Restaurant Speijck in Buitengebied (Zuid)

We found the food disappointing. Later in the day, we sat on the terrace at Groot Speijck, which is close by and, in our opinion, cozier and beautifully situated in nature.

Unfortunately, shrinkflation has hit here too. Our fish sandwich had significantly less filling than it did some time ago. The staff, on the other hand, was very friendly. The location on the edge of the Oisterwijk fens is, of course, beautiful.

Decent service, good waitstaff. The food is okay when things go well, but certainly nothing special. Received a Dame Blanche with vanilla sauce and some chocolate chips. After a complaint from a customer, the chef on duty even started practically yelling at the customer. This was a one-time experience, never again. The dinner started well, but during the evening I saw a 5-star review drop to a 1-star. Chefs should stay in the kitchen, not start yelling at customers. A shame for the waitress, because there went her tip. Once and never again, and believe me, no one should go here again. A waste of money.

Surprisingly disappointing, the price vs quality of the food is definitely not up to par!

The food was very bad. With a meat lunch, you got a very cold egg and a meatless croquette. Downright ridiculous. And the coffee was undrinkable too. You got a cappuccino in a cup. The fish lunch wasn't great either, because there wasn't a single shrimp to be found in the shrimp croquette. And the latte macchiato contained nasty coffee sludge. In conclusion: You should avoid this place if you can, otherwise get well soon.

Expensive place and not necessarily good quality. After waiting an hour for drinks or to take our dessert order, we left. No one paid any attention to us.

Went for lunch. Friendly service, but we did have to wait a while before our order was taken. The club sandwich is enough for a whole family. Huge portion. The carpaccio sandwich is also very large.

Nice place in a wooded area. Visited by walkers and cyclists. Outside on the terrace, you have a good view of everything that passes by.

The soup served with the sharing board was substandard and even served with overflow onto the paper and board. The appetizers on it (carpaccio, for example, were tough) were essentially the same. Unworthy of the name sharing board. The Scampi pil pil starter was raw. The truffle fries were also undercooked and too greasy. The bill was incorrect as well (they were going to remove 2 drinks, but one extra glass of wine was wrongly charged = that’s how it should be done, so shame on them). In short, I am never going again. Luckily, I had a birthday gift card so €83 didn't feel like a burden. I left with a strange feeling. A pity.

We had a super delicious meal! The staff was very sweet and attentive :) We had the shared dining menu and it was definitely recommended! We will definitely be back here soon!

Cozy starting point for walks. Great food!

What an incredibly cozy place on the edge of the woods! The staff speaks volumes, the food tastes amazing, and the chef even comes to say a few words at the table. It feels like home. Highly recommended!!

We had a lovely and delicious high tea with 12 colleagues. Everyone started with a delicious asparagus soup with salmon. Furthermore, per person, 4 crispy fresh luxury rolls with carpaccio, Italian ham with sun-dried tomatoes and arugula, smoked salmon with cream cheese and pickled red onions, and tuna salad. For 2 colleagues who do not eat meat, this was supplemented with goat cheese and hummus. Each of us had 2 different scones, with and without raisins, with clotted cream and the homemade lemon curd. The best I have ever tasted! Furthermore, a great many mini pastries in various flavors, butter cake, macarons of all kinds, too many to mention. With unlimited tea and coffee. 10 types of fresh tea, with paper bags to fill. Glasses with fresh mint, ginger, lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, and honey. It was constantly being refilled. I even got to take home 2 large full boxes of everything that was left over. Including that delicious lemon curd. We will most definitely be back.

Waited 1.5 hours for bitterballen, and after asking 3 times, ultimately received nothing. They were on the bill though; extremely poor service.

This restaurant is such a shame; we ate there today but the service is so bad. It takes ages for someone to come and help you, and there were only 10 customers left. The food didn't arrive until 40 minutes later. It was tasteless, and when you asked for an extra sauce, the waiter forgot it. After asking, he walked to the kitchen and came back with the neighbors' food and had forgotten again. All in all, a terrible place that you should avoid quickly.

Very disappointing and upsetting experience. Even though the venue was nearly empty, we were refused service after being asked for a reservation when ordering in English. The way we were treated felt discriminatory and gave us the impression that it may have been related to our ethnicity. Such behavior is unacceptable and should be addressed by management.

Came in mid-day, first asked what we liked to drink in dutch. When I replied in English, said we needed reservations while there was plenty of empty space. Became obvious it was a race thing.

The lunch was excellent, but the service and atmosphere could be better.

Nice lunch menu. You do need to be patient on Thursdays, though. Probably understaffed. After sitting on the terrace for fifteen minutes, I just walked inside to order something. I got my ham sandwich after 50 minutes. It was really delicious, though.

Im honestly skeptic about eggs but it was done exactly as I liked! Really delicious! Soft bread soft yolks hard white and delicious spring onion and lovely little salad! Nice service “Alex’ and lovely food! Thank you!

The food was completely flavorless. The carpaccio itself was okay. But the appetizer selection was incredibly disappointing. Especially the steak tartare, which was just a pile of meat. It might have been better with an egg, but definitely not! The main courses were also bland. The sauce, both the mushroom sauce and the truffle sauce, was completely unpalatable. The meat was so thick it was dry and tough. When we mentioned this, they reacted very nonchalantly, as if they didn't really care. So we skipped dessert. And no repeat for us!

I used the hall next to the restaurant for a funeral. The atmosphere and space are perfect for a beautiful farewell. There could be some improvement regarding the heating and the sound and visuals for displaying photos and videos. Given the increasing trend of people choosing to have their farewell outside the crematorium, I would consider that a good investment.

Bought a deal from Social Deal for a cheese fondue. We were greeted kindly and escorted to our table. Drinks were taken; the menu showed a non-alcoholic Chardonnay, so we decided to try it. Unexpectedly, it was quite delicious! We were asked if we wanted fries with it. Delicious. When we paid, it turned out that the fries offered were an extra charge. We would have liked to have known that beforehand. The cheese fondue was quite good. I liked the cheese, my husband not so much; he found it a bit too grainy. It came with several tasty additions, such as carrots, sausage, meatballs, various vegetables, and two types of bread, and there was more than enough. We also had dessert, a chocolate sundae with peanut brittle. It was quite tasty, but... there wasn't a single peanut brittle ... Too bad... All in all, it was fun, but we wouldn't do it again.

Wow, wow, wow! We had a truly delicious lunch. The salmon salad was especially good, generously filled, and definitely not expensive. The staff was very friendly and chatty and brought our food quickly. It's very atmospheric and clean. Definitely recommended after a nice walk.

How awful. The so-called tomato soup was reheated ketchup; if it wasn't from a cheap can, it should have been. No Ceylon tea, only nasty chemical flavors, and the food was made about four hours ago. Tasteless and terrible, never again.

You can have a simple meal in the forest.

Friendly service, excellent cheese fondue. Unfortunately, the cauliflower florets were way overcooked, and the friandises were very disappointing.

It's a relatively quiet place. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to eat anything, even though I was very hungry after walking around. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m., and there's not a huge selection of flavors. You can relax and have a drink. The table we were sitting at was very sticky, and even wiping it down didn't help.

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. We've always been very well received and the food is always excellent. Friendly and professional staff. Fast. Efficient. I recommend it 100%.

Great atmosphere and a pleasantly busy restaurant with a fantastic location and lovely terraces for relaxing and dining. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Personally, I thought the club sandwich I ordered didn't suit the restaurant. A bit bland, actually. The taste was okay, but bland.

The building has a great atmosphere, and the decor is no exception. The service was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff clearly fell short. The burgers were blackened (well-done wasn't the intention). The spare ribs weren't warm enough, and the sirloin steak hadn't even seen a grain of salt. I know too much salt isn't good, but this was downright bland and rather tasteless. Furthermore, the amount of pepper sauce was very limited, and the few pieces of grilled vegetables were scattered rather unimaginatively around the sirloin steak. One of us had a single uncooked French fry in his container. Furthermore, the lettuce looked wilted. This could be much better. I don't expect culinary masterpieces, but I do expect meals that offer reasonable value for money.

We hadden een geitenkaas salade besteld , het viel me tegen dat er maar 3 kleine stukjes geitenkaas in zaten. Wel 2 kleine broodjes erbij maar daar weer geen boter bij. De bediening was goed maar de prijs was te hoog voor zo, n eenvoudige salade .

This restaurant has a beautiful location. We had to wait at least 30 minutes for our sandwiches, which we thought was a bit long. But the weather was beautiful, so we chatted happily through it all.

Fijne locatie, had echter 12 uurtje vis besteld, soep zat geen smaak aan en de zalm was minimaal. Erg jammer, ben beter gewend hier.

Nestled in the lush Oisterwijk countryside, just outside the town, lies Restaurant Speijck. With a spacious terrace and parking, it's a great place to relax. They offer an extensive menu and friendly service. Reservations are recommended.

Op het mooie terras gaan zitten en onze frisdrank besteld. En toen pas naar de beoordeling gaan kijken, was me dat even schrikken en getwijfeld of ik wel een hapje zou bestellen… . Uiteindelijk toch maar gedaan en gekozen voor de kalfskroketjes en de hamburger. Ik moet zeggen het was allemaal correct, de bediening was vriendelijk en het eten kwam snel, helemaal niks op aan te merken. We hebben dus geen ervaring met uitgebreide menu maar de lunch was best ok !

De Bediening was schandalig . We gingen naar binnen voor het opboord staande buiten heerlijke mosselen .bij bestelling waren ze niet aanwezig.mijn antwoordt was daarop , dan moet U het boord niet buiten zetten .we zaten aan glaasje Chardonney, Dat werd van de tafel gegrist en de ober zei .eruit van dit soort klanten ben ik niet gediend .schandalig .hij had ook kunnen zeggen daar heeft U gelijk in .ik zal hem weghalen ...en kijk even wat U anders wilt eten.hij is hier absoluut niet voor geschikt .het dienende restaurant leven. Ik vind het een gemiste kans. Bediening Mwah… Menukaart plakkerig. Zelf om kaart en vragen of we iets mogen drinken. De vis kwam uit de vriezer en smaakte nergens naar. Waterig. Echt jammer, mooie plek maar niet om te eten. Helaas.

SCANDALOUS!! I had booked a baby shower for 14 people in April for June 21. Then 2 days in advance I had contact to confirm everything. Arrangement 2, a cocktail in advance, high tea and everything decorated. Location was good, conservatory also good but no welcome cocktail, after a while we got tea, which was not refilled. Staff also did not ask anything or take a look. After an hour and a half I went to ask where the food was. We got a soup (tasted good). After another while I went to ask where the rest was, waiting again then we got a few planks with sandwiches and a plank with sweets (bacon and some chocolates). Didn't look like the picture. I asked myself if there were no small pastries, then we got dry scones again I asked for some jam. I also asked for the cocktails but they were not there. In short, worthless! We did get a bit off the price but it was a shame, it really ruined the baby shower! I think there is everything to have fun except the organization and service, which was all wrong.

A nice base for a beautiful walk along the fens. It was a warm day, so we had an aperitif on the terrace, then ate a delicious asparagus menu. The service is friendly and attentive, but there is a staff shortage: although there were plenty of chairs and tables available, people without a reservation could no longer have dinner there. There was also a private festive meeting behind the restaurant. Cutlery and glasses were often not properly clean: one thing probably has something to do with the other. We personally forgive them: we had a nice time and had a delicious meal.

Nice location, but unfortunately a bad experience. After fifteen minutes no one had come to our table, so we asked if someone could help us. At half past three we were told, not very kindly, that we could no longer order lunch or pastries, only drinks. Even though the menu indicated that lunch could be ordered until 4 o'clock. The coffee was not hot and a spoon to stir the sugar was not provided (we had asked for this).

Have eaten there a few times and would happily drive a bit for it! A beautiful location as the start or end of a walk with a map that changes with the season and has not yet disappointed us. Cocktails or a cheese fondue (which they adapted without any problems when I was pregnant!), lunch or dinner, definitely recommended.

Easter brunch 35 euros pp. The Ragout, the croquettes and the scrambled eggs were very lukewarm. The sausage rolls very hard, dry and cold. There was also sufficient bread in various varieties. We expected more from this brunch, the offering was mediocre for the price of the brunch

The ambiance has received a positive makeover. And the map has been updated and therefore improved. We sat on the terrace with a group of 4 and had a nice drink (0% Nillis 😋) with a large snack board. A little more beef or chicken instead of pork would have been tastier and healthier for me personally, but otherwise an excellent variation. We have also experienced twice that there was a sign saying the terrace was full while it was 3/4 empty? Probably a shortage of staff, but that is an assumption, but for that reason we had to walk past the terrace.

We had an old Amsterdam hamburger and a cheese fondue. The hamburger was disappointing. Where was the old Amsterdam? In addition, the hamburger seemed pre-cooked. Bun and bacon burned. The garnish on the sandwich was very disappointing. The cheese fondue was a shame: watery and crazy. Said something about this. This one went back. 2nd was thick lumpy and still curdled. We received a glass of wine for free and we didn't have to pay for the cheese fondue. But all in all a disappointing experience despite friendly service.

I ordered the duck ( edit : venison) and it was not warm . Not wanting to deal with the hassle of sending it back , I just ate it. The restaurant deserved a chance to make it right , but serving food that is not warm is a basic error . Short of re preparing the dish and then having to wait , the meal experience was ruined anyway . If it was warm , I would rate it as mediocre as half of my venison portion was borderline raw and the other piece was stewed ( think pulled pork ) . The price was 26 euros as well which puts it in an upper price tier in the area. I struck it up to bad luck, but I hope the restaurant uses this for feedback for future patrons. The atmosphere and service were good Edit : My mistake - the main course was the hert ( venison), not duck. However , my review still stands . I am also definitely a real customer . Our visit was on Feb 14 , 2025. We were a party of 4 who were later joined by more people . Also , as I mentioned in my review , the restaurant should have had a chance to make it right . But frankly , not serving food warm at a professional establishment is a very basic error. And once again- as a paying customer who was trying to have a relaxing meal I just did not feel like making a complaint , having the food removed , wondering what the solution would be ( if the food was served lukewarm in the first place , my expectations were quite low for a reasonable solution ) . But correct , everyone deserves a second chance . My goal is not be vindictive, but to give an honest review with the hope the other clients will hopefully receive a professional product . Also , three of us ordered the “hert” and it was all served lukewarm. But considering the response and false accusation that I was not a real customer supports my critical review . I’m glad I did not complain . Sorry , our food experience was bad . .

Food is good. Detail on garnish is missing. Side dishes must be ordered extra, which makes dishes expensive. Service at the beginning of the evening is good and sufficiently fast, but then sends staff home too quickly and then misses the overview of district distribution during the evening, which unfortunately means that the service takes a little longer. The result is empty glasses and no more service at certain tables. Point of attention on service.

De twee voorgerechten vielen tegen: de tartaar was verdronken in een witte saus geen kleur of garnituur en geen (stok)brood erbij en de uiensoep was water met ui, smakeloos. Hoofgerecht duo van hert was smakelijk, garnituur bestond uit één worteltje en één spruitje de rest moest je erbij denken en de aardappels moest je erbij kopen en als laatste het het dessert: een Dame blanche waar je toch weinig aan zou kunnen verpesten, was een superharde chocolade bal waar je lauwe chocoladesaus bij kreeg die de bal moest kraken maar helaas het was bikken….. Kortom weggegooid geld, dure ergernis!

Went to the large room. Food was on the chair, so they switched it. Onion soup as a starter, super salty, plenty of onion skin put in. I only ate half. Main was spare ribs which arrived at the table black. We thought they had been burnt so sent them back. After a while we were informed that in fact this was the intention of the chef, so reluctantly had them back. I gave half of min to someone else. Did not bother with desert and would never go back. On the positive side, it's a nice location, on the negative, an utterly bad experience. I'm not the only one in our party with this thought.

If I could give minus stars I would! Upon arrival, the table was not really inviting: empty candlesticks, cold room, dirty chairs. Spare Ribs were burnt, the answer was that this was because of the ketchup marinade, a very cowardly response to charred ribs. my fish was tasteless no salt and full of bones, the onion soup looked like waste in a salt shaker, service is friendly but incredibly inefficient. Not really recommended for larger groups. And actually not for dinner at all. It took a very long time before everything was on the table. I felt worse for my parents who finally had the whole family together again and had to pay a fair amount for just bad food. When we went, we were not even asked if everything had been to our liking. Bad management, very bad kitchen.

Ate here for twelve hours. I thought it was reasonable. The tomato soup was decent and the croquette excellent. The fried egg and the capaccio were combined on 1 slice of bread. Mwoaaahh. That's not necessary for me. But hey, that's personal. I've had better lunches.

Finally...a restaurant where you can eat cheese fondue😁 Great service and cozy atmosphere. We will definitely come back here again. Desserts were priced very high.

It took a long time for the food to arrive (they knew we were coming for cheese fondue). Forgot fries. Asked for. Haven't had it yet. On the receipt. Indicated in advance that we were a vegetarian, but this was not taken into account. First received the receipt from another table. Servers didn't come and ask if we wanted something to drink. Walked around without looking at the customers.

Nice place, but unfortunately the food was disappointing…! We thought we would come and have a nice cheese fondue :( For a cheese fondue of €28 per person, my partner and I did not expect it to be so disappointing. The cheese fondue was mealy and tasted as if it came from a package. The vegetables served with it were not fresh and brown because it had probably been in the kitchen for a while. The 'bread with dips' for €8.50 were also so poor that we laughed. It's a shame that the food was disappointing in such a beautiful place.

Very bad. did not know how to redeem a voucher of their own. We could also order pad if they knew. No results after half an hour. We left. VERY BAD COMPANY people don't go there anymore.
