We had a wonderful lunch at Mirror. The new owner has renovated and updated the entire place with a great sense of ambiance. Great service, a fantastic lunch, and after a brisk walk, we stopped for a drink. And to top it all off, we even took some sushi home. How beautiful can a sunny day be!

A truly beautiful restaurant. We had a delicious meal and drinks, with a lovely walk along the water in between. Friendly service and a warm welcome! We were seated at a long table with a large group, but even if you're with fewer people, it's a very cozy place to sit. Definitely recommended! There's also a separate space for events, and you can order delicious sushi to go—a truly top-notch spot!

The atmosphere is pleasant. From families to couples to groups of friends. The English lady and the young woman serving were pleasant, helpful, cheerful, and professional. The food is on the expensive side. The fried egg was good quality. The bisque wasn't heated through properly. Lukewarm soup is not tasty. The bread was very good. Some pleasant background music would be nice, but that was missing. The restroom was clean.

I'd known the former Middle Pavilion my whole life, taken many steps there, and thought it was a shame to see it neglected. The then-owner told me she was selling it, and to my great joy, I was at the brand-new At Mirror yesterday with my boyfriend and nieces for a three-course lunch. The website looked very tasteful, but this exceeded all our expectations. It's become so beautiful in this stunning location! What a wonderfully atmospheric interior, with a fireplace, everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. We received a very friendly welcome, our coats were taken, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The price/quality ratio was truly unbelievable. Highly recommended; we'll definitely be back. It was fantastic. Just go!

Fantastic food! Definitely worth it!

Deal through Tripper, but if all dishes have a surcharge, that's obviously not the intention. A very long wait for the main course after the starter. Portions are too small, for example, no fries with the main course, a small amount of mashed potatoes, and three vegetables with the pork tenderloin. Dame blanche, a small bun, a small dollop of whipped cream, and some chocolate sauce. Luckily it was a deal, but otherwise far too expensive. A shame because the restaurant has been beautifully renovated and the location is stunning. But for us, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The welcome and friendliness of the staff were excellent. As a starter, we had bread and butter, which was rock-hard and impossible to spread. For the main course, we had bavette. It was delicious, but it only came with two carrots and a small amount of ash-potato puree. We also got a small bowl of fries, which were all crumbs, with the occasional whole one. Dessert was also tasty but was gone after two bites. In short, the food was good, but very little for quite a lot of money. Oh yeah, if you give less than 5 stars, you can't post a review. I think the food deserves 2 stars because of the small portions.

After the renovation, it has become an impressive, beautiful, and atmospheric location. We had a delicious meal.

We had a wonderful time at At Mirror this afternoon. It's one of those places where you immediately notice the perfect atmosphere: warm, relaxed, and just the right amount of cozy without feeling forced. You feel instantly at ease. Host Constant—who lives up to his name by being consistently friendly and witty—ensured a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere throughout our lunch. His humor and attentiveness add that little something extra, making your visit more personal and enjoyable. The food was also really good. Beautiful flavors, well-prepared, and exactly what you expect when you just want a good meal without any fuss. All in all, it was a lovely afternoon: good ambiance, delicious food, and a host who made it all complete. We will definitely be back.

This is a true gem in Monnickendam on the Gouwzee. The service is very friendly, and there's a great atmosphere. It looks like a very clean restaurant, yet the service makes you feel like you're in a living room. It's recently completely renovated and exudes a calm, modern, and luxurious atmosphere. They have a good menu and a wide selection of wines. Highly recommended. There's a large terrace for the summer, and they also have a large room suitable for parties. Oh, and no, this isn't a review from one of the staff, but from a customer who is particularly impressed with this Monnickendam gem.

What a lovely place to enjoy a delicious meal. Such a wonderful, homey atmosphere. Our waitress, from England, was a very pleasant woman. She really helped us out. We had the feeling that everyone enjoyed working there. Unfortunately, that sometimes doesn't seem to be the case.

It was fantastic, incredibly well organized: Joey and Bob are very helpful, flexible, and service-oriented. The food was delicious, fresh, and plentiful, and the location, of course, absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for everything; it was an unforgettable afternoon for my dad.

The new owners have drastically renovated the restaurant and it's been open for about six months now. It's completely different and much better. The staff is friendly and well-trained. The decor is beautiful, cozy, and luxurious. Then there's the food. It's of a good standard, beautifully presented, and the price is right. This restaurant is definitely recommended.

Prepared with fresh ingredients, good portion sizes and extremely tasteful! All homemade and it shows! Everything is managed and arranged very well, and the staff seem happy and proud to work there, which is always a good sign. It's a place with a cosy interior that has endless possibilities for parties, events and dining options!

What an experience! A high wine at @Mirror Monnickendam. A 5-course wine tasting with accompanying dishes. Even the ladies who don't drink alcohol were catered for. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys good wine, and the food was also exquisite. And of course, let's not forget Joey. He took us on a wine tour from Spain to Germany, France, and Italy. Perfectly organized. A complete package.

We were alerted to this hidden gem through a Tripper deal, and last Friday we went there for a birthday dinner. It took a bit of searching in the dark, but once we pulled over to the Hemmeland parking lot, everything was clearly signposted. We were welcomed with a house amuse-bouche and thoroughly enjoyed steak tartare, sole, bavette, and affogato for dessert. I don't think there was a children's menu, but the fries and bitterballen from the drinks menu were perfect for our son 😊. The service is friendly and attentive, and we felt very welcome. We'd love to return during the day to combine a visit with a walk in the surrounding area.

We'd been there before the renovation, but it looks so much better now. What a change and improvement. Lovely terrace with a view of the Gouwzee and Marken. Excellent service. We received a super friendly welcome from Constant. We'll definitely be back soon.

A truly top-notch spot! After a major renovation, the current At Mirror is a fantastic addition to Monnickendam. A superb location with a private beach and a very atmospheric interior in beautiful sandy tones, but even more importantly: excellent food - reasonable prices and a pleasant welcome and service - we're convinced!

The staff was initially friendly. When my husband returned his sour onion soup, they said it was Worcestershire sauce he tasted. Then we had to wait over an hour and a half for the main course. Then came the comment, "Oh, you were in a hurry!" The seasonal vegetables were a plate of practically raw broccoli. We skipped dessert. It was all very disappointing...

We were warmly greeted by a young woman and seated in the atmospherically decorated restaurant – beautiful, warm, and modern at the same time. The menu is extensive and surprising. For starters, we chose the burrata and the smoked beetroot – both carefully prepared and bursting with flavor. For main courses, we opted for the sole and the chicken. These dishes were also perfectly prepared: fresh, beautifully presented, and made with genuine care. Everything was perfect from start to finish. A pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. Highly recommended – we will definitely be back!
