San Diego Restaurant in Nieuwmarkt/Lastage

I found this beautiful place in the summer 2022. It is a really rare place with such a warm service, vibes and tasty food. Love the owner. Love the team. Love the location in the city old center. It is nice for the family and friends. I was here many times and will come back for sure. And off course, i would highly recommend San Diego to all the Amsterdam guests. This is such a place where i love to leave my money with great pleasure. Wishing San Diego prosperity and grateful visitors.

I don't know where the good reviews come from. The food just tasted bland. And the service was anything but friendly and competent. You get a friendly welcome and that’s it. Can't recommend the store at all.

Very charming restaurant, a warm welcome and a charming place For the meal we ate very well and especially as a Gluten intolerant I was able to have a lot of choice! #Glutenfree restaurant and very good!

Great food very nice and hard working waiter

The service wasn't good at all, the good man forgot our order even though the shop was empty. The ambience was terrible, especially when the Titanic song was playing while we were eating. The food wasn't particularly tasty, it tasted like a frozen pizza. The shop wasn't clean, but I was very happy that the chewing gum stuck to the table and not to the chair. So I can't imagine that other customers wrote these star reviews

The pizza was tasty, but there were fruit flies in the olive oil bottle on the table, and in my wine. In addition, the atmosphere was not very great and the service was short. It also took a long time to get our food.

'Not really an Italian restaurant, the minestrone soup tasted like canned chicken soup with some broccoli and cauliflower. Home and the pasta was fine. Beyond that, nothing special.

Orrible food, not Italian and even continental. I attache the pucture of Bruschetta... in a bath of cheap oil covered by cheese. Really disgusting.

Good food at a reasonable price. Excellent service. And fantastic ambiance. I could sit and read my book all afternoon with a glass of wine and the voice of the wonderful Italian hostess.

Very delicious pizza! Truly an Italian pizza with a thin crust and very filling! I’m lactose intolerant and they had vegan cheese so I could still enjoy a nice chicken pizza! Service was good and the food came very fast. Would definitely recommend!

The food was genuinely delicious our group got pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. Everything was really good I recommend the garlic sauce especially. My chicken burger was really good, I got fries with ketchup and fry sauce on the side. I never tried the fry sauce, I was just focused on how good the garlic sauce was. I heavily recommend going to this place. Additionally, our server Ammar was super cool!

Poorly polite waitress, table next to the front door you eat and every minute you get up to close the door because the customers leave it open, very basic and overpriced food. No variety limited choice

The food was okay, unfortunately my steak was quite dry and not really seasoned. The fries weren't really seasoned either. The service was fast and the employees were friendly.

We entered by chance because we wanted to find a place with Gluten free options. And it has pleasantly surprised us. The gluten-free pasta is homemade and delicious. I had to ask if it was really gluten free because it was excellent. The treatment is also excellent. I don't have any photos because everything was so good that we didn't even have time to take them. 100% recommended

Hearty plate of chicken pasta, decent pizza, the downside: a pot of sauce (~€2) offered by the waiter to accompany 4 chicken drumsticks. Obviously, we learned the price once at the checkout.

We ordered fish and it turned out to be nylon. There are restaurants where you are torn between asking something from the waiter or not, this is it.

The waiters are so friendly and welcoming. You feel very comfortable and the food... SOOO GOOD!

The gluten free pizza is Amazing! We went back the next night. Ammar, our server was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is my worst experience in Amsterdam so far. After a long wait, they finally took our order after several requests, as the waiter didn’t really want to take it on their own. There was only one waiter in a place with more than ten tables! And in the meantime, the waiter went to make a phone call twice. They brought out half of the drinks, while the other half came only after the food. Out of six cutlery sets, only two were on the table. They forgot part of our order. But none of this would have been a problem if at least the food had been tasty and good. Except for the pizza, everything was frozen, as everything was ready just two minutes after I placed my order. There was literally no flavor, and I’ve never had such bad pizza in my life. I wouldn’t say the price was cheap either. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

To begin with, if you ask for tap water they tell you that they will not give it to you even though they are obliged to do so. The pizza is really not bad at all and the place is nice. But it's not to go crazy...

Okay food, veryyy slow service. And when we finally got our food after over an hour they only gave us the food for 3/4 people, and told us they didnt have what it takes to cook what the last person ordered. If he wanted to order something else it would take alot longer.

Place wasn't too busy, we were allowed to pick a seat and then even offered to switch to a window table to have a nice view while we eat. Food was delicious, arrived quickly and service overall was great. Many thanks to our server Ammar. Would definitely eat here again next time we're in Amsterdam.

Little far from the center, but worth to go, good price as well. Nezar the director and waiter in the same time, so kind and fast serving. We enjoyed the food and good music. Specially after 9:30 that you don't fond anywhere open. I recommend ROB EYE AND STEAK, MIX GRILL

This restaurant has very reasonable price performance and is affordable. We came with my cousin, the pork ribs were superb, the salad was very fresh and delicious, the steak was very good, the bread was served with butter hot from the oven, we were very pleased.

Overcooked pasta pushes to consumption and in a hurry to put you out never again for a high price

We ate here twice whilst in Amsterdam, food & service were amazing. Definitely recommend the spaghetti Bolognese and everything else on the menu :) Will definitely return when in Amsterdam again.

This was a lucky find - stumbled on it walking past and so happy we stopped there. The service is excellent and the pizza and pasta is divine !! So many Italian restaurants in Amsterdam - give San Diego a go - you won’t be disappointed!!
