Restaurant Saputra in Centrum

We had a very tasty meal (we had the rijsttafel, which was just right in terms of quantity), very hospitable and luckily wheat beer was also available.

The food, a rijsttafel (rice table), was perfectly fine. But then there was the service. Upon arrival, a waiter who knew his stuff. But then at the table... a waitress who absolutely scored low. Plates were slammed on the table, a snarl and a growl when ordering a drink, and you had to figure out where to put the warming plates yourself. Bowls here... take them. If you're not in the mood, girl, you should stay home. A real downer on a lovely evening.

Last night we dined at Saputra for the third time. They've managed to perfectly capture the charm of the previous location at the new one. It was very cozy and inviting. We received a warm welcome, and the food was simply fantastic. We had the chef's special five-course menu with wine pairing. Every dish was so delicious with the accompanying wine. The service was very friendly. We'd never been to another Indonesian restaurant. This one is top-notch!

We pass by Saputra restaurant every day. Many restaurants have tried this location, but unfortunately, they haven't succeeded so far. But where others haven't, Saputra has. We really wanted to eat here, but without a reservation, you don't have a chance. So we had to book through the website, and that went smoothly. When we arrived at 6:00 PM on a Wednesday, it was already starting to get busy. In no time, the entire restaurant was full. We were shown to our table and ordered drinks. Since it was our first time, we wanted to try a bit of everything, so we chose the rijsttafel (rice table). Despite the crowd, everything went smoothly. We were given pangsit goreng as a starter, and we loved it. You do need to like spicy food, though, because the sauce was quite spicy. No problem for us, it was delicious! Then came our rijsttafel with quite a few dishes, too many to mention here. The waitress named the dishes, and we were familiar with them (I cook a lot of Indonesian food myself). Every dish was exceptionally delicious. I'd like to mention a few because they really stood out. The daging smoor was so spicy and tender. The oedang peteh was delicious, and the sambal goreng telor left me wanting more. The rijsttafel (rice table) was also more than enough for the two of us. For dessert, we could have chosen spekkoek (a Dutch pastry) with coffee, but my stomach protested. I was full. My partner did have the spekkoek with some spekkoek ice cream, which he was also very enthusiastic about. There was one minor drawback, though: the noise. The high ceiling made it incredibly noisy, and we couldn't manage a proper conversation! But that's forgivable. Until next time!

We visited this new location on Oostwaarts for the first time. It was a fantastic culinary experience; we thoroughly enjoyed the Indonesian cuisine. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. We received a friendly welcome and were shown to a table close to the kitchen, allowing us to clearly see how the Indonesian dishes were prepared and presented. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. Delicious meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes are available. We enjoyed the chicken and vegetarian satay. For the main course, we had a vegetarian dish and a rendang. For dessert, we enjoyed a delicious layer cake ice cream. In short, highly recommended (but make sure to book in advance)!

We opted for the 4-course menu. Portions were minimal: Bebek Betutu, 4 small slices of duck, and Tongseng Kambing, 8 crumbs, with no discernible or discernible meat. A bowl of rice was also included! Pannacotta rose syrup was inedible with a fork, so why not a spoon? All in all, it was disappointing, and we paid €120. It tasted good, but surely it should have been a bit more than that?

The two of us went out for dinner at the new Saputra location. We opted for a four-course menu, but the portions were noticeably small—this was already noticeable with the first two dishes. For my main course, I had lamb: it consisted of only four small pieces of lamb. When I confronted the waitress about this and she checked with the kitchen, I received the exact same plate back with the message that the portions are smaller with a full-course menu. However, this wasn't mentioned anywhere on the menu. After the main course was gone (literally in one bite), we had to wait over 45 minutes for our plates to be collected. When I expressed my displeasure again to another waitress, I was only told that it would be "passed on"—but that, of course, was of no use to me. All in all, the food was delicious. Misleading information about portion size. Still quite hungry after the whole experience. To me, this almost felt like a scam.

In a word, fantastic! The welcome from the host was already fantastic, a beautiful, cozy restaurant with an open kitchen. With the host's help, we opted for Rijsttafels (rice tables), and what excellent and delicious food, served as appetizers, main courses, and dessert. Everything was a flavor explosion and beautifully presented. Truly everything was fantastic, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, with a fantastic host. Ate here for the first time with friends. It's new, so they're still getting used to it. The tables in the back are very close together and therefore quite cramped. The food is very tasty. I had nasi goreng and satay, and the flavors were fantastic. Unfortunately, they didn't have fish in stock even though it was on the menu, which is of course a drawback. We'll wait a bit before going back to make sure they have everything in order.

Fantastic! A truly warm welcome on my mother's birthday, incredibly friendly and fun, young staff—that's truly unique these days! And then the food... wow, the best Indo we've tasted so far! 🤤 We'll definitely be back! 🤩

I was here last night with my sister and brother-in-law. Unfortunately, my sister had to be admitted to the hospital halfway through. When we tried to pay quickly, she refused. We had a wonderful meal here last Saturday. We were with two young children, and a delicious and appropriate children's menu was available. We opted for the Indofoods rijsttafel (rice table): it was not only delicious but also more than enough. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel immediately welcome. We had a fantastic evening and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

This was our second time here. The first time, we had the rijsttafel (rice table) through a social deal. The second time, we ordered from the menu. We had Rendang, which was really spicy, just as it should be, and the bebebek betutu was also delicious. Everything was so delicious that I'm curious to try the rest of the menu. We'll be back soon after you've moved.

This restaurant is well-hidden in a residential area. You can also get takeout. There's a small terrace. Inside, it's nice and cozy. The food is unique and fantastic. There's a wide selection of appetizers, side dishes, main courses, and desserts. We were a group of four and had a wonderful meal, allowing us to try so many dishes. Highly recommended. The young staff is friendly and helpful. You rarely see that anymore. So go there for a truly well-catered afternoon/evening.

The perfect flavor experience! Very friendly staff, the food is close to perfection!! My favorite foods/flavors are duck, pandan, mango, crème brulee and I had everything I love in one evening. Also happy it was wheelchair accessible(not the toilet). Whenever I am near Zoetermeer, I need to return from now on. 😁

My stomach couldn’t handle European food anymore. I was so lucky to come across this restaurant. I needed authentic Asian food and boy did I get it. The beef rendang was cooked to perfection for me. The sambal and achar on the side just sent my palate to heaven! Chef Saputra, the people in the Netherlands have no idea how authentic and amazing your food is. Certainly one of the highlights of my husband’s and my European trip. I will not forget.

Lovely Indonesian restaurant (unexpectedly, amidst blocks of flats). The staff was warm and personal. We had the special Saputra rijsttafel. The dishes were beautifully presented and very tasty. The only thing we would have preferred was for the rijsstafel to be more balanced with respect to meat and vegetable dishes; it was very meat-based (75-80%). This is, of course, personal preference, and we should have asked about this before ordering, so we do not blame the cook or restaurant owners 😉. The desserts were amazing!

Indonesian background (my parents and brother were born in the Dutch East Indies), so spoiled when it comes to Indonesian food. There is absolutely nothing to complain about in this restaurant. The rice table was of a quality that I unfortunately do not encounter that often anymore. Recommended!

Zoetermeer is not really in my book a place with great restaurants but Saputra is certainly worth making the trip. An upscale cosy place with about 25 covers. On a Wednesday night the place was almost sold out. Of course it did help that a great review was posted in a The Hague newspaper. We kicked off with a tea and Chardonnay which was of a fine quality. They have about 12 open wines which one doesn't see that much at Indonesian restaurants. We shared the seafood pangsit which was so crispy and exploding with flavour. Next a glass of very nice Verdejo with a satay Kambing and Babi. Beautifully roasted and it came with there great katjang sauce and ketjap sauce. We moved on with kepiting, soft shell crab, Urapan, veggies which was served with pandan rice and atjar Ketimun. All these dishes were enormously tasty. It has been quite a while that we went to a Indonesian restaurant were all the dishes were excellent. We were served by a gentleman who was very helpful and pleasant. he divulged it was his first night and used to run his own French restaurant. Saputra is highly recommended.

Tasty food with fresh ingredients. I had indicated that I did not like spicy food and this was taken into account. Free parking nearby, just a short walk and then you're there.

Yesterday, Sunday November 24, we had a delicious meal with the four of us at Saputra. What a pleasure. Great food, friendly and pleasant service in an attractive environment. Everything fresh and tasty. This was the first time we were here, but certainly not the last time. We have several Indonesian restaurants in the area and Saputra is really one of the best. Vanavond heerlijk wezen eten bij dit Indonesisch restaurant, een letterlijk verborgen pareltje. Parkeergelegenheid voldoende (om de hoek). Supervriendelijke gastheer en gastvrouw. Vanavond konden we (helaas) niet a la carte eten, enkel rijsttafel. Nou, eigenlijk is dat de mooiste kennismaking, nu proef je van veel meer gerechten dan wanneer het a la carte was. Kortom een mooie smaaksensatie en alle 4 waren wij zeer tevreden over de gerechten. Wij komen hier zeker weer terug, dan wel a la carte want we willen nog veel meer proeven. Dit restaurant is gevestigd in de opgeknapte wijk Palenstein en daarmee buiten het Horeca gebied van Zoetermeer. We kunnen u alleen maar aanraden om hier eens Indonesisch te gaan eten. Wij hebben genoten van een overheerlijke rijsttafel waarbij niet de traditionele gerechten werden geserveerd. Ook anders dat de gerechten in de vorm van een 4 gangen menu werden geserveerd. This restaurant definitely deserves a 10! What a pleasant surprise this spontaneous dinner out was for us. Beautifully laid out plates, extensive (but not too extensive) menu with matching wine tips. We shared three dishes and they were all excellent. The wait staff tried so hard, we felt completely pampered. The restaurant itself is very attractively decorated. Recommended!!

Called for information about vegetarian food. Everything was possible. Man sounded spontaneous on the phone. Came for dinner to celebrate a 50th birthday. Quite cold and impersonal reception. Suddenly vegetarian food was "difficult". Not once did they come to the table to ask how it tasted. No service when leaving either. The food was decent. Unfortunately, we will not be eating here again anytime soon and certainly not celebrating a birthday.

Ate a rice table here with friends via Social Deal. We enjoyed it, it was more than enough and if there are dishes with Peteh beans, it's completely fine for me. The service is excellent, fast and polite. We will definitely come back someday.

Saputra is a small, cozy, attractively decorated restaurant. They call it fine dining, and fine dining it is! You have to be patient, a lot of patience, about 1.5 hours (the sous chef was on holiday...), but then you have something! Every dish looks beautifully presented, truly made with love. The flavors are unprecedented, I have never eaten Indonesian food like this before! Really special and incredibly tasty! We ate: Bebek Betutu (duck breast fillet), Ikan Penyet (fried sea bass), Rendang Padang (beef), Kepiting (soft shell crab) and Urapan (vegetables with coconut)

Wij kennen de eigenaar van zijn uitstekende catering en wilden weleens zijn restaurant gaan beproeven. Nou is het restaurant een beetje lastig te vinden omdat het verscholen is achter hoge gebouwen. Maar eenmaal gevonden treed je binnen in een klein maar gezellig restaurant. Wij werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen door Bas (de eigenaar). De menukaart is helder en wij kozen voor de Rijsttafel Saputra. Dan krijg je eigenlijk zo'n beetje alles wat de keuken heeft te bieden. En voor € 47, 50 p.p. krijg je ook een hele uitgebreide rijsttafel. Een amuse vooraf en daarna heerlijke aparte gerechtjes. Dus niet gelijk de hele tafel bomvol maar telkens weer een lekkernij. Na twee tussengerechten volgt de rest van de rijsttafel. Heerlijk gewoon.

We ate here today with a group of 5 hungry men, with spoiled taste, including 2 Indos. Great service, food superb. One of us eats gluten-free, no problem. Rice table adjusted, thinking about alternatives. Good wine with it. Delicious Bintang beer. And truly fantastic service. Although neither of us live in the area, we came here for its central location, we will have to come here again. Recommended!!

Zeer smaakvolle gerechten die kleurrijk en netjes opgemaakt zijn. Bediening waarschuwt voor zeer hete (peper) gerechten voordat dus gekozen worden en ook bij het serveren bijv bij de heerlijke soto. De meergangen menu optie is een aanrader. Aanraders: Dada Isi, de Soto en de Blue Crab

𝗦𝗸𝘆 𝗜𝘀 𝗟𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 Because we had not made a reservation, we were allowed to take a seat at the highest table in the homely decorated restaurant. Because there is room for 2. It is nice and warm and cozy. The authentic order, and the waitress's warning, will soon reconfirm this. The Indo beef stew pedis is served in a fried edible shell with ditto deep fried rice noodles around it. The white rice and the bami goreng provided our now numbed double tongue with the necessary cooling rest. We aspired to "𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴" so the golden yellow Soto Ayam served on the high bowl candle warmer in the middle of the table came in handy. Enjoy with soup and man! This chicken nectar, which is poured with high strokes at the table, is so richly filled and beautiful in color. The combination of pointed cabbage, egg and bean sprouts will certainly remind us of it later😅😜♥️. Just as the Surinamese strictly guard their Pom heritage, the Indo supporters also like to do the same with (their) satay. So should your circle of friends consist of this brotherhood melting pot? Then you will often be served the best and tastiest. By the way... I spontaneously feel a friendly satay master competition coming on one of our next 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗻'𝘀? Anyway, this one also slid smoothly off the sticks towards Maula. And.... not to be forgotten, and just as important! The peanut sauce was of premium quality and easy to drink. Are we there yet? We took the blanched vegetables with coconut and edible flower feast home. As far as we are concerned, 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮 will receive the golden carpet beater award. The Palenstein district brings us beautiful things🙌.

Heerlijk gegeten in dit kleine sfeervolle restaurant. Hele vriendelijke bediening. Uitleg gekregen van de door de koks gemaakte gerechten bij het uitserveren. Daarom complimenten aan de koks en bediening, hele gezellige avond met vrienden gehad en uitstekend gegeten!

If you want Indian food in a cozy, homely atmosphere, then Saputra in Zoetermeer is the place to be! Delicious dishes and friendly staff, in short, highly recommended 👌 We had the Indofoods rice table for 2 people and it was more than sufficient and the choice was great.

The food and its presentation was amazing! First time Indonesian for me, definitely worth repeating. Delicious dishes and tantalizing sauces. You can almost eat the pork belly as a main course because it is so tender and tasty. The pangsit seafood was also very nice. Satay was served with satay and another sauce. Point of attention is, (although it is not disturbing, more my eye for detail) a little more could be done about the finishing of certain things. Lights in the ceiling that hang loosely from the fixture. The toilet could use some innovation. It does not detract from the overall experience, but more stars can certainly be scored for atmosphere!

Had a delicious meal at Saputra in Zoetermeer. Friendly service and excellent quality food. Also delicious matching wines and beers with all dishes. For us, the AYAM PANGANG PADANG is the absolute number 1!

Not a dusty dated Indian restaurant but a modern Indonesian restaurant with delicious various dishes from Java Sumatra and Bali, very tastefully prepared and beautifully served. Fairly small but therefore cozy restaurant that you have to make some effort to find if you are not very familiar with Zoetermeer, but very surprising once you sit at the table. Can recommend it to anyone who likes top quality Indonesian food and I will definitely come back again.

Een gezellig ingericht restaurant in de nieuwbouw van Palenstein. De ontvangst is gastvrij door de eigenaar en je voelt je direct op je gemak. Wij kozen voor een vier gangenmenu vanaf de kaart, maar een wijziging in het menu is geen probleem. Het eten is erg lekker, maar dat waren we al gewend vanuit de aangrenzende toko "Indofood". De presentatie is een feest voor het oog en het maakte ons direct blij. Voorgerecht, tussengerecht, hoofdgerecht en nagerecht, alles is goed verzorgd en ziet er prachtig uit. De bediening is goed verzorgd en erg vriendelijk. We waren benieuwd naar het enige Indische restaurant in Zoetermeer en we zijn blij verrast. We komen hier zeker terug.

Ate here yesterday. What a bad experience. I was with 2 friends who don't eat beef and pork. We wanted the rice table but we asked if it was possible with chicken for the 2 of them. I said that beef was fine for me. No problem said the waiter. Later the containers were brought, but all with chicken, so we asked him and he replied: I thought, she will go with the rest and then I left without further apologies or questions. 🤨. So he decides for me that I only want chicken?? I said I wanted beef. The employee may take a customer service course. Food was also very little for 3 people, little taste and also very salty. Chicken was also very dry and the satay Ayam was not eating. See the photos, that was it for 3 people. It was the first time for me but definitely the last. Nicely decorated place but not recommended!!! I would like to respond to the restaurant's response: 1. It is your assumption that I also wanted chicken. You should have asked me, and 2. You paid attention carefully, we left the containers half full, but that was because the food/taste was really not good as I wrote in the review. In short, price-quality ratio not worth it.

What a dining experience with my family! Both of us had a 4-course-meal. Everything was so tasty from the first starter, second starter, main course and dessert. Very much recommended was the pancake stuffed with mince or dadar isi, the satay, roast pork belly and sweet dadar gulung.It is said that a good chef is also an accomplished artist. Chef Saputra has decorated his dishes with his artistic touch. The place was also cosy, had an Indonesian feel and the toilets super and luxurious.

Delicious Indian food and not just a standard rice table. Opted for the 4 course menu. Start with a delicious spring roll, and as an entree the chicken thigh satay, tasty and not greasy. As a main course, the spicy nasi and grilled pork belly. Both very tasty but with a small piece of pork belly. For dessert I opted for the spekkoek warna. Tasty bacon but what a pathetically thin slice. Excellent quality food but very pricey considering the portions.

A very friendly, almost homely atmosphere. You feel at ease there. This evening there are approximately 9 dining tables ranging from 2 people to 6 people, so also suitable for larger groups. We went with friends who have been here before. In one sentence: it leaves you wanting more! Delicious food, sweet and nice service, relaxed atmosphere and beautifully decorated. Heerlijk gegeten en restaurant is warm en sfeervol ingericht. Flinke rijsttafel. De spekkoek was een beetje droog en de slagroom kwam uit een spuitbus dus die zakte helemaal in. Ik zou voor een ander toetje kiezen. Voor de rest is het zeker een aanrader en makkelijk aan te rijden met gratis parkeren

Fantastisch restaurant, Heerlijk gegeten, Heel gezellig intiem restaurant,

Wat een verrassing, heerlijk gegeten met fijne service. Het was een feestje!

Wij hadden 5 gangen menu...Verrukelijk gegeten, met verrasende gerechtjes, heel mooi gepresenteerd, alles klopt met de spice and spicy echt aanrader! We gaan nog een keer heen!!

Gisteren voortreffelijk gegeten. 5 gangen menu. Musa de chefkok heeft weer zijn uiterste best gedaan om heerlijke gerechten te bereiden. Mijn vrouw komt uit Indonesië en zij vond dat het authentiek en heerlijk is gemaakt De bediening was ook goed. Dus een echte aanrader en we komen hier zeker weer snel terug.

Woorden doen geen recht aan de geweldige belevenis die je hebt als je bij Saputra gaat eten. We kozen voor een 4-gangen verrassingsmenu en wat was dat een feestje. Alles klopt: ambiance, bediening, eten!

Super gegeten en een hele goede service. Wij komen hier vaker!

Vrijdagavond verrassend lekker gegeten (en goedkoop bovendien) bij Saputra in Zoetermeer! Erg vriendelijke bediening. Heel authentiek van smaak. Vooral de sateh kambing, udang peteh en lauwwarme gado gado zijn aanraders. En het toetje... ; pandan crème brulee met mango ijs (€ 8,-) was goddelijk. Volgende keer de softshell crab proberen...

Een van de beste Indo restaurants in de regio en ik ken er heel wat. De saté is magnifiek. Alleen de tjendol kan beter en de locatie is wat bijzonder maar laat dat zeker niet de liefhebber in de weg staan.

Allereerst mijn complimenten naar de gastheer Jeffrey en de chef Musa. Warm welkom, goede service en het eten van hoog culinair niveau. De sfeer van het restaurant was warm en het voelde alsof wij thuiskomen. Zeker een aanrader als je een keer een fine dining experience wil!

Het chefs verrassings menu genomen en was blij verrast door de kwaliteit en de menu samenstelling. Het eten was van bijzondere kwaliteit en heerlijk van smaak. het personeel was bijzonder aardig en een goede kennis van zaken. Dit restaurant is zeker een aanrader.

Last Friday I had dinner with my family. All menus are really delicious. From appetizters to main course there was nothing left. Super friendly service from the owner and chef adds to the comfort of every visitor who comes.
