We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary here. From booking in to checking out, all went smooth and staff couldn’t be more helpful. Special thanks to Mara, Thomas and the chef! The welcome note and the impromptu late night snack much appreciated. The reception was well catered, the dinner superb, every guest was delighted with their room and the breakfast was a casual closing to our celebration. We'd heard a lot about this charming restaurant, but now we finally got to experience it for ourselves. We opted for the 5-course surprise menu, and it was a true culinary feast! The flavor combinations and details were clearly well thought out. The staff also radiated a sense of fun and were clearly very knowledgeable about everything they served. Thank you!

Beautiful restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, lounge music, and even a separate room that can be soundproofed. Not an extensive menu, but delicious combinations and flavors.

You're greeted with the biggest smile! Beautiful outdoor space—a very atmospheric restaurant! Great cocktails—sublimely delicious—and everything topped off with a convivial atmosphere! Ono and his team fulfill your culinary desires with absolute ease! We received such a warm welcome that we'd happily drive two hours to visit The George! Top team!! We know where to go if we ever need to meet up! Thanks for the wonderful evening!

It tasted pretty bad, and I think the plates weren't washed properly either. There are better options in Oisterwijk, but I wouldn't recommend it!

We were here for a wine tasting from the Chilean winery Apalta. What a unique establishment, and a beautiful setting. The service was young, welcoming, and warm, with a wealth of knowledge and dedication. The wine man was even better, a lovely guy. The tip: the break-of-the-week menu, a great selection at a very reasonable price.

We had a wonderful meal. Beautifully presented dishes. The atmosphere is excellent. The restaurant exudes class. It's lovely to sit outside on the (partially covered) terrace. We will definitely be back.

Our Valentine's Day menu was fantastic. Enjoyed it from start to finish. What beautiful dishes and a wonderful palette of colors and flavors. I can't eat quickly, and our waitress, Roos, was incredibly considerate of this; her kindness alone was a 10+. There was also a lovely handwritten Valentine's Day card on the table. Thank you so much, it was wonderful.

Really nice place with some delicious food! We got their 5 course menu, which was really amazing, especially for the price of 65€. The quality was really nice and they get a lot of their herbs from their own green house. The servers are really nice and the place looks really great. Definitely a place we would visit again!

Since this spring '25 I heard positive opinions of The George. Of course I'll try it and feel like a regular guest. Super friendly and professional service and of course I had a delicious dinner and lunch.

Everything is great here, location, food and especially the pleasant service.

The food was absolutely top. The oysters were great and actually everything. We had the ‘break the week’ menu and this was great. This also included 2 drinks and it is a bit of a shame that they charge 2 ice teas for this and charge for wines separately. Not that it matters much to us but I wouldn’t do that. Worth repeating.

Op valentijnsdag stapten we later op de avond binnen voor een dessert en drankje. Heerlijke sfeer, fijne muziek, vriendelijk personeel. We zaten in een rond zitje, lekker privé met z'n tweeën. Fijne plek en ook niet onbelangrijk: lekker dessert!

gastvrij, vriendelijk enstemmingeaankleding ivmvaletijn 4 gangen verrassingsdiner. De gangen werden met goede uitleg uitgeserveerd. Het eten was een smaaksensatie en mooi gedecoreerd op het bord.

A great restaurant tucked in the ground floor of a trendy hotel. The design and layout of the restaurant and bar is excellent. It's a beautiful restaurant with a relaxed and chill vibe. Staff was knowledgeable of the menu. It served a fixed, surprise menu so you must have an adventurous food spirit. Plating was excellent and portion sizes were perfect. I recommend this restaurant

Went for lunch today with 8 people but it didn't go well. When ordering there were no oysters (of course no problem, but let us know in advance), just before we were served there turned out to be no guacamole so a number of people had to choose something else when the rest already had their food. Then someone got an avocado toast without avocado.. And the croquettes had 'exploded' so 2 other people had to wait for the new croquettes. We ordered a bottle of wine but it was gone. So then another one. The place is beautiful and the food we finally got was fine. Too bad we had so much bad luck and that the service was a bit indifferent and no drink or anything was offered.

The five of us had our Christmas dinner here on December 25, 2024. The hotel and restaurant are beautifully and artistically decorated. A warm welcome, a nice spacious table, even a personal Christmas card was on the table, something we have never seen anywhere else. The service and food were, in a word, excellent. Every wish was fulfilled. We will definitely come back, highly recommended. Top!!

Wat een geweldige kerstlunch hebben we genoten. Echte kerstsfeer met mooie aankleding. Heel feestelijk. Een heel mooi menu, mooie wijnen en een super bediening door o.a. Thomas. Zo de moeite waard!!! Heel erg bedankt voor deze bijzondere ervaring.

Samengevat: de prijs-kwaliteit was zeker niet OK. Zeer kleine porties tegen de hoofdprijs. Watertje tegen goudprijs. Kortom een teleurstelling. Gaan we niet meer naar toe.

Always a pleasure to take a seat in the restaurant for a delicious, extensive dinner. Many different tasty dishes on the menu with local products. The service is always ready to help you and also serves the most delicious wines that match your chosen dish(s). The open kitchen is also very nice, which adds extra atmosphere to the restaurant! Definitely recommended to eat here!!

Had dinner at The George last night and what a pleasant surprise! The staff was incredibly hospitable and attentive, the food delicious and the wines carefully selected. A wonderful culinary experience - we will definitely return!

Simply recommended, 1st class. Location, decor, atmosphere and menu are in balance. Was our first visit to the restaurant by invitation. And is a reason for us to come back again. Furthermore, staff who approach customers in a pleasant, professional manner.

What a gem of a restaurant. Opted for the 5-course chef menu; beautiful and tasty dishes. Three times fish, one time poultry and sweet/fresh dessert. Good house wine options. Service also sweet and attentive. Everything was fine, very nice business from Boxtel by bike. If you do not take a chef menu, it is shared dining, which we absolutely hate, so that is why we opted for the menu. I didn't regret it at all, but it is something to take into account. Will definitely come back.

Today I was taken for one dinner at The George. I had a delicious meal here a long time ago, and I'm curious about what it's like now. The botanical garden, very special. It is really beautiful, a lovely outdoor restaurant full of color and atmosphere. The service was super friendly and respectful, we got the most beautiful spot 😉 We chose the chef's menu for €50, no regrets! The chardonnay was tasty and the first dish (mackerel) came through quickly. The clerk Thomas helped us with flair. The main course was simple but very tasty. After a short break and some extra wine we enjoyed the colorful dessert. The restaurant is very nice and very well cared for. The service sees everything and is very friendly. Recommended! Sufficient and spacious parking spaces.

We hadden op een woensdagavond voor een Break a week 3 gangen menu gekozen. Een prima prijs voor als je heerlijk wilt eten met een lekker glas wijn erbij. Zowel eten als de wijn waren fantastisch. Een van de betere restaurants in Oisterwijk!

A great restaurant in a neat hotel. We spent an overnight stay at hotel de Leijhof, which is highly recommended! The dinner we had was delicious and plenty of choice! We were a bit late, but we were still served very well and were able to eat at our leisure!

Heerlijk gegeten bij De George. Mooie borden en gerechten hoog op smaak. De palingsaus was voor mij de topper van de avond. Heerlijke volle smaak; top saus!! Bezoek aan De George zeker aan te bevelen.

Great little quiet real Dutch town. Striking peace, tranquility and harmony prevail. We went by car, and all attractions can be reached quickly from here. Wherever we went, on foot or by car, they looked at us not very conspicuously, they didn't see tourists coming from Hungary very often, but regardless, they were very kind and courteous to us. Everywhere they asked where we came from. The hotel room was very tidy and clean, they came to clean it every day. Only the breakfast could have been more varied, because it was the same every day, but the selection was plentiful. This cannot be blamed on the hotel, because based on experience, people mostly go there for a few days, mainly Dutch people, and we were able to spend a wonderful week there.

We have been coming to hotel de Leijhof for several years, where restaurant The George is located. During those years, the concept has been in almost constant motion. It started years ago with the option to choose a menu and even order a la carte, but now the concept is mainly focused on shared dining. Only if you book a dinner special as a package with a hotel stay can you receive a surprise menu of 4 courses. This is what we had 2 days in a row. On both days we had a completely different menu. The dishes were delicious and the portions were large enough so that after 4 courses we had more than enough to eat. The service was very nice and we had the option to order a matching wine arrangement. We had a very nice evening both evenings in Restaurant The George. It is definitely worth having a bite to eat there. If you are not from the area, book a beautiful room or suite in the beautiful Hotel de Leijhof. The combination of the beautiful hotel, the enormous hospitality and the delicious food means that you can really enjoy an evening away.

We had a delicious meal there. Service was top notch. The only downside: there was a wedding so we had to wait quite a long time for our food. All understanding of course, but less pleasant for us.

The experience in the restaurant and service is excellent. Kitchen is nothing. Everything, we tried 12 different menu options, seems ready-made, just warm it up from the freezer and give it some color. Tasteless and a shame for such a concept. As a chef there, I would be deeply ashamed. A shame for the rest and for the colleagues, no chance.

Beautiful old hotel renovated in style, a nice combination of old and modern. Very nice and attentive staff. Rooms clean, functional and modernly furnished. Enough parking spaces and the hotel is close to the station. Many fun excursions are possible from here. For example, to Robèrt, shopping in the beautiful center (within walking distance), cycling to the fens or by train to Eindhoven. In short; plenty to do, one night here is far too little. Dining here is a real treat, beautiful menu with special dishes and gluten-free is no problem. Even as a non-hotel guest you can dine here. Breakfast buffet excellent and extensive. I am already looking forward to the next visit. 2-05-23: delicious dinner, unfortunately only 16 rooms and suites left. Breakfast buffet has made way for table service.

Me and my girlfriend had a loveley dinner and asked to be surprised. We had lot's of fun sharing our dishes. The atmosphere is very good. Decoration and lighting is just amazing. And the quality-price ratio is also very good. Will be back for sure to try the other dishes.

Great place to sit. And service was also great. I found the main course 'Dal' very disappointing. I expected there to be a piece of meat or fish, but it was really just legumes and a few pieces of asparagus. I would advise to clearly state that it is a vegetarian dish. I really missed a main course. The cocktails, on the other hand, made up for a lot. Too bad, could have been 5 stars!

Starter and main course were very tasty, dessert was a bit special (cheese crème brulee). However, the service received two stars, because it was rather curt and not cheerful/hospitable. There was no laughing matter. Otherwise they would have gotten four stars.

Restaurant The George is part of Hotel de Leijhof in Oisterwijk. The restaurant is surprising and different from the average restaurant you can find in a hotel. The decor is chic and modern-industrial, the ambiance is good and you have enough privacy for a good conversation. The menu is a culinary surprise and most of the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and do their best to make it a fun evening. The only point for improvement is the smart welcome and attitude of the restaurant manager, for the rest: Nothing more than praise for this excellent restaurant!

Delicious food and a hip, modern interior. Something needs to be done about the acoustics, because it is noisy and it takes a lot of effort to understand each other.

Very good, the hotel has some flaws starting with the mattress and the absence of a mini-bar. Wonderful breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. If you look for the kettle in the room, you will find it in the wardrobe, well hidden.
