I didn't like virtually everything on the Christmas menu; it's rare that I didn't enjoy anything at a restaurant except the espresso. It was salty, and the whole table found the Christmas menu's selection mediocre. It wasn't very typical, as there were only venison steak, cod, and something with mushrooms. The starter wasn't much to choose from either. Perhaps a tip would be to include something that most people like, like pasta or something similar, on the Christmas menu. It was pleasant, the service was good, and we were happy with that, but the food just wasn't good, and neither was the dessert. It's a shame.

Had a delicious lunch today. Every course on the menu was delicious. The Boeuf Bourguignon was also delicious. The service was quick and friendly, and it's nice that you can sit near the kitchen and watch your dish being prepared.

Had lunch here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. The staff paid more attention to each other than to the guests. Empty plates weren't cleared even though they passed by repeatedly. The duck leg was cooked well, but very bland, as was the rest of the food. The gravy was also bland, and I think it was also on the bill.

Went to Restaurant Vuur with our walking group for a break and drinks. We were a large group without a reservation. We received a very warm welcome. Drinks were quickly arranged. From cappuccino to fresh ginger tea, there was a wide variety. We were all very impressed with the hospitality and the setting. It gave us a very warm and welcoming feeling. We would love to come back.

Delicious food, attention to allergies, including lactose allergy.

The menu was delicious! The staff complemented each other well. The cognac selection was limited, but generously poured and warmed. Definitely worth coming back!

Situated in a beautiful setting. Homely decor. The food, every course, was delicious, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. Definitely recommended 😋😋

I ate at Restaurant Vuur during Restaurant Week and, to be honest, wasn't blown away by the experience. Everything was fine, but nothing really stood out. For the starters: the roast veal was simple, with only a little balsamic dressing, the mackerel rillettes were "just" good, and the radish scallop lacked flavor. For the main course, they served very good vegetables and a tasty salad/fries, but the bourguignon was a huge disappointment, along with the potato mousse. Neither was bad, but lacked flavor. Unfortunately, I skipped dessert, which doesn't happen often. The Baileys cheesecake had nothing of Baileys and tasted like nothing. The service was very friendly and helpful, but not up to the standard the restaurant aims to project. When questions were asked, the answer often had to be something that needed to be clarified, but this was promptly answered with great passion and enthusiasm. Therefore, I certainly wouldn't give the service a negative rating, but I expected something different from this restaurant. All in all, the food wasn't "bad," but it wasn't an experience I would recommend or return for. Unfortunately :( The potential is definitely there with the location, interior, enthusiastic staff, and beautiful dishes. A little more complexity and depth to the flavors—and training for the guys and gals, and you're there!

In October 2025, we visited Vuur and were once again surprised. The place was packed, and the food was delicious! Carefully prepared, beautifully served by friendly staff who even look you in the eye when you speak. Keep it up, everyone! And another tip: book a table. You can't visit without a reservation.

I had a delicious meal at Restaurant Vuur. It's beautifully situated on the edge of Lage Vuursche. The picanha appetizer and the quail main course were delicious. I also enjoyed a lovely Chardonnay, which was a bit pricey, but that didn't matter at that moment, hahaha.

We enjoyed a lovely Brouwker Tripel on the sunny terrace. The service was fast and the staff very friendly! The atmosphere was great.

Had lunch with my wife this week. The food was good; she had the ocean salad, I had the 12 Vuurtje. The service was a bit lacking; I felt like we weren't meeting the standards and came across as a bit haughty. The area is beautiful, near the castle, where you can also take a short walk.

Normally, since I’ve visited several times I would definitely rate them higher. Unfortunately we didn’t really experience the service we’re use to from Vuur. Oysters were warm due to the stones that were warm. With 30+ degrees this can even become dangerous for the health. When the payment was requested the waitress asked if we were happy, answer was not really. There wasn’t even a question about this. I’m sorry to say so but today disappointed us.

Tip: Order the chicken bites as a snack. P.S. If you want to order a glass of wine, ask for the wine list. The service at the bar does not automatically give you the cheapest wine when you simply ask for a (house) wine. In my opinion, that is how it should be. Just indicate which wine you are going to order, so that your guest will not be surprised when paying.

Nice Chateaubriand. Good meat and well prepared. Although quality is more important than quantity, the portion for 2 persons (€80) was not very much. Also the starter, vitello tonnato, was very nice, but small. The portion sizes are more focused on at least five courses instead of three.

Unfortunately not repeatable. We had made a reservation for 17:15, because we had to leave at 18:45 at the latest. We were a bit early and could sit down right away. The drinks were taken immediately. We ordered, among other things, an orange juice. A little later the waitress came to tell us that it was finished. Okay, it can happen. Then the waitress comes to take our order super late. Emphasized that we had to leave on time. That was no problem at all. The chef was on break, but would be back soon. Now I understand that the staff is entitled to a break, but maybe you shouldn't accept reservations if you don't have enough staff available and there was no one in the kitchen. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes for a sandwich in advance and the main course only arrived, after insisting, at 18:25. In the meantime our drinks had long since finished, but contact with one of the servers was not possible. Eventually we ordered something to drink with our meal and twice we were given something we hadn't ordered. Strangely enough, there were only two tables occupied when we arrived, of which 1 had already finished eating. You would think that the food could be on the table right away. People who came in later and ordered the standard menu were served immediately (apparently this is already prepared in advance). No time for dessert or coffee. The food itself was fine, but minimal portions and the quality/price ratio leaves much to be desired. We paid €91 for 2 drinks and a main course and our hunger was not satisfied. We still had to eat at home. So once but not again. Too bad, because the restaurant seems to have potential.

Found the menu a bit small and the building a bit dated, especially the toilets were small and 1 tap did not work and the other kept running for a long time.

After a wonderful day at the sauna, I had fortunately made a reservation at restaurant Vuur — always a great ending! This time we decided to eat vegetarian. The atmosphere was, as always, cozy and relaxed, with friendly staff who immediately made you feel welcome. We were perhaps a bit boring… we both chose exactly the same thing: the asparagus soup as a starter (soft, creamy and so tasty) and a surprisingly tasty cauliflower dish with a crispy, fresh salad as a main course. Everything perfectly seasoned. We went home completely satisfied. We come here regularly and it never disappoints!

Lovely Restaurant, An open kitchen promises something and this was certainly to taste. Super atmospheric style with a beautiful terrace, more than enough parking space and lovely chairs which made dining even more enjoyable. The service was smooth and well-groomed. Delicious food. Thanks Vuur

The most special and magical place.

Tasty food. Small menu, but very good. Tasty wines. Dessert (pina coladas) was also delicious. Completely open kitchen. As a result, I also saw that on a weekday evening they spend almost 2 hours cleaning everything (the three of them). Highly recommended.

My name is Peter Rook and for a long time I have said when I introduce myself: Peter Rook, and where there is Smoke there is Fire. 😉 When you talk about Vuur I say: Go to Restaurant Vuur, a beautiful company with a relaxed atmosphere. At Vuur the people still have the "gift of making the guests feel like VIPs". In addition to delicious food, you can also enjoy delicious beer there. And if you do, come, just like me, by bike.

I actually expected better from Vuur restaurant. The menu was OK, but I had to use the pepper regularly in the evening and I never actually do that. (Mackerel tartare & sea bream fillet) I also found the service difficult on this evening. Two examples: There was just not enough space on the table, so fries at the table next to it instead of moving something. I heard this afterwards. The result for me was no fries with the sea bream fillet, only salad, I didn't realize this. When leaving, I heard from another guest in our party that he had ordered fries while the main courses were being served, but they did not arrive until after the meal. (15 mins)

It was a delicious lunch and super fun

Nice location, cozy decor and friendly staff. Quite expensive (some examples: five small slices of bread 5 euros, table water 6.50 euros, Philly sandwich {five small slices of roast beef on one sandwich} 19.50 euros and a piece of cheesecake 10 euros). Clean toilets, plenty of parking)

Ate here on Valentine's Day. Clearly indicated in advance that it was a fixed 3 or 4 course menu and not a la carte. Asked for the options no fish or meat and this went great. Delicious food and drinks and received an amuse and bubbles on arrival at the house. Will definitely come back again

Nice and nice atmosphere, helpful staff. Pita hummus is recommended if you are not that hungry. I just thought it was a bit lacking in pita compared to the hummus.

After not being at Vuur for a long time, I tried again tonight. Sorry about that. Quality was disappointing. The Bavette was not as tender as hoped and we all had problems cutting our meat. The taste was still reasonable. Furthermore, very sparse with only a little pumpkin puree. A hefty bill afterwards. Let's go somewhere next time.

A beautiful restaurant in a beautiful wooded area. The staff is also very friendly and provides excellent service. During the weekend the fireplace is lit and that creates a wonderfully warm, cozy atmosphere

We had a nice meal. Service was friendly. Nice wine choices. The dishes are beautifully prepared and tasty.

Table at 6.15pm. There were already two large groups, they were given priority so it took a long time before you were helped at all. A drink for over twenty minutes, while there were plenty of staff walking around. Things didn't go the way they were supposed to. We got the starter which was certainly ok. But after an hour there was still no main course. While the waiter had walked to the kitchen twice to ask where the main course was. After an hour and a half and still no starter, I paid. The biggest shame is also that no compensation was given in addition to the apology. Too sad!

What a wonderful location for lunch and dinner!

This afternoon we had lunch here as a break from our cycling tour. The service was nice, but it took a very long time before we ordered a drink and something was on the table. Then, after waiting a while, we ordered our dishes (2 x omelette with bread) and half an hour later (the terrace was not even half full and most people were eating) we asked if it would take long. This question was also asked at other tables near us. Too bad, the omelette tasted great and the dishes served by other guests also looked good. This restaurant is not suitable for having something to eat and then continuing your bike ride.

Very successful company outing. The only downside was that we had to ask for drinks quite often. Delicious 4 course menu behind us.

Wonderful on a summer evening on the terrace. Friendly and tasty food

Delicious food! Normally I scour the Michelin guide if we feel like something special. Now I didn't come across much in the area and I relied on my own intuition. Started with oysters and bubbles which were squeaky fresh and delicious, then a Vitello tonato with their own touch and a steak tartare. As a main course a creekstone ribeye and guinea fowl with a grape sauce. To finish it off, a passion fruit pannacotta and strawberry romanoff. Well taken care of from A to Z, nice additional advice regarding wine and the like. Will definitely come back!

Just took a chance and went inside to sit outside and get straight to the point: the apple pie is really tasty, even my girlfriend, who isn't a fan of apple pie, ate more than half of it haha. Then a chicken bite was excellent and the coffee was great, will definitely come again.

Celebrated a nice birthday while enjoying a delicious lunch.

Used to be a big fan of Vuur - but this time it's a disappointing experience. I don't mind paying 20 Euro's for a salad (Ocean), but I would like the food to match the price. Mediocre salad (basic greens with a blend dressing) and a few pieces of fish. The one Gamba was cut in half so it looked there where two 😂

An ample pass for Fire. Had lunch on the terrace where it is nice to relax. Fire does not excel in anything, but scores well on all fronts. A special mention for the wine list; several nice wines also available by the glass

Eaten here often. Spacious terrace where there is often room. Varying experiences regarding the food. Went out today after a drink. Even though the terrace was not full, it was hard to get served and the waiter did not enjoy this. Dishes off the menu were not mentioned. If we had been seated in the area served by the lady, we might have stayed for dinner.

Lovely atmosphere, you can look into the kitchen if you want. The food is exceptionally good and tasty. Furthermore, it is a beautiful and warm restaurant. And not to forget good and nice staff who know what they are serving. In short, you must have dinner there at least once.
