What a lovely place ’t Huus van Guus is! The terrace offers a beautiful view of the harbor, which immediately creates a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious. The mussels prepared according to the house recipe are an absolute must-try: super creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The dessert also deserves a special mention. The strawberry and mascarpone lasagna is surprisingly tasty and a great way to end the meal. My tip: be sure to save some room for dessert, because you don't want to miss it. We will definitely be back here again! 🍓🦪⛵️

Ever since 't Huus van Guus opened, I have frequently stopped by for the daily special, and every now and then I also have lunch or eat à la carte... It is truly always good and cozy... the staff is extremely friendly and considerate if they think a portion might be too large due to a gastric bypass... the dog is never forgotten either... truly top-notch! It is more than worth the effort to make a detour to this restaurant and let yourself be spoiled by the menu or the specials on the chalkboards....... do it!

The dogs were welcome, and that was the main reason for us to choose ’t Huus van Guus. We were received in a particularly friendly manner, and during the service, nothing but praise for the ladies; a gluten-free roll was neatly arranged for me with the bread board. We all chose a different starter: carpaccio, pork belly, burrata, and mustard soup. The differences in quantity were striking. The pork belly was a rather small plate, while the mustard soup was served in an enormous bowl, with salmon and cubes of cheese. Unfortunately, that cheese was not a pleasant addition for me; due to the soup, they had turned into nasty, slippery cubes. For the main course, we took two portions of prawns from the chalkboard, along with the chicken roulade and, for me, the ribeye. The prawns were generous and tasty, although they did have to be peeled ourselves. The chicken roulade and ribeye came without their own garnish. In front of the table, we were served a small bowl of mixed salad and a bowl of fries, which unfortunately tasted as if they had been fried in oil that was too old or not very fresh. On the ribeye lay a few sprigs of sprouts and a huge slice of ready-made herb butter, which was even thicker than the approximately two-centimeter-thick steak. The doneness was good, but the meat was truly full of sinew and tough pieces. With almost every bite, I hoped to finally come across a normal piece of tender meat. Fortunately, the dogs were not picky. For €28, I found this to be a huge disappointment. In hindsight, I regret not sending the ribeye back, because the quality of this piece of meat was simply not up to par and, in my opinion, should have been noticeable during portioning and certainly during cooking. Thanks to the friendly welcome, the dog-friendly atmosphere, and the good prawns, there were definitely positive points, but it was too much money; due to the quality of the pork belly, the soup, the ribeye, and the fries, we ultimately left without dessert. (€200 for four people incl. two drinks p.p. and water)

The first time, I was served nicely by two ladies. The last time, you politely ask if you can choose a table. Then this man comes to your table... no "Good afternoon, what would you like to drink?" He says... well, you know how it works. So unfriendly.

We had dinner here in the evening to conclude our stay. I opted for the four-course set menu with its unknown contents and wasn't disappointed! My son had a mushroom cream schnitzel and was also delighted. The menu was delicious and the portions were generous – I'd gladly order again, even though it was a bit pricey (partly due to the drinks).

Ordered a bacon/cheese fried egg, ordering took a long time, received a sort of omelet on two chunks of bread, impossible to cut due to the heavy crust. Removed the bread crusts with my hands, bacon lay loosely on top, everything was tough [maybe it had been sitting in the kitchen too long]. The fried egg was supposed to consist of 3 eggs, well, there was no sign of that at all, I suspect it was egg powder. Never again

Well, it just really wasn't any good. The spareribs were totally tasteless; it felt just like I was eating boiled meat. The "salad" didn't resemble a salad at all. Large chunks of raw cabbage and cooled fried tomatoes on some lettuce. No dressing, absolutely inedible. The fries were pathetic and tasteless. The satay tasted okay, but there was only one skewer, whereas the amount of spareribs was enough for almost two people... The only tasty thing was the fried potatoes, which, however, were far too few for two people. No next time for us here. I am writing this review really because I hope they do something about it; this could easily be so much better, folks!

We ordered a small buffet for a bike tour at €8 per person and each received only four items – a real rip-off! I would suggest speaking to the staff and management about changing this policy to get better reviews.

0 8 15 buffet is a scam. Way too expensive and without resupply is not a buffet in my world. The first and last time.

We had a delicious charcuterie board for two. It varies a bit each time. In addition, a delicious cold iced coffee and sparkling water. My girlfriend had a homemade lemonade.

What a worthless place. Satay with an enormous amount of grease and salty peanut sauce. Potatoes for 3 people were served, but there were exactly 5. Fries for a teenager were way too few, so once is enough, never again.

We ate here on a weekday evening. Easy to reach, easy parking. It wasn't busy at all, even though the weather was beautiful. Perhaps because the food could be better. The carpaccio was tasty, but the main courses were mediocre. I considered sending the entrecôte back because of a somewhat strange taste, but with as much sauce on it as possible, it was bearable. The waitresses were very quick and cheerful.

We ate something here on the way home. We hadn't reserved in advance, but luckily they still had a nice spot on the terrace with a view of the water. For starters, we had the mustard soup with salmon and aged cheese; it sounded like a crazy combination to me, but I do like trying something new and it tasted great. Due to the aged cheese, it might be a bit on the salty side, but it was warm weather and it tasted good again. The salmon with shrimp sauce was certainly fine too. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and it was tasty 😋. The raspberry elderflower lemonade is highly recommended. I found it very delicious. We received a free cup of coffee because they forgot to prepare our order due to the arrival of a large group. It can happen, it was also very hot weather, but it was handled well. Friendly welcome and service.

The appetizers were very tasty, and the main courses were also very delicious. However, what bothered us immensely was that we received only one small bowl of salad and one equally small bowl of fried potatoes for four people. As an extra, a slightly larger bowl (enough for about two people) of fries arrived. When I asked if, since it said so on the menu, we shouldn't each receive a salad and fried potatoes, she explained that we would get more when it was gone. We insisted that each of us get our own salad. She reluctantly did so. When the fried potatoes and fries were gone, we asked (as she had initially indicated) for more. This delivery took so long that the meals had gotten cold by then. The worst part came at the end: the fries and fried potatoes were charged an extra €15! Despite the pleasant atmosphere, we will avoid this restaurant.

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in April 2026. The weather was beautiful, but a bit too windy to sit outside. So we sat in the conservatory. Quick service. Menu in hand and extra dishes on a chalkboard. Very nice. We chose a carpaccio sandwich, a hot meat sandwich, and a smoked salmon flatbread. Everything looked nice and tasted good. The bread for the carpaccio and the hot meat was one small roll, whereas there could easily have been two.

Went here for dinner yesterday with a group of friends after boating. We were severed fairly fast, and the food and drinks were good. However, a low rating, as I experienced the rudest server since moving to the Netherlands (many years ago). I asked where the toilet was to one of the younger servers working there with dark long hair. The response I got, was an absolute annoyed face, saying “over there “ in a very rude tone. I didn’t find the toilet and sort of laughed it off when I saw her, trying not to make a big deal. Again even more annoyed she looks at me, and says “I told you it was there!”. What world is this girl living in where she thinks it’s acceptable to respond to a customer that way. I’ve been a served myself and this is just absolutely unacceptable, and is good reason to be fired. I told her she should not be in service with that awful attitude. I could have complained to management but I didn’t want that to ruin my vibe further. Instead, I’ll leave that feedback here. Make sure to train your young servers, no matter how bad their day is going, to not mistreat your customers. Perhaps it was racism, because we all spoke English? Who knows, but unacceptable regardless.

A solid 5 stars for Huus van Guus. Besides the fact that the coffee and apple pie were delicious, they were also incredibly helpful when my road bike was stolen. While I was sitting inside having coffee and cake, someone stole my bike. This was clearly visible on camera footage. Of course, it was my own fault because I hadn't locked the road bike. But even so, people should keep their hands off your belongings. The staff at Huus van Guus then went looking for my bike together with people from Holland Marine Service (HMS) and found it in a remote corner of the harbor grounds. All praise to these people who were incredibly helpful and genuinely compassionate.

I dined here for the first time tonight. There is something delicious on the menu for everyone. The 3, 4, or 5-course surprise menu is a nice addition. The staff is friendly; once you ordered drinks, they were brought to your table very quickly. I highly recommend eating here.

I ordered the salmon. Unfortunately, it had a watery, oily taste, so I stopped after 2 bites. The overcooked sliced ​​chicory was swimming in the white sauce. That wasn't entirely to my taste either. The fries were very salty.

We ordered a schnitzel that shouldn't bear the name. We were served a thick, dry piece of meat that should have been thin and juicy. The potatoes were sour and flavorless. The onions with bacon were delicious, as were the pears.

A friendly welcome. The food was perfect, but one (1) item didn't quite match the description on the chalkboard. I ordered a mackerel sandwich and was served a sandwich with a mackerel salad. It was still tasty, so I left it as is. Both the service and the attentiveness of the staff were excellent.

A cozy place. The food was good, though the portions were small. Fortunately, the vegetables and potatoes were replenished quickly. An overactive waiter forgot to place our order. But he did his best to create a pleasant atmosphere by engaging in pleasant conversation with everyone. Fortunately, everyone at our table was friendly, and the food arrived quickly after we asked.

We found the combination of satay with red cabbage and mashed potatoes quite odd. They indicated that in the summer the dish is served with salad and fries. We also recommend serving this in the winter.

What a wonderful place for lunch! There's a lovely, spacious parking lot with free parking. Before we could even open the door, a friendly man opened it. We were able to find a table in the conservatory right next to the harbor. What a stunning view! We ordered an "uitsmijter" (fried fried eggs) and a main course salad. Despite the prices, which I considered to be rather reasonable, we were treated to a truly delicious meal. We were also offered a free portion of fries to share, and a bottle of water was brought to the table without even asking. And all this with a smile from the lady who was serving us. I thought I'd take a few nice pictures. Thank you!

We had a fantastic party at 't Huus van Guus last Saturday night. The atmosphere was great, the service was friendly and welcoming, and the snacks were excellent throughout the evening. Drinks were kept regularly refilled. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely be back for a delicious meal.

We had dinner with local friends. I found the place a little dark for my taste. The staff was friendly, but the wait for the dishes was long, perhaps due to overcrowding. Compared to our Italian restaurant, the food was below expectations, even though the menu offered a wide variety of fish and meat dishes. Parking was very convenient. Personally, I wouldn't return.

We organized a surprise party (with about 70 guests) for our mother's 60th birthday at 't Huus van Guus. It went really well. The staff was very flexible, and Cynthia arranged everything perfectly: the venue, drinks, and food. Thanks!

Enjoy a nice lunch in a nice place

We had coffee and a light snack this afternoon. My wife ordered carrot cake with her coffee, and I had fried mushrooms on a toasted sandwich. At my request, it wasn't decorated. The carrot cake is simply a slice of red-colored cake. It was presented on a nice plate with a scoop of ice cream, a large blackberry, and whipped cream from a can. The price was around €8.50. If it had been cake and dessert, that price would have been fine. But we ordered a pastry, not dessert. My mushrooms were chestnut mushrooms. Unfortunately, I didn't taste much of them, as the pepper mill had been used quite liberally during the preparation. It was a reasonable €13.50. Quite pricey for a single toasted brown bread sandwich with mushrooms, which aren't the same as mushrooms. It's a good thing we checked the quality before making a dinner reservation. We'll continue looking for a restaurant that truly prepares the dishes as advertised on the menu, and the chef tastes them before serving them.

We organized a surprise party at Huus van Guus. The communication was excellent, and Cynthia was incredibly helpful. The chefs prepared delicious and plentiful snacks, and various dietary requirements were easily accommodated. All in all, we had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you!

Unfortunately, Guus wasn't home, because the cows were about to burst, the pigs needed to eat, and the cattle had to be removed from the land. All in all, a disappointing experience for our Guus.
