet luxuriously furnished, super friendly and good service, extensive menu and delicious dishes! And a very beautiful location and view ;)

The staff are very helpful and friendly. They speak Dutch and English. The meals, desserts, and cocktails are delicious and beautifully presented! We are delighted and highly recommend it.

We went there for dinner; it's a lovely location by a small lake... but we only got the menu after asking several times. The waiter kept walking past us, never taking our order, not even after 20 minutes... We paid for our drinks and then left.

Delicious food and great service!

Last night, we enjoyed sitting outside on the cozy side terrace of Restaurant Lieveling, where we had reserved a table in advance. The service was, as we have come to expect here, incredibly fast and friendly. We started the evening off well with a nice bottle of rosé and a tasty Italian bread with tomato salsa to share. Highly recommended in this beautiful weather! Unfortunately, the main course was a disappointment this time. Both ribeyes were fully cooked, even though we had ordered them medium. As a result, we left more than half of the meat uneaten. In hindsight, I should have reported this to the wait staff immediately. Fortunately, they did notice it afterwards and very politely offered compensation. Although we declined this, we greatly appreciate the proactive and hospitable service. A lovely place we will certainly return to; hopefully, the doneness will be right next time.

We had dinner here last Sunday evening. We ordered tournedos with fries and salad. Everything was delicious. Lovely, a real night out. It was scorching hot and busy that day, but the staff were so friendly. Not a bad word

The salad was huge! like, big enough for two, so it’s honestly really good value. After lunch it started pouring with rain, so we ended up staying a bit longer. We finished our tea and asked the staff if we could get some more hot water. But instead of just hot water, they ordered another round of tea for us. (It’s fine, we paid for another cup of tea but After we finished that, we asked again for hot water (not another tea) …and the staff gave us this pretty disgusted look, which confused us a bit. It made us wonder if it wasn’t allowed. In the end, she took away our cup with the tea bag and just brought hot water, so I guess she didn’t quite understand what we meant. Maybe this is just a British thing… when you’re using the same tea bag, hot water refills feel pretty unlimited as long as you still keep using the same one.

The coffee is delicious, the service was good, and it is definitely worth repeating!

Had drinks and nuts at the Toolenburger Plas. It was okay, but like almost all hospitality venues: too expensive. A shame, because it is very cozy there.

We attended a reception there, and what was served and how it was served by the friendly staff was excellent. The quiet location by the water is beautiful. The outdoor terrace looks inviting. Parking is available in a dedicated parking area close to the restaurant (100 m), and visitors with mobility issues can be dropped off right at the door.

The absolute worst pasta dish ever! It costs €25, but it is absolutely not worth it. The pasta is incredibly cheap ingredients: spring onions, parsnips, watery sauce, and mushy pasta. And no taste 🤮 Even my daughter ordered a plate with 200 grams of meat, but it was cold and there were only two very small pieces in it. I think it's a real shame

Great terrace, lovely by the water

A lovely spot in a recreational area. Friendly people who think along with you. And turn a problem into a gem. A wonderful menu. Even for morning coffee, the girls gave us a warm welcome. That was very nice.

It's a good place to go if you're really hungry. It's a shame there are no windbreaks to make better use of the outdoor terrace 🐝 on "windier" days.

Nice restaurant, lots of options for food and drink and has a nice view across the lake if you sit upstairs or on the terrace at the front. Was recently renovated and has a lot more room and looks great.

Visited for lunch on 14-03-2026 Visited for lunch today. It was amazing. Atmospheric restaurant, beautiful view over the water, excellent food, and very hospitable service. Nikki deserves a huge compliment: she provided excellent service. The other staff were top-notch as well, by the way. The mint tea took a little too long, but we didn't mind that anyway. To our surprise, we received the mint tea for free as compensation, and the staff spontaneously offered it themselves! We really appreciated this! It felt like a holiday. We ordered eggs with bacon and cheese, croquettes on bread, apple pie, and the Dame Blanche + drinks. The price was also very pleasant. Besides a beautiful view in a nice setting, you get value for money: excellent quality and good portions for a decent price in a time when everything has become more expensive. We stayed seated for quite a while and ordered something every now and then, without being 'rushed out'. Very hospitable: tap water with ice was no problem at all. Parking is fine. Not right outside the door (that area is for disabled people only), but right down the road there is more than enough space. The only downside: the toilets are not very clean.

Good food. Good advice on which appetizers to order for a large group. The hospitality was generous and friendly. We arrived too early and had to work at the bar for a bit.

This is the third time in a short period that we haven't been served after waiting 15 to 20 minutes. We didn't see anyone to take our order. We used to come here often, but recently the service has been terrible. When we explain the situation upon leaving, we keep getting the same naive responses: "This is the first time I've heard of it" (reviews paint a different picture, this is our third time), "I thought you were gone," "It's your opinion" (no, experience). It's all to no avail. The staff can't handle their own mistakes. No more Restaurant Lieveling for us.

The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, I did notice that the staff find it difficult to receive compliments. And there were quite a few young staff members.

I've been coming here for lunch for years, and it's always good, but today was a huge disappointment. I ordered a Caesar salad, but it was served with a very hot, spicy chicken. After complaining, I was supposed to get a new one with mild chicken, but I got a chicken Terayaki-style salad. Besides the fact that I hadn't ordered it, I didn't like it either. Then I ordered a tuna salad sandwich, because they're always delicious. This time it was just a lump of tuna with some lettuce and tomato, and it wasn't tasty at all. I heard about a new menu, etc. Unfortunately, there's no improvement, and I won't be having lunch at De Lieveling for a while.

We dined with four people. The menu had been updated, as had part of the interior. We ordered bruschetta with the cocktails and received three bruschetta (for four people), so we shared our own portions. We had the carpaccio as a starter, the flavor of which was obscured by the sauce and many toppings, but overall, it was definitely okay. Kara-age was delicious. The main course was a huge hamburger and three 200g tournedos, good cuisine and good meat. The vegetables on the plate were blanched almost raw, a bit too much bite for our liking. The two curly fries, the top one a bit cold and the bottom one lukewarm, could have been better. The dessert was good. The Dame Blanche had very little sauce under the ice, so it was hard. We asked for extra sauce. Last year, we had a similar dinner with four people for 60 euros cheaper than this year, and I thought it was already pricey then, but the food made up for it. I didn't think so this time. The food was good, but the price was too high. There was no experience if you weren't asked if everything was to your liking. A missed opportunity. I made a reservation at the end of December. We were seated in a dark corner (difficult to read the menu) against a coat rack. A cool breeze was palpable, and as the place emptied, we wrapped our scarves around them. The atmosphere was good and the decor is beautiful, but for now, I won't be going back due to the price-quality ratio. Unfortunately, the experience was too mediocre for that, and I hope for my dear that they don't price themselves out of the market with these prices.

We were a large group from work. The food was delicious, but the service took a very long time. As a result, we didn't get our main course until around 10:15 PM. Otherwise, it's a great location, and as I said, the food is delicious!

I ordered a cappuccino and a coffee latte to go, and it was really bad, there was to much milk cream which it was too much diluted, and me and my wife both had stomach pain afterwards. please teach your ( very ) young employees how to use or fix the milk machine or maybe just teach them how to make a real cappuccino / latte, thank you ! Oh and yes I am coffee expert so I know what I’m talking about !

What a charming café! The interior was modern yet warm. The barista made my coffee with care, and you could taste it. The cappuccino was creamy and full of flavor. I also had a slice of homemade cake, which was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. There was a pleasant bustle, but it remained comfortable. The windows offered a lovely view of the street. The chairs were comfortable, and the tables were clean. Everything was just perfect here. An absolute must for coffee lovers.

We had lunch at De Lieveling last week. The service was smooth, fast, and friendly. The fried chicken thighs were excellent and served on two crispy brown bread slices. Everything looked beautifully presented. We thought it was a great restaurant. Beautifully situated on the Toolenburgerplas lake. The acoustics inside are a bit less pleasant, but when it's busy, it echoes.

It was wonderful to have a drink on a Thursday evening; you weren't pressured into having a drink or a meal. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. A great experience, highly recommended.

Mijn verjaardagsfeest met ruim 50 gasten bij Lieveling op 8/8 was onvergetelijk! Dankzij de geweldige organisatie van Daphne Hoogland, het supervriendelijke en attente personeel en de leuke muziek van DJ Edwin was alles perfect. Het diner was heerlijk en ook de dieetwensen van enkele gasten zijn uitstekend verzorgd. De serre en het terras gaven een geweldige sfeer. Kortom een toplocatie en top geregeld! Absoluut een aanrader

Lovely terrace, beautifully situated on Toolenburger Plas. The food is a bit pricey, and it's a shame there aren't any fries or something similar. I ordered a bowl of soggy, limp fries for €6. €5.25 for a glass of homemade lemonade, which I think is a good deal. Next time, I'll go somewhere else.

Today, on a very hot day, I tried to have a drink on the terrace. It was practically empty. There were two large parasols, but they still managed to only have two tables in the shade, which were, of course, occupied. With a small baby, I don't want to sit in the sun, so I moved one table into the shade. A young waitress came over to tell me we couldn't move any more tables because she wouldn't be able to get past them. That was nonsense, because there was plenty of room to move around the table; nothing was blocking it. Furthermore, there were two tables on an otherwise empty terrace. My mother started an argument, but it became clear to me: if you're not hospitable, you're not getting my money. As I was leaving, someone shouted something along the lines of: "Well, then, no way." Poor service, and this isn't the first time. I've had young waitresses before, and they don't understand hospitality and service.

Had a delicious meal at the lake

Located in a recreational area by a lake, the restaurant offers a great lunch and beer menu. Beautifully decorated and with a spacious terrace. The service is impeccable.

The food was delicious and well-priced. A long-awaited meal was served for someone. It looked very pleasant and inviting. The service certainly did its best, but our eardrums nearly exploded when the music started. There was a bit of a hassle with drinks, which went wrong a few times, but otherwise we had a very good and enjoyable evening.
