Met familie heerlijk gegeten bij de Koperen Vis. Onze familie in Monnikendam, nam ons mee voor een uitgebreide lunch. Prettige bediening en fijne sfeer. Lekker aan het water, aan het terras. Kan er niets anders aan toevoegen, dan dat het heerlijk vertoeven is!

Na een heerlijke overnachting in het hotel 's morgens op het buitenterras vriendelijk ontvangen voor het ontbijt. Eerst gestart met koffie een een goede kwaliteit thee. Voor het arrangement bij het hotel konden we een keuze maken uit alle gerechten van de ontbijtkaart. Zelf gekozen voor de kwark met vers fruit, honing en granola. Echt een goede start voor een mooie dag in Monnickendam.

Helaas was onze ervaring in dit restaurant verre van prettig. Het personeel was niet bepaald vriendelijk, waardoor we eigenlijk niet eens langer wilden blijven. Het voelde alsof de medewerkers hun werk zonder enig plezier deden, bijna alsof ze gedwongen werden. Wat het meest irriteerde, was dat de obers constant langs onze tafel liepen, maar ons bewust negeerden. Zelfs oogcontact vermeden ze, alsof we onzichtbaar waren. Zonde, want het eten was op zich niet slecht, maar de slechte service verpestte de hele ervaring. Ik zou dit restaurant niet aanraden tenzij er iets verandert aan de houding van het personeel.

Let op: prijzen op de website zijn afhaal-prijzen. Eten in restaurant is duurder. Prijzen zijn bovendien ‘kale’ prijzen: Groente of salade erbij? +€5 Frietjes of aardappeltjes erbij? +€5 Mooi authentiek pand, vriendelijk personeel, lekker eten.

C'est le premier restaurant que nous avons testé en Hollande et je dois dire que c'était une agréable découverte. Les repas étaient copieux, et il y en avait pour tous les goûts ( nous étions avec des végétariens qui avaient du choix sur la carte). Le sucré salé était vraiment très bien élaboré je recommande.

We actually had breakfast, lunch and dinner here over the three days we spent in. Monnickendam. The food and staff were great and the place has a wonderful atmosphere, as well as great seating outside.

Quiet, cozy place, fantastic and polite attention, good service, the shame is that, like almost all of Holland, the second most spoken language in the world (by number of countries) is not spoken…it is Spanish

Went again two weeks ago for a second chance. The food was good. The staff collectively did not feel like working and it looked like they had poop in their hands, so much cutlery was constantly falling on the floor, just not fun anymore. The staff was busier with each other than the guests. Unfortunately this was really the last time.

Always pleasant. Always tasty. We like to come there for lunch, dinner and a cup of coffee and something tasty.

Had lunch today (1-9-24). The Avocado toast for €12.50 was disappointing in terms of quantity. Only 1 small sandwich and mediocre fillings. The Caesar salad was on the menu for €14.50, but at checkout I was allowed to pay €18.50 for it. According to the staff it was a mistake and they corrected it. The service could have mentioned this when ordering. And does this mean that this salad has simply become €4 more expensive in a short time?

Cozy restaurant with nice terrace. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at an affordable price, highly recommended with a nice view.

The staff were quite arrogant and the food was very inconsistent. The sandwiches have very different sizes, we ordered two sandwiches of which one was less than half the size of the other. When paying the same price you expect similar sizes. The staff didn't take it back or offered a solution.

Wij wilde oesters eten en hadden op de site van internet gezien dat ze die hadden voor 9 euro per 3 stuks. Er was alleen nog een zitje vrij aan de waterkant. Wat een verschrikkelijk stoelen om in te zitten maar goed dat is onze persoonlijke mening. Door het rare tafeltje wat erbij hoorde kon ons schaaltje met 6 oesters er niet op staan. De bediening nam niet eens de moeite om iets te proberen. Ze heeft de schaal op de plantenbak achter ons gezet. We moeten zelf maar zien hoe we het gingen eten. De Procceco die we erbij bestelde voor 9 euro per flesje had geen bubbels. Was dood geslagen. Toen we de rekening vroegen kwamen we er achter dat de oesters geen 9 maar 12,50 waren per 3 stukje (staat wat anders op de site) Echt heel slecht allemaal, maar we mochten wel 45 euro afrekenen voor deze fantastische ervaring. Dit is meteen dus de laatste keer dat wij hier geweest zijn

We wanted to eat oysters and saw on the internet site that they had them for 9 euros per 3 pieces. There was only one seat available on the waterfront. What terrible chairs to sit in, but that's our personal opinion. Due to the strange table that came with it, our bowl with 6 oysters could not stand on it. The wait staff didn't even bother to try anything. She placed the bowl on the planter behind us. We'll just have to see for ourselves how we were going to eat it. The Procceco that we ordered for 9 euros per bottle had no bubbles. Was beaten to death. When we asked for the bill, we found out that the oysters were not 9 but 12.50 per 3 piece (it says differently on the site) It was all really bad, but we were allowed to pay 45 euros for this fantastic experience. I ordered a chicken burger with fries. Had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes just to get the wrong burger. They said "it will be ready in 5 minutes". Approximately 20 minutes later I had my order...

We went there today based on good reviews. The ambience invites you to linger. But staying here takes a really long time because you have to wait before you can place an order, let alone until you get the food served. Unfortunately we had to wait 1.5 hours. But the food here wasn't particularly good either. Burger and toast were ok, with the Cesar salad I first got a salad that was completely burnt and charred. The waitress' remark that Cesar Salad is like that here was more than incomprehensible. When I asked to replace the lettuce leaves because they were inedible, a new plate was served by another lady. It didn't look much better, but it was no longer burned on the grill. However, the lettuce leaves looked like the photo. Afterwards we were no longer treated kindly and were not asked whether the food was even tasty. We can't recommend this restaurant at all, nor can we fully understand the good reviews. It's a real shame that we chose this restaurant for lunch today. Unfortunately, after the owner has replied, it is not possible to provide feedback, so for clarification, this is provided here: Thank you for the feedback, but it is not true. I myself asked to replace the lettuce leaves. The waitress didn't ask once if it tasted good. Furthermore, there was no conversation at all when paying, I just asked for the bill. Since the food and service were not satisfactory, no tip would be given. How can you as the owner make such an incorrect comment in response to the constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement? Delicious food in the picturesque town of Monnickendam.

The food was very tasty and the location of the restaurant is very nice in the harbor. But we had to wait a long time for the waitress to even notice us and take our order. Still super nice. What we also find a bit critical are the fabric seating areas; Because there are a lot of crows flying around in the restaurant outside that want to get food and that's what the benches look like. Totally impractical. Either get rid of it completely or clean it regularly, in my opinion.

I will miss the restaurant. I went out to eat and drink here several times and had a particularly nice time here. Thank you very much 😎

Nous avons eu deux expériences dans cet établissement: A chaque fois, l'accueil n'était pas au top. La 1 ère fois pour dîner: ils avaient zappé notre réservation qui datait de l'après midi pour le soir! On a du discuter pour quand même avoir une table comme on le souhaitait. Le repas, les plats étaient très bien. Le lendemain matin, accueil déplorable pour prendre un petit déjeuner: La personne qui nous a accueilli (pas aimable du tout en fait) nous a refusé la table que l'on souhaitait en terrasse au soleil et au bord de l'eau (il faisait tres beau) en nous imposant une table à l'ombre sans discussion possible!!! Alors que nous avions fait une réservation la veille à la fin de notre dîner. Nous sommes partis. Donc oui, le dîner était bon, mais le reste laisse vraiment à désirer... De plus à cette saison, on a l'impression que le service est fait par que des jeunes (étudiants) dont certains s'en foutent complètement.

Our family had dinner here last night. It was our very first outing in Monnickenham, and we were excited for the experience. Not to mention, we had been traveling all day and were quite tired and hungry, and hoping for a good meal. We arrived early, and were only the second family to be seated outdoors. Our waitress served us our two appetizers and glasses of water, and took our orders (for simple entrees). Then, we waited and watched with our three young children for over an hour and 40 minutes as the outside pavilion filled up with over 20-30 different tables of people all being served appetizers and dinner entrees at their tables. They seemed to be getting their food within a half hour or so. Some even finished, paid and left as we continued our wait. During this time, we kept trying to flag down the waitress to ask for help with our order but she wouldn’t look our way. She was unfriendly and curt toward us and did not offer an apology. When our food finally arrived, a hour and 40 minutes later, several of our entrees were cold. Not that every experience is about race, but our family is a biracial family and it seemed as though that might have had an impact on how we were treated there. The rest of the clientele was white and seemed to be enjoying their experiences at the restaurant. We will never return to this establishment and would encourage other families like ours to think twice before going to this restaurant. In contrast, we have found other people and proprietors in Monnickenham to be kind and friendly toward us.

It is a beautiful old building, the service is friendly and the food was much appreciated by the entire group.

Yesterday we had another delicious meal at the copper fish. So far it has always been a good choice to eat here! Everything was very tasty again and despite the busy Jan Haring weekend everything went very smoothly! Very good service and all very friendly. Until next time 😁

Vanavond bij jullie gegeten, ambiance prima, personeel vriendelijk muziek vonden wij niet passend bij het diner, te druk te disco Voorgerechten bruschetta waren heerlijk. Hoofdgerecht Bavette was moeilijk te snijden terwijl dat eigenlijk mals vlees is om te snijden, was jammer Op zich prima genoten

Had a cup of coffee with an apple pastry here, it was good and in a beautiful location and it looks great inside too.

Good location, average food, very slow service. Waited a long time for our starters after finding out that our order was not even taken properly so ended up with a not so nicely fried gyoza and missed the carpaccio. The sauce and the green below the gyoza was OK but the gyoza itself lacked flavor. Burger patty was dry and salty. Bacon was placed inside as if it was squeezed in a fist and just thrown in. Steak was OK but the jus kind of lacked the actual jus, was mostly oil... The chocolate lava cake looked nice but the sides on the plate (ice cream, waffle) was too sweet. Overall, sat for 2.5 hrs to get the 4 dishes you see in the photos. Not sure if l will go back.

We weren't thrilled with our visit because we had to wait a very long time until we were served and until the food came. It was very crowded that evening (and also the European Championship game in the Netherlands), but it was supposed to be that long There is no waiting time. The food was good, but my Satespiesse (Kipsate) was too spicy (for me). The online menu didn't mention the spiciness of this dish and since we weren't given any menus, we had to choose the dishes online.

The location and lunch were good. Too bad about the presence of crows on the terrace. However, I don't think the operator of De Koperen Vis can do much about this

Essen bestellt und nach mehr als einer Stunde noch nicht da! Auf Nachfrage dann die Info „dauert noch 4 Minuten“ ! Als das Essen dann endlich da, war war es kalt 🤢 Service Schecht! Dazu kommt noch das das Klo total dreckig und eines davon verstopft war - also geht gar nicht! Lediglich 2 Sterne weil die Aussieht nett out

We waited over an hour for the food and then it was minimalist and cold. That doesn't have to be the case for €30. In addition, the service is catastrophic. Things are forgotten everywhere, people are ignored and the like. The only thing that is nice is the view depending on where you sit outside. For the money, not recommended.

Service is practically non-existent. Several customers repeatedly had to go inside to order. The staff completely ignores you. This borders on refusing to work. Also extremely unfriendly. 1 small slice of bread with avocado and fried egg also costs €12.50. 😄 The taste is okay, but you can't really go wrong with it. 🙈

We had eaten here last year and thought we would give it another chance. I'm not into bad reviews, but I really need to say this. Beautiful tent, both inside and outside. We first sat on the terrace, but no one came to ask if we wanted something to drink. Then we decided to move indoors. We sat there waiting for someone to ask us if we wanted something to drink or if we would even get a menu. No one! (While there were five staff members walking around and chatting.) It wasn't even busy; there were only two tables occupied at the time. In the end we asked ourselves if we could order something. We received the menu and ordered immediately! The chicken satay was tasty, but the pulled chicken burger was an absolute no-go! I almost wanted to ask for a straw! OMG! So much sauce! A real shame. If you order these, ask if they can use less sauce. Carpaccio was tasty, but it's a pity that the arugula was absolutely not fresh. Indicate this and they made new ones, more arugula was old. Second time not a good experience.

There was a piece of glass in the salad and later in my mouth. The waitress said sorry, but received no further apology or compensation. Very sorry

Been here many times but now it was quite disappointing, the food was fine, only the service was a disappointment, I understand when it is busy that it all takes longer and that didn't matter much to us, but when you see that all the tables are well are helped and provided with drinks every time and the guy serving doesn't even want to look in our direction. We sat there for 2 and a half hours and everyone only had 2 drinks per person. After a while your blood starts to boil if you are the only table who is not helped properly... you see that 4 people don't have a drink, you would think that you would be asked, but no... This is very unfortunate!

The Koperen Vis is a nice restaurant at an awesome location. The outside terrace has an amazing atmosphere. The food for me (Ossenhaas Saté) was good and presented on a mini Grill. but my wife was not impressed with the vegetarian food. The cutlery doesn’t look that inviting as the greasy menu card. The terrace could use a wipe. These things could improve the overall experience. Still a very nice place to go.

I thought this place would be good, but the service was terrible and the food was mediocre. We got the steak tartare, which looked nothing how it looks in the photos. Same as the surf and turf - Shrimp was fine but steak was not fresh and the vegetables weren’t cooked. It was way overpriced for what you get. Unfortunate as the setting is nice by the water.

Based in an old synagogue this is now a hip and trendy bar/restaurant. Breakfast was big not necessarily the best but value for money.

Service is inadequate, especially on the terrace. Probably short staffed. Those girls can't do anything about it, but they don't really seem to be prompted to check if there are customers outside. I think this is a restaurant you should not go to because we came in and were taken to a table without a hello, when we wanted to order they said: “relax, the system is bad”, while we still remained friendly and it was not our fault. that the system is not in order, then they gave our coffees what we ordered, she did not give it to me but to my husband I said: "what is this, the cappuccino or the normal coffee, she says: "oh it it has to be the other way around,” she slides it like that and it almost fell, people were sitting next to us and they also said what a shame, not a nice service in any case!

Een kleine toevoeging op het bezoek deze week. De kolen worden duurder. Waar er eerst kooltjes die licht nagloeide onder de kipsateh werden geserveerd, was dit keer een zielig stukje kool die er als accessoire lag. In het begin was de bediening super, ik had mijn jas nog niet uit en er werd al gevraagd wat ik wilde drinken. Maar de bediening werd minder en het leek alsof de voorkant van het restaurant belangrijker was. De tafel plakte, leek wel een behang tafel. Eten was goed overigens en het restaurant was mooi in de kerstsfeer. Restaurant De Koperen Vis in Monnickendam is een geweldige keuze voor iedereen die op zoek is naar een lekkere maaltijd in een ontspannen omgeving. Met een prachtige locatie aan het water en een uitgebreide menukaart. De gerechten zijn verrukkelijk en het vriendelijke personeel maakt het bezoek compleet. Een absolute aanrader!
