We couldn’t decide what to order and ended up ordering a bunch of dishes for the table and it was all amazing! Not to mention, the service was lovely and really went out of the way to help us out. Definitely recommend!

Not as good as it used to be. When cocktails feature prominently on your menu and a guest asks to make a Salmuera classic that for years was possible to prepare, it is a bit rude to say: its not possible. You dont want to do it, thats not the same thing. Apart from this girl who has been there for more than 2 years, the other staff were wonderful, friendly and polite. Food was ok but a bit bland. Many tourists but the consistency of the quality is still important to locals.

The food was impeccable! Not a single thing was mediocre. Service was excellent as the waiters were incredibly nice. The cherry on top; the cozy atmosphere with the wooden details and fireplace. A must- eat when tou go to Amsterdam!

The food was even nicer than the first time. I didn’t love the sides and salads as much but the meat was perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful!. Only the music volume was increased half way through the night which made hard to chat so got a little too loud but otherwiise it was a good evening altogether!

We haven't experienced such bad service in a long time. There were only six of us, and orders were constantly being forgotten (water, wine list, napkins, cutlery, side salad, 3 (!) main courses, and a starter (which turned out to be out of stock, but that wasn't communicated; it simply didn't arrive). We didn't hear an apology, only a "chicken is coming, but we want to make sure it's cooked properly" (they'd forgotten it). The staff also seemed quite stressed. It really made for a much less enjoyable evening. The food was fine, but overpriced for what you get (main courses are small portions, so you have to order side dishes). The fish seemed boneless, but there were still bones in it, which made it difficult to eat. Finally, I also found a hair in my food.

Great atmosphere, fine cuts, but mostly, in our case, exceptional service. Thank you very much, Raphael and Mozes, we will repeat the experience soon.

I would like to start by saying I think they had an off day. I rarely even consider writing a bad review. However, one specific moment made me write it. I don’t mind waiting if there is clear communication, but lying and acting clueless is what gets to me. I’m genuinely disappointed. I was recommended this spot and told to try their empanadas and rib-eye with some sides, so we ordered them all at 18:00. The empanadas came a little later, but they were very nice. After that, we were waiting for the main courses (and sides). Seeing other people who came in later getting their food before us did raise some questions. Our sides also had not arrived. One staff member went to check and said “4 minutes.” Fifteen minutes passed with no sign of our food. After some more time, we asked again, and the next staff member went to check and came back with, “Just 5 more minutes, guys.” Another 20 minutes passed, and still nothing, and we repeated this cycle. 1.5 hours passed… and that’s when our food showed up with only 2/3 sides. That missing side did not arrive, yet it was added to the bill. After paying and walking out, the staff member who kept adding minutes to the waiting time asked, “Was everything good, guys?” while smiling. He knew the answer to that question, yet chose to act clueless…

I went to this restaurant today and I was pretty disappointed. First of all we ordered empanadas and tempura cauliflower, it tasted really good but the time it took to come was on an other level. If I would guess I say about 25 mins, and it was only the starters. We then got beef as our main dish and it took sooo long to come (1 hour?), i was okay with the time but…. The beef was cold. I was really disappointed at this point. The only thing that saved a one star review was the staff, the staff here is soooo friendly. But overall a 2 star review. 😥

Amazing food. Very passionate wait staff (particularly Martin) who wanted to engage and show us nice wine pairings for our food. Would recommend this place every day of the week.

I really recommend the sirloin steak and the octopus (Kraken). The service was also fantastic and very helpful. Will for sure be back!

Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. The service was slow, and the staff seemed overwhelmed, which made the visit less enjoyable. The food didn’t meet expectations — several dishes lacked flavor and didn’t feel freshly prepared. I was also surprised that the chef didn’t seem attentive to detail that evening. The presentation was rushed, and the flavors didn’t feel balanced, as if the kitchen was having an off night. For the price, I expected a higher level of consistency and care. I hope the restaurant can improve, but based on this visit, I wouldn’t return.

I was excited to try this steakhouse, but the experience was disappointing. Our food took over an hour, and the steak arrived tough and under-seasoned. The waitress was kind and clearly felt bad about the kitchen’s mistakes, but no one else seemed willing to take responsibility. Don’t let some of the other reviews fool you — my visit didn’t match them at all. Como decimos, “no todo lo que brilla es oro.”

The worst dinner experience in my life. We waited 1.5 hours for our orders to come, orders arrived 2 times, and both times they were wrong orders. At the end of the 1.5 hours, not just main dishes but our side orders haven't arrived. Don't go to this place. A couple months ago I went with friends and waited 2 hours, gave a second chance then they ruined it again. Don't let restaurants with poor services treat you badly just because there are not many places in Amsterdam. I am not even mentioning dirt, bad approach etc.

I definitely do not recommend it to anyone. The service is very slow. The waiters are very indifferent. They brought our order wrong twice. They are very inattentive. We have been waiting for our orders for 1 hour. The prices are much higher than average, yet the service is very poor.

This was a very disappointing experience. The meat had an extremely bad taste and was clearly undercooked, making it nearly impossible to enjoy. On top of that, the staff were very rude throughout our visit. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great food! Very good service, though unfortunately, we're often reminded of the two-hour maximum seating time. The atmosphere is good, and the interior is very spacious.

a fantastic place with delicious food and drink - the mezcal collection is out of this world and the biggest in Europe. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive and the atmosphere is more than welcoming. Highly recommend if you are visiting or living in Amsterdam

Salmuera has a great atmosphere! I love the fresh rose on the table. Delicious Argentinian steaks...the empanadas remind me of the ones I tasted in Buenos Aires! A 10+

Best food I had on my trip to Amsterdam. We had two empanadas, two tenderloin steaks, guacamole, chimichurri sauce, chimichurri bread, plus a bottle of still water, for €90 — It was all excellent ! Highly recommend.

While I was going to a cigarette with my friends, and we said to the waitress do not remove my plates because I was still eating , when I came back my plates was gone

Celebrated our Thanksgiving dinner here with my family and it was such a great experience. The food is amazing and the atmosphere and decor is also well done. Would definitely eat here again, along with recommend to others.

Really nice Argentinian restaurant with great food, an interesting rotating cocktail menu and a solid wine list. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Only downside: if you’re seated upstairs, service can be a bit slow and you sometimes feel a bit forgotten. Still, definitely worth a visit, just be prepared to flag someone down if you’re on the upper floor.

Salmuera is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. I’ve been there several times, and it’s always an exceptional experience. The meat is absolutely amazing — perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, just what you’d expect from a proper Argentine asado. The sides are authentic and truly traditional, bringing the real taste of Argentina to the table. The staff is fantastic: friendly, welcoming, and always on point. The atmosphere is warm and lively, the kind of place where you instantly feel good. In short: go with your eyes closed, it’s a guaranteed great night out!

My waiter Moses was exceptional! I told him what cut of steak I like and he recommended a delicious steak with the right size and the perfect sides (potatoes and salad). He topped it off with recommending the perfect red wine to complement my meal. He was attentive and extremely helpful on what was actually my 53rd Birthday dinner in a new country! Meal and location were phenomenal!!

If you want to sit in a nice, full, good restaurant during the week, this is the place to go. I was there on a Monday evening, and it was absolutely packed. The food is really good and delicious, and the tournedos is a real standout. It's a large and busy restaurant, but it retains its cozy feel thanks to the beautiful interior and wonderful lighting. All in all, fantastic!!

Delicious food, nicely decorated, friendly staff. The quality is good, but the prices are steep. Perhaps we missed it when making our reservation, but they have a two-hour time slot. So, a relaxed and enjoyable drink isn't possible, which was a real letdown for us. We had to rush through dessert. Otherwise, it's definitely for mezcal lovers. They have a very nice selection, but you'll pay an average of ten euros or a bit more, keeping in mind that they only serve a thimbleful.

Nice restaurant, good service (Spanish/English speaking staff). Delicious food and great cocktails. I gave it 4 stars because the portions were expensive and too small, in my opinion. If they were culinary delights, I wouldn't mind a higher price, but this was a bit disappointing for us, especially since the main courses didn't include a side dish. As big eaters, we weren't completely full after three courses. Otherwise, it's a fine restaurant.

Not the place it use to be : food is still ok but service is just horrible, they forgot half of our orders and we had to remind them and insist to get our food and drinks. Very usual in NL to have Bad service but I really hopped that Salmuera will always keep it up

One of my favorite places in Amsterdam! I’ve been there many times and it never goes wrong. The meat is really good, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the environment is great! We usually go for ribeye and entrecôte but Lechon is also very good.

We decided casually to have a drink at the bar and it turned out to be a wonderful evening! The food is truly tasty and high quality, the drinks are sooooo original (the miso-infused pineapple cocktail is incredible), but most of all Jack the bartender made everything special by explaining all the mezcal and drinks and funny stories. He’s straight out of a movie and we’re so grateful we could have this experience with him :) Highly recommended!

Don't come, or come early. It took 1.5 hours to serve dinner. Very slow. VERY SLOW.

The restaurant is nice and the staff are professional and friendly. However, we arrived for food at 6pm and didn't get served any food until 7:37. When it came it was cold and for two members of our party they received food far too rare for what they ordered. We ordered drinks that took quite a long time to arrive and there is only one size glass for beer, which is quite small. It's a very nice restaurant astheticall, nice and polite waiting staff, but the service, on this occasion was poor.

amazing food! My new favorite place on Amsterdam's map. Steak was delicious, ceviche very tasty. Our group ordered most of dishes from menu card - Kraken (Octopus), Chicken, Rib eye, tenderloin, tuna ceviche, Chicharrones (I tried it in Colombia first time and Salmuera version is very similar and also amazing). One last comment - Service - very kind, all the time smiling and joking!

Celebrated my partners birthday here with some friends. Service was good. Steak was excellent. (Had the 400g ribeye) The environment was as to be expected with a decent steak house so all good there. Pricing was again what you'd expect for a quality steak dinner with all the trimmings. Will definitely visit again.

The most delicious octopus, and the sauce for the fish is unbeatable, it reminds me of the taste from my childhood, how my grandmother used to cook, everything is very tasty, tender, melts in your mouth

Beautiful atmosphere, but too much attention and poor allergy handling We visited on a Thursday evening and got a table for two without a reservation, which was great. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed – candlelight, stylish decor, a luxurious atmosphere. We really liked the setting. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I asked about gluten-free options, and she explained that most dishes could be adapted, as long as I mentioned it again when ordering. That sounded reassuring at first. When I placed my order, I made it very clear that my meal needed to be gluten-free. The waitress checked with the kitchen and came back saying it was no problem. However, when the food arrived, a beef dish served in a bowl with three slices of baguette and some crispy chips. I immediately noticed the bread. When I asked, I was told it wasn’t gluten-free. That’s a serious oversight, especially since I had discussed my dietary needs beforehand and it was supposedly confirmed by the kitchen. Fortunately, I didn’t get sick from the other food, but it definitely didn’t inspire confidence. I also had the feeling that the waitress wasn’t entirely sure what gluten actually is, she kept mentioning cheese as something that might have to be removed, which doesn’t really make sense. It left a slightly unprofessional impression. Aside from that, the staff were extremely polite, almost too attentive. We had a bottle of sparkling water on the table, and multiple waiters kept refilling our glasses even when they were still full. It became a bit uncomfortable, as we felt constantly watched. After finishing our meal, we kindly declined dessert, but still received the dessert menu with a friendly comment that we “might want to see what delicious options there are.” It was well-meant, but a little pushy. Finally, when paying, another waiter came to take our payment again even though we had already settled the bill, which showed some lack of coordination among the staff. Overall, it’s a beautifully designed restaurant with lovely staff, but the handling of food allergies and the overly attentive service made the experience a bit less relaxing than we had hoped.

Delicious food! The steak is incredible. We watched the bartender from afar as he made his cocktails, and at the end, he came over to offer us a shot of delicious tequila. He was very kind. I highly recommend it and will be back soon.

Awesome! The food was a 10/10, delicious meat, and a very original place. The service was super attentive. They showed us and explained the wines and mezcal very well, and they even let us try other options out of pure curiosity. And all in Spanish! I recommend going a little later (around 9 p.m.) so it's not too crowded and you can talk more easily, because it's a large place and the atmosphere is full. That aside, it's a great place! I'll be back!

The food was excellent; the grilled octopus was juicy and delicious. The ceviche was also excellent, and the pulled pork was tasty. The dishes are sparse, so sides are a separate item. Cocktails are meager for €15. The service is poor; there are many mistakes, the explanations about the mezcal are unnecessarily long and loud, and when clearing the table, the octopus juices spilled all over my shirt. There was no apology. It happens, but this is simply awful. The icing on the cake was that we ordered a mezcal for around €8 that was out of stock. He came to tell us, but only said he had something similar. We took it, only to see on the bill that it was €17 (!) each. It's disgusting, and it makes you feel cheated. I used to come here every now and then, but this was definitely the last time; this place is nothing like it used to be.
