A really nice restaurant! Delicious food, friendly service, and a really fun concept. I always love being able to try a little bit of everything, so this was perfect. Friendly service and just the right amount! They also created a lovely and delicious surprise menu for our vegan friend. And even dark chocolate with his oat cappuccino 🤩

Perfect for lunch - awesome food!

Unique concept in a unique location On a weekday we had lunch in this unique restaurant, located in an old district courthouse. The authentic atmosphere has been well preserved – even the toilets are located in the old cells (which you can just leave yourself 😉). The concept is surprising and original: you choose three or four smaller dishes, comparable to larger tapas. Ideal for those who have difficulty choosing – this way you get multiple flavors on one plate. The food itself was very tasty and beautifully presented. The service was somewhat variable. One employee completely ignored us, but the man behind the bar made up for that with fast and attentive service. The pace of serving was a bit slower than we are used to. In addition, an extra portion was only brought after we had already finished our plates – a small mistake that could have been better by mentioning it at the time itself. Despite the points for improvement, we thought it was a nice experience. The combination of atmosphere, concept and quality of the food certainly makes this a place to come back to.

Visited for lunch around 13:45 and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but service was very slow. There were no menus on the table, and when we were finally approached, the waitress didn’t offer us any menus - even though we were clearly ready to eat. We ordered a mint tea and a latte macchiato. It took over 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive, and we were just about to leave when they finally turned up. The drinks themselves were fine, and the price of €7.60 for both was reasonable. Two of the waitresses we saw were lovely and friendly, but the one who served us seemed like she was having a bad day, and unfortunately, that affected the overall experience. Disappointing visit—we won’t be returning.

Had a nice time with a colleague on the terrace and had coffee and apple pie. The coffee was delicious and the apple pie was great. A large piece of tasty and fresh. The service was friendly and hospitable. Highly recommended. I have eaten there before and this is also recommended.

Beautiful place in the center of Boxmeer, beautifully restored building with its own identity. The food according to their concept of small dishes is delicious and the service is attentive and good! When the weather is nice, the outdoor terrace and the courtyard are also wonderful places to stay. Also a beautiful location for business where you can hold meetings/presentations for smaller groups in the old prison and combine that with a delicious lunch. Compliments to the owners Marjolein and Roy. A real recommendation in the beautiful Boxmeer.

Voor een korte stop met 40 motorrijders werd ons de binnentuin toegewezen, De drankjes werden vlot geserveerd en de bediening was vriendelijk. De lokatie heeft historie en maakt nieuwsgierig. Leuke stop.

During the trip, we deliberately looked for a spot away from the highway for lunch. The Subdistrict Court appealed to us immediately and that was certainly not disappointing. Place on the front terrace, inside or in the courtyard. What a stylish decoration and what a friendly and warm welcome. The concept for lunch, where you can choose several small dishes ranging from sandwiches, soup, salad to poke bowl, was also very successful.

Just grabbing a cup of coffee, because we had to be in the area. An iced coffee as an iced coffee should be. Really great. Never had one this good. Served with a pastry as a dessert. Work has been done. Nice service too. 👍😉

Delicious food! Nice concept. Friendly employees. Nice atmosphere. A bit pricey.

In the canton dish you imagine yourself as if you were sitting in the heart of Utrecht in a trendy lunch cafe. The service is always friendly, they have a nice varied menu with a combination of small delicious haojes and you can also go here for a nice drink. The fact that the building was a former courthouse with some old cells completes the authentic appearance. Oh yes, on nicer spring and summer days there are still accessible seats in a cozy courtyard (in the past the refuge for prisoners), where you can chat with friends. It is wise to book in advance, because more and more people are discovering this crown jewel of Boxmeer in the heart of the center

We were in Boxmeer for shopping and some sightseeing and were looking for a place to rest, have some lunch and recover with great food and drinks. If you are looking for the same - don't hesitate to stop here too! We loved it, you will propably too ;) The food is tasty and an experience at the same time. You can choose from different small dished, which you combine for your meal... I'm sure you won't regret it. To the staff: Thanks for your hospitality.

Atmospheric building, beautifully renovated while retaining original aspects. The atmosphere is very cozy and the food delicious! An additional plus are the operators involved! It was our first time there and we felt more than welcome!

Good food but the menu is chaotic and unclear. They want to be "separate and slightly different", fine, but that can be so much simpler.

Lovely gem in the middle of Boxmeer. We stumbled upon them whilst looking for a place for lunch open on Monday. And lucky for us, this place is! They have a great food concept where you can pick and choose from different (very) tasty dishes. Plus very friendly people. We very much enjoyed and recommend it!

Heel leuk concept in een heel leuk aangekleed restaurant/lunchroom. Terras zag er ook netjes uit. Werden snel en vriendelijk geholpen. Toen wij om de kaart vroegen kregen wij deze niet. Een tafel naast ons had het zelfde probleem. Terwijl er werd aangegeven dat de kaart eraan kwam. Bij het navragen bij een andere serveerster kregen wij snel de kaart. De borden waren mooi opgemaakt en het eten zag er lekker uit. Het smaakte ook zeer goed. De koffie had ook een lekkere sterke aroma en smaakte heel goed. Prijs/kwaliteit is zeer goed! Aanrader om te gaan lunchen.

Mijn favoriete eetgelegenheid in het centrum van Boxmeer. Ik kom hier regelmatig voor een lekkere lunch en/of een hapje en een drankje. De eetgelegenheid heeft een leuk (lunch)concept en er is voor ieder wat wils. Het eten is smaakvol en wordt mooi opgediend. Het personeel is vriendelijk en serveert snel uit. Zeker de moeite waard om hier eens een stop te maken!

geweldig je kan hier op een heel erg uitgebreide kaart fantastisch eten en drinken de bediening is heel erg vriendelijk en je kan ze zelf een rondleiding door de gevangenis vragen die echt super mooi is. ze hebben ook een mooi terras en dan nog het allerleukste een oude luchtplaats omgetoverd naar een binnentuin waar je lekker in de zon buiten kan eten. de locatie is ook fantastisch om een feest of een bruiloft te houden dus als je in boxmeer komt kan je al de andere restaurants skippen want het kantongerecht is veel beter

Très bon moment dans ce restaurant décoré avec goût et servant une cuisine simple mais bien préparée. La bienveillance du service et le temps pris par le propriétaire pour parler de l’histoire atypique du lieu (ancienne prison) et faire visiter l’endroit, est très appréciable. Adresse à visiter!

Heel erg lekker en een ontzettend gezellige ambiance. Het lekkerst vind ik het broodje tonijn salade en de salade.

Super plekje in Boxmeer. Gisteren geweest voor een diner, nadat we al eens eerder voor lunch langs zijn geweest. Het eten was dikke prima en het personeel is super vriendelijk. Kaart is divers met opties voor vlees, vis en ook leuke vega gerechten! Bovendien is het erg leuk hoe ze de geschiedenis van het gebouw terug laten komen in de thematisering van het restaurant. Zeker een aanrader als je in Boxmeer een hapje wil eten.

Ontzettend heerlijk gegeten, het was een avond met een gouden ster. Ik trof daar ook nog een heerlijk stukje Franse muziek aan, in één woord geweldig. 4 gangen diner genomen, dat raad ik iedereen aan. Bedankt Trijntje Cochius.

Leuke plek, nette bediening, lunchkaart is uit balans (alsof er 1 pagina mist).

Het eten was weer heerlijk. Je moet iets meer bestellen want het zijn bewust kleine gerechtjes. Als je er 3 neemt zit je echt vol. Heerlijk. Je kunt vele combinaties maken.

Je kan hier voor de lunch kleine gerechtjes bestellen. Weinig keuze daarin. Wat ze bieden is wel lekker maar qua kwaliteit en prijs is het duur. Je kan wel lekker zitten om te drinken. En mooi gebouw. Vriendelijk personeel.

Leuke sfeer en bediening. En de locatie is bijzonder, een oud kantongerecht incl cellen. Oh ja, het eten was goed! Kippendij, heerlijk! Aanrader!

Een leuke lokatie, sfeervol. Vriendelijke en gastvrije bediening. Van het huis, kan water en broodje met diverse smeersels waarbij de olijven tapanade erg lekker is.

Leuke plek! Lekkere taartjes gegeten hier. Super gastvrije service. We kregen een extra taartpunt omdat de serveerster de portie te klein vond. Erg lief.

Men wordt hier altijd vriendelijk ontvangen. De kaart is niet enorm uitgebreid maar het eten is voortreffelijk en vers bereid. De ambiance is gezellig, informeel en altijd netjes schoon. We komen hier altijd graag. De vers gebakken appeltaart is de beste in de regio!

Lekkere lunch genuttigd,goede vriendelijke bediening

Het eten was erg lekker en een leuk concept! Jammer dat er twee grote groepen waren waardoor de kleinere tafels vergeten werden. Lang wachten en we moesten zelf vragen om extra drankjes. Ook erg jammer dat er niks voor kinderen op de kaart was en er ook niks gemaakt kon worden. Dus mijn dochter had een portie friet met mayonaise.. ik kom hier zeker terug maar dan zonder kind.

Leuk concept qua lunch. Kies 2, 3 of 4 kleine gerechtjes. Lekkere koffie (cortado) inclusief een klein glaasje water. Thee is losse thee, geen zakje met touwtje. En zie hoe mooi de soep geserveerd werd! Te mooi om aan te beginnen. Eerder hier geweest, toen achterin de zaak, de gevangenis! Leuk ingericht.

Lekker gegeten. Kalfs Biefstuk is een aanrader.

We hebben lekker gegeten op deze mooie locatie. Hele vriendelijke eigenaren, we kregen zelfs een rondleiding door het voormalige Kantongerecht. Leuk dat er nog veel oude elementen in het gebouw zitten.
