We had the 4-course chef's menu. There is a new chef who makes everything fresh, and you can taste it. We had a delicious meal. Beautiful, delicate flavors; the fresh pasta, polenta, and veal cheek—everything was perfect. Good wine to accompany it, which you can hardly find anywhere else. The quality of the food is what you expect in a chic restaurant. Recommendation: pay a visit soon for real Italian food 🍽️😊

Yesterday we spontaneously walked in for dinner. The service was super friendly and the food really delicious! Unfortunately, we didn't have much time, but we shared two main courses and a dessert. It was really great!

After a bad experience a few months ago, we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, our experience was even worse this time; the owner was very unfriendly, the food wasn't tasty, and it was far too expensive. You don't even get anything tasty with the coffee, and the bread rolls served beforehand are disgusting. All in all, a very unpleasant and unpleasant experience. This place is outdated; for this money, you can eat very well somewhere else where people have a passion for their craft. Fortunately, there are still real Italian restaurants in Arnhem.

Last night I ate a delicious, but far too small portion of ravioli. Right next to me, a staff member took the vacuum cleaner out of a cupboard. That certainly made the ravioli taste different. The staff were friendly in themselves, but the Italian atmosphere was missing; soft music, the decor of the part of the restaurant where we were sitting. High price for all of this, a shame! The food used to be better here a while ago.

The truffle pasta and the pistachio lava cake were especially fantastic! The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed, not as stuffy and commercial as you often find in restaurants these days. A true Veen gem!

We ate at Da Gigi for the first time last night. What an atmosphere! The staff was very friendly and there was lots of laughter. The food was fantastic! We chose a Quatro Fromaggi and the Tagliatelle Tartufo. Truly the most delicious options we've ever had. Plenty of options for vegetarians, and vegans too. New favorite restaurant? I think so.

We came together from the east, north, and south tonight at DaGigi, and it was a real hit! Delicious food, a lovely atmosphere, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, and perfect company! The swordfish ravioli, like the other dishes, was delicious, beautifully presented, and generously portioned. We practically licked our plates clean! We dined at DaGigi for the first time tonight, and in a word, it was delicious! Somewhat hidden behind the facade, you'll find a warm welcome from the DaGigi team, who know exactly how to prepare and taste their homemade dishes. We also appreciated their advice on the wines. It's wonderful that they've chosen Italian products, many of them from the family's own region, and that the dishes are clearly freshly prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you!

I've read some reviews and I don't get it. We've been coming here for years and always enjoy it. The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is great, and the food is delicious. You don't enter a 5-star restaurant with everyone in suits... You experience the atmosphere and conviviality of Italy, exactly as it should be. These days, it's "all you can eat" everywhere, and the flavors are the same everywhere, so you'll eat your fill. Here you get Italian cuisine, made with passion. The same dish doesn't taste 100% the same every time because it's made with genuine ingredients and herbs. Sometimes a little more sauce, sometimes the pizza crust a little thinner, or sometimes a little more onion in the pasta (as is normal with fresh food). But always excellent. I've tried the entire menu a few times now (which is why I'm also very happy with the dishes off the menu. It's a nice variety), and sometimes I've come across something I didn't like. Not because of anything on the restaurant's part, but simply my own taste. They also check if the food is as it should be and offer suggestions for solutions. Depending on your budget, it can be a cheap evening, but it can also be expensive. A good main course and drinks might set you back €25 per person. But you really shouldn't miss out on a starter. That's why we often like to share one. Just for the taste. Ordering is the same price as eating there, and I personally don't think it's worth it. The experience of the atmosphere and conviviality, and eating a plate of food, feels much better than the same thing at home on the couch from a plastic container. We keep coming back. I went to this restaurant for pasta, and it was a very disappointing experience. The pasta was poorly prepared, and I couldn’t even eat it. Even after mentioning it to the staff, I was still charged €19 for a dish that was not fit to eat. Very poor service and quality well below expectations. I would not recommend it.

Ridiculously expensive. We ordered spaghetti, and it wasn't listed among the starters, but it was so small we went home hungry. €8.50 for a glass of house wine. Ridiculous. We won't be going back.

We ordered food for four people, and the taste was okay, but nothing more than okay, definitely not worth €80. For over €80, we got three pasta dishes and one pizza. I expect more from a pasta dish than a plastic container holding barely 400 grams. Two of them were the same pasta dishes, but one container held less than 400 grams. Charging these prices in a restaurant is understandable (but even there, a €19 pasta dish is ridiculous). This delivery service for this price is truly mediocre. Especially considering that at other restaurants, you can get four times the amount of food for four people for €40, €50, or €60, compared to what we had. Think Greek, Chinese, etc.

I ate here with a friend. We had delicious pasta, and the service was excellent. Even though we hadn't booked and it was quite busy, they made an effort to get us a table. I noticed the waitstaff were having a lot of fun together, which was lovely to see.

We've been enjoying dining at Da Gigi since we were kids. Since the change of ownership, we noticed a decline in the atmosphere, ambiance (including the red interior), and professionalism of the service, but the food remained good, which kept us coming back. Our last visit, however, was a huge disappointment. Besides the fact that the food was definitely of lower quality (especially considering the high price), we were also assigned a very uninviting spot right next to the kitchen, where staff constantly walked by and you could hear all the noise of dishes and cutlery. The lasagna was also very mediocre: dry, small portions, hardly any sauce between the layers, and burnt edges. When we politely mentioned this to the waitress (who was actually friendly), the owner intervened and unexpectedly gave us an antisocial scolding in the middle of the restaurant. According to him, it was all about our "taste perception" and that we didn't understand what a real lasagna is, because the recipe supposedly belonged to his mother 70 years ago. Then he walked away without any understanding or further explanation. We were truly stunned and dumbfounded by how they treated their guests. The waitress politely tried to resolve the issue by offering us a new dish, but the atmosphere was completely ruined. In hindsight, we should have left immediately... At home, we also discovered we'd paid for a drink costing almost €6 that we hadn't even received/ordered. In other critical reviews, the owner repeatedly responds by saying they want you to tell them what wasn't to your liking, but when you actually do, they give you a hard time and blame you. All in all, a very negative experience. After years of being regular customers, we will definitely not be returning, nor will anyone else with whom we shared this experience. It's a shame that an owner treats customers so antisocially, especially when you're trying to give feedback politely.

Arrogant service; we were made to feel lucky to be eating there! When they brought our dishes, they warned us to be careful because the plates were "hot"! So, not because of that, lukewarm spaghetti carbonara; we reported it, but they ignored it. Four of us ate for €170 with a social deal. Awful red-painted rooms.

I'm a real pain in the ass when it comes to restaurants; I always have an opinion about everything. This restaurant was recommended to us by someone I was sitting next to at another restaurant. He said it was fantastic, authentic Italian food, everything fresh and homemade. Well, that wasn't a lie at all. We had such a delicious meal, it was amazing. The people were friendly, too, and the service was attentive, but not condescending or anything. I'm giving it a 10 because there was absolutely nothing to complain about.

We had a poor experience. The ambiance is very nice, but the crew is clearly not adapt to handle a larger group. We were with 11 people and had to wait more than 75 min for our pizza’s and only after we asked when we could expect them, they started preparing them. They told us it was very busy with orders for delivery but it is not okay in our opinion that these took priority over our order. When the pizza did finally arrive, they we not sufficiently baked. The mozzarella was clearly not fully melded and the dough was still very soft. The pizza calzone was also very poorly filled. Overall, the pizza’s looked as if prepared in a hurry. Our feedback did seem to make an impression on the staff. Wouldn’t recommend this place, certainly not for groups.

Haven't eaten on site yet. But the pizzas are fantastic. Delicious base with real fresh toppings. The catering is highly recommended. The pizza plates are delivered in a warming box. So you don't have to put all the pizzas on the table right away. Five of us ate a pizza plate with normal and extremely satisfied eaters.

Fantastic food and a very good wine selection. Traditional Italian food isn't something you find very often in the Netherlands, but Da Gigi is. We've been searching for this for ages! Definitely recommended for any Italian lover looking for a good restaurant in the Netherlands.

What a great discovery! We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! We opted for the surprise menu, which was excellently put together with surprising flavors and a beautiful structure. The absolute highlight was the ribeye – perfectly prepared and full of flavour. In addition, the friendly and attentive host made the evening complete. His hospitality gave the whole experience an extra warm and personal touch. Definitely a place to come back!

Unfortunately, Da Gigi is really not what it used to be. Then talk about home delivery/collection. Tried it a few times recently but it's really too sad. Pizzas are really good but overpriced. But the pastas are really not edible, carbonara can really be called a carbonara. And you pay 25 (!!!!) euros for that. Really scandalous. I can also do the Bolognese and the Nduja much better myself. Such a shame because it was always so tasty. Next time make it yourself. To say something positive about it: they delivered quickly and the staff is friendly.

We come here very regularly, and it is always good. Regular specials outside the menu, so it doesn't get boring. The wines are also top notch.

Was topped with more cheese than tuna We also ordered a loaf of bread, normally the rolls are round and warm and today it was really cold and a bit too thick. I think the quality of pizza has changed here, a pity better if I go, get a pizza at the jumbo.

Da Gigi used to be my favorite, but since it was taken over the atmosphere and hospitality are no longer what they used to be. One example: We wanted to come and have a pizza. The entire restaurant was empty, but we had to sit in the narrow, bright red hallway directly opposite the kitchen where everyone kept walking back and forth because the conservatory was “only for a la carte guests” (??). The conservatory remained empty all evening except for one group of four. The response to our surprise was curt and unkind. I would like to tell you to pay attention to every customer and hope that you will do something with this feedback. Use that conservatory. Greetings, Gemma Edit in response to the response: Da Gigi doesn't even know what date it is. There was no private group at the back of the conservatory that evening, and there was one table in use.

There are original dishes on the menu (we had a daily special and the Ripieno as main dishes), which were fresh and delicious. We also liked that there were several real Italian drinks on the menu. Just got pizza and carbonara, but it wasn't what I expected. The pizza was quite salty and greasy. As for the carbonara, it was also on the salty side and a little too much pepper was used. Expensive but not tasty.

Lasagna is half portion compared to other restaurants. Pretty much just dough. Garlic sauce on sandwich also half portion and pizza had mushrooms from a jar or something and almost no sauce. Very bad

Echt authentiek Italiaans eten zoals wij vanuit huis gewend zijn. Normaal komen we a la carte, maar laatste keer voor het verrassingsmenu, dit was helemaal top! De bediening / sfeer en eten geeft ons het gevoel alsof we even weer in Italië zijn.

Our week of camping in Renswoude has received a 100% upgrade because we discovered restaurant DaGigi in nearby Veenendaal. What a very nice and pleasant service, the attractive terrace garden really has added value, but above all the fantastic food is very authentic Italian. Bruchetta with truffle and egg, homemade ravioli with squid, delicious rib-eye, delicious dolci and a top cheese board. Prepared with knowledge and attention, taking into account a medical diet. Da Gigi is clearly run by people with passion. This week we have been to Veenendaal twice and will certainly return more often from Groningen.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening with great food and super nice staff. We had carpaccio as an appetizer (it is dried, but it was very pleasant) and bruchetta with fried egg yolk, which was also super tasty. As a main course we had a pizza, pasta carbonara and another pasta. The taste was perfect. The pizza was crispy and perfectly baked in a pizza oven, the pasta was well seasoned and delicious in taste. The carbonara in combination with the truffle was really great! We also had a wine that the waiter recommended and it went really well with it (delicious red wine that does not feel so dry in the mouth). My compliments to the service for this. To finish we had a tiramisu, a pistachio lava cake and an ice cream cake in combination with an amaretto (a real instead of the standard disaronno) and pistachio liqueur. These were also well received. The three of us spent about 215 euros, so that's quite pricey, but we thought what you got in return was more than worth it. This restaurant knows what they are talking about and what they are doing and that brand is reflected in the staff and the dishes. All in all a very nice experience!
