Very disappointed ☹️ We were there last night and we left the restaurant with a very nasty feeling. We asked for tap water and they said they are not allowed to give tap water, this I already didn't like it. The service was very poor, the waitress were reacting often in a rude way, the food is nice but if one eats and then leave the restaurant with pain in the stomach because the people working there they are not very kind, it's not nice at all. Probably they are very scared of the manager, this is how a toxic environment is created. Boss be kind with your workers please .

Not Chinese-Indonesian food, but not 100% authentic either (I am Asian myself). It is somewhat adapted to the taste of the white Dutch person, but it doesn't taste bad. Sometimes a bit saltier and sweeter than I am used to in China. I have never seen shrimp dumplings with Japanese sesame sauce in China... The jasmine iced tea was super tasty though. The price is normal for a Dutch restaurant.

Today I visited my lovely little sister at her student house in Delft. Because of the delicious aroma I smelled every time she came back from her parties, I finally had to give it a try. And wow... what a delicious meal I had! I was really pleasantly surprised. In addition, the staff was super friendly, which completed the experience perfectly. Highly recommended! 😍🙌🍽️

The main-course portions were generous and genuinely filling, which I appreciated. We tried the Chinese tea, mango milk tea, vegetarian loempia, mapo tofu, and chicken fried rice. The food was satisfying overall, and the staff were friendly and attentive. That said, I found the prices slightly high for the overall experience. While the portions help justify some of the cost, the restaurant itself feels a little dull and could benefit from a warmer, more inviting atmosphere. The ambience was probably the weakest part of the visit. Good for a filling meal, but the setting and pricing stop it from being a place I would rush back to.

Good service and tasty, authentic Chinese food. We dined at Lychee as a large group, and we got to taste several dishes. All the meat was cooked very well, and nicely seasoned! Overall, we had great time and really enjoyed our meal. The service was fast and we had no issues.

Even though I never liked Chinese food (Indo-Chinese, that is), I came here on recommendation and have been hooked ever since! This is truly authentic Chinese food, and it is so well prepared. The whole family loves it, the service is incredibly nice, and we were helped in a friendly manner with our youngest, who is just 1. A really great restaurant that I now enjoy visiting or ordering from for home!

The main dishes were good, we ordered hunan special and boiled seabass in spices. The staff is nice and smiling.The special dessert was clearly disapointting (especially for 12.5€ !) Prices are quite high for what it is, waiting time was long and they dont offer tap water (always a big red flag) Decent experience for what it is, but not sure if I would go again

Sally and I went to Lychee on the evening of 21st Feb 2026. What a great place! Lively, attentive servers, very good value and exceptional food. With no reservation I think we were lucky to get a place. Highly recommended

I think this is one of the best Chinese food in Netherlands. And no, its not Dutch inspired Chinese food. It was pretty authentic as also told by friend. Everything was just delicious!!!! Definitely recommended :)

Lychee in Delft serves excellent food; everything was delicious and clearly prepared with care. Although our table was unfortunately somewhat overlooked by the staff, the taste and quality of the food more than made up for it. All in all, highly recommended.

The food was delicious; nothing like the Chinese-Indonesian restaurants we know in the Netherlands. Everything was freshly prepared; no greasy, thick sauces, but seasoned marinades or fish broth. There was meat, poultry (the duck was delicious and not too fatty), and tofu (wonderfully tender on the inside, crispy on the outside). The whitefish (sea bass) in soured soup turned out to be a boneless fillet; the head and tail were there for show. There were also plenty of fresh vegetables, incorporated into the meat dishes or ordered separately. There were six of us, which made it possible to order several dishes and share them. We really enjoyed the eggplant, for example, but I don't think it's suitable as a main course for a single person. It's precisely the combination with other dishes that makes it delicious. The owner suggested putting a variety of delicacies on the table for us beforehand, taking allergies into account. The spinach salad was especially delicious, along with the dumplings, spring rolls, and pork with syrup. As an extra entrée, we all wanted to try a plate of Peking duck. Then came the tenderloin in pepper sauce, lamb specialty, tofu with stir-fried vegetables (spicy), eggplant, sea bass in sour soup, and shrimp. Dessert wasn't included, but we did have a pot of jasmine tea. The only point for improvement for us was that our drinks weren't brought until very late (after the appetizers were already on the table) and we had to ask for them afterward. We also had to pay a hefty price for a bottle of still water, even though we also ordered other drinks. Ambience: no more fluorescent ceiling lights, but cozy lamps. The benches are also no longer in worn-out sky-leather red, but have different upholstery (which is also worn out). In short: we'll definitely be back; we enjoyed it.

Absolutely delicious! I'm always satisfied with my meal! They have Hunan-style stir-fried pork, grilled fish, and plenty of options for kids, both spicy and non-spicy.

Ordering food at Lychee wasn't a success. We ordered Shar Siu and pork belly with rice noodles and noodles. We received two bowls with large prawn crackers on the bottom and meat on top, to give the illusion that the bowl was full. The noodles were plain noodles that I could have gotten from a packet of instant noodles for a fraction of the price. The meat cost €19.50 each, and we had to pay another €5.50 each for the noodles and noodles. The price-quality ratio is seriously lacking here. This wasn't worth €50.

We had a fantastic meal here! The owner recommended several dishes, which we really appreciated since we hadn't eaten here before. We loved everything: tenderloin, scallops, dumplings, and Peking duck with pancakes. We were quite full by then. We'll definitely be back to try new things. Such lovely people!

In my opinion this is most original Chinese restaurant in town! Great specialties, very friendly service, really tasty dishes! This time we had the sea bass in a soup with pickled vegetables and a very tasty crispy duck accompanied with steamed rice! I totally recommend it!!!

The food was okay, but I expected more. The dishes were soaking in grease/oil (perhaps that's how it's supposed to be, but I found it too much). The staff was friendly, although it proved impossible to get a glass of still water.

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant, first of all we got to this place because it was on the corner of where we were staying which is the Harsenal hotel, we arrived and there were few people, so they showed us to a table and gave us the menus, it took them about 15 minutes to approach us, (it is worth mentioning that in this time a family arrived and they took their order first, which bothered me), after waiting for them to bring us the food, they hadn't even served us our drinks, when we wanted to ask for the bill, it was exactly a journey since nobody approached, I looked at them from a distance and nobody turned around, until a lady approached us we asked for the bill and it took another 10 minutes, we asked for it again and that was when she didn't give it; Personally, good service and good food make for an excellent restaurant. In this place, and based solely on my experience, it was excellent food, but poor service. I saw a comment from a woman saying something similar had happened. Perhaps it was just an oversight rather than discrimination against foreigners.

Tonight we ate at Lychee in Delft. Fantastic: original Chinese cuisine with special dishes, such as the potato salad. Involved and friendly staff. A must for anyone who loves real Chinese food.

The food was fantastic! Something different from the usual dishes. The Peking duck with pancakes was excellent. The Tipan dishes were delicious, and for the true gourmet, there are dishes on the menu that you'll find in very few places. Highly recommended.

I didn't expect the Maoxuewang to be so big! The portion is generous and the taste is good. The garlic pork is delicious. I recommend it!

Overall a very unfortunate experience. Saw the good reviews and had picked this spot in advance to dine for our one day in delft. Came in a little before 8 and was seated inside. Waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken. The host ended up taking orders of people who came after us. Despite making eye contact with who I presume was the owner multiple times, he continued to ignore us. Eventually gave up and left. Really disappointing to see this level of service for an establishment where you could easily spend upwards of 60-70 euros for a meal for 2. Hoping this was just poor service/coordination and not discrimination.

Lovely restaurant in Delft, one of the few gems that actually serves well made and cared for dishes that aren’t a watered down fast-food version of some original. I first discovered it when i happened to walk by & got stopped in my tracks by the wonderful smell from the kitchen that prompted me to eat there and i have been a regular ever since. Staff is lovely & swift in fixing any potential mistakes. Would totally recommend.

The Cauliflower was super salty, so salty that we couldn’t even eat it. The Mao Xue Wang wasn’t really authentic. As Chinese customers, we were disappointed.

The mapo tofu was silky smooth, umami-packed, and satisfyingly spicy. You must try it.

We had a fantastic experience here yesterday with a group a six hungry men. The food is out of this world! Rich in spices, the right amount of chili. A must whenever you are in Delft.

Haven't had Chinese food this great in a long time. We started with shrimp dumplings and then had duck with sweet and sour sauce and bok choy with garlic. I'm not usually a big fan of duck because it often tastes greasy to me but this was just melt in your mouth delicious.

The chefs who work here come directly from China, the (Dutch) owner told us. We're from Alkmaar, but we love coming back to Delft just to eat here. The only downside is that the staff speaks limited English and no Dutch. We noticed that many Asian people were eating here. The restaurant was packed, even after 8 pm.

We have been coming here since Lychee opened and have been happy regular customers. Recently(june 2025), the prices across all dishes have increased significantly. To the point that coming to lychee regularly is no longer feasible for us. Our regular order increased 19%, meaning we will sadly have to find a new regular place. Interior-wise this place is so-so. The menu is extensive. Staff is friendly. The food is quite authenthic. This restaurant has its own sort of signature spice-profile. The spice range of dishes can vary significantly week to week for the same dishes. So if you can't deal with spice, make sure to specify it in your order. Dishes are prepared with day fresh veggies which makes it that there will be different variations of veggies in some dishes each time you eat there. Sometimes you get asparagus, another time it's not there. Sometimes you get black-ear mushrooms, other times it's not there. It's not bothersome to me personally, but it's a quirk some people might need to pay attention to if you have allergies or specific preferences. By far, the best spicy Chinese food in Delft. Really not any competition in the city. Recommend; 口水鸡(mouth watering chicken)，蒜泥白肉(Suan ni bai ruo)，水煮牛肉(shui zhuo niu ruo)，孜然羊肉(cumin lamb). The new prices do not reflect the quality of value of the food itself. We can just as well travel to Rotterdam or The Hague and eat elsewhere.

The food was great and we really enjoyed it! The service could be more attentive, but overall we had a nice time. We visited on a very hot day, so we decided to sit outside because it was quite warm inside.

This is outrageous! We ordered meals for pick up three times, but none of them worked! Every time I confirmed my order in advance, when I got to the store, they would either say that the food "suddenly disappeared" or "was sold out." There was absolutely no notification or handling mechanism during the entire process. We were only told that there was nothing when we arrived at the scene. It was really shocking. Whether you book the day before, the day of, or a week in advance, the results are the same. Every time I went to the store to pick up the food, the store owner either pretended nothing happened or said "no" coldly. His attitude was extremely perfunctory and he had no sense of responsibility at all. Every time we took a half-hour train ride to pick up our meals, we were always disappointed and it was a wasted trip, which was really frustrating. The way the case was handled was even more shocking, with no compensation, apology or reasonable explanation, giving people the feeling that "you can't do anything to us anyway." This is just outrageous and totally disappointing attitude towards customers. Absolutely outrageous! We placed three separate pickup orders with this restaurant, and not a single one was fulfilled successfully! Every time, the order was confirmed, yet when we arrived at the store, they either claimed the food had “suddenly disappeared” or that it was “already sold out.” There was no prior notice, no update, nothing — we only found out after traveling all the way there. It didn’t matter whether we ordered the day before, the same day, or even a week in advance — each time we showed up, the owner just shrugged it off and said there was nothing, showing zero responsibility and a completely indifferent attitude. We took a 30-minute train ride each time to pick up the food, only to leave empty-handed again and again. It was incredibly frustrating. And the way they handled the situation was shocking — no apology, no compensation, not even an attempt to explain. It honestly felt like they thought, “What are you going to do about it?” This is no way to treat customers, and we’re extremely disappointed.

Delicious Chinese food, incredibly friendly people and top service! A real gem in Delft. Reservations are recommended because they don't have a lot of space for walk-ins and because it's super tasty it fills up quickly! This is one of my favorite places I've discovered in Delft!

Really delicious and authentic Chinese food! The Peking Duck was crispy and fatty. Really delciious! What I liked is that you get enough pancakes for the duck. In most restaurants I notice that you get not enough pancakes for the duck. The wagyu was tender, fatty and savory. Just amazing! We also had a stir fry, which was tasty and felt authentic as well.

This restaurant is a gem. We ordered the spicy fish and it was authentic and tasty. Service was prompt and food was served quickly and portions are good. If you are lucky, an orange cat may grace you with its presence.

Simple venue with copious quantities of competently prepared Chinese. Quick service. Popular, so make a reservation to be safe. Many dishes are claimed to be Szechuan but are so just in the most gentile way. We are experience Chinese travelers and food there is much spicier.

went on a Monday evening during the easter holiday, the owner was so friendly and helpful to help us find a seat without reservation in this busy restaurant. The fungus salad is super light and refreshing! The flour for the squid rings is just right, and the stir-fried green beans are as good as the ones stir-fried on a stove. How can the sourness of the pickled fish be so fragrant? The beef in the beef fried rice is also very, very tender and I couldn't marinate it myself. My friend said that the pineapple coconut is very pineapple. I think it is very coconut. Anyway, I always think it tastes good!

I was there today with my family for dinner. We had a great and very enjoyable time in a very cozy atmosphere. The food is very tasty and there is plenty of choices! Moreover, the personnel is very kind and helpful! Much recommended! :)
